Lowe's Home Improvement

We have been doing a lot of remodeling around the house so we have made our share of visits to Lowe’s over the past couple of months. We have encountered some very pleasant employees and some that appeared to not want to be bothered. I did not get the names of everyone we encountered but I will list by department. I went to purchase windows and the guy showed no interest in helping me and told me they didn’t have the windows I needed in stock. I ended up going up the other location to purchase windows. Much better experience at the Northside location. I had to return to purchase a storm door and encountered the same guy. He was the same not very helpful and appeared to not want to help me. I hate I didn’t get his name. His customer service skills are horrible. We had to purchase kitchen cabinets the called the cabinet specialist and she sold us the wrong cabinets. She was in a rush and wasn’t very knowledgeable. We had to end up taking a lot of the cabinets back and purchasing more because she sold us the wrong sizes.

I received excellent service from Paul in the plumbing department with help buying all the items needed for a total bathroom remodel. He asked Eleese ( not sure of spelling) for assistance but she was rude! Paul eventually was able to get another man (Andrew ?) to assist. Paul, a 71 year old man, couldn't do it all by himself because the hot water heater and shower unit was a two man job. I appreciate Paul sticking with it, even after an assistant manager called him on the phone to shout at him about stocking shelves. (I could hear her over the phone). I also appreciate Marie in Customer Service for ringing us out and Ms. Ronni assisting with loaded into our truck. Thanks again for your help! And to Elise ( not sure if spelling) in appliances - You are a very rude Lowe's employee and should be nicer to paying customers!

Had a dryer delivered yesterday. The delivery team was outstanding. They were very professional and kept me informed and up to date the whole way. Jatavious went above and beyond to ensure the safe installment of my new dryer. Thanks again to the Lowe's delivery team for their timely and professional service.

We went this morning to get supplies for a pretty good size project. Michael Holloway and Carson Shelley went above and beyond to help us. They pulled our lumber, brung it out with the forklift and loaded on the truck. Both had positive attitudes and were very outgoing. Thank you so Michael and Carson for everything.

I mean Lowe's is generally a place that's fairly on top of things, but on a Wednesday I needed to get a single piece of 8' plank board just. Lastly it took me about I'm 30 mins to get that piece of wood cut. Still gonna shop there, just have to cut it myself or somewhere else.

Came here to get paint. And the lady was in no rush, but did get us what we needed. Waited over like twenty minutes, just to get what we went in for. Went to ask another lady and she just said if we have it, It'll be on whatever... rude

Love the variety of high-quality products! Good deal on garden soil.
The in store catalogs feature hundreds of additional products not in stock. Great service plans on appliances. They also sell great products online!

One HUGE improvement they SHOULD make:
Hire individuals who know the products they are selling!!!

Too often, I have gone in with a list from my electrician, plumber, etc. only to learn that the salesperson has no more knowledge of their products than I do.

Last week, I went to the Pro Desk for help only to learn that the pros weren't actually pros.
I left & went to Meyers Electrical in Dothan where I submitted my list & left with everything item I needed.

As much as I love Lowe's, they need to step up their game!!

Typically the same experience but, with new faces. I still prefer Lowes over the others. Also, Valspar has some great products - for the $$👍🏼 - i use it 90% time. Except trim paint. Everything else - i shop Lowes.l

David at appliances was the best of the best. We bought a dishwasher and the associate that sold it to us, didn’t notice that it has been sold. We waited for more than 30 minutes for anyone to bring the dishwasher until a girl associate told me they couldn’t find the dishwasher and to go and look for the associate that sold it to me😳 at this point I was getting really upset. So I went back and tried to locate the associate but couldn’t find him. Another girl told me he has gone to lunch and she couldn’t do anything about it 😳 so I said to her “so I’m supposed to wait for him until he comes back from lunch? You guess it I went off and told them that if I had a business and ran it like them I would have no business. That’s when David came in and told me that he would do whatever it took for me to choose dishwasher and take home. He offered me $75-$100 about what I paid for the one I had bought. He stayed with me and loaded on my truck and all. David deserves the best customer service award and a pay raise. We don’t get this type of customer service anymore and Lowe’s should make sure he is rewarded for it. Mrs Machado

Went to buy a new clothes dryer and I was greeted promptly by an associate that was helping another guest. He finished with his customer and immediately came to help me. I can't believe that I was able to get in and out with my new appliance in just a few minutes! Awesome! Returned again today looking for an obscure water filter and Holly was very helpful in locating the last three in inventory. I didn't find what I needed today, but I really didn't expect to. I was looking for a hard to find 200A main breaker which I knew would have to come from the electrical supply house.

Terrible service, and then put charge on my card, when I had just told the employee at the register not too! I had a credit on my card that I asked them to apply then I would pay balance. They then totally did what I had just ask them not to do! So sick of your self check-outs and your cashiers not knowing what they're doing and then taking my card and doing what I just told then not to do!
I'll shop online from someone else next time easier and they do better than an untrained and uncaring person at your store! Oh, and online will not be any Lowe's online either!

I have to brag on one of your employees. His name is Alek. He had to cut some plexiglass for me and the positioning and cutting was very awkward and cumbersome as the sheet was too long to fit in the saw. He was so patient and considerate. I tried to tip him and he refused. He said it was his job. This type of employee is hard to find and should be regarded as above average and appreciated. Thank you again, Alek.

Did an online order, when I came to pick it up I realized I had messed up my order. Jessica helped me fix my mess up. She stayed patient with me and was pleasant all the way through loading my items in my vehicle (in the rain) I’m definitely a customer for life. Was a very nice experience.

I usually really enjoy shopping here and hate to leave a low rating. Me and my daughter love going to the garden center, especially to get some “rescue plants” as she calls them. We were pretty excited to see them marked down to 75% off. She picked up some crummy looking petunias that will be dead in a week and I found a crabapple tree and a small palm, it was literally $20.40 worth of dying plants. I know discounting the plants can be a pain so normally we check out at the garden center but it was closed which is understandable because it’s winter. We headed to the self checkout, after being told to wait to use one that another customer wasn’t finished at yet (there were two more available that accepted both payment methods) I told the cashier that we had plants but they were discounted so she may need to call someone over for an override. She looked at us like we were garbage and said “nothing in the garden center is 75% off” I had taken a picture of the sign to send to my husband because he finds it funny we try to save plants. I started to show it to her and she waved me off and said “people like to scam things in the garden center, I’ve had a lot of scammers lately” I told her I had even asked the person stocking the plants and she rolled her eyes and said “I’m going to have to call someone to verify this, things are never marked down that low” she wouldn’t even let us start to check out, it was almost like she was waiting on security to show up. She never hit her radio, just kept looking at her screen on her scanner thing. After a few minutes I informed her we would just go to customer service to check out since apparently we were trying to scam her. She rudely said “that’s fine” I told her that she was being extremely rude and that we shop there all the time and have never been treated like that. I had to keep my cool in front of my kid, but that was hard. People were staring at us. I’ve been in customer service and retail and know that’s not how you treat people. Besides having to wait to get an override I have never had any issues with checking out the end of season plants, even when they have been priced that low. It was embarrassing and my 4 year old even asked me “why did that lady thing we were lying?” This store is the closest to us, but I will gladly drive to the other location in Dothan to not be treated like that. If she didn’t know about the discount she could have just called a manager over to check us out, not imply that we were lying repeatedly. She also shouldn’t be working self checkout if that’s how she talks to people. The girl at the customer service desk was fantastic and I wish I had gotten her name. She already had a lot going on but was happy to help us. She even said that the girl at self checkout hadn’t called anyone because the person she would have called would have been her. My husband normally buys all of our home improvement stuff from that location and rents tools often, he was so angry about it that he said he will start using Home Depot again. I’m just a little in shock, I didn’t realize me and my child gave off criminal vibes over some dying plants. I can shrug some things off because people have bad days, but the way she made me feel and the questions I had to answer from my kid were a little too much this time.

David J. and associates at the Dothan Alabama Ross Clark Circle Lowe’s location whom works in management & public relations assisted my wife and I with an issue with a Lowe’s gift card. David gave us stellar service and quickly resolved our issue. We’re very pleased and satisfied.

It's what's expected in big box stores, hard to find employees. That being said, I have to commend the employees who, in my experience, all have gone out of their way to assist. They are friendly and personable. Unfortunately Lowes seems to have a merchandise stocking problem. For example, in lighting you may see items hanging but no boxes for sale available. So plan ahead. Also merchandise in the lighting area changes often. If you have a return receipts are a must. The gardening area is awesome, with well maintained plants.

I did have to walk around to fine someone to help me. One employee told me the wrong place. I'm 69 years old. I have worked for 24 plus yrs. I worked hard at my jobs. I didn't stand around and watched customers ring up the purchases. The ladies (employees) in their twenties had to be told to help the customers with the self check out. These ladies were cutting up, laughing, and watching using the self checkouts. I didn't realize you played employee to do nothing.

No one helps load heavy items, hard to find carts for heavy items unless you go to parking lot and get them yourself. And lot of aisles are blocked with products to be put on shelves. Almost as bad as Wal Mart!
