Good Southern home cooking. Restaurant was clean. Staff was friendly. Our waitress was so nice and on top of things. I had the pecan smoked chicken breast, mashed potatoes with gravy, and fried okra. Bill had the fried chicken breast. Everything was delicious, especially the pecan smoked chicken! Don't miss out by not stopping here!!!

Good stop for meat and two plates. I had chicken livers, cabbage and lima beans. Chicken livers were perfectly cooked and very tender. My husband had country fried steak, fried corn and okra. All good was well seasoned. Service was good. Sweet tea was excellent!

Nice little place to eat. Staff was friendly, it was clean, temperature was good. It felt like a good home cooked meal going there. The BLT was amazing, the Country Fried Steak was loved by my husband (and he's picky) I got the blackened shrimp which was excellent with the cornbread dressing and salad, yum. Prices were great too.

Best service ever! Seated as soon as we walked in. Waitress a second later, asked for drinks and they came moments later. Food came quick too and the bread basket and drinks were not left empty for long without being refilled. At one point I saw our waitress standing in the doorway by the kitchen scanning the room. Cups were only half full but she hurried to fill them anyway. Food was delish too!

My party decided to give Blue Plate a try, hoping for some good home cooking. I am happy to say that we were very glad we came!
We got the "veggie" plate (term used loosely because one of the "veggies" was a dessert) and a pot roast meal.
The food came rather quickly, and all the entrees were really good. Seasoned just right for our tastes.
Our server was very nice. I'm sorry I do not recall her name, but she really friendly throughout our meal and for the tables around us
Great atmosphere, and clean location. We will be back!

The woman handling the online orders needs an attitude adjustment and until she learns how to speak with customers and show respect, I'll be taking my business somewhere else.

We were visiting some family and decided to stop by and try this place since it seemed to have really good reviews. The food wasn't anything special. Everything came came out luke warm and really had no flavor. The only thing that came out hot was the fried pickles which were good.

My food (meatloaf meal) was good. My son (tenders) and daughter (BLT) were also really good. But, my wife’s fried chicken sandwich was definitely undercooked. She didn’t notice until she was almost done, but it was tough and had a bunch of undercooked pieces…probably why she was sick that evening. For the service, smiles and being relaxed can help a lot. The wait staff looked borderline uncomfortable and uptight. We didn’t get that typical southern charm/kindness from everyone we talked to.

Had to give a one because they were closed on Monday which apparently is not widely known even by the locals as several cars came and left while I was looking for another place to eat.

Great food and excellent service! We stopped while passing through town, and this place was very crowded on a Sunday afternoon, but the staff was so pleasant, and turned the tables very quickly for us. Food came out fast and was delicious! Will stop here again!

Great food and servers! Atmosphere warm and great ask for stuff and they bring it to you no problem very warm and friendly which is a very very Plus and add smiley and friendly atmosphere that you can come into! Kid-friendly had a grandchild with us and get exactly what he wanted which is a very great plus plus plus plus plus for me! 😊 An absolutely planning on going back!!!!! 😀

Ordered tips with rice and creamed corn .. the waitress brought out corn bread and it was luke warm and the dinner was barely warm. When we told her about the food not being hot, she didn't show much concern. Gave us our bill and walked off.. this isn't the 1st time for Luke warm food... wont be back...

Visited Here while visiting the hospital. The staff was very warm and friendly. I ordered mostly their vegetables. All 4 were so so good. To top this, I got extra cornbread. Also very good. Down home cooking at their best. Thank you Teresa and Chris. I will be back

Southern foods like fried cornbread, butter beans, chicken and dressing, fried okra, and rutabaga. Also, rarely seen menu items like liver and onions and a fried chicken liver and gizzard plate. But don't worry, there are hamburgers, mac and cheese, sandwiches. Something for everyone.

Hubby got the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, and butter beans. I ordered the 4 sides plate, and also chose the mashed potatoes and butter beans, a house salad, and banana pudding. Unfortunately the pudding was my least favorite because the bananas were CRUNCHY. But the butter beans were excellent and tasted almost exactly like my South Alabama Granny's.

This was our second visit as we live about 2 hours away. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Be forewarned, if you go Sunday after church you will be waiting about 30 minutes.

Always get the veggie plate for takeout so I can't say much about inside, but the food is some of the best Southern food out there. I start craving Blue plate whenever I'm in Dothan. I appreciate the fried cornbread included and love the fried okra, Mac n cheese, butter beans, onion rings and creamed corn. You'd be hard pressed to find anything better.

I had lunch at BLUE PLATE Southside on Friday. The food was hot and tasted very good. The service was great. The staff and management do a great job! Amber takes great pride in making sure the customers food is the way they order it and that the customer has a pleasant dinning experience.

We had just been to my sister's funeral. We went into have a meal together as a family. The lady was very cordial and put tables together for us. Our food came fairly quick. I got the combination of chicken livers and gizzards. The gizzards were a little tough to eat but they usually are. It had a good taste.

We typically eat at the 84 west location, but they are closed on Saturdays. Both food and service were great! Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy our meal because it was so hot in the restaurant.. it had to be 80 degrees, considering it was almost 80 degrees over the weekend. We mentioned it to our server, who was also hot. She said they've told the owners, but no luck and they could not adjust the temp, and one AC was broken. Really?? We noticed other guests who were complaining. Makes no sense... will stick with 84W location.

Want country cooking at it's finest? Stop by here. Had fried chicken breast with white gravy, butter beans & rutabagas (rutabeggers, southern slang). Fried shrimp, french fries, man n cheese....Yummm yumm. Cornbread appetizer delish. Kay Kay, our waitress was above awesome. Everyone extremely friendly. Food delivered quickly after ordering and completely fresh. Sweet tea amazing. Will be back. Thank you all for a wonderful experience.

Food is typical southern comfort style but veggies are not loaded with meat fat. Good place for a stop while on a long car trip. Bathrooms are clean. Waitstaff are friendly. Has the feel of a gathering place for locals.
