I ve been here twice once in 2021 and again last week and they had a really good selection for being such a small store. I got Oingo Boingo - Dead Man s Party and The Gun Club - Mother Juno and both were really well priced for new vinyl

Really cool little place. A pretty decent selection with fair prices only about 30 minutes outside of gulf shores. One of the things I really liked was how they displayed the gradings on the sleeves on all of the used vinyl so you know what youre getting and you dont have to ask or take it out to know. Only complaint was that the guy behind the counter was... Kinda odd. He would be super nice and friendly to one person then just not talk or act annoyed with the next, nobody in the store was doing anything wrong or annoying, but he would just treat some people way better than others. Idk, it was weird. Overall a really cool experience tho

Last summer, we took a family vacation to Gulf Shores. While the family hung out at the beach, I opted to take a day to venture out on my own to find some local record shops. After a Google search, I settled on Dr. Music in Fairhope. When I mapped it out, its only a little over 30 miles away but given how busy Gulf Shores is, it took me a little under an hour to get there. Its totally worth it though. They have new releases and quite a few used records to browse too. I love digging through old 45s so I spent a good deal of time looking through their inventory. I went on a Thursday morning and it wasnt too terribly busy. The lady behind the counter offered up her assistance if I needed anything but otherwise I was left to flip through records quietly on my own. I spent a good hour in there just going through everything. I ended up buying the 2021 Pearl Jam Record Store Day 12 Vinyl of Alive. It was still sealed and the price was more than reasonable. I kept the bag they put my record in and framed it. I have it hanging in my garage now. Really cool store to check out. Stick around Fairhope for a while too ... its a nice getaway from the busy tourist areas not far away.

If youre going to use stickers to price your cassettes and you decide to tape all of your cassettes shut on top of that, AT LEAST use something that doesnt leave a bunch of adhesive stuck to the cases. Also, if this is how you want to price and sell your tapes, could you at least make sure to do some quality control checks before putting these out on the shelves? I mean, come on. Youre basically resealing these for me to open later, only to find out some are broken.

I like the vibe of this record store. Very friendly staff, not pushy to sell but willing to help and chat. Good selection of used records and new! Had a really small but killer 45 section. Also had merch and a little audio equipment. Probably spent no more than an hour digging through, everything was organized and labeled well. Used records have a grading system I d say was fair and accurate. All around cool place and would definitely go back.

So after MANY years of purchasing CDs, downloading, streaming and purchased a few used albums, I was given a gift certificate to Dr. Music. Went to see what kind of art they had. Really only albums and some clothing. Chatted for a while with the sales clerk who was great. Purchased two new albums and holy....the newly pressed albums are awesome , with a sound stage that is sonic joy! Forgot how good a new album can sound. Made realize just how compressed digital music can be. If you have a turntable, I highly recommend Dr. Music.
