Very Friendly staff. They didn't have what I needed and they still went out of their way to track it down. Even called a competitor's store. I ended up buying a few things and wishing I could have bought more. I'll definitely be back.

I was visiting family in May and I needed a pair of trail shoes for my extended trip. On a walk around Homewood, my brother introduced me to this store and we both left with the same shoes, the North Face Altamesa. Our sales associate (MB8) took lots of time to let us try on various shoes but when I tried the Altamesa, I said "That's it"! I have had two previous pairs from NorthFace and the comfort and balance are the best for me. Thanks for being so accommodating to us and our dog.

I do not remember his name, but a young man at the Homewood location helped me tremendously!! I have been looking for a specific size in the Tasman Ugg slippers for my daughter and have had terrible luck, this is her main Christmas present. The young man told me they had them in store but were not available to order and ship online, I live over an hour away. He put me on hold and came back to let me know they were opening it up online for me to order. He did not have to go out of his way but he did and I’m so thankful, my daughter will be as well! Best customer service I have received in a very long time!!!

I had fun visiting this location just recently. My husband said he visited this store during his college days. The store was unique in that you could go down in the basement, or up to the second story right when you walk in the door we ended up, leaving with a new Patagonia bag to add to our collection. They had lots of new and unique outdoor wardrobe items as well as gear.
I would highly recommend visiting this location.

My hometown local store that I have shopped at for so many years and now my children shop there to. Taught my son's to climb on there indoor wall and bought just about all the outdoor high quality clothing and accessories to include climbing equipment that myself and my sons own. Awful customer service and low integrity. I bought an $80 pair of workout shorts that starting fraying after 3 months and they say it’s the manufacturers issue and they can’t do anything about it. Other stores would handle the issue with the manufacturer while making it right with their customer. You can find the same brands at other stores nearby..

My hometown local store that I have shopped at for so many years and now my children shop there to. In a search for a popular style of Birkenstocks, I found a number of very helpful employees. However, it was brought to my attention that with this popular item, sales were limited to in-store purchases, preventing any out-of-town shoppers. Not only is this a terrible business practice, it boils down to a type of back-handed price gouging.

Went to Homewood store today to return $200 jacket. Nice staff upstairs. Purchased the only bottle of wash used to wash down jackets. Paid and did not get a bag. Other states are eliminating bags, waste of money for one or two items. Put in my hand bag. Needing another bottle, I went downstairs. Told guy there, " I bought this upstairs and they only had one, I need another". He said sure and as he put on the counter, asked in this condescending manner to see my receipt. I showed it and replied" if I were going to steal this bottle, I certainly would not have taken it out and showed you". Looked around and said, : I will not be buying this in this store, You have greatly offended me. " Should have returned the other bottle. But so mad I just left. What poor, thoughtless salesmanship. Just because I had worked that day and did not look like what he felt like was a respectable person, he judged me as a thief. I am a realtor, rule is never judge. That person I met that is poorly dressed, smells badly and not educated, may have 5 million dollars to spend. That should be a rule in all parts of our life, "Don't Judge" Some time needs to be spent there to teach about customer service. Will never go back in there again to buy, maybe to return the only bottle I bought.

I was looking for the Hoka Bondi 7 shoes that was closer to my address. The store was very clean with an open outlay and I was greeted as soon as I entered by Tyler. They were very helpful with making sure I had the sizing that was comfortable for me. Once everything was finished I checked out at the register and was excited to walk out with my new shoes in hand. Yes, I would recommend shopping at this store to my family and friends.

This is a very good outdoors store that actually still stocks a good bit of gear, not just overpriced clothes with North Face or Patagonia written on them (although there is plenty of that upstairs). Staff can be hit or miss as far as knowledge level, but always helpful and friendly. Good selection of camping/backpacking gear, fair selection of climbing gear.

By far the best Alabama Outdoors in the Birmingham area. I went in to look at, not purchase, some ÓN pants and shoes, and the staff is always so friendly I bought some shoes. They gave a great selection, and even the people at REI at the Summit recommend them for any of your outdoors' need .

I’ve seen sales online that lead me Alabama Outdoors. Once I walked in, I saw the place was 2 Floors, both jam packed with merch!
Downstairs, they have equipment, climbing, camping, traveling, bags, backpacks, even cooking tools for camping out.
This place really is your one stop shop if you’re looking for high end very good quality products and clothes.
Some of the prices in there are really high, but of great quality! (Now I think I understand why women walk around in leggings....some were $78! They feel like silk and probably make every body type look fab- but I’m not someone who can afford those prices.)
If I did have all the money in the world to spend on outdoor leisure, this is the place to go.
They do have sales, some t shirts, tank tops were on sale for $15, and they were having a major sale with items 30%, 40% and 60% off.
The shoe selection was impressive as I wanted at least 5 pair.
The employees were very nice and attentive, Braydon, Mason and a nice lady checked on me and talked to me.
Too bad the rock wall isn’t being climbed. They said they stopped it years ago, for insurance reasons.
I wonder if the owner has private parties where folks can climb?
Basically very cool Outdoor Shop and I wish I had money to spend there.

Picked up a new backpack and boots. Staff was friendly and helpful. They made sure I was buying what I truly needed in terms of pack volume, shoe type, etc. and helped me precisely dial in the fit of everything. I'm several days into my trip now and everything feels comfortable and like I've been using it for a lot longer. Thanks!

Poor customer service. I went in store to buy a $200-$300 jacket. Was only customer and there were 4 employees there. After walking around the store for 15 minutes looking for a jacket, not one employee asked if I needed any help, so I left. People don't care about customers and wonder why online shopping is killing their business.
