The Auburn Opelika Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts donated home furnishings and building products from companies and individuals which are sold at discounted prices to the public. Restore funds support Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities and hope.
I think this is a wonderful organization and typically I love to support them. I have an upcoming renovation which I had planned to use materials from the store. However I will not be patronizing the store again until they offer a sincere apology to the family whose son they so harshly mis-judged this past week. They called the police on my friends’ son who has autism when he was not behaving a destructive, aggressive or dangerous manner. He slammed a few doors…They could’ve chosen to speak with the mother, whose hand the son was holding, but they opted for law enforcement instead. This is disability discrimination. People with Autism have a right to be in public and express themselves… They are not inherently dangerous or disruptive. They are human beings with differently wired brains. I also have a son with complex disabilities that I will not bring into the store until I am assured it is safe and excepting place for him.

I love a good Restore. I’m sure some things are priced appropriately but most of the “construction material” is priced pretty high. Some of the old cabinets taken out of peoples homes are priced through the roof. $200 for an old cabinet with missing doors seems pretty steep. May be why they gave so many cabinets back there.

Great staff - awesome service. I took some donations in and the staff was as friendly as you would expect. Spent a few minutes browsing through the store and everything was clean, the greeter & staff were friendly, and there were some great items for sale... everything you'd expect from a great place doing great things for the community. Thanks!

I used to love this place, but it's gone downhill the last two years. Prices are WAY too high for a thrift store, and management is rude. I'll never go back after witnessing the manager screaming at a customer, accusing them and an employee of stealing for taking something off the shelf to put aside before paying for it, instead of paying then taking it off the shelf. I hear some of my favorite employees have left, too, good for them. I hope they found some place better.

I had just moved into my apartment being a single parent and wanted to decorate and have it the way I really wanted it... I’ve been looking for a Chester drawer for my living room and I found the perfect one... let me remind you that this is a second hand store and they’re supposed to be the company that give back to the community.. it was priced at 185. I loved it. I calls back after a week to ask was it still there and if we could debate or if the price can be dropped just a little. And he says that the price is “firm” and that’s just what it is. So to say I was crushed... but I’m still looking

This is not a safe space if you are an individual with autism.

Rude to people with disabilities. Will call the cops on them for no reason at all after making rude comments. Unfriendly and unprofessional staff. Keep your babies safe and stay away from this poor excuse of a store. #Autismawareness

In a nutshell - This non-profit accepts (most) donations from stores, businesses and individual neighbors in our community. They then sell the used items (furniture, appliances, decor etc.) at reasonable bargain prices. Much of the funds are given back to the community through supplies needed to build basic homes for those less fortunate. Most of the physical labor is from kind, caring volunteers in our area . They are God loving, faithful, caring and giving citizens, who are polite, respectful and all around great folks!

Customer service is terrible. Employees are disrespectful and condescending. The executive director and store manager show now prowess. Store has no variety of anything, appliances and items are dirty, torn, or have a pungent smell. Appalled at the experience I had at this store, and will likely never return to a ReStore

I like the mission of this store and sometimes take donations. They have rearranged the layout on the floor and have signs from ceiling to help you find housewares or hardware, etc. Items are displayed so you dont have to dig through piles. A note: they do not take clothing donations here. On my way in I noticed a sign that donations now need to be taken to warehouse in back, but since it was just a bag a small box, I was invited to bring them to the counter. Update 5/15/19 - they have just started taking clothing donations. Also, they have huge influx of items from departing university students. Lots of small microwaves, furniture and other items. Super friendly and helpful staff.
