Ive visited the bakery a few times, and while some items are better than others, my favorite is the apple strudel. I usually buy half for half the price. However, during my last visit, an unpleasant employee and the manager insisted I pay for half as if it were five slices, making the total nearly the full price. When I explained that I had previously bought half at half price, they said a new employee shouldn t have sold it that way. I appreciate the kind service from the first two visits, but I wont return after this experience. As another review pointed out, there are plenty of good bakeries nearby, so treat customers with respect!

Worst service ever for ANY place of business. I returned this morning for a second chance and sure enough, the two workers moved as fast as grass growing when there were only three people in line. Get your act together. There are lots of other bakeries just as good and ten times more competent and deserving

Sooo good and incredible service! I wanted a little sweet treat on the way home and walked out with 7 pastries, all delicious. We made it out with a mixture of the cold case pastries and countertop pastries, you really can t go wrong. Without the tiny bit of self control I do have I would ve gotten one of everything in that place. What seemed like the owner helped us alongside a lovely male worker answering every ridiculous question I had with joy. I will definitely be back to try all the other items I had my eye on. Also, I get a Kouign-amann every time anywhere I see them and this was the BEST Kouign-amann I ve ever had.

Based on a recommendation from an Austrian friend, he said to go to Emils and try the croissants and bread. I was very impressed with the items I ordered, the chocolate croissant and baquette. Standing in line, a gentleman came in and grabbed a Rasberry Granola Bar immediately, and I asked if they were good. He insisted they were the best, so I added one for a snack today. The store is packed with German fruit preserves and sour krout along with a whole section of amazing pastries. There are half dozen small tables on the patio for those who cant wait to get the pastries home.

Amazingly delicious and beautiful pastries! I had an espresso and the Apricot Almond Square -- apricot halves, on a light, flaky pastry. The best!! The chef also makes mini versions of most of the pastries that are perfect for the dessert table at holiday parties, like his mini (about 2 bites) lemon meringue pies and colorful fruit tarts. They also have a nice selection of quiches, croissants, freshly baked breads and rolls too. Very friendly staff. Shaded little outside tables to sit down and enjoy your pastries and coffee. Theres also a small European deli section inside with excellent jams, including hard to find rosehip jam/fruit spread from Germany. At the back of the shop is a wall of hilarious (some NSFW) greeting cards --much funnier cards than youll find at the drug store! Laughter is the best medicine, along with a delicious pastry!

Great pastries, terrible service. We ve been coming here for weeks for coffee and treats in the afternoon. Not once were we recognized or greeted in a friendly manner. After one especially nasty incident with the person behind the counter treating us like an inconvenience, we decided not to come back. We are happily taking our afternoon break at the Stonehaus now. Much friendlier and pleasing atmosphere.

Quality is good, service is not - the staff is decidedly unfriendly - also what is really disturbing is that on any of the products on the shelves no pricing is stated. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that in food retail pricing must be clearly marked at visible to the buyer. It is very cumbersome to have to ask staff thats not particularly friendly from the get go.

Pastries are good.. Everything else that I havent tried looks amazing too. However, dont bother with the panini sandwiches. For what you pay for, the sandwich had zero redeeming qualities.. no salad dressing for the side salad etc..instead go to agoura deli next door for a sandwich.

When you walk into this Bakery you can automatically tell this place is the real deal. When I look around to see sacks of flour piled up against the wall I immediately know I have chosen the right place to stop. I bought a 16oz Cappuccino and Nutella twist. Both are excellent. The twist is light and flakey with a little bit of sweetness from the Nutella. The Cappuccino is smooth and just the right temperature. This is 5 stars for sure, I will probably make this my go to place before work.

Pastries and muffins are exceptional. Staff - unprofessional and just... mean! Went in for muffins and scones, they had one last scone, a berry one. Chose that- kitchen staff came out, snatched from girl who was serving me, put it in a bag and screamed THATS MINE!!. Girl who was serving me said - but that lady just bought it. Kitchen meano said to me: ITS MINE!! there are none left and went back into the kitchen. Wow. Just wow. Horrible experience. Make something up or at least- Im sorry this has been reserved for my lunch. Something better than that! Wrote to manager, but no response so obviously they encourage that behaviour.

This is german bakery I discovered recently looking for bread. They have several types of bread, sourdough and french style. Very crunchy! They also have other delicacies, apple strudel, cupcakes and danish style cakes. It might be on the higher price level but it is worth the money and I like to treat me from time to time. I ordered a custom birthday cake for my son that was tailored to his very detailed request (very picky this boy!). Espresso coffee, a variety of coffees and chocolats are some of the items you can find here.

She offered me some bread to go with it and made me the most stupendous mocha coffee with a shot of black cherry and I got some chocolate bottom macaroons. Ms. Lia gave me great suggestions on how to eat muesli cereal with a healthy twist plus chia like breakfast in a Mason jar. Wonderful sharing staffs @ the store. Mr. Kai Deming, local college grad, is super friendly and patient with answering questions. Mr. Deming also made suggestions for some bakery choices. Ive learned so much about German Tolle cake during Christmas. Kai also shared his experiences when he stayed in Alaska for his studying. Check out the fabulous traditional Austrian/ German bakery. Must try their pretzels according to the owners recommendations. German style...pretzels with sweet mustard in the morning plus a cup of your favorite coffee. Pinkberry fro-yort inside the bakery store, too. Bought my kids favorite creme brulee. Definitely try lemon meringue tart, princess cake, eclairs, and so many other goodie choices. The Bake house is great place to meet old friends and new. I met my kids kindergarten classmate whos super nice and friendly. Also reconnected with her parents while shopping for desserts. Support local merchants and youll be surprised whom you might see at the shop. 5 stars customer services and great locale to hang out.

Our daughter and her partner went around Agoura Hills and surrounding areas in search of desserts to serve after their small backyard ceremony. Emils is THE PLACE to go! We had their carrot cake, which I thought was the best choice UNTIL I had their famous strawberry shortcake! We also had a chocolate mousse (very tasty!) and an assortment of fruit tartlets (which you can choose the fruits) Emils Tati was such a pleasure to work with. She offered up a number of options. Plus, this is COVID-19 time so she created individual boxes, for no sharing. We will definitely stop in to get treats!

We have tried the blueberry muffins (my wife thinks are terrific), the chocolate chip croissant (that I think is one of the best I have tasted), the fruit tart, challah bread, quiche and their brownies. Everything was very fresh, made with fresh ingredients, look inviting and best of all taste better than great. They have very good coffee and make their own hot chocolate that is terrific. Ive been a few times and cant wait to go back and try more.

There is nothing more satisfying for a coffee break than an espresso and a fresh, buttery croissant. I was thrilled to find a new bakery in Agoura Hills that knows how to make both properly. Its easy to forget what a croissant should taste like after eating donut shop offerings. Emils pastry chef knows his craft. Just walking into the bakery and inhaling the wonderful aroma wafting from the kitchen was luxurious. I took my espresso and croissant outside to a table to relax and enjoy my break from the office. I could easily compare Emils to a number of cafes I visited in Paris, except Agoura Hills in December is exponentially nicer than Paris. An added plus is the staff is also nicer, and laughed at my feeble attempt to order in French, where Parisians glared within disdain, forcing me to point, although I was certain they all spoke English. Bon appetite!
