Place is great inside. Other than a few awesome servers, service has an increasingly cold, disingenuous vibe. Sat outside in the cold lastime(our choice) but surprised to find heaters had no propane. Won't be rushing back.

Service was ok, our server (Jessica W.) was not as friendly with us as she was with her other tables around us, we heard her give everyone the same welcoming speech around us. Asking if they had been there before how they were, until she got to our table. She was dry never asked if we had been there before or if we had questions, but we didn’t let it affect our breakfast or our mood and I am glad we didn’t because the food was amazing and the restaurant ambiance was very warm and cozy.

We ordered egg white omelette, avocado toast and a Dutch baby. Everything was seasoned well, fresh and tasted delicious.

We visited Sunrose for the first time on a Sunday morning during brunch prime time so it was pretty busy. We had a reservation so we didn’t have to wait which was great.

The hostess brought us to our table and the table hadn’t been cleaned yet, so we were left there waiting in the dining area for a bit until someone came to wipe it off. It was awkward standing around other people’s tables.

A server arrived within a reasonable time after we were seated to give us menus and take our drink order. Our coffees came after about 10 mins but they were put into regular drinking glasses so we couldn’t drink them until they cooled down. Way too hot to touch. We overheard the table behind us say the same thing. The gentleman that brought them to us even mentioned they were too hot. I don’t understand why you’d serve someone a piping hot coffee in a glass that’s not insulated? They had coffee cups and that’s very dangerous to both the employees and customers! I’m honestly shocked that the server was able to hold them as long as he did without dropping them.

I ordered the breakfast burrito and seasonal fruit bowl, and my husband ordered the brioche French toast. My food was great, definitely recommend the burrito. My husband mentioned the French toast was crispy on the outside and soggy in the middle and didn’t have a lot of fruit on top. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be.

The service was ok. It was very busy so I was trying to take that into consideration. Everyone was nice, just took a while and we had to ask for silverware and I had to grab sugars and to go boxes from the cart on my own.

They had a DJ who played some really good music! It was low key and had a good beat.

I will definitely go back, but there is definitely a little room for improvement.

Sunrose California Eatery is everything I could want in a coastal California dining experience! From the fresh, locally sourced ingredients to the laid-back yet stylish atmosphere, it’s an absolute gem that captures the heart and soul of California’s coastline.

We started with a Watermelon Refesher, which can be made with or without gin. And then the Patatas Bravas—crisp on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside, and paired with a whipped ricotta that was just the right level of creaminess. Then came the Crispy Salmon, perfectly seared and served over a bed of vibrant, seasonal veggies. The flavors were bright, fresh, and balanced, as though each ingredient was handpicked that morning.

The star of the night, though, was the Miso Chicken Salad. I never thought a simple salad could be so memorable, but the Thai basil was bursting with flavor, and the carrots and shallots were decadently crispy. Paired with a drizzle of local olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt, it was pure California on a plate.

The setting couldn’t have been better. With large french doors opening onto a sunlit atrium with a water feature and contemporary decor, Sunrose California Eatery makes you feel like you’re right at home by the sea. And the staff was as wonderful as the food—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the dishes they serve.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is a must. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that captures the beauty, flavors, and spirit of California’s coast. I go back now every chance I get!

I truly didn’t want to leave a negative review for this restaurant, and I gave them several chances to improve. Unfortunately, each visit proved to be a disappointment. On my first visit, they completely forgot about my group of five; after taking our order, the waiter returned an hour later to take it again. The second time, we were served black, burnt salmon that was inedible—quite embarrassing! On the third visit, one of the meals was completely missing. Lastly, the Dutch baby pancake was undercooked and doughy, which was unappetizing. Based on these experiences, I will not be returning.

We came here in the evening after finding out the wait time at Basta was an hour long. And boy did we enjoy it. The staff from the greeter to our waiter everyone were a delight to talk to.
Now to the food. They have these home made vinegar potato chips that are superb. We ordered the late early summer flat bread that we loved and the hunger steak frites came with a fresh salad and tasty garlic fries. We loved the ambiance. Apparently this is a breakfast place that closes around 8 pm. I would make a suggestion to keep it open a little later because the vibe is just right and perfect for big parties.

I’ve been here 3 times with my girlfriend already in the last 2 weeks. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the view is great, the staff are sweet and most importantly, the food is amazing. It’s the perfect breakfast/brunch spot to go to. Emily and Jessica were such sweethearts to us, making sure we had everything we needed. The owner always comes around to make us feel welcomed, he even let us have a taste of their Orange Polenta (which was gluten free and amazing). I can’t believe this place isn’t known by everyone at this point, it really is a hidden gem. I’d make sure to have a reservation on the weekends since they tend to get quite busy then, otherwise, enjoy the food!

Great new neighborhood restaurant!
Just got back from a delicious meal at the Sunrose California Eatery. Loved sitting at the bar for an informal dinner with hubby…Early Summer Flatbread with nectarine, ricotta, arugula, and balsamic drizzle, which was super tasty, and the Thai Peanut Chicken Pasta was delicious.

It has a bright and relaxed atmosphere with seating inside and outside in the atrium. We sat at the bar and Gavan the bartender was really knowledgeable about the beer and wine selection and even let us taste a few before choosing what we liked.

Owners Mark and Carrie were around and super friendly—they really made us feel welcome. Nice mix of good food, good people, and good atmosphere. Plus, they have a happy hour from 2-6 pm Thursday through Saturday, they take reservations, and there’s plenty of parking. Look forward to going back.

Sunrose California Eatery is an absolute gem outside of LA in Agoura Hills and it's redefining what it means to enjoy breakfast. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, inviting ambiance that sets the tone for a perfect start to your day. The service is exceptional, with staff who are attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making your dining experience memorable.

Now, let's talk about the food. The eggs, bacon, and potatoes here are simply the best I've ever had. The eggs are farmed incredibly and cooked to perfection, with a rich, velvety texture that complements the crispy, savory bacon. The potatoes are a standout, perfectly crispy on the outside while tender on the inside. Every bite is a delightful experience that leaves you wanting more.

My wife has been on several occasions and had the steak and eggs. The steak is cooked to a perfect medium rare with just the right amount of salt. She also had the avocado toast. She doesn't eat bread just anywhere but will here! It doesn't bother her sensitive stomach. The blackberries are also juicy and make your taste buds remember what they should taste like.

We enjoyed the coconut milk latte today. Everything there is made with high quality ingredients!

Overall, Sun Rose California Eatery is a must-visit for anyone in the area. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place promises a breakfast experience that you'll rave about for days. Don't miss out on this culinary delight!

What an amazing experience. I was at Sunrose the other evening for a spectacular New Dinner experience for my self at the restaurant and for Sunrose as well. This was the first time they decided to open up for dinner and the food and the service were spectacular. The presentation and the explanation of all of the meals as well as the drinks on the list were done very professionally. The former handled by the owner and our waitress and the latter by the bartender coming to our table.
I have been at Sunrose for coffee and breakfast and I hope they find time to continue having some nights for dinner moving forward. Thank you again Mark for a great evening.

Maybe it was a bad morning but genuinely some of the worst service I’ve had at a restaurant. Servers had no communication between each other at all, seemed like no one knew who was responsible for what. Waited 15mins for a server and only came when I asked them for one. For its price food was very standard with little bright spots and wasn’t worth the long wait. The breakfast burrito was way too much egg and too small for $18. All the other food we had the table presentation wise which included the French Toast and Burger was great but was very underwhelming in flavor. I know this place is rated highly but I would not recommend it to anyone.

The potatoes were actually good and probably the best thing there. The French toast was not good at all. They brought it over with the most minimal amount of syrup too. Kind of annoying to keep asking for more syrup. The French toast was dry on the inside. It was like a cake. How Do you screw up French toast? I don't know. I'm not a chef but I've made better French toast myself. Also waaaaay too pricey for what you get.

The food here just not good. It’s a place to come and have coffee and pastries. Non of the dishes we ordered was a good dish. You can see and taste that ingredients are not fresh. I even returned the salad I ordered because the chicken was definitely expired or about to be. It really tasted bad. The butternut soup served with pomegranate seeds on top which each one of these seeds was looking like it had better days. Why to even add it to the soup if it’s looking and tasting like it was expired a week ago?
The coffees were delicious but again, they are served in thin glass cups which is beautiful but my glass was chipped. This is super dangerous and if I would not noticed it prior I would probably get a cut from it.

My trip to Sunrose for brunch wasn't as sunny as I hoped. The service was slow, and the food wasn't tasty. The French toast was bland and hard, like cardboard. Even though the menu sounded nice, the actual food was basic and not worth the wait. I won't be going back to Sunrose for brunch again.

As we awaited our order, time seemed to stretch, and even a simple request to warm the coffee turned into a saga, complete with multiple reminders and a 20-minute intermission.

The pièce de résistance, the French toast, arrived with all the fanfare of a deflated soufflé. Instead of the anticipated symphony of flavors, we were treated to a lackluster rendition that tasted more like cardboard than culinary excellence. To add insult to injury, what was promised as a culinary masterpiece on the menu turned out to be a mundane bowl of hummus with a boiled egg perched atop—a dish as basic as a Sunday morning crossword puzzle.

In conclusion, while Sunrose may excel in poetic menu descriptions, its execution falls flat, leaving brunch aficionados like myself yearning for more than just a mediocre meal. As for me, I'll be taking my taste buds elsewhere in search of brunch bliss. Au revoir, Sunrose.

This family owned business is very welcoming and well decorated. It really sets the vibe for your day! The Chai Lavender latte is amazing! So fluffy and perfectly sweetened. The white omelette was delicious and not your normal omelette. This place is a what the California lifestyle is all about. Healthy, fresh and bright.

Great new spot in Agoura, it’s located next to the Canyon. The service is amazing and the staff is super friendly. Food is fresh and delicious, we tried the egg salad toast, breakfast burrito, fig toast, and Mediterranean. My favorite though is the Rosemary Latte with coconut milk, sooo good!

They’re only open for breakfast and lunch so come early 😀. The free guest wifi is great too! I’m able to hang out on the lounge area and do some work

Ahoy there, fellow flavor enthusiasts! 🌞🌹 Anchor's away at Sunrose, the new culinary captain on the block, steering a tight ship right where our beloved veggie joint used to dock. I recently embarked on a maiden voyage here and, let me tell you, it's all aboard the flavor express!

First off, the 'Dutch Baby' isn't just fantastic – it's a masterpiece! Imagine a pancake and a soufflé had a delicious baby; that's what we're talking about. It's the kind of dish that makes you wonder if you should write a thank-you note to the chef or name your firstborn after it.

Special shout-out to the dynamic duo of Max and Jen – these culinary navigators provided service that was nothing short of amazing. Their attentive and friendly demeanor added that extra sprinkle of sunshine to the already delightful meal.

But wait, there's more on the horizon! The menu is like a treasure map, with tantalizing options that beckon for future explorations. Each dish seems to whisper sweet nothings of 'pick me next time!' – a siren call for the taste buds.

The environment? It's like walking into a warm hug, with a side of fresh air if you opt for outdoor seating. Whether you're a sun worshipper or a shade seeker, they've got you covered, literally.

In a nutshell, Sunrose is where good vibes and great food meet for a breakfast rendezvous. Can't wait to dive into more of their menu offerings. If you haven't dropped anchor here yet, what are you waiting for? Set sail for Sunrose and thank me later!

LOVE Sunrose Eatery! The design gets you immediately upon walking into the gorgeous Whizin Market, the restaurant itself is calming and warm, with a chic Scandinavian inspired design with a cool California twist. Marc and Carie the owners are the nicest and very attentive, as is the whole team there. The food is Spectacular with a yummy breakfast menu and unique, tasty lunch menu. All the ingredients are fresh and delightfully sourced. I haven't been disappointed in any choice I've made so far (been here already 4 times). Each experience has been wonderful, wether dining solo or with a group of friends. Also the cocktails are very pretty and equally delicious. The bar is gorgeous too! A must visit wether you're a local or making a drive to a gorgeous setting in Agoura Hills.
(*Tip-Park in the back of the Whizin Market, plenty of parking. The lot directly in front can get busy)

My recent visit to Sunrose California Eatery in Agoura Hills left me with a lasting impression of a culinary haven. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff set the stage for a delightful dining experience. The egg salad and avocado toast were a perfect start, showcasing quality and flavor. The Sunrose Salad was a refreshing burst of freshness. The chicken was perfectly fried to a golden crispiness, and the curry infusion added a unique twist that set it apart from traditional fried chicken. Sunrose California Eatery in Agoura Hills is a gem for those seeking a culinary escape with a California touch. Whether you're a fan of traditional flavors or looking to explore innovative combinations, this eatery has something to offer. I left with a satisfied palate and a desire to return to explore more of their menu.

Sunrose California eatery was a pleasant surprise! Delicious food and wonderful setting!
My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time today! We will definitely be back! We came for lunch and we were immediately impressed by the pleasant open concept feel! The menu had a creative twist that was very refreshing. We split the Miso chicken chopped salad that was amazing, as well as the crispy sweet potatoes with honey and whipped ricotta which was delicious and nothing we have ever had before. Additionally, they have an attached coffee/bakery/gift shop and my husband ordered an Americano, and it did not disappoint. He is a self-proclaimed coffee snob. If you are looking for a delightul dining experience in Agoura Hills, this is a great choice. I can't wait to share my experience with everyone I know. Oh and the service was outstanding!!! It's refreshing to have a restaurant these days that does it right!!

I’ve eaten here twice recently.
The first time I had breakfast with my family. The scrambled eggs were so salty, the toast was so soaked in butter I did not eat either.
I thought I’d try again so I went with a friend for brunch.
My coffee was cold, my friend asked for tea and only got hot water. By the time she got the tea bag the water was cold.
Our wait person was very nice but hard to find. My friend wanted salt and got frustrated trying to get some brought to the table.
The avacado toast was good. I felt the cost was high…
The decor is lovely , however ,
I will not be going back…

After visiting Sunrose three times, I feel comfortable saying “I finally found my favorite breakfast/brunch/lunch eatery!” Too bad they don’t do dinner.
I've been waiting so long for a place like this that served high quality food. I've become so bored with the basic American breakfast. Sunrose is exactly what our area needed: A relaxed California style eatery with truly amazing and unique food options. Every time I visited this place, I ordered something different and every time I was more impressed. I can’t wait to try each and every dish.

I was excited to try this place but it was so disappointing. I ordered an iced chai tea latte with almond milk and it was the worst ever. It had like 1% chai and the rest was almond milk lol. I returned the chai latte and ordered a lemonade. What I got was straight lime juice... it was so sour and I was not able to enjoy it and was embarrassed to return another drink so I settled for water. The food was super bland and had no flavor. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because the customer service was really great and everyone was super welcoming and nice.

My friend happened by opening weekend and loved it so we both went this weekend. It was great. They were SUPER busy and a bit over whelmed. We did need to wait a bit to place our order and I had to get up and get the cream for my coffee. There is a little coffee and Pastry section and everything was there. Maybe it is set up to grab your own?

Food and drinks were pretty terrible. The quality of the meat was low, size was small, taste not flavorful and the burger was soggy. The mimosa was not good at all. We were very surprised.

The service was good when the waiters were present but then they would disappear for a long time and not come even with eye contact.

I thought the atmosphere was pretty good but it didn’t compensate for the poor food and service.

Great new spot, feels like a true trendy LA spot that is finally out this way! One complaint, being a restaurant that claims to use great quality food, fresh, etc. I was really disappointed at their use of seeds oils/canola oil. Really hoping more restaurants esp ones like these with quality ingredients can use better for you oils like olive oil!

Good food, good staff, good time, good overall. I would say that I hunt for more options at restaurants, this one has less options than what I want, and I guess just not as stand out in the meal itself too but is good, I would say go there for some tasty food.

Update,
I came again because it was nice to be there with the entire feel being nice, and so I got a different food item called the egg salad toast, which was great. I recommend having the toasts if you like them, and seeing a delicious outcome.

Had to go check out this new place I’d already been hearing about and that was because they just had their soft opening. Great atmosphere, relaxing place to hang out, great customer service. I will definitely be back to work my way down their menu. The Rosemary latte was out of this world. It was perfect, I loved the fresh Rosemary smell and taste. I don’t normally eat fried chicken but thought I’d give this a try because it was matched will all my favorites- tzatziki, pickled onions and cucumbers. It had a slight curry flavor, the chicken was deliciously tender and crispy. I would have enjoyed even more of the pickled onions and cucumbers on top. It really compliments the dish nicely.

This place is amazing. The restaurant is beautiful as is the place in which it is located. All the seating is fantastic. The staff is warm and welcoming and will make you feel like family. But on to the food, because that's what really matters. I had a little of everything. The curry fried chicken with tzatziki is next level. This mixture of flavors was kind of mind blowing. I forget what it's called on the menu, but what amounts to Hamachi (yellow tail) carpaccio was equally fantastic, a bit spicy maybe for some with the jalapenos but that's just the way I like it. Pork belly sandwich was also great, though maybe could be fried a bit crispier. But the sauce on it was a game changer. Some other patrons actually invited me to try their crispy potatoes (that's how friendly people were) and they were PERFECT. All of these things were great, but there was something otherwise unassuming that really stole the show... the breakfast burrito. Combine those perfect crispy potatoes with some of the most amazing bacon I've ever had (smoky, maple-y, sooo good) and it actually shocked me how good it was.

Don't sleep on this place. This is a great addition to the community.
