I always order takeout at Kopan but tonight was a first ordering from this location. Let’s just say everything was a disaster! I ordered sweet shrimp because my husband loves to eat the head. But this time we didn’t get any! Also are you really this poor? One scallop cut in two to serve two pieces? Really? With the price I pay this is pathetic.

As soon as you walk in, it looks like you’re at a Sushi restaurant in Tokyo. Their tuna rice bites were my favorite. All the rolls were delicious too.

The staff was quick to serve and always attentive. Can’t find anything to critique.

The decoration surprised me so much. It made me feel like I had been to 🇯🇵 in Japan

🌟 Their signature fried fish isn't on the menu, but it's really crispy and delicious, and this is the first time I've tasted it!

🌟 It's also good value, especially for happy hour, which has a lovely hand-drawn menu

Amazing Izakaya Experience – Highly Recommend!
I had a fantastic experience at this izakaya. Each dish was prepared to perfection and brought unique flavors to the table:
Black Cumin Snapper: A must-try! The snapper was perfectly fried—crispy outside, juicy inside—with fragrant, well-balanced spices and a tangy-sweet sauce that gave it a fusion of Japanese and Thai flavors. Truly surprising and delicious.
Negitoro Donburi: This is my go-to dish at any izakaya, and this place delivered perfectly. The fatty tuna was fresh, sweet, and beautifully prepared.
Ginza Sushi: An impressive and aesthetically pleasing sushi platter. All 12 pieces were fresh and well-crafted, and the price was surprisingly reasonable.
Stuffed Avocado: A standout appetizer! The avocado was perfectly ripe, and the grilled fish paste topping made it a great complement for drinks.
Okinawa Sashimi: The sashimi platter was incredible, especially the Otoro. Each slice was thick, fatty, and rich, providing an indulgent experience.
The food quality, presentation, and taste exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a high-quality izakaya experience!

Had dinner here last night and it was amazing. The place really captures that real Japanese Izakaya vibe—cozy and incredibly welcoming. Overall, I'd give it a solid 9.5 out of 10. We tried a variety of dishes—sushi, sashimi, pork curry rice, and the standout Black Snapper that just blew us away! It came highly recommended by the staff and did not disappoint. You absolutely must try the Black Snapper; it’s truly something special. This spot offers a great mix of raw and cooked options, perfect for dining with friends or family.

Been to a few Kopan ramen restaurants and they're consistently good. Never been disappointed by their dishes. Ordered curry which was good. It was a thinner sauce that coated the rice nicely. Would definitely recommend. Parking at this particular location is a bit tough though.

Rice was too dry not like good soft silky rice a Japanese Restaurant would serve. Pork cutlet that I ordered was more like a chicken katsu than a good piece of pork chop.

Their Ramen is ok but what was disappointing was their Unagi Bowl. When when brought it out I thought it was a joke! The portion was so small I had to laugh. Needless to say I had to reorder a bowl of Ramen because the joke of an Unagi bowl would not of filled a 4 year old. Yeah, that's right that's a soy sauce container next to the bowl.

Different ramen comes with different ramen noodles. I especially like the spicy miso ramen. It's just right with spiciness, and the noodles are the curly, chewy ones. The tonkotsu noodles are a more straight and soft type of noodle. The chicken kiraage is okay. The sushi is good but comes in a small portion. The booths typically fit 4 people with a little extra room, or maybe 6 max with no extra space. There is a bar-looking area tou can sit at though. Parking is small, but you can probably just park at the plaza across from it.

The sushi was good. The sukiyaki was disappointing because beef didn't smell fresh and was cut so thinly that it fell apart and looked like ground beef, which made the broth cloudly and unappetizing. Service was very slow even though I went off peak at night.

I ordered a 18 dollar(naked roll) and this is what I got (top roll) 6 peices super small portion, way smaller than what I expected and smaller than the spicy tuna roll(bottom roll) last time I order a sushi roll at this place. Not sure what happened here but this is outrageous to get this for an 18 dollar roll.

Fantastic turn out at Kopan Sushi & Ramen! Noodles were long and filling for an immense appetite for me and my friends! We love the Calamari, it was crunchy and light appetizer, plus the Kura Miso Ramen broth suits our spice loving taste buds along with the sweet bottles of plum sake! Also can’t forget about those dragon rolls & the mango lover rolls, thanks to attentive server’s recommendation, quite delicious!

Korean, not Japanese. That being said, had "spicy" miso ramen and "Jumbo" scallop sushi. Not so spicy, but otherwise spot on! The scallops weren't jumbo size, but if the rice would have had a little more vinegar...it might have been as good tasting as I ever had ( the yuzu kosho was a big factor) ; bar none. I have eaten my fair share, mostly in Japan.

Given the Ramen in the name, I decided to at least get a bowl of ramen even though there are other choices that also looked appetizing.

Unfortunately, the ramen is nothing to write home about. The broth wasn't as rich as I expected, and the noodles were nothing outstanding.

The baked mussels were also disappointing. A better choice would've been to bake oysters since the mussels were overly tender and bland.

I can think of a few places with much better ramen.

This location seems to be busier than the one in West Covina. They offered almost exactly the same items but for this location lacks presentation a little. The rolls were presented nicely but it doesn't seem like the sushi chef's put in a lot of effort. However, compared to other restaurant chains, I would say it still offered more of an above average sushi experience.

The seating for this location is a bit more crowded, if you are a party of 2, they would seat you with another party of 2 in a kinda private area, but since the tables are pretty close it seems a bit awkward.

Freshness of the sushi is okay, I still prefer the other location more.. :( But since it is a chain, you won't need to worry too much about the freshness and consistency of it. Still a good place for dates and hangouts!

Consistency is the major attraction at this Alhambra Kopan Ramen branch. Service and broth tastes better here than at the one in Atlantic Times Square. You can put together your own ramen with the many options available. I just go with the Black Ramen. The Red Ramen is also good.

Visited August 11,2023. They've remodeled and expanded the menu with many more items other than just ramen. The focus is more on pricey rolls, while the ramen flavors seem to have declined. Bento boxes provide the best value for the buck.

Sushi & Ramen?
Two of the best combo! They have a good selection of sushi that are very delicious, also bento boxes if you are choosing to have some type of variety.
If those two don't fit your circle, there is also the ramen selections, that use garlic oil, and solid reach broth that I haven't had elsewhere.

I highly recommend the ramen here! The seats are cute, and very japaneses environment! There is parking in the back (small though, during lunch and dinner hour make sure to give yourself time for street parking otherwise).

My go to spot for sushi and ramen in the area. From my past experience, Japanese restaurants in the area would specialize in either sushi or ramen. But this restaurant not only serves both but also serves them right!

Space: the interior design really capitalize on the Japanese look. They remodeled and have semi private booth divided by rusty wood walls. Seems like they want to simulate a small Japanese town even though we're inside.

Appetizers: The salted edamame was great as usual. The crispy with spicy tuna is fire. The crispy cube of rice at the bottom is CRISPY. Topped with a scoop of spiny tuna and slice of avocado. Different textures and flavor combined gets you started for the meal.

Rolls: We got rainbow, crunch dragon, baked crawfish, and lady in red. I was honestly a bit overwhelmed because everything looks so good on the menu. The waiter gave some recs that helped a lot. This combination of rolls were perfect for us. We had fresh raw fish with rainbow roll, delicious shrimp tempura with crunch dragon, extra crisp onion over spicy tuna with lady in red roll, and rich and creamy crawfish that's baked beautifully. Every item was made with care and technique. The visuals, the fragrance, the flavors, the textures, and quality. Definitely satisfied my tooth for sushi. I cannot wait to come back.

Pricing: They were having a promo of buy 1 roll, get 1 roll half off. Not sure how long it'll last but save us a good amount on the bill! Nevertheless, the pricing is pretty standard for the area. Definitely a $$ kinda place. The quality and quantity was worth it for me.

Side notes: (1) I didn't get ramen this time because I was craving sushi, but I had a blast with their ramen the last time I came. (2) They don't serve sashimi on Mondays.

Busy place. Excellent Ramen. Could have been a little hotter but still quite tasty.
