Came in here in a whim on a Saturday afternoon, kind of bare white set up; employees are kind of humorless/not friendly which is fine but awkward. They were super random over my asking for no sesame seeds on my dish.
Food was also "fine" but nothing amazing. $47 for a cold brew, green eggs and a vegan breakfast sandwich - so not a cheap breakfast but decent portions. But nice to have vegan options even if you will need an antacid for the heavy vinegar dressing.

Love this place. Wish it wasn't so busy. Ha!
Even though it was packed, we still were able to get a table.
So many gf and veg options. Their food is delicious and their drip coffee is perfect.
We split the vegan breakfast burrito and the buckwheat pancakes.
We started with the blueberry corn muffins and that was the right choice!
What a great way to start the day!

Higher end prices but for the quality of the food it's understood. Be prepared to wait 10 minutes if it's busy, the kitchen is tiny and they're hustling. The Menu rotates a bit which I like, addresses freshest local ingredients and keeps me trying new things.
The presentation is lovely, everything I've had so far is delicious and beautiful. Drinks, salads, soups, avocado toast. Tables for 4, seating inside and out. I order to go and walk to the library or similar to enjoy at my leisure on a bench.
Also breakfast all day which is a big deal to find around here!

Nice clean place. Has a NY/Brooklyn coffee shop vibe to it but unfortunately you might not be able to get a seat. Staff were OK but you could tell they really weren't the friendly type. Unfortunately I had hair in the middle of chowing down the buckwheat pancakes. Decent visit but not again which is unfortunate.

I’ve been coming to Amara Kitchen pretty often since moving into the neighborhood. I get the breakfast burrito all the time - typically it’s good and makes for a filling brunch. Although lately, it’s been kinda disappointing. The last 3 times I ordered it they somehow managed to “forget” my order and I have to wait even longer for my food. While that’s totally fine, the end result is that I get a sloppily made burrito that falls apart the moment I hold it up. It’s just not great service :(

I really wanted to like this place but couldn’t get past the rude employees, complete lack of any service, and bland food.
Woman at the register was rude from the moment I started ordering and didn’t know what over medium eggs meant. When I asked her for napkins after she spilled my drink on the table, she rudely said “they’re inside” and didn’t even offer to clean up the mess she made. I also overheard a customer ask where his to-go order was and the employees admitted someone else must’ve stolen it because they didn’t check.
Bad service aside, my egg was over easy after ordering it over medium, side salad hardly had any dressing, and chai late was just cinnamon milk. Needless to say I won’t be coming back here after being disappointed at every step of the process.

Fun little neighborhood cafe. Walking distance from my sissy’s house. Love the bistro street cafe dining where dogs can come too. I’ve been here twice. Once with my sissy and pups, and another time with my mama. Both times amazingly fresh, tasty and healthy foods. My favorite is the vegan Hiho falafel wrap and almond butter brownie. YUM

Never met a grumpier bunch of employees. Have always had great food but the hipsters need to embrace the concept of customer service. Also seriously ridiculous to charge $2.00 for a 2oz side of Salsa.

One of the best (delicious, healthy and nutritious) breakfast ever. They ran out of orange juice but otherwise everything was perfect.

5/5! Came here for breakfast. My husband and I shared the classic breakfast burrito and the vegan breakfast burrito. Both were delicious but we agreed the vegan one was a little more flavorful. The yogurt bowl with their fresh granola and raspberry puree was divine! Order that if you don’t want something so heavy but yet still a great portion size and will fill you up. Coffee was excellent too.

Good service. But if you're used to regular buttermilk pancakes and not vegan/healthy food choices, this place is not for you. The almond paleo pancakes were...different for my palate since I have never had such pancakes before. It came with pistachos, butter, syrup, and some compote which was not the best flavor in my opinion. I do not recommend this plate for those like me who are not familiar with the acquired taste. The breakfast burrito was okay, nothing to rave about. It did come with a lot of avocado mash so that is a plus. The iced matcha latte with the house milk was not good. It lacked flavor and was drying to the mouth.
Other than that, the service was good and fast. The employees seemed nice and the ambient was great. Parking can be found on the street.
I only recommend this place if you are looking for healthy breakfast options.
If you're looking for your standard American breakfast, I suggest Russell's.

Went to this local spot with a friend out of town on 7/27. The cashier was so busy chatting up the barista, she eventually realised we were there. Ordered the falafel wrap to go. The food was ok - the wrap was place on top of an over dressed salad - making it soggy. The falafel was dry, and the cucumbers were cut so large i had to cut them smaller. The place is cute, was suprised thr air conditioner was turned so low considering this appears to be a hyppish place. Friend pointed out there was a person towards the back parkef in a spot with laptop and BARE feet.

Stopped by for a cool icy drink after biking. It's been a scorcher lately...105 degrees. Iced cold brew hit the spot. They have nice healthy lunch options. It was too hot for food so I decided to stick w my ice 🧊 coffee. Treated myself to their pumpkin seed cookie. It was yummy!
Cute little neighborhood coffee spot within the Altadena area.

I wish they were open a lot longer hours than they are. I love the food I love the sweetness of the menu and the decor is lightly contemporary and intelligently subtle.
Yes the pancakes are exceptionally good the bowls are great and beverages are good I really would eat a lot of meals here it’s like getting my own cooking from someone else. What’s not to love? Highly recommended maybe if enough of us love it they’ll stay open later!
We ate here when a rain storm happened outside so we were indoors. I love them too busy all the time and also really appreciate being able to get the casual counter approach to get my orders !

Been going here awhile. It’s good with fresh ingredients though not cheap. I hope they change their menu up soon because there are only a few things I order and see others order (breakfast burrito etc.). I gave it fewer stars bc of the vibe. The boss/owner is always sitting at one of the two bigger booths and it’s a small place. Why occupy space that is for customers everyday? Is there no office to work out of? Then there is the reception at the counter. You may find yourself standing there for awhile even though a service person is right in front of you. No greeting most days, nor a “be right with you”. Typically they will wait for you to speak first. So strange…basic customer service generates a sense of being welcomed, or even just acknowledged. Not asking for someone to be obsequious. When your food gets delivered silently it may all start to feel like the customer isn’t rly valued.

I really like supporting local businesses, especially when they're within walking distance. But I must say, the coffee was mediocre at best and the muffin was a travesty! The price doesn't make it worth it either. As a vegetarian, it's places like this that help me understand why people don't stick with vegetarianism or veganism, when hot sand is more palatable.

Always great to have options for paleo, gluten free, dairy free that ACTUALLY taste good and aren’t a pain to ask for. The buckwheat and paleo pancakes were both very tasty. The burritos were also very tasty even with the gluten free wrap which had been a bit tough to find at times. Excited to check out more of their options.

Great little restaurant! A friend of mine recommended the Highland Park location, so I was exited to try out the one coming to ‘dena! The line was short, the place was really clean and pretty, all of the employees kept their social distance and wore masks, and the bathrooms were really nice. All of the food was absolutely delicious, almost all of it is vegetarian all though there are some meat options, and everything is locally sourced! The orange juice tasted like someone was squeezing an actual orange into my mouth. There are no outdoor seating options yet, so my mother and I walked over to triangle park and they texted us when the food was ready. Overall, excellent experience, 10/10 would recommend, felt totally COVID safe, and the food was delicious!
