Drop “inn” for hearty American fare the whole family will love—and in the morning the restaurant features a lively Character Breakfast with some favorite Disney friends.
Disneyland’s in-park restaurants, snacks, and drinks can be a bit pricey, but there are still some gems worth trying. I’ve previously written a review of Flo’s V8 Café in Disney California Adventure for its tasty fried chicken and relatively affordable prices. This time, I wanted to highlight Plaza Inn in Disneyland Park. While it offers a Character Dining Buffet during breakfast (reservation required, $50 for adults and $30 for kids), for lunch and dinner, it’s more of a quick-service spot. You can walk in, order your meal, and take it to your table, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is beautiful and elegant —perfect for photos!
In the afternoon, we ordered the Fried Chicken Plate. It was more filling than expected, with three pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, a buttermilk biscuit, and green beans, all for $19.99. The portion is perfect for 1-2 people, and my husband and I shared it as an afternoon snack—it was just right! Our friends also ordered the same dish, and if you have kids, there’s a more affordable Kid’s Menu option. For example, one of the kids in our group got the Penne Pasta for $7.99.
If anyone in your group has food allergies (e.g., eggs, dairy, peanuts, fish, etc.), make sure to let the cashier know when ordering. They offer allergy-friendly meal options, and you can also find detailed allergen information directly in the Disneyland app for substitutions.

Returning from a long day at the park, this was the only restaurant open. I was the very last customer, for the chef was kind enough to stay open past set hours to make me a meal. I was fortunate enough to receive a large fresh array of dishes for that dinner all because of that kind, generous head-chef. A bowl of penne pasta with tomato sauce, a plate of carrots-white rice-honey pepper salmon-and gluten free bread, a salad , a serving of fruit and milk was served to me by the chef. I owe him a huge appreciation for finishing that long day with a meal I will forever remember. The food was extremely delicious and not because I was hungry but because the head chef put his time and best effort into cooking it. No doubt about it do I recommend this eatery to anyone who is looking for a hearty meal. All the dinner options were reasonably priced for the large portion sizes.

No dairy option! 🤩 WOW! I really didn’t think they’ll take it under consideration that we had a dairy allergy. The front host asked who was the one with the allergy & made sure we didn’t get out of our seat until the chef talked to us. We sat down & again were reminded to wait for the chef. The chef came along & offered us meals without milk. The chef came back with the same food but VEGAN!😍 Vegan Mickey Mouse waffles, no milk eggs, no milk potato’s! We were very impressed by the service, took all my worries away! Even after we got served, the chef came back around numerous time’s to make sure we were good. The service in here is over the top! We had breakfast with Minnie & friends. My daughters loved it!

Theme parks are not normally known for having amazing or affordable food, but Plaza Inn at Disneyland might have one of the highest value items served there. The 3 piece fried chicken platter with a breast, thigh, and leg with a scoop of mashed potatoes and gravy, a side of string beans, and a biscuit for $19.49 is definitely the best deal there.
Trust me - the fried chicken is really really tasty. And the side dishes are delicious as well! Forget all the other gimmicky options at the park and just go to Plaza Inn for the fried chicken! It's even large enough to split between 2 people so you don't get too full. It won't disappoint!

Plaza Inn restaurant is one of my favorites for satisfying a hungry tummy in Disneyland and probably the best value! Our latest visit was during lunchtime, and the classic entrée was still the chicken plate. Service is cafeteria style, where you grab a tray and go to the entrée lines. There's plenty of seating indoors and shaded tables outdoors, with decent viewing of parades and fireworks.
The Cast Members at the entrance will control how many guests are inside so it's manageable and smooth. Salads and desserts are available in the middle area- the main entrée lines are along the back, and drinks are on either side of the entrée lines. Sadly, there is no more a la carte on the chicken pieces or sides. Our little ones enjoyed their kids' plates.
Recent food we tried:
Chicken Plate, $19.49: This is a classic plate with savory fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
Salmon with Lemon Butter Dill-Caper Sauce, $18.99 - The salmon was a little dry this time, and the sauce only helped a little. It was just okay.
Key Lime Tart: $7.49—This comforting dessert has a balanced tart and sweet taste. It's worth getting.
Pixar Fest Cake: Look cool but very sweet if that's your jam!
If you plan to eat outside the restaurant, you can also have your entrées or desserts placed in take-out containers. However, you can still ask the cashiers for to-go containers if you need them.
Magic Key pass holder discounts apply! Character Breakfast is also offered with reservations. It is a fun experience for the young and young at heart.

For a restaurant at Disneyland, definitely giving this a 5/5 for for the quality and quantity! Not a lot of menu choices but what they offer is hearty, whole food that leaves you feeling full and satiated unlike your typical park food that you pat so much for, don't get a lot of, and then you're hungry an hour later. Husband got the Fried Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, Biscuit, and he got a slice of carrot cake to split with me. Was some of the best food I've had compared to even most other high end restaurants and for $20, that entree was so worth it! I got the same Dinner entree except I did grilled salmon with lemon butter sauce in lieu of fried chicken and I'd come back for it again!
My salmon was 18.99 and again so worth it! We added two side salads got one drink and the added slice of carrot cake so all in all it was $65 after tax, self service, may be hard to get a table when crowded but other than that i absolute recommend this place!

We usually have lunch or dinner here. You wait and then order inside like a cafeteria. The entrees are generous and decently priced for Disneyland. We like the fried chicken plate with fried chickens, mash potatoes and green beans and a biscuit. Great deal and very tasty!! Highly recommend. They also have indoor seating if you are cold or hot but it s first come first serve. This trip we decided to try the peppermint cake which was sadly not worth the money nor calories. Not good at all. So disappointed. Stick to the entrees and you ll enjoy it!

Very disappointed! I thought this was a character breakfast like goofy s kitchen. The apple juice was watered down. The omelettes were very wet. You have to get your own drinks and clear off your tables. The table across from us was dirty for 1 hour. People kept sticking dirty trays on it. Very disappointing was not worth the money. The only good thing was the characters. Would not recommend.

Best food for breakfast and dinner inside the park. We love the character breakfast, the best one for inside the park. Weve never had problems getting into this place with or without reservations. They accommodated us every time. The breakfast selection is probably the best in the park. It is not an all you can eat buffet. Its cafeteria style where you pick up what you want and pay for it. But the quality is much better than a cafeteria. This is also the best fried chicken on the planet. I usually dont miss coming for that. The CMs are always nice and helpful. The location is perfect as its at the end of Main Street, close to the entrance, for when you need to get there for breakfast. But also central enough to be easily accessible for other times in the day. Its very beautiful inside but we also enjoy being outside on nice days.

We had the best experience at this restaurant because of Liz and the Chef. We were able to customize our food due to medical necessity and there was NO problem at all. At the register, we had the most incredible service from Liz who made sure, by asking us, if we found everything we were looking for and making relevant recommendations for food and drink. Wed already had a pretty brutal day waiting in ride lines, being turned away by other eating establishments and we are super thankful to have found this place. The whole place is clean, friendly staff, good food, and Liz! Thank you Plaza Inn and Liz for making our visit MAGIC. Dietary restrictions: Certain members of our party cant have dairy and Liz along with the Chef made sure we only got the food we could have. And Liz was very understanding and patient... Kid-friendliness: The staff are very accepting and accommodating of children.

My family and I booked the character brunch on Thursday morning. Unfortunately it was insanely overpriced for very underwhelming food. The only fresh thing offered was the made to order omelette, the lovely man who was making them was really friendly and up for a chat. Unfortunately most of the other staff didn t seem to like their jobs which is a shame. I d recommend saving your money and just finding the characters throughout the park.

In fact after seeing many characters twice, when Perla came by, we thought she was Suzy again, even though we discussed the fact she was wearing a purple dress like our daughter. Sorry, Perla! The characters did a great job engaging. It wasnt too crowded, and we didnt at all feel rushed. The breakfast was delicious, especially the omelet. The included Minnie photo is great, too! We saw Minnie, Daisy, Dale, Chip, Eeyore, Suzy, Perla, Tigger, and Pooh.

It was ok. We had reservations and were seated in a back corner area. My 3 year old was so excited but unfortunately the characters kept skipping our table and going to the next. We spent 15 minutes following Pluto around the restaurant trying to get a picture with him after he went to the tables in front of ours but totally ignored us and my daughter wanted to meet him so bad. She almost had a meltdown because Pluto kept ignoring us when we were following him around trying to get his attention. I had to talk to someone who worked there who said they come to the tables and we should wait (kind of rudely and I explained he went right past our table in the corner and she said he probably didnt see us because we are hidden away) we didnt choose our table. We had the same problem trying to meet Tigger, the person chaporoning him told us we needed to go to our table and hed come around and I explained that he skipped us. They acted like we chose where we were put and seemed annoyed that my 3 year old wanted to meet the characters. Do NOT get stuck at table 20. I definitely recommend Goofys Kitchen over Plaza Inn. The characters went to most tables but not all.

I ve been here a few times for breakfast and once for lunch. Characters are only available for breakfast and they are always worth it. I ve had some great and memorable interactions with the characters here. The food is buffet for breakfast and Mickey waffles are a must! The lunch was order from a menu. I had the chicken platter, it was plenty of food and very good! Dietary restrictions: For the buffet, my sister has celiacs disease, which cant have any possible cross contamination with gluten. So the chef walked her through the buffet and wrote down what she would like so it could be put on a plate in the kitchen. This makes it so any possible utensil swaps or something falling from a guests plate as they look through the buffet wont be an issue. Disney is always great at accommodating allergies.

This is the easiest 5-star review I will ever write! Something seriously has to go wrong at a character breakfast to ruin the experience. We had soooo much fun!!! Id like to note this was of 2nd time. The first was 5 years ago. The food was good, it was a buffet. The Build-It Yourself Omlet station was top-notch! You told the cast member what you wanted, and he cooked it right there in front of you in minutes. He had 4 going at once. The character experiences were sooooo much fun! Minnie, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Pooh, Tigger, Max, Susie, and Perla! 9!!!! Thats the most we have ever had. Usually, its capped off at 4 or 5. Max and Dale kept coming back over to us. Max and I had a dance-off, which had people laughing. The cherry on top was we met a Cast Member by the name of Steve, who has worked there over 40 years. He talked to us for a while and told us his history with his employment as well as the history of the restaurant. When we were leaving, he pulled us aside with pixie dust and took a picture of us holding a Plaza Inn sign that no one was doing. Thank you, Steve, for being the model Cast Member that brought magic into our lives!

I dreamt of trying the chicken for awhile now. $20, you get 3 pieces of fried chicken, one biscuit, green beans, and an order of mashed potatoes with without gravy. I love mashed potatoes, so I obviously finish that. I was only able to eat one piece of chicken because apparently I wasn t as hungry as I thought. So I took the rest home and ate at the next day. Am I going to say it s the best fried chicken I have ever had, no it s not by any means. But it s decent for the price I would say 2 people can definitely share this meal. Whenever I go to the parks, I try to get something different.

First experience at the Plaza Inn for a dining package (Halloween screams event). It was very disappointing. Adult price was $60 per perspn (short ribs, brocolini, mashed potatoes, dirt and worms dessert, and a hibiscus lemonade to drink) and children were $30 (chicken fingers and mashed potatoes, baby carrots, apple sauce, dirt and worms and a soda) BUT you serve yourself, cafeteria style and things like spoons (for the dirt and worms and applesauce) were impossible to find even after asking and being told they were somehwere they werent- by multiple staff, and had to ask someone to get them for me. Very steep pricing to do everything yourself. Felt like a high school cafeteria. Yes, it did come with reserved seating for the fireworks, but the view was blocked by either a tree, multiple light posts or projection equipment. Not even a clear view of the castle for the projections on it. We would not do this again.

Chicken, beef or salmon with pasta and cake (lemon or chocolate). We got salmon, pasta with marinara and chocolate cake. All was tasty and reasonably priced compared to other places in Disneyland. A big plus also for Plaza Inn, they have a huge nice sitting area where you can enjoy your food. Will definitely go again on our next visit to Disneyland! Vegetarian options: Pasta

First time going. I didnt realize it was a walk up dining experience. I had assumed that it was one where you need a reservation and had table service. The menu was pretty basic. I got the pot roast which was super tender and delicious. Loved the mashed potatoes. The biscuit was pretty dry and the green beans were soggy. The fried chicken was amazing. The chicken tenders were honestly huge. My kids struggled to finish them. It was very filling with the mashed potatoes. The salad was super good. It had grilled chicken and lots of yummy veggies. The salad dressing was tasty as well. Not spicy at all. Great pricing too since it was about $13. They helped us find a table and it was beautiful. They had chandeliers and a 1900s feel. Would have loved to sit by big windows but it was a busy time. They also had outside seating. Will definitely return Kid-friendliness: Kids meals were great

(Just ask) Gluten baked chicken, gluten free rolls, and gluten free pasta. They have no dairy free salad dressing though.

Grossest ish I ve seen in a min. Salmon plate had a hair in it. They gave me the run around but when they finally agreed to replace the rice, they just removed it off the plate and put more. Like a high school cafeteria. I guess Iger hasn t made the full rounds yet.

The pasta taste like frozen pasta that you buy at the store & heat in the microwave very disappointing

This is THE place I recommend if you want to fill your tummy with a whole lotta yummy. The food here is always so scrumptious. It is our favorite place in Disneyland to eat when we want an actual meal. The portions are enough to feed 2 people. They do offer to-go containers, just ask! They have salads and desserts a la carte as well. The Disney 100 Lemon Cup was so tasty. And the Chicken was fried to perfection. The strawberry layer cake was so-so, a little bland even though it looks perfect. They also sell the collector cups here and offer MagicKey discounts.

SUCH A COOL PLACE I really enjoyed eating at the Plaza inn and was honestly really impressed with how good the food was for being not too expensive per plate. I got the chipotle mango salmon which was just amazing and some of the best salmon I have had for $19. My Father got the Pot roast and said it was so good that I had to stop him from going a getting another one for only $19 as well. Overall a really cool place to go eat while you are visiting Disneyland.

The fried chicken dinner is a good meal. Chicken is good as well as the mashed potatoes and biscuit, the green beans are not the best but overall a good deal for the $$$ inside the park

One of our top picks for Disneyland food. Fried chicken & mashed potatoes, pot roast, or pasta, or salads made fresh for you means theres something for everyone Plenty of indoor or patio seating. My husband always gets the fried chicken with its big portions while my kids opt for the pasta. Vegetarian options: Penne pasta with marinara or salads made to order.

This is counter service and cafeteria style. For breakfast they have a buffet style set up. Ample food that is excellent, you will not leave hungry.

Its honestly a 5 start experience! The smile on my 1 year olds face the whole time was priceless. Even the waiters interacted with her. The only reason I took a star away is because Pooh Bear only acknowledged one side of the room that we were in the whole time that he came. There was another family that complained about it to the waiters but when they did they said he was going on break and would return in 10 minutes. We were they for a while and were over it to wait another 10 minutes. Maybe he was in a poo mood because his ride was close as well that day

Food was basic breakfast not to bad. But to be honest youre hear for the character meet and great. This was the best part. Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale, Pooh and Tigger. The staff was super friendly and great. I would definitely come back.

Fun experience and the mickey waffles are the best! We also enjoyed the dining experience to get reserved seating for the Christmas parade. It was totally worth it! The meal was great and we couldnt have asked for a better view of the parade. We would do it again!

The Plaza Inn at Disneyland is my favorite dining spot. My two personal favorite meals are served here. They are the chicken dinner and the pot roast platter. If there are fireworks, my family times it to where we have a patio view to watch it from the Plaza Inn.

Fuel up, cafeteria-style. Famous for fried chicken and seasonal desserts. Ask if they are offering Nighttime Spectacular dining packages. Plan on spending $100-$120 for a family of 4. The menu is available on the Disneyland app. Kid-friendliness: I mean, its Disneyland. Outdoor seating is available so your excitables can be a little rowdy without being disruptive.

Great Fried Chicken!! Consistently delicious... good crunch, juicy soft inside, soft biscuit, well-seasoned green beans, and chunky mashed potatoes. Our family of 4 stopped by for early dinner on a Friday. We got lucky and found a table inside to avoid the HEAT outside!

Was quite disappointed with the fried chicken after hearing raving reviews. Im a huge fried chicken connoisseur and I have to say this is easily below average. If this wasnt in Disneyland, this place will not last more than a year. The only tasty item was their mash potato and I guess its a decent portion. However, I would not recommend it. $20/meal.

The full regular character breakfast experience - and the host, food, service and overall experience was among the best we had at Disneyland. If you have little ones and want them to interact with and take pictures with individual characters, this is the place. Also, our one daughter has severe celiac disease, and they went out of their way - even having the chef come chat with our daughter about what is safe and not safe - so extra bonus points for for doing inclusion the wat that Disney does inclusion. Highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Accommodated severe gluten allergy / celiac disease. Kid-friendliness: Character meetings and photo opportunities, plus many kid friendly menu items.

My hubbys absolute must stop favorite in Disneyland. Best chicken dinner ever and one of the better values. Dinner includes 3 pieces of chicken, homestyle green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy and a dinner roll - a large portion for what you pay in Dland! We even had leftovers.

Food was ok, was disappointed that we had gotten a dinning package with a set meal, and could not make any substitutions, while the people just walking up for dinning were. The only think i ate was the chicken, which was decent, honestly a little over fried for my liking. The saving grace and star of the meal is definitely the raspberry cheesecake, that was amazing. Was also a little bit disappointed that the seating area that was supposed to be reserved for the package is actually open to everyone about 15 minutes before the parade starts, probably will not do the dinning package again

Beautiful place to stop for lunch! Chicken was delicious, well cooked and seasoned! Their breakfast options are fantastic too. From sweet with all the usuals, to more savory options like chicken and biscuits or custom omelets, overalls very pleased for the price. Kid-friendliness: Obviously being Disney, its incredibly kid friendly. But the character breakfasts are a whole world above!

One of my favorite restaurants at Disneyland. Always enjoyed their chicken and find it unparalleled to what is typical of fried chicken offerings at most other restaurants. Season and cooked to perfection. I dont think I will ever get tired of it. We are talking about decades of visits here too! Definitely a place worth visiting, they do offer other offerings from pot roast to pastas, salads including made to order and desserts.
