an authentic taste of the Middle East, Sweets Arabic shop. The moment you step inside, youre greeted by the sweet aroma of freshly made baklava, knafeh, and other traditional treats. The shop has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly friendly.

Very bad experience. I was hoping that whatever they advertised is right, but this place is below average. I got my special order missing a piece and they didnt even try to remake it to get me a complete tray that I am taking as a gift. Very overpriced, pretending to make the best Ashta which not even Ashta. Will not recommend it at all....

Nice employees and neat bakery, but $14 for the pistachio knafeh chocolate (Dubai Chocolate) wasn t worth it. It was okay at best, akin to a KitKat bar. It has aesthetically pleasing marbling on the top. The pistachio taste was weak and the filling s color was an unsightly dark green. I thought it was mold at first.

This bakery has been my preferred choice for the past 20 years. From my high school graduation to the birthdays of my children, we consistently purchase cakes from this establishment. We also purchase pastries from this establishment for all occasions. The bakerys offerings are consistently fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this bakery. The customer service is also excellent.

The sweets are all old and old, with burnt cores, and only pistachios on the edges, but on the inside they are devoid of pistachios and full of syrup. He heated the kunafa and the cheese stuck to the plate and we started eating cardboard with the cheese. Of course, to be honest, the kunafa is just good.

I came here with some family for desserts after lunch and I loved it. My sister in law recommended it to me and she comes here every once in a while with my brother. The family who owns it is very kind and it was a pleasure chatting with them while we were eating there. The father has been baking since 1979 so he knows what he s doing! They speak Arabic and English and the son can also speak Spanish which is really great. There are so many different desserts to choose from, and my family and I sampled a lot of the small middle eastern desserts. If you have a sweet tooth this is the place to be! I also had the bousa stretchy ice cream, it s not as sweet as the regular desserts but I had to try it while I was in town. I ended up eating all of it :) Thank you for the wonderful experience and delicious desserts.

The baklava is perfectly flaky with just the right amount of sweetness, and their kunafa is a must-try. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. There are a ton of options and variety to satisfy your sweet tooth. Totally worth checking out!

The owner was very hospitable , the baklava was amazing , the ice cream was unique and one of their best sellers . I give this place a 10 out of 10 its clean , you can sit outside if you like.

Have been wanting to come here forever. What a HUGE disappointment! The bouza is no longer freshly prepared and it is not presented in a bowl arranged in the beautiful, flower-like slices anymore. Instead, its pre-packed and pushed into deli-style containers. As a result, its a hard, crystalized mess without any of the desired stretchiness. The eclair was filled with cream that had gone bad and tasted of spoiled milk. The strawberry mango cake was dry, old, and did not taste like mango (or really of strawberry either for that matter). And the cheese knafe was terrible: made with semolina instead of phyllo floss and barely drizzled with mostly bland syrup. We only ate the cheese and threw the rest away. The best thing we had was the Oreo cheesecake and I suspect that its baked elsewhere, frozen, shipped, and defrosted for sale at this location. Also, didnt order the fruit tarts because the fruit was not glistening as it should. Instead, the fruit looked old and dry. Also, didnt order the mini mirror cakes either because the topping had broken and was sliding off of the cakes. What a shame. For nearly $40 for four pastries and an extra small bouza, what a terrible shame. Will never return and must continue my search for the delicious Middle Eastern delicacies of my dreams. Le sigh!

Super cute cafe vibes once you enter and there were sooooo many pastries to choose from!! Thanks to the staff for explaining the pastries, as it our first time there. We decided really quick (because it was near closing time) to take home the #MixedBaklava set and all the walnut, cashew, & pistachio baklava were all so delectable!! ....and the main reason we came was to try their #KnafeChocolate bar!! The initial crunch of the knafeh with the smooth pistachio cream was heavenly!! Well have to visit again to try the booza ice cream!!

We ended up getting some assorted baklava to take back home and ate bouza (Syrian ice cream) at the place. The way the bouza was presented reminded me of a jelly roll thats been thinly sliced; except instead of cake, its rolled ice cream with pistachio. Enjoyed the texture (which is chewy, like an airy taffy). Definitely a must try! I am also happy to report that the baklava was good! It wasnt too sweet, and the filo was still wonderfully crunchy. Will get some more next time I go back.

I came here to get some pastries and cookies for an iftar party at my house. I got a few fruit Flavored cakes and a box of baklava and cookies. When it came time to eat the desserts, everyone was excited because they looked pretty. We all tried our own fruit cakes, and everyone said the same thing that it tasted like chemicals. Some type of rancid chemicals. It was purely inedible. The cookies and baklava which Ive had before have been delicious. This time tasted very off. The cookies were super dry, basically stale, and the baklava had an odd flavor. The simple syrup was off for sure. Im super disappointed since its pricy and everything was inedible. Service is always great. I love this place, but Im not sure if Ill be returning since it was a really bad experience, and my guests all went home with a bad taste in their mouths.

Every kind of dessert and cake and baklava and beautifully laminated, buttery pastry. I dont understand how such an unassuming, mid-range-priced mom and pop shop is able to have such a wide variety, and with each individual item seeming like its gotta be the one famous item everyone flocks to the bakery for. With its Arabic and French pastry fusion, my headcannon is that an Arabic family graduated Frances most prestigious pastry school and then opened shop here. We got one of every kind of baklava. Theyre all somewhat similar in flavor, but a completely different textural experience . Crunchy/tender, flaky/moist, pillowy/dense. A lot of them start out with a satisfying crunch and then just turn to butter in your mouth. A freakin festival of culinary textures. They were sweet, but not too sweet, nutty, caramely, brown sugar-y and perfect. The thing we actually went for was the dark chocolate cake which, unsurprisingly, was phenomenal. Deep chocolate flavor, moist, not too sweet, and some sort of aromatic or subtle flavor that I couldnt place but that I really liked. Rose water? Bergamot? I dont know but I would love another slice. A lovely gentleman with the jawline of Henry Cavil helped us, was super kind, and just seemed like he genuinely enjoyed his job. Be warned ladies, you might show up for the sweets but stay for the eye candy...

Weve been here too many times to count! Have tried the cookies, pastries and cakes. Our favorite is the mango, and fruit tarts. If you want to buy a gift for a hostess, this is a great place. The cakes are not only beautiful they are delicious. We purchased the red velvet and it was a hit with all the kids. My favorite is black forest...a very hard cake to make and find! But this is a proper black forest cake. My only complaint is that from the outside of the store its hard to tell if its open or not! We went in the late afternoon and they have to draw all the curtains because of the suns direct focus on the pastries which I totally get. But just some advice, if it looks closed from the outside, still check! Its probably just because of the hot afternoon sun.

Lol had six people in my group and they kept getting uglier as they came out hahaha but no big deal . Taste wise, there was a lot of pistachio. Like more than the ice cream portion. And it tasted like soft mushy pistachio. Not the nice crunchy kind either. That s why just the three average, neutral, sad stars. And I would not get that specific dessert again.

SYRIA Eat the World LA review: A little over a year ago, the New Yorker published a story by Orange Countys beloved (and sometimes not so much) Gustavo Arellano covering the tale of the ice cream at Le Mirage and its journey from Damascus. Tucked away in the old city of Syrias capital, an almost 140 year old shop selling booza called Bakdash was what owner Maher Nakhal wanted to bring to Anaheim. If you have ever traveled in the Levant, you have certainly come across booza, the ice cream that stretches when pulled apart and seems to have an ability to resist melting much longer than ice cream we are used to in other places. With ingredients native to the area, this type of dessert has been made since seemingly the beginning of time. A flour made from orchid tubers called salep and the resin of mastic trees used in chewing gum are what gives the ice cream its unforgettable qualities. The bowl is served like a flower, with sliced petals of booza rimmed with pistachios. True to its promise, the stretchy fun is all there and brings back good memories for me of enjoying dondurma on sunny days in Turkey.

Do not buy the raspberry tart! This is the third time I tell them that the raspberries had mold on them and they ve done nothing! This was my favorite place to also buy baklava. I called over the phone and told the lady that they were stalled and said that they couldn t be since they are made fresh everyday and they couldn t do nothing for me. Just lost a customer

A variety of Syrian style treats. Several flaky baked goods made with pistachio or dates pr cashew. Cakes with fruit or coconut and/or chocolate. Also, you can get slices of an array of fruit/coconut/chocolate cakes, mouse, pastries. Great service as they explain what each item is. Great gem of a place in a plaza that has a Grannys Donuts.

I drove all the way from Los Angeles to Little Arabia Orange County just to try the famous Damascus Bagdash Booza ice cream. The shopkeeper was a great host, quick service and really really delicious deserts. We tried the cheese kunafa and it was great, it was made out of real traditional cheese. This store is the only one in nation who makes Damascus Bagdash ice cream. I m coming back with my friends soon. Thank you Maher for making this miracle ice cream exist in USA.

I came here all the way from san francisco with my family to try this place because I saw the bouza article and had to try it out. Customer service was amazing the man who owns the place is very kind and treated everyone very well. As for the ice cream it was amaziiinnng. Best ice cream I have tasted here in the USA and is exactly like the taste of our traditional ice cream in damascus. I also bought the pastries as well since I came from afar and everything tastes superb. The place is very neat and clean as well. I defenitely recommend this place for everyone to try. :)

Here you can find what might be the best baklava in all of Orange County. And they serve bouza which is a Syrian ice cream-like dessert that is really good, covered in pistachios.

Located in a small strip mall with free parking. All of their pastries are both beautiful and delicious! It was hard to decide but we ended up having their baklava, chocolate mousse Bombay, and Arabic ice cream 10/10 would recommend. The larger cakes are gorgeous as well :)
