This brisket and turkey dish was one of the best I’ve ever had. The prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was fantastic, with plenty of space and seating. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and parking was easy to find.

They got good flavoring for their barbecue sauce. They're homemade. Coleslaw is to bomb and I do love their smoked meat. Their pork, their chicken and their beef are really tasteful and flavorful The atmosphere is very nice and very pleasant to be there and to eat

Don't judge a place by its location, lol. Blake's is and always had been a great place for bbq. Service is stellar. They constantly check on you, even when it is crowded. The food is tasty, especially the baby back ribs. They have both an inside and outside area for eating. Been going here on and off for years. Even used their catering a few decades ago, it was flawless. Just don't be surprised when you roll up to an industrial area that it is in the middle of. It is worth the visit.

I ordered a turkey for Christmas dinner. While the ordering and pickup process was smooth. That's where it ended for me. The inside of the turkey was very "soft" and "chewy" as if the turkey was not cooked long enough. For $104, I anticipated a larger bird with more flavor and certainly a drier meat. It's obvious that they were rushing it. I will not be ordering here again..

The brisket was good.. I hadn't dined here for several years, and I forgot all the sides are extra. The sandwiches should at least come with cole slaw or something. By the time I realized it, I was too deep in my meeting to go for a side. My only complaint. The staff are great.. the food was good.. just don't my mistake.

Good ambiance.
If you are super hungry, it is not the place to go because they cook your food right when you ordered, and because they are so popular, you can be waiting for 20 to 30 minutes.
The food was good for the most part. My husband sandwich was great, but the pastrami sandwich I ordered was super salty. I love salt in my food, don't get me wrong, but that sandwich was way too salty. I couldn't finish it.

(I can’t rate the service nor atmosphere because I wasn’t the one picking it up) When it comes to soul food the first thing you notice is the seasoning. You can smell it and you can most def taste it. Since our fav place in Huntington Beach closed down my sister recommended this spot. The reviews were fine but the only review that counted was my sisters. Ok I was excited to try but was a bit disappointed. The meat was fine. Had a slight smoky flavor not a problem but the meat lacked seasoning (for me) but still good. The bbq sauce wasn’t to my liking so I added some of what I had at home. The mac n cheese lacked the cheese and no seasoning so I had to really doctor it up. Baked beans not too sure what they were trying to do but I wasn’t fan at all (my hubby liked them) the potato salad was good (throw in some egg and it would have been perfect). I wanted it to be great but it just wasn’t. I’m all about trying again (which I will) and hopefully it will be better.

4 year update: Still the wing king.

These Buffalo wings are a thing of beauty - virutally all other wings are a pale imitation at best. They are meaty, fried till the fat is rendered out and prime crispiness achieved, smoked to perfection before being sauced, and served with house made ranch sauce so fantastic that you'll very likely ask for extra.

Overall the menu items range from good to great, but the wings are truly exceptional. The Burrito Grande with brisket is an excellent handheld brisket delivery system; with build-in sauce, cheese and avocado, with salsa available to annoint it with as desired, it has never let me down.

Also notable is the menu's featured challenge food called The Beast, bringing over 2.5lbs of smoked pullled pork, chicken, brisket, cole slaw, onion, pickle, bbq sauce straight to the battlefront of your mouth. Finish it all in 20 minutes or less to go up on the wall of champions and get your free T-shirt declaring your mastery.

Ordered take out here this past Monday, service was good from the staff but that's where it ends. I had the 3 meat plate (brisket, chicken & sausage). I'm not sure where the other reviews have eaten barbecue because this was not the one. Food was bland and dry then to top it off I'm stuck in my hotel with food poisoning. Skip this and grab something else

I’ve been eating here for years several times a week sometimes multiple times in the same day. I love the food. I love the environment and the staff are wonderful. I feel bad waiting this long to give them a review, but here you go thanks for all the wonderful food. I highly recommend Blake’s Place to anyone looking for a good barbecue spot to get some great smoked meats or if you need catering for any event.

I judge BBQ based on the brisket. This brisket is one of the worst I’ve ever had. That said, the ribs and sides were ok so that’s why I’m giving 2 stars instead of just 1.

Good ambiance.
If you are super hungry, it is not the place to go because they cook your food right when you ordered, and because they are so popular, you can be waiting for 20 to 30 minutes.
The food was good for the most part. My husband sandwich was great, but the pastrami sandwich I ordered was super salty. I love salt in my food, don't get me wrong, but that sandwich was way too salty. I couldn't finish it.

Food is fantastic. Chicken was a little dry and the sides could use some seasoning, but overall meat is very tender and flavorful. Everyone there is very helpful. As far as the atmosphere, I guess that all depends on the company that you keep, and whether you sit inside or outside.

I would have never guessed such a gem was nestled on this (mostly) industrial corner. The food was amazing. They were generous with the ranch and BBQ sauces. We ordered a side of Mac and cheese for my son's lunch and they realized they were out. To accommodate him, they brought him out a whole kids meal, no charge. We appreciated their attentiveness and efforts to make sure our meal was enjoyable.

Our past two experiences was good but last night we odered take out ,I was very disappointed, the pork was over cooked , burned and no taste and very small portions of the beans . Too expensive for what we got . We will give a another try again .

Today 9-25 we again ordered take out.
The short ribs on one order were actually burnt on one end from to close to heat.
I don't get how ribs we ate in house we're fine and two different takeouts we had burnt meat.
It looks like the convenience of being around corner is not helpful to us.

Blake's is in a weird spot but has great food. Check out the daily specials, they are a great deal. You order at the counter and they bring you your food but still come by and check on you which is nice. I always get the ribs and they are great. Try it and you won't be disappointed. Much better than a lot of bigger named and higher priced bbq places.

Stopped here for a quick lunch on a weekday. It was a little past noon and it was crowded. You place your order at the counter, and it is quickly brought to your table. Always courteous and efficient. My only disappointment is they don't serve tri-tip. But the meats they do have are very good, especially the pork and chicken that we enjoyed, which were ample, succulent and delicious. Love their baked beans, not too sweet. The salads are very fresh like the veggies were just picked from the garden. Your choice of dressing. I love the blue cheese dressing. Overall, it was a great and satisfying experience. Very helpful wait staff. It's one of the best bbq places locally. Their food is consistently good as is the service. A dynamite combination!

I had placed 4 orders online, which it makes it much much easier. I place the order about 45+ mins ahead. I get there to pick up my order, and 2 times I've had to wait (up to 12 minutes for my extra toasted bread), it does become an inconvenience when you only get 30 minute lunch. I DO love their salads, my top 2 favorites are Blakes Chef Salad (smoked turkey and ham) and Southwest Chicken Salad (smoked chicken) with their delicious ranch dressing. Today I got the Blake's Signature BBQ with chopped beef brisket. I thought the brisket would be bigger chunks of meat but it was actually minced not chopped. It was super oily to the point it was dripping out in the bag (so glad I requested it on the side, I had to use a napkin to soak as much oil as possible) otherwise my fresh salad would have been soaked in grease. The salads are pretty big and I never finish it. I love their sliced garlic bread (extra toasted, so I will totally be going back to get those 2 of my favorite salads. Maybe I will try the Chicken Caesar Salad as well.

Blake's Place has amazing service, the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. We ordered a family dinner to go which was great and the following weekend we ordered a lunch for a charity event we were having. When we told them about our event, they generously gave us some free desserts, which was also delicious. The service is above and beyond and we are grateful!

Bbq here is very good. Had their sampler platter with ribs, brisket, pulled pork and chicken. The peach cobbler wasn't like any I've had before it was more like a peach pound cake. It wasn't bad but I would try something different next time.

My first time at Blake’s Place was an amazing experience. The atmosphere warm and inviting, getting greeted by most of the staff contributed to that feeling. The food was amazing Wavii made an awesome suggestion, a sliced beef brisket sandwich with onion rings. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and well spoken. I’ll be back to try more things he suggested.

Love this place! Been coming here for years. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I've tried just about everything and everything is delicious! I did a large last minute catering order (2pm) the day before the event ($600 worth) and was able to order with less than 24 hours. Blake's had it ready for pick up by 11:30am the next day! Amazing!!! We'll be back!

Ordered the BBQ Feast to take to a get together. Was a hit with the friends! Included 1 lb of brisket, a whole BBQ chicken & a whole BBQ rack of ribs. Sides included (a lot) of garlic bread, baked beans, mac & cheese and cole slaw. They even included a whole bottle of BBQ sauce! It was plenty of food to share!

The BEST BBQ anywhere! We moved to TN and have tried several places, but when we came out for a visit and went to Blake’s for the first time, we knew hands down the food here is better than anything we had in TN, or TX for that matter. The brisket melts in your mouth, the Mac and cheese is delicious, and the people who work there are some of the nicest around. Blake is there often, and he enjoys interacting with his patrons. If you want some REALLY great BBQ, you have to go to Blake’s!

Quality does not come cheap but if you appreciate a very good meal that is large enough for something the next day as well, then this is your place. I purchased the exceptional crispy fries covered with sauce and my choice of meat that made me look forward to leftovers. First time going to this restaurant. It's a counter serve BBQ joint with friendly service and good food. Our order was "to go" and we ordered the 3 meat plate with sliced brisket, pulled pork, and smoked turkey. For our two sides we chose baked beans and mac-n-cheese, plus we added a large order of fries.
While we were waiting, we sat at a table for two near the counter. There was music playing, but not so obnoxiously loud that we couldn't carry on conversation. The restaurant was clean and at the time, not super busy.
As stated earlier, the food was good(better than just "good"), but I think any BBQ joint should not serve any of their meats in sauce, which is how their pulled pork is served. The brisket also had some sauce drizzled on, which again, shouldn't be done. I'm not sure if they serve the meats plain, but when we go again, I will ask now that I know what to expect. Our 3 sides were all very flavorful and served at a proper hot temperature.
Blake's Place is certainly a great find if you're looking for bbq style comfort food. We will definitely be going back!

Came here for Blake’s 1996 throwback pricing for bbq ribs special. $ 9.95 half a rack & $ 12.95 for a full rack
While supplies last.
I called right when they open @ 11 a.m.
Was able to make a phone order for the special offer.
Heard there was a line out the door already when opened.
It was a 45 min wait for the ribs.
When i arrived, it was a full house inside. During lunch time.
Believed i missed the lunch rush.
Went to cashier, paid for my order and got my order within minutes.

What we had

~ Full rack of bbq ribs. Was so tender and juicy. The ribs are so yum and sweeten.
~ Blake bbq beans are full with bacon bits. Thick and yummy, I’m not a fan of baked beans. Gave it a try n it was yummy.
~ coleslaw is traditional cole slaw was good and creamy.
~ Garlic toast was good and not hard. Perfectly seasoned w garlic.

Blake’s has their own bbq sauce. Definitely recommended to grab a regular bottle and the spicy one. Finger lickin good for all of your BBQ’s.

It’s a really cute bbq restaurant. Red & white table clothes covering the table.

Parking may be a bit hard to find since it’s in a business plaza and can be a bit hard to find.

Hands down great bbq! So nice to visit a place in CA that does proper bbq with flavor and not just sweetness. I brought the whole family and sat out in the open dining area on a Saturday afternoon. The guy who I presume owns the place was really cool, and they gave us some carrot cake for their anniversary that was completely delicious. He even took the time to talk a little to my young kids, and listen to their haphazard responses 😅

I totally dig this place! The meats are really good - I normally get the brisket or tritip - the fam goes for the ribs and pulled pork or the prime rib sandwiches - they’re all really good. Baked beans are really good and the coleslaw will clean your pallet. The staff is courteous and checks in on you - the owner and son are always around too making sure everyone is enjoying their food. Ask them if they have fresh baked brownies - sooo good!

Great bbq and other food. We got the brisket ceasar salad and the brisket bbq salad. Both were excellent. We have also had them cater a party at our house and everyone enjoyed the food.

Sadly disappointing.
As other reviewers have stated, the staff is nice, but the bbq ribs were tough, flavorless, cold and dry. Seemed like they were cooked last week, then frozen. No signs or smells of any grilling going on there. Restaurant is in an industrial complex, and there were no other local places to eat, and the local workers were eating sandwiches, not bbq. I think they knew better.
The owners are sitting on their laurels. This restaurant is permanently off my list.

A delicious dinner at Blake’s Place- the BEST barbecue EVER!
Service is exceptional! The owners and staff genuinely care about the exceptional quality of food and for their customers experience.
My hubby got pulled pork and beef brisket with beans, coleslaw and garlic bread (which we shared)!!
I got the child portion plate with 4 baby back ribs, fries and a cookie!! We each got a soda. . 😋
We have enough leftovers for another meal!
We Highly Recommend visiting, you won’t be disappointed!

Hands down the BEST BBQ spot in Anaheim💯 if I could give them more stars, I would.!
The brisket sandwich was so juicy and filling, and it went so perfectly with the potato salad 🥴and don't even get me started on the BBQ sauce 🤤
I highly recommend eating here

Im pregnant and was craving some BBQ. This place popped up on google and I went for it because it has so many different options. I got the 2 meat plate for beef, brisket and barbecue chicken. My sides were mac & cheese and potato salad. I added a side of Cole slaw to see what it tastes like. We also got banana pudding didn’t get a picture.

The service was good 😊 very nice. The place was clean we took our food to go. The potato salad, garlic bread, and coleslaw were delicious. The Mac and cheese really needed to be elevated. Some seasoning and some real cheese would take that Mac and cheese to the next level. You can tell It’s made of a pre made liquid can cheese. It is ok but not the best. The banana pudding was pretty good. It was very heavy on the pudding and lacked the banana and cookies. In the whole container it was about 4-5 bananas pieces and 4-5 cookies. Again adding more to it would really elevate the dish.

As for the meat. The meat was A1. The smoke on the Chicken was perfect, super juicy and delicious. The brisket so soft and juicy as well. I absolutely loved the BBQ sauce. We loved it so much we went back the next day for more 😂.

My family and I enjoy the food here. We are regulars and have ordered catering for multiple parties. However, this Sunday we had the worst experience. Perla took our order and she was the rudest server/waiter I've EVER encountered. No greeting, no smile, no thank you, nothing. She looked miserable to be there. My mother also overheard her talking bad about me. She made the experience so bad for us that we didn't want to go back up and order dessert and we most likely will not be ordering our turkey there this Thanksgiving like we did last year. There are too many good bbq places around to go back to a place with bad customer service. Perla does not fit the laid-back charismatic energy the owners always emulate. She will drag this business down if she continues to interact with customers.

My wife and I each ordered a brisket burrito and they were delicious! A very generous portion of brisket. Brisket was perfectly cooked and juicy. A little tangy with not too much heat. Loved the avocado, salsa and cheeses. Felt like it weighed about a pound. We will definitely be back.

Best local bbq spot I have found.
I spent some time working in texas and got used to great bbq on every corner, so finding a place as good as blakes has been wonderful.
Their brisket is my go-to as it is always on point. But I honestly haven't had anything bad here yet. I'll be sure to keep looking though 😀
