Absolutely amazing Cafe!

Decided to come here after my morning workout, and boy was that post workout meal a treat!

Atticus Cafe is a small joint, with about 10 tables (eye balling). They do not seat parties of more than six people.

The food, coffee, and service were absolutely worth it. I enjoyed their Steak and Eggs plate, and their signature iced coffee (tasted like a horchata coffee, absolutely delicious!).

Service was attentive, friendly, and food came out quick. This place is phenomenal, highly recommend!

I loved coming here to eat every weekend until yesterday. Our party always ordered the same thing and our costs including tip never exceeded $60 for 2 people. Since getting new wait staff, our waiter, tall guy with light hair, has been charging us extra and adding gratuity, on top of being paid a cash tip, saying "the restaurant is in between card systems, and it always seems to be changing the prices on it's own" He gave us two different prices, both still not adding up or matching the totals listed in their menu.

I reached out to the restaurant to ask about the changes in prices, which is understandable, but why were we getting two different totals at the end of our meal, each being higher than the last? I still haven't gotten a response and will be disputing the charges due to the large discrepancy in their menu prices, and what was charged at the end of the meal, despite being only 2 people 2 meals totaling less than $15 each.

Would recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Harper eggs and steak is nothing but baby food.
Unevenly cut steak ( me thinking it was going to he an entire piece)
LITERALLY 11 small pieces of potatoes, included those small burnt pieces.

Toast was soggy.

Not worth it. ($25)

Atticus has a small eating area. The service is really good and staff is friendly. The food is pricey, but it is good. I'll be going there again, I'm just not making it my go too because of the prices. A 2+2+2 with oj was $25 and some change.

Charged Mandatory gratuity.
Never going back to this place ever again.
I don't believe in tipping culture. If their boss can't pay a decent livable wage then they shouldn't be in business.

Food was ok, I had one of the eggs combo with French toast and ice cafe de olla. My egg needed flavor, potatoes were saggy, the coffee and French toast were good. My cousin pancakes were very saggy he barely ate one, which tells he didn’t like them, as he usually eats more.

The restaurant seemed clean, bathroom had no seat covers, very thin toilet paper and dish soap instead of hand soap.

The worse part was the bill seem wrong and she ask to if the prices could be displayed so we can spit our check, we were given two alternative bills and it was still inconsistent with the prices on the menu. We added the prices on the menu and it was still off, we even added the taxes and got a different total. We were charged over $100 and our calculations didn’t even add to $100
Also they force a 20% gratitude on parties of 4 or more.
We two sandwiches ( 12.25 and $14), 1 coffee ($4), two ice coffees ($12) a coke($2.75), pancakes a la carte ($13), an egg combo ($18.90) which adds up to $76.90 without taxes, plus 7.75% ($5.95975) $82.85 plus he forced over $110

My party was visiting from Mexico, they left very unhappy and disappointed at this restaurant that overcharged.

The most authentic Cafe de Olla I’ve had here in Cali!! They use actual cane sugar and common sticks😍 unlike many others who use cinnamon powder and refined sugars 🚫 the food and service is great! Also. I really like that the staff is bilingual. My mom’s preferred language. This is our new fav spot

Discovering this breakfast/brunch restaurant was a delightful experience. The cozy and clean atmosphere immediately makes you feel at ease. Despite its small size, the restaurant exudes a welcoming charm, perfect for an intimate meal.
The customer service here is top-notch. Despite having only one server and one cook, both were incredibly nice and attentive, ensuring that every guest felt valued and well taken care of. Due to the limited space, they accommodate parties of up to six people, which helps maintain the intimate and cozy ambiance.
One thing to note is that they add a gratuity of 20% for groups of four or more, which is a fair practice given the personalized service and small team.
The food is simply phenomenal. Every dish has a homemade quality that makes you feel like you’re eating at your mom’s kitchen table. One highlight is their cafe de olla, which is exceptionally good and adds a special touch to the meal.
Overall, this restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience. The combination of excellent service, delicious homey food, and a cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for breakfast or brunch. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a heartfelt and satisfying meal.

A great cafe hidden in plain sight, camouflaged in between a nail salon and (I think) a laundromat in a strip mall. I knew the name Atticus reminded me of To Kill a Mockingbird, and to my delight, the cafe was loosely literature themed! But also workout themed? Regardless, food and service were phenomenal. The gf was craving a burger and she loved it. I got the vegan breakfast burrito and really liked it as well. Decor and vibe is very much inviting! Will be back if I’m in NW Anaheim again.

Let me tell you about this Tasty little business. The food is delicious & Tasty, the staff is very friendly and helpful. But I give it 4 stars for this reason, it is very small, the maximum in a group is 6 people, so if you wanted to have a pleasant time with people or a large family, that will not be possible, normally due to this issue of the size there is a waiting list, and for this reason you do not taste the food, because if they see that you no longer order anything they leave you the bill, a tactile way of telling you to leave, without telling you, and since there are more people waiting outside, Well, lose the magic of the delicious thing you have eaten, or they will rush you to leave. And the price is a little high, so you can't have breakfast there all week, because it's cheaper to eat at home.

An absolute hidden gem. Everything was fantastic. This tiny little Cafe is completely hidden in plain sight. Don't Make my mistake and pass it for about 5 years without ever looking at it.
At a quick glance they have a relatively simplistic menu, but everything on it is incredibly enticing and a lot more complicated than what you See you in just a quick look. From the dishes with creative names based off of famous authors, to their healthier options and even the kids menu. You kind of just don't know what to get because it all looks so good.
On our first trip to this place My daughter got the Bukowski combo, which seems simple enough being just eggs bacon and potatoes. However she absolutely loved the way they prepare the potatoes, The crunchy bacon and the selection of wheat toast.
I got the Hemingway brunch sandwich with ham, and a side of potatoes. It's scrambled eggs with cheese ham and what I tasted was mustard but The description says house sauce. Whatever it was it was delicious. It all came together so well on sourdough bread. I also thoroughly enjoyed how they prepare their potatoes.
This is a tiny cafe with very limited seating so they ask for no parties larger than six. Despite being so small, their takeout game is immense. While we were dining I noticed several different patrons who came in, picked up orders, and left. I don't know if they have delivery options or If they work with DoorDash, GrubHub, or Uber eats but it's definitely worth the pickup If you can't get a seat.
We will be working this restaurant into our rotation for weekend breakfast spots. I might even get one of their T-shirts as they sell merch in the back. I like the green one and their restaurant logo almost looks like something you can get tattooed on you. Though I don't think I'd go that far.
This place is easily a 10 out of 10 for brunch spots.

This place is worth the wait for breakfast. We got there later towards closing and were serviced rather quickly. I couldn't decide since I wanted a bit of everything so I started with a Cafe de Olla and it was everything I needed that morning. A taste of coffee but cinnamon and sweetness to it with no added milk or creamer. ¡Delicioso! I decided to order the pancake combo with scrambled eggs and potatoes. The pancakes definitely hit the spot for my breakfast needs. We also ordered chilaquiles Roja and the whole plate was definitely delicious. I would've ordered more to try out and eat but I'll save it for my next go back. So good!

We came here today because To Kill A Mockingbird is my favorite book, and the food and menu looked decent.

I ended up trying several things on the menu, and was blown away by all of them. This place has possibly the best pancakes I've ever had. The breakfast potatoes are perfect. The carne asada was perfectly tender and flavorful. Even the English muffin was so far above the norm. Oh and the house coffee tasted like horchata, which was great for a change of pace.

I like to think of myself as a pretty good cook. People frequently tell me that I'm really great. The chef/owner here is so much better than I am, it made me rethink my retirement plan of opening a restaurant. Guess I'll just have to write the great American novel instead.

Not to hype a place up too much but I genuinely believe: Everything was amazing.
All homemade by this kind, hardworking human.

We came with a large group and just split off into smaller tables to get to eating faster. It actually made for a more peaceful breakfast

Between the 8 of us we had:
pancakes, breakfast burrito, chilaquiles w green sauce and asada, steak sandwich, the breakfast sandwich (bacon, cheese &eggs), side of steak and English muffins, a ton of breakfast potatoes, the cafe de olla, and we ended up throwing in another order for the pancakes.

We were all raving and passing plates - left full with huge smiles in our faces.

The owner is a punk rock, fitness loving bookworm. The small but mighty team cranked out a breakfast that was out of this world.

I came here with my wife. I ordered the steak benedict. She ordered Houg Ward (?) sandwich. At first glance...my dish was little interesting. This benedict did not come with a creamy sauce. It came with a side of potatoes. However, it looked burnt. Not sure if chef was going for crispy side...it tasted good though. I am not sure if I would order it again tho. My wife's sandwich with fries...looked more appealing. Service was good. The gentleman with glasses were polite. I gave this place 4 Stars.

The food was phenomenal and the service was excellent. Being an avid reader I totally bought into the theme of the cafe. I will be returning to try out the lunch menu. 👍🏽 I went back and ordered something different. The dish was perfect. The Hemingway Breakfast Sandwich. I highly recommend it if you enjoy breakfast Sandwiches.

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. Fantastic food, friendly and accommodating staff, an almost magical "good vibe" when you walk in. The owner puts her heart and soul into everything she prepares and presents, and you can feel it as soon as you're served. Wish I could leave more stars, but they won't let me. Wait...☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆. There, 10 stars!
p.s. try the Café Olla... JUST DO IT and you will thank me!

Durango chilaquiles with steak are delicious! The salsa is definitely authentic, no canned sauce in this place. The cafe de olla is the best, has cinnamon. Staff was super nice! We will definitely eat here again.

Even though there’s empty tables available, it can’t be put together to accommodate a certain party size. It has to be exact. So there’s a waitlist since it only seats about 20-25 inside and two tables outside. They won’t seat you until the entire party is physically present.

Customer service is a bit short and rude. The food is not that great. We wouldn’t go back.

-Chilaquiles- green sauce with steak
-Chilaquiles- red sauce with chicken
-Dickens Benedict - choice of chorizo or ham - I got chorizo, over muffins topped with salsa.

We came here because they are known for chilaquiles. I would say, stick to that menu item. The chips are house made and crispy. I can’t stand chilaquiles that have soggy chips. This place serves crispy chips.

The chicken was super dry white meat. The steak was so much tastier. You get two eggs any style on top.

There’s really no difference with the sauce. The green sauce was sour. The red sauce taste like, it’s the exact same green sauce with a few drops of red sriracha for a spicy kick.

The Benedict was soggy because it’s drenched in salsa vice hollandaise. So I’m not used to soggy muffins. I should have picked ham instead of chorizo because it had its own flavors that didn’t go right when combined. I had asked for no cotija and it came out with cotija so they had to make another dish. (Looking at reviews of this same item, I don’t see their plate drenched in salsa).

The nephew got the pancake combo which comes with two small pancakes (actually looked like regular size), 1 egg and bacon but we substituted it for sausage patty. We got chocolate chip vice plain pancakes.

I didn’t try this but the mother was feeding the child and only ate the sausage. The eggs and most of the pancake left behind. The mother usually finishes the kids meal but she didn’t. Which tells me the food isn’t that great.

The potatoes were wet like greasy. I should have asked for extra crispy. It’s as if it was cooked in the same oil as everything else.
The kitchen is out in the open for everyone to see so you can see the chef making your food. It’s like a one man show doing everything. So probably cutting corners.
