First time eating here. Had come once before on a Sunday for brunch, but there was a long line, so chose not to wait. Came on a Saturday morning around 830am, and we were seated right away. They were very attentive to us checking in to see when we were ready to order. Pictured are the asada steak and Manhattan omelette. The biscuits and gravy were so good, piping hot out of the oven. We also ordered a side of pancakes and they were amazing!

Good food, prices, service, and portions. Great way to start the day before Disneyland. I got the carnitas tamale plate and it was pretty good! You get to choose from a lot of sides to go with the omelets. I'll be back!

I love their breakfast. Got the country egg Benedict with biscuits. The biscuits were a little hard but the rest was amazing. Got a huge waffle on the side. Waffle was the best part!!! 👌

With 93.1 Jack FM playing in the loud speaker, yu already know yu came here to eat and not much else. Food portions are big for the price, and taste was delicious. Nothing fancy, just good food and good service. Definitely recommend if yur looking for a solid portion witout all the extra pretty lights and sparkles.

Great service and delicious food. Ordered the fried steak skillet with side of biscuits and gravy. No lie the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had. I could come here just for the biscuits and gravy.

It was only a 10-minute wait on a Sunday morning so that worked out well.

They have the best management and the best staff!! 💛
Literally had 10 families ahead of our group to sit down and with in 15 minutes they got all those family's in and set including mine.
The food was great and filling. The banana bread is highly recommended! I really enjoyed everything about our dinning experience! My dad even liked it and he's a hard man to please. He says he gives this place two thumbs up! 👍 👍 plus the waitress is incredible! So good to our baby we had with us. Love her! ❤️

Was passing through and searched “best breakfast near me” and The Scratch Room showed up. After reading a few reviews I headed that way. If you didn’t have directions you wouldn’t likely notice it, it’s tucked away in a corner shopping center. It may look small from the outside but it’s spacious and cozy.

The staff were warm and welcoming, constantly interacting with customers and keeping the coffee topped off.

The food… it was incredible. I realize there’s only so many ways to serve up bacon, eggs and pancakes but it was out of this world good. Great way to start my day.

Great place to get a delicious breakfast. We loved the banana bread and biscuits with gravy. The sausage gravy was sweet and savory. Portions are generous. The corn beef hash is a must try and the omelette was fluffy and delicious.

The staff are grumpy and act like it is a burden to take care of you. 3 tables that seated after us were served before we got served. We waited 30 minutes for one side biscuit and gravy and it came out undercooked. We sent it back and got a fresh one 2min later that was mediocre. The last time we were here they undercooked the potato wedges twice. The food is so mid. I would recommend 8th Haus Cafe, or Monkey business cafe over this place. Definitely won't be returning again.

The food was decent, but the overall experience left much to be desired. It took a long time for our order to be prepared, and we also had to wait an unnecessary amount of time for them to run our credit card at the end. If you're in a rush or value efficiency, this might not be the best choice.

The place is waaaay overrated!
The water tastes awful, is not filetered, and tastes like plastic. The bacon is precooked, then reheated, hard to chew, and the texture is like hard rubber, and it's served nearly cold. The french fry potatoes are tasteless and also tasted precooked.

The waitress also made a mistake on our order (it was supposed to be no onion). Although we removed it, the burger still tasted like onion. They didn't even offer a discount for the error.

The prices are excessively high for the quality you get here.

If I could give a zero rating, I would.

A rating between 4.5 and 5 is a place like "Snooze," where the food is actually delicious, the water is filtered, the food is freshly made, and the service is excellent.

The orange juice is not freshly squeezed. As soon as I drank it I felt my throat burn from the acid. Also the chilaquiles have pork. Wish someone would have said it had pork. I don’t eat pork

I saw on google that they served plant based food. I called and didn't speak with anyone. Then I drove 20 min to get something for breakfast, I walk in and see nothing plant based on the menu. I asked about the plant based food and was told that was the previous owner and they never changed it. I said they should take it off google/yelp and they just said sorry. Wasting people's time is not great customer service.

So sad about this place. The food is good, but the service sucks. Went for lunch with a co-worker, got sat at a table but after 23 mins no one came to take our order. Left so that we could actually eat for lunch somewhere else. (Pics are from previous visit when we actually got to eat.)

From the outside, you wouldn’t know that this place is pretty darn good. Coffee was great. Omelettes were great. Bacon was great. Everything at the table seemed to be above average. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant cleanliness was just average. Definitely recommend.

We were greeted and was sat promptly. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean. Our table ordered a wild boar skillet, biscuits and gravy, French toast, pancakes, bacon and eggs. The only complaint is how done the eggs were. On the skillet, eggs were ordered over medium and they were done more over hard. Otherwise all the food was really good. My family is VERY particular about biscuits and gravy and theirs "passed the test". The pancakes were great. The restaurant feels a bit "unfinished" but that will not deter us from returning. I would recommend this place and if I'm ever in the area again, I'd return.

Very disappointed with the service. I called to place a pick up order and Karen told me to wait a second. She put the phone down and I could hear her asking around who had time for a to go order. Nobody responded to her. Then she picked up the phone and told me to wait. Then she placed me on hold. It seemed like my call was a big inconvenience for her. I get that places get busy, but it should have been handled different.

"Beware of the lady in the front—she's very rude and yells at you as soon as you walk in. The reviews are from friends and family they are biased! The food was bland, service was incredibly slow, and the restaurant wasn't clean. For the price, I expected much better quality and customer service. Won't be coming back."

Food was fresh and tasty. Fruit option for bread swap was nice and fresh. Seems they use "butter spread" to cook the eggs. Not exactly on my healthy food plan. But the corned beef was tasty.
If you like Iron Maiden as your sound track for breakfast, you'll love it.

We absolutely loved the food. Beyond great. Huge portion. I tried the tamale cake with egg Benedict and banana bread wow!! My husband got a breakfast burrito machacha with gravy on top. So delicious. Definitely recommend.

First time here. Very attentive servers. You must try there biscuit and gravey. The biscuit is like a cloud that melts in your mouth. The chicken Fried steak skillet was very tasty.

Great place for breakfast only. I wasn’t a big fan of the burgers and potato wedges. They were too big and uncooked without any taste. The burger I ordered was plain and simple without any taste. I had a couple of breakfast meals and they were pretty good.

The menu was varied and expansive, ranging from American to Mexican and in between. I received great service and their home potatoes, and especially their banana bread, we're delicious. Recommended if you're in the area.

Not sure why this place gets so many good reviews. It was so noisy you could hardly hear yourselves talk to each other and the food was very so so. Also it was a 90 degree July day and the a/c didn’t work. Scratch this one off your list!

This might just be the worst food we've ever eaten stopped by after seeing the reviews and I'm here to tell u absolutely lies this place is nasty nasty nasty turkey was sour almost bad eggs had no flavor potatoes were still hard in the middle peppers and onions were not cooked and the burger omg 🤢 my teenager ate the top bun and was instantly sick stay away y'all I've benn warned 3 out of the 4 meals ordered were nasty and the 4th waffle was bland and almost mealy tasting than when we asked to speak to a manager the waitress said o we don't have one than went outside with 2 other employees and sent one back to deal with us not to mention the rudeness of the waitress never again never again 🤮🤮 🤮🤢

A quick Google search brought us here for breakfast. My fiancee and I were very pleased with the service and our meals (steak and eggs and chicken Cali omelette). Lorena was our server and she was on it. Great service. The biscuits and gravy, along with the banana nut loaf were so good. Honestly, the best I've had since moving to the West coast. We'll definitely be back.

Get here early! The food selection and service is great. If you're not there first thing you will probably have to wait. I was there after 7am and by 8 the people came in one after another.
It might not look like the best place in town but should give it a try. In the area again some time and I will stop in!

The waitress Karen was really on top of everything getting our food out to a quick and fast and getting all the extras that we wanted period. I had the Hungry man meal and my friend had the country skillet. Both were very good (we split the meals.) The bus boy was on top of clearing all the plates that we were finished. As soon as we put them to the end of the table he cleared them. Which is nice I hate having a bunch of empty dirty plates around while I am still eating my food. The prices are very reasonable no added extra charges. For a Saturday afternoon we had only a few minute wait to be seated. When you get to the door there is a table to sign in yourself of how many in your party & name. Then you wait outside till they have available tables. First come first served.They have chairs outside to sit on to wait.I have been coming here for a couple of years now & it is constantly good. Great place to introduce friends & family to.

Our server was great (Karen) and very attentive but the food was very bland...we had the French toast meal, hungry man meal, and choclate chip pancake meal...the only good thing was the ham out of everything we ordered...unfortunately the other food left a weird taste in my mouth...definitely not worth the price tag ($79 - including tip)

We tried this place on a whim and boy did we win out! This place was amazing. Not only was the food amazing, the staff was on point. Nicole was our server and she was looking out for the family 100%. She gave us recommendations and they were all great but by far the banana bread was fire!!! I even bought a loaf to go as it was so memorable. We will be back again. Only bad thing was that our server was a raiders/dodgers fan - yuck! Lol.

It's fine if you want diner food, but that's about it. Nothing has overly jumped out at us the times we've gone and the food is all just okay for how expensive it is. The place is very cramped, poorly lit, and loud so it's not a pleasant atmosphere. You eat with your eyes after all, so when the food is just slapped onto a plate in a dingy and drab environment, it's hard to really enjoy anything.

Best breakfast I had in a while for a good price as well. I had to leave to run an errand while my girlfriend was there to save our table and they brought the food pretty quickly. By the time I got back there though my food was cold. They reheated for me and I really appreciated it. Went a second time and it was still good.

My family and I love coming to The Scratch Room we are usually there once a week. The food is amazing, the service is always amazing but recently on Saturday it was terrible there was this short Latina lady with glasses that basically came and told us if we had a card to run our tab, mind you we were still eating there was no reason for her to come and tell us that. We understand it's busy but we were eating still and worse part she was not going even our server. It's so rude to come and tell us that. Yes the tab was in our table but again we hadn't even finished... So disappointed!!

This is a great place to have breakfast. The service is really efficient and customer oriented. The food is served quickly and of great quality. We loved what we ate.
Extra kudos to Nicole. I ordered a garden omelet and some biscuits and gravy. She asked me if I was a vegetarian as the gravy has meat. Incredible attention to detail. I’ve never been asked that.

Needing a diner in Anaheim? This fit the bill for me. I had the bacon and egg breakfast with the loaf. My husband had the Chile Verde omelette with the biscuit and gravy. Both were amazing. Get the loaf if you want something sweet. Get the biscuit if you want to keep it savory. Portions here are very large, so with the price. Probably going to become our go to spot for breakfast once we move to Anaheim.

2nd time visiting this place from Texas. Texans love their breakfast spots, this place would explode in Texas, Banana nut bread with whipped butter is absolutely the best I have ever tried. The biscuits and gravy are amazing, pancakes are fluffy, orange juice is fresh, coffee is hot and flavorful. The kids enjoyed the crispy thick bacon and super fresh fruit.

All the food here is great and the service is excellent. Usually pretty busy and loud but they're great at moving the tables along and seating you quickly.

A fantastic breakfast spot with incredible service. I came with a large group and they accommodated us quickly and throughout the meal made sure we had everything we needed. The food was incredible, we all got different things and I didn’t hear one complaint at the table. There are very simple options, as well as more complicated things, all of which are worth trying. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely want to try this place again!

I went two days in a row and got the asada skillet. Everything was executed beautifully. I’d recommend the pinto beans over the black beans. I loved the grilled green onion, the guacamole, Pico and sour cream with it. The service was great with the servers keeping our drinks filled. They have a nice breakfast brunch menu and are only open until 2pm. It can get a bit busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings, but it’s great spot in Anaheim.

Ready to eat, Gave this place a second chance, After the first time I went, found hair on my side of banana bread. I should of said no to banana bread. second time around, Hair on banana bread again. Who’s making this bread, “monkeys” … lost appetite after that. Don’t get me wrong I still took my breakfast burrito. It had Good taste. Didn’t want to think if it had something in there. The egg whites and veggies, no flavor at all.. mixed the guacamole in it since it was over salted. Roasted potatoes ok. Hey you might get lucky to find treasure next time you go. Server offered another piece of 🍌 bread, why would I want the same bread… ? How about a discount on my check… 🙈. Can’t make it a third time. Bye scratch Room.

This hole in the wall breakfast place is awesome. The food for the price is truly worth it. For breakfast plates, they are not oily at all. Egg benedicts are normally served 2 eggs only in most breakfast restaurants. The Scratch Room standard are 3 eggs in a Benedict order. Most of all, do not fail to get the banana loaf which they make in-house. It is the best ever!
I just chanced upon this place coz I was visiting an old aunt. Even my picky senior aunt loved the place. Servers are also delightful.
Only thing i didn't like, is the lighting. It's way too dark.

Husband and I stopped here late this morning after our other breakfast plans fell through....and I'm so glad we found this place! Service, top notch! Wr had coffee and water within seconds of sitting down (and they were packed), we had someone else greet us making sure someone was getting our drinks, and they stayed attentive checking in on us. There were two servers and a busboy handling the entire dining room and as someone who has worked in the industry and felt like service lacks lately in restaurants this place impressed me! The food is tasty and fresh oh and piping hot!! We don't live here but this place is on our list when we are in town again. I got the Mexican omelette, which was very good, and my husband got the tamale cake bene which was very good and was such a great idea! Loved this place! Oh and the price...very fair.

Stopped by on a Sunday at 12:45, I found on Yelp while searching for breakfasts in Anaheim. It is in a small strip mall. It is larger than it looks from the outside, it was very busy when we arrived. We only had to wait 10 min to be seated. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. It is very loud due to all tables being full. They have a daily "loaf", a slice comes with the egg combo meals or toast, the loaf was banana bread and it was delicious. We ordered a veggie omelet with potatoes, 2 hungry men, eggs and bacon, and veggie hash. The food came out pretty fast, maybe 10 min. All the dishes were cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns were pretty bland, wished they had Cajun seasoning or something, that's just my personal preference. We enjoyed all of the dishes.

Just a really good eatery!! a lot of places have lost the overall picture of what a good hometown restaurant should be. The scratch room has captured the hometown field of food, the service staff is always friendly and top-notch, they’ve taken the time to invest in their atmosphere, and it is a unique little place that locals and out of towners should definitely try if they want a really good meal. Anyone reading this that’s from out of state I have traveled this is one of those restaurants where you will not regret eating. You will definitely get your moneys worth and it is in a good location between Knotts Berry farm and Disneyland.
