The employees here need some training. Some of them are incapable of bagging groceries and don't talk to the customers. Some of the kids working later seem to not want to be there. Not a good vibe

I am a Stater Bros customer for at least 30 yrs or more I love this SB on State College I have always been treated very well and have never had a problem with any of the employees . If I ever needed help with anything I was kindly helped. The only thing I noticed is that the young baggers need to be trained on what items to bag together keep cold items together not with canned items and don't put too many heavy items in one bag it s too heavy for an older person to carry if someone comes in with cooling bags don't put cans or non cold items in it. They just need to be trained that's all. I love all the cashiers and deli,bakery,produce employees too,some I know by name,thank you Tina,Alicia,Anthony, Dave,just to name a few and I have to say that the current store manager is great!!

I ❤️ Stater Bros. I do most of my shopping there. I always buy all my meat there and when I tell people if they want a great cut of delicious meat, they must go to Staters.. and surprising (NOT) everyone agrees with me. And this Staters now carries Extremly thick bacon. Go there. Buy it. Take it home & cook it. The store is always clean. Everything is easy to find. They do not have self check-out, but the service is wonderful.

Had a pretty bad experience here I'm in the middle of shopping and I see someone from the meat department come out and approach a few young customers he commented to them oh you smoke smoking weed or nicotine bro when they told him weed he used a few swear words that I didn't like I think it's so unprofessional and it just rubs you in the wrong way I can't believe someone would use such profane language in front of customers absolutely horrible display of customer service if I ever saw that person again I would let the manager know I was in a rush at the time

Update November 2024: A never ending cycle of new managers, new faces from stock personal,deli meats and cashiers. I can't keep up. I stop trying get a smile or a brief friendly conversation out of them. Nobody smiles anymore or they just don't want to. I mean that's understandable they are there doing a job. They want to punch in and punch out and go home. All the regular friendly faces are all gone from produce, meats, cashiers and way back in the cold storage area. I use to come in Hello with a friendly smile. I would run into John in the aisles. Spark of up a nice conversation. Now he's gone too. Wow!
Prices are still reasonable but noticed cluster patterns of long lines and waiting times.

I usually shop at Stater Bro's. I go there because the prices are mostly cheaper then any other store. Plus its convenient since its the closest store to where I live.

Stater Bros seem to have difficulty keeping their handicap carts running. I have my own wheelchair but I need the basket their carts are equipped with.
The groceries are fine. The meat is real good and the people are pretty friendly.

So many things could be said, from the long lines, to the lack of staff, to the strange parking lot layout outside. Although the store is less than a mile from my home, I don’t think I’ll be shopping here anymore because it’s just too expensive. On average, you’re paying 2 to 3 dollars a serving for most prepared meals meaning you’ll get 2 breakfast sandwiches for $5 at this store. It doesn’t even make sense to buy groceries anymore because it’s becoming more expensive than fast food. On average, you pay 30% less when you shop at Aldi and there’s one just across town maybe 15 minutes away if there’s heavy traffic. I’ll be shopping there from now on…this is ridiculous

I've only been here twice as I'm new to the area. I'll definitely be going to a different market from now on. The layout of the store is...wow..just, wow.. I have no words for that disaster. Customer service is atrocious. Just this last time I went, I was going in with my cart, and an older lady worker, rudely cut me off with carts as I was headed in. She saw me because she hesitated for a split second and just continued right in. I was in disbelief and it upset me because I've never encountered such rudeness and lack of care, ever. The only decent thing about my trip was the manager grabbed a baguette for me because I'd forgotten it before I checked out. I say decent because he still clearly didn't want to and made me feel like a burden. Don't even try to ask an employee where an item is unless pointing is all you need to find something because that's all the help you will get. I miss my old Stater Bros. They were amazing and helpful to customers. Never did I feel like a burden and they were always upbeat and welcoming. This Stater Bros employees seem to hate their jobs and it absolutely shows.

This store has outdated items in the cooler in front of of deli. Most of it is over priced too, so it's particularly outrageous if someone were to buy something, without looking at the date.

Manager needs to train employees better. I called the bakery and whoever answered was so clueless and unprofessional I thought I was being pranked. He knew absolutely NOTHING about the store and sounded like he was on another planet. It was pretty comical but I wouldn’t trust them to get my order right.

The store seems pretty clean. I'm not a fan of the isle layout. They also don't carry a few items my local SB has. Customer service wasn't bad but it would be nice to open up other lanes. Hire more cashiers. There are like 5 lanes and only 1 was open with a long line. The manager came over and opened another line but took the people behind me first and that was a bit irritating. All in all, I won't be back at this particular store.

This was the first time I stopped at this State College location to grocery shop. The store itself is designed where the two entrances are right next to each other and there’s a small electric gate right next to the carts which is strange because you can pick up a cart outside also and it barely fits through this space. As for the inside, there is someone standing in front of checkout lines directing people which was nice. Unfortunately, the staff is not smiling so it comes across unfriendly but they were attentive to the customers. I also saw staff stocking produce and others arranging displays so I didn’t see empty shelves.

The store it's clean, maintained, and everyone's doing their job. Do not go to this deli they only seem to wanna do their job when managements around. The lady is ready to tell you that you're the one in the wrong when only one sentence was spoken.

I literally am tired of coming to a store and they are out of popular items...being that this is a market you should be bettet prepared. I have come twice this month and its happen twice....i ask can they cook fresh tenders at 3pm in the afternoon that dont have any...no answers from managers...i miss times when people actually had accountability at work...i swear the stores now have higher expectations of customers than employees. I know nothing will change....poor customer service , poor selections, poor managers yall can have it ill drive the extra miles to a grocrey store who doesnt run out of food smh

I’ve been coming to this store for over 20 years.
I’ve seen a lot of changes over the years, I understand it. But today I have been there, I noticed that the register clerks wouldn’t even place my groceries in my cart. And was already scanning the next customer’s items before I can retrieve mine!!! This store wasn’t even busy, is this the “norm” now? Are they not required to bag my groceries and place them in my cart anymore?

My husband and I have been shopping in Stater Bros since 1994 until now because the prices are reasonable and the employees are very friendly and helpful especially to my husband that is handicap until he passed away last July. I still continue to shop in any Stater Bros.

Nice staff. Clean store. Reasonable prices. My only complaint is the fact that there is a lot of expired food in their shelves. You have to check everything! There’s been times when I forget to check at the store and sure enough it has been expired for a few days. The store should be checking everyday…

This is a decent branch of Stater although it’s not as big as the other one in Fullerton by the morning plaza. Prices are still reasonable with the exception of eggs. You can get it for almost a dollar and a half cheaper at the Target nearby. Otherwise it’s a decent grocery story to do a quick pickup of meat, canned soups, and some produced. The store is also well-lid and pretty organized
