Stopped in to try this place on a whim and wish I'd have done my usual research reading reviews first so I could have skipped it. The employee at the cash register seemed annoyed to have to answer a couple of questions we had about the product they sell. The wait was 10 minutes which is not a complaint considering how busy they were so I did feel we got our order fairly quickly all things considered. While waiting for the order I went to a table outside and it was so dirty I questioned when the last time was it may have been cleaned. I carry a travel pack of Clorox wipes everywhere I go and it took 3 wipes to get the table fully cleaned. The chairs were equally dirty. Once we got our chimney cake we were confused to find it was more like a thick croissant and it didn't pair well with the ice cream, which was just a basic (but tasty) soft serve. Definitely not worth the price or the hassle.

The store is cute, very bright/pink/instagrammable -- along with their chimney ice cream sundaes. Very thoughtful presentation, but I don't think the flavor was worth the $10 or so we paid for dessert.

We went last year (sorry, delayed review) when Barbie was huge, and they set up a small cutesy photobooth to take pics at.

We were here as an overflow to Anaheim Packing House parking difficulties, so stumbled upon this to try when we parked nearby.

There were about 3-4 small tables to sit outside, otherwise limited seating/small store.

Not sure I'd come back, but worth the experience. We ended up getting a strawberry one, after they were out of our first 1-2 choices (everyone wants ice cream in the summer?)

don’t waste your time here. i was the first person to order and my order took 20 minutes. the place was very dirty and the service was horrible. while making my order the employee kept doing other things and touching so many surfaces without changing out gloves. served the ice cream and proceeded to do other things, leaving it there to melt. by the time i got it, it was falling over. the taste is just okay. i would never go back.

Cute spot with few outdoor seating tables. The staff was very friendly. The icecream presentation was great! The taste was more basic than expected, the icecream itself is just a soft-serve. Topping was ok. The chimney cake was something like a croissant, but it was nice to try. There were few 90 min street parking around the area.

Tried the tiramisu chimney cake. Overall good presentation, good flavor on the toppings. But the ice cream flavor didn’t hit the spot. Same for the matcha one. The good thing about the ice cream was that it wasn’t too sweet. Not sure how good the other flavors are. But worth a visit.

Overall, Easter Minnie ice cream cone we ordered was very delicious. But… customer services, cleanliness could’ve been better. My friends and I were waiting for our order, we had a family in front of us. We observed how they were preparing their order. One of the girls working on their order opened the wrapper to their fortune cookie with her mouth. Very disgusting, unsanitary and disturbing to watch. She then proceeded to wipe her bangs out of her face and move on to our order. We politely asked her if she can change out her gloves and wash her hands as she’s suppose to after touching other surfaces that’s not food and asked to redo our cone as she was already started on it with dirty gloves. She rolled her eyes and walked away, and moved on to another order. She walked outside to hand them their order, walked back inside WITH THE SAME GLOVES AFTER TOUCHING THE DOOR HANDLE, and wanted to start our order again. At this point we were being annoying and made sure everything was clean when it came to our order because that’s what we’re paying for. The other young lady then proceeded to help her and made our order. Yes it was a bit busy, maybe a little to much she could’ve handled that she wasn’t paying attention to the little stuff, but it was a big deal after all the unsanitary and disgusting things we saw her do and handling food. One time thing, will not return

My friends and I were so excited to finally get to come to this place . We drove all the way from Moreno Valley just to be disappointed. Don’t get me wrong .. the food was delicious. The problem was the young lady ( not the one w the red hair) kept touching EVERYTHING with out changing her gloves . The people before us had ordered ice cream with a fortune cookie.. tell me why she opened the fortune cookie with her mouth and then proceed to spit the wrapper out infront of her .. I politely asked her to please remove her gloves because they were so dirty and She touched her hair. She changed them out but then went to give someone their ice cream and touched the door..didn’t change out her gloves or washed her hands. So once again we had to ask her to change out her gloves . I’m just left wondering .. do these employees even have their food handlers card? She was also very unprofessional rolling her eyes after we politely asked her to wash her hands and change out her gloves . For the manager .. I’m sure there’s cameras.. date of visit Sunday 3/24/24 @ 1:04pm . Please review ur cameras .

Just like everyone else I’ve been wanting to try house of chimney! But the service was so bad I had to leave. The girl working never acknowledged me and my family when we entered which isn’t a big deal but she had her phone blasting on speaker! Her tia was yelling at her over the phone and I understand if she was having a family emergency but that was never communicated to us. We waited over 10 minutes to be acknowledged and that never happened. We tried going back after walking around and she was still on her phone!! Other people were waiting at this point and they said she hadn’t told them anything as well. I don’t mind the wait just say something 😭

Unfortunately it was my first and last time there. Was excited to try. The customer service was not welcoming. Person did not speak or made people feel welcomed. The staff were so nice, but the chimney cake is not. The ice cream is just standard soft serve. the cookies that garnished my tiramisu cone tasted stale. Indulge in a truly unique dessert that combines various textures and a medley of flavors, all tailored to suit your preferences. Picture a freshly baked cake in a cone shape, customized with your favorite toppings. The base is a flaky pastry resembling a croissant, filled with your choice of ice cream flavor. The next layer offers an array of fruits or cookies, complemented by luscious sauces like caramel, peanut butter, or blueberry. Finally, it's crowned with a delightful assortment of nuts. Witness this artistic creation come to life right before your eyes, as it's expertly crafted from scratch and using only fresh ingredients. The end result is not just a treat but a miniature masterpiece in your hand, tempting you to savor its beauty or devour its deliciousness. Originating from Hungary, this dessert is a definite must-try.

Delicious, cute ice cream!! A unique way to enjoy a sweet treat. Kids had the Oreo Overload (cookies and cream style toppings), Everyday Birthday Cake (strawberry dole sherbert, sprinkles & mini cupcake!). The cone is a soft pastry bread type cone = Hungarian sweet bread.
Parents had the Strawberry cheesecake, 4.5 out of 5. Good strawberry and cheesecake topping. Warning it does get messy! The cone has a hole at the bottom that they try to plug with a chocolate malt ball but it still leaks, on kids and adults! 🤭
Will be back to try to the Matcha Monster and other delicious creations!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and finally went! We had the Oreo, birthday cake and cookielicious, and they were beautiful. The presentation is amazing! I have to say my favorite part though was the actual chimney cake. While the ice cream was good, the chimney cake was chewy, moist and crunchy all at once. If I were to to back I would probably get it without the ice cream. A Hungarian friend of mine (chimney cakes are Hungarian) said that Americans ruin chimney cakes with all the ice cream, and I kinda see what she is saying now. Don’t get me wrong though, try it with the ice cream!!! It’s a really fun treat:-)

Perfect for Instagram. The ice cream is gorgeous and the staff is great. Got the Blueberry lemon and Tropical Fruit sundae. The Blueberry lemon was alright, but I only tasted the lemon oreos. The Tropical Fruit sundae was excellent. They used pinapple dole whip as the base, and that was exceptional. One real negative with the experience is that the draw of the place is the custom cones that they make in-house and cover in a variety of flavors. However, because its an ice cream cone, and they put so much on the ice cream that by the time you get to the cone, it's cold and hard. May have to get a cone by itself next time.

Saw this place on IG and tagged it. Was excited to come. There was a line to order and tons of people waiting. Helped add to the credibility that I made the right choice. Looking at the menu I chose the All American Apple Pie. You could view the one lady making the chimney cakes and watch the other prepare our creations. You could taste the caramel and cinnamon on mine. After getting thru the ice cream I was happily surprised to find the apple pie filling inside the chimney cake.

As I peruse the reviews, I am noticing a consistent pattern emerging - unfriendly personnel and poor service. Interestingly enough, this was also my experience during my initial visit to this establishment. Upon arrival, I observed two employees engrossed in a FaceTime conversation with a third individual, chatting loudly about the amount of alcohol she had consumed. Despite their unprofessional behavior, I cannot place full blame on the staff as it appears to be a lack of proper training from management. It's worth noting that my visit occurred during the week, approximately an hour prior to closing, and there were no other customers in the store. I couldn't help but think that it would have been more appropriate for the employees to be more discreet with their conversations and at least pretend like they were working, given the absence of customers in the store.

5 stars for the aesthetic of the ice cream - like if there was an award for the ice cream that takes the most work this would be it! This is a cute little ice cream shop that has one thing different from all the others…their cone….more on that in a bit.

You can choose from any of their customized ice cream treats that are around the $8-$9 range for a cone (or cup) or create your own for $7.

We created our own. It was simple but absolutely delicious. Our base was Dole Whip (how could you go wrong with that?), we added salted caramel sauce, and chose a vanilla glaze cone.

Their cone surprised me by how unbelievably good it was. It tasted like a croissant/waffle/cone/Krispy Kreme donut and was so warm…the vanilla glaze was perfect with it too, not overly sweet and def not artificial tasting at all. It was pretty perfect and I could have just eaten the cone and been happy.

The people working there are very nice & there are benches to sit outside or it’s also a great area to just walk around as other shops and various eateries are there. Parking was easy and free also.

I’m not sure yet what kind of creation we will get next time, but we will definitely stop by again when we are in the area.

I never had an Ice Cream cone as unique as this. They cook the cone when you order so it's fresh. I was surprised how quickly it actually cooks so I didn't have to wait long. The girl who made our Ice Cream was really sweet. I loved how it came out because a lot of places never make the food how it look in the pictures. People marked as a bit pricey but for what it is I think it's actually worth the price. Like where else am I going to go to try a spiral cake cone in SoCal? It did melt pretty quickly but it was expected since it's the middle of summer. Overall if you want an interesting Ice cream experience to snap onto your Instagram I highly recommend. 🥰

Looks pretty but it's basic. Would be nice if they had different flavored ice cream. Thought they'd at least have the pastry freshly baked for the long wait but nope.

Honestly, it's mostly all for show.

I got the strawberry cheese cake; it sadly tasted bland for a dessert. It's definitely was designed for the kids and the Instagram posts but lacks any kind of memorable substance or flavor.

It's messy, so eat it fast, or it will drip all over the place.

The caked were delicious. However, the 30 min wait and slowness of the staff is just not worth the wait.

I had been wanting to try a chimney cake so when we found this place, stopping by was a no brainer.

There is no seating inside which isn't great when it's cold at night. They also have no seating outside, so we borrowed a table at the pizza place next door.

We got the Lemon Blueberry and the All American Apple Pie. Between the two, I preferred the Lemon Blueberry. There wasn't really any apple pie flavor in the other.

I loved the concept, but I think these would be better without ice cream. The ice cream made the warm chimney cake hard almost immediately.

As others warned, these are incredibly messy so be prepared. There was also a chocolate ball at the bottom of the cake which was an unpleasant surprise for someone who doesn't like chocolate.

Overall, it's an interesting concept and I'm glad we stopped by to try it. Go for the Lemon Blueberry!

The ice cream is really good.
Love that you have so much add ons.

4 stars because after trying it, I didn’t like the concept of pastry cone. It looks super cool but I understand now why usually it’s inside a strong and thin waffle. You can’t really enjoy the soft-warm pastry when it’s cold with an ice cream in it…

As Hungarians we thoroughly enjoyed House of Chimney cakes because it brought back memories of our summers in Hungary. Unfortunately, the menu has grown to include a lot of non -Hungarian items to please those that want something different and not the origin chimney cake. Our last visit was so disappointing because the girls behind the counter wanted us to wait 40 minutes for an original, simple chimney cake after they announced they were 25 minutes behind with the ice-cream filled and decorated cones! I don’t understand how the original chimney cake takes longer to make than the ice cream filled ones with extra decorations!! It was obvious the young girl did not know what she was talking about. 😔

This is an adaptation of a Hungarian pastry called kurtoskalacs. While I don't mind the marshmallows, sprinkles and excessive use of toppings, the pastry itself is just too thick compared to the authentic version.
The whole thing is just too...heavy. You'll feel bloated before your post uploads to Instagram.
It also doesn't help that there's a 30 minute wait to get your order.

This is a great spot in Anaheim with other great restaurants near by. For 2 ice creams it was 18$ about, a little pricey but they are very delicious! Each tasty dessert is made with care and tastes great. If you’re in the mood for some good dessert and ice cream, this is a spot to check out. Many options to choose from and can create your own. Staff is kind and overall a great first experience.

Delicious!!! What an amazing place. The cones alone are out of this world and you know what I really like about them? They're thick so they soak up the ice cream as it melts and doesn't really get all over your hands. And the ice cream creations there are out of this world. They have perfected the ice cream cone here and everyone should go and try it at least once. 10/10 would go again.

While these are very instagram friendly deserts, the actual execution left something to be desired. The “chimney cake” cone doesn’t do a great job preventing drips like a normal cone so it is insanely messy to eat. The cone also doesn’t have much flavor… but neither does the ice cream we tried. Service was also a bit messy with about 3 seconds given to figure out what you wanted. It was fine and interesting to try - but I wouldn’t come back.

I made my own cuz they don't have a pb choice...it was okay. After you eat all the add ons all you're left with is the ice cream and its okay nothing special. I did not care for the doughy cone either.

I’ve been wanting to try this for years and finally got the chance it did not disappoint. I ordered the strawberry bomb. The ice cream was very rich and flavorful. The cone is what you come here for, it is made fresh when you order. The cone is like a sugary pastry but the sugar is only on the outside. It was something different to try and i really enjoyed it. For being a Friday Afernoon there was no line

Having chimney cakes has become a family favorite when we're in Anaheim. They have exciting flavors. The special cone of the chimney cake is crisp & crunchy, sweet (not too much), & is enough to hold the soft ice cream. Watch out -- there's a hole on the bottom. You need to devour this as soon as it's served bcuz it starts to melt right away!

Saw this place on tiktok so my partner and I wanted to check it out. I mentioned wanting to support a small business instead of Disney, and both of us had ordered an oreo funnel cakes. I got served a Mickey one after a short wait and was told by my partner to accept it. Way too sweet for me, but was still cute and good. I was making a video of it so I plan on checking to be absolutely sure of the order. If I had gotten an Oreo funnel cake, the store would have earned 5 stars. We do plan on going back.

Beautiful creations, and a rare treat. Checkout the menu to get a feel for this unique ice-cream cone like confection. Price is a little steep, but understandable and reasonable given the labor time and effort going into the chimney cakes. Be prepared: they are messy.
