Rufino's Italian Restaurant

This place was so cute, the server was nice and attenative without being weird, bread was delicious, salad good, eggplant delicious, lasagna also so good, the gnocchi was not the best, fried calamari was ok (a bit overdone) but I asked for it instead of the other noodles that came with the eggplant, the canolli was excellent and the Gelato perfect too. Would eat there again if we lived nearby.

I am a Chauffeur and I enjoy supporting Mom and Pop restaurants, Italian is one of my favorites. I was searching for pizza and stumbled upon Rufino’s via google maps. So I checked some of the reviews and found that they were very good so I decided to call. I was looking over the menu and found “Homemade Lasagna” and definitely hadn’t had that in such a long time. Ordered that with extra sauce and the side ceaser. I was able pick it up because they are in a strip mall and plenty of parking. I arrived and I asked if I could sit down and eat even though I had ordered to go. Rosa said yes and I ate right out of the to go boxes.
The ceaser dressing was delicious, the homemade bread and lasagna was delicious. If you’re looking for some Italian food, this is the place. Because it was close to closing I was the only one seated eating. They were finishing up their daily operations.
Rosa checked on me several times and ensure that I didn’t need anything else. I will be coming back again because the food is delicious. You will not go wrong here. Thank you. Limodriver30

I absolutely love this hidden gem for great Italian food in Anaheim. The fettuccine Alfredo is great, the gnocchi is great, I absolutely love their large calzone, it's big enough to feed the family. I get those to go more often than I probably should. Do yourself a favor and try the calamari. It's not a fancy restaurant of you're looking for that, but it's a nice little Italian themed restaurant that beats the pants off Olive garden. The shopping center has several other businesses, but surprising had adequate parking.

We have been to Bottega Angelina, The White House and so many others all I can say what a waste of time and money! This place is Authentic Italian food, service was amazing and oh my gosh I can't say enough how delicious the food was!! Beautiful cozy restaurant. We ordered the pizza, shrimp alfredo and spaghetti bolognese. You won't want to go anywhere else!

It has been awhile since I have been there but the food is always excellent. The cook Martine would make my meal special to fit my dietary needs. Hope to drop in again soon with my wife for dinner. This place is a hidden treasure. We discovered it about 15 years ago.

Service was excellent. Our server Adam, was awesome and attentive. Unfortunately, my chicken wasn’t cooked through all the way and I couldn’t really eat it. The flavor of our food was very good though.
They also did take it off the bill but still disappointed. I hope they can be better about the in the future. My husband’s food was cooked right though!

My husband and I ate here out of pure curiosity. We were in the mood for Italian food but are sick of olive gardens terrible pricing and customer service. We’ve tried other places as well but the food and customer service haven’t compared to Rufino’s Italian Restaurant. From the beginning the manager Mike greeted us with open arms. And not to mention the restaurant felt so homey. The night we went it wasn’t packed or loud. It was a cute romantic spot. Our server Jasmine was sweet from the beginning to end. The service was quick. I’m so use to waiting for maybe an hour for our food to finally get to us at the local Olive Garden. Here we waited maybe 20ish minutes and our food was hot and fresh. My husband had lasagna which is to die for. It’s perfectly seasoned and super melt cheese. The portion was great. I had the spaghetti Sicilian that comes with zucchini’s and eggplants. It was absolutely delicious. Each entre comes with a choice of a salad or soup. Based on the food and customer service I would hands down recommend to check this cute place out. Definitely better than Olive Garden

I absolutely love this hidden gem for great Italian food in Anaheim. The fettuccine Alfredo is great, the gnocchi is great, I absolutely love their large calzone, its big enough to feed the family. I get those to go more often than I probably should. Do yourself a favor and try the calamari. Its not a fancy restaurant of youre looking for that, but its a nice little Italian themed restaurant that beats the pants off Olive garden. Came with a big group, food was ok until i found a hair in my alfredo. Other than that service was slow and everything on the table was sticky. The bathroom is dirty and someone didnt flush there singular #2. Overall 0/10 will not be coming again.

1. Mediocre Service Right off the start. Server made us wait over 20 mins just to get seated they werent so busy and we were just a party of 2. 2. Our server was very passive agressive/ seemed very annoyed when asked questions about the food. 3. Barely checked up on us and took forever to collect the tab 4. Fake five star reviews. My family and I dined here last year. The food was oily and not that good. The worst part was when we got our check, they added a credit card fee, which was nowhere mentioned on their menu. (We spent over $50.) I couldnt help but notice we were the only Asian customers and felt discriminated against. Would never come back here.

Found this awsome place when we were here for some games In Anaheim. Food was delicious, first night I had chicken Michael Angelo loaded with flavor.,side salad was fresh& good. Tonight we shared the Cioppino and a salad was more then enough. To top it off homemade Spamoni WOW you should try this place.

Disneyland vacation and craving some Italian, Ruffinos nailed it. Little gem tucked in to a strip mall with a fun little pickup counter inside. We ordered pick up, so I cant comment on the internals but the food... man. Two Pizzas, a Calzone, and Spaghetti Bolognese. Check Ruffinos out. Food

It took 20 min to take our drink order. The Italian sodas where gross, fanta would have been better. Bread was ok, the carbonara was not great. I wouldnt go back.

We are travelling on a family vacation and we have two children, 8 and 6. We stopped after a long day at the park and enjoyed a fabulous meal! The service was personable, kind, and just so lovely! Great atmosphere-like a small family owned restaurant. And to top it all off, the food was incredible!!! We had the bruschetta and cheese toast for an appetizer, which was just amazing. It was easily the freshest and best flavoured bruschetta we have ever had. The meals were also top quality. Their food was clearly made from high quality, fresh ingredients. A great find on our way back to or lodging! We will definitely be going back when we are in the area again! Thank you for a great dinner!

INCREDIBLE ITALIAN Lovely mom & pop joint serving up scratch-made grub for a very reasonable price. I think this spot is best approached family style. The portions are big and easily shareable. Focaccia is given complimentary and is greasy perfection in breadstick form. We ordered the perfect amount of food for a group of six with two slices of pizza leftover: Calamari House Salads x6 Small Rufino s Pizza Bolognese Chicken Parmesan Lasagna Fecttucine Alfredo I would order everything again except the pizza. It was a bit under done and had globby cheese. My favorite was the chicken Parmesan or the lasagna. We want to try the minestrone soup instead of salads and the clams next time. One of us had wine and the others had Italian sodas. Kid-friendliness: High chairs available Wheelchair accessibility: Roll in door, but not accessible bathroom.

Beautiful family-owned restaurant. The food is good and the staff is friendly. I would recommend. Vegetarian options: You can get pretty much any pasta dish as vegetarian with just cheese and sauce.

When I tell you me and my family came here to eat on Friday the 2nd of February 2024 and the food was amazing the service was perfect ! It gave me a good home feeling like my grandparents house or something similar. The Italian Soda was tasty . I had the chicken Alfredo fettuccine, which was amazing creamy and well seasoned. This is seriously the best pasta & food I ve ever had!! I live 7 hours away and would drive all the way back just for this restaurant alone. The owner was so nice and helpful and the food easily beats any other restaurant (if you haven t tried the lamb shank you definitely need to!)

The food at Rufinos was outstanding, especially their homemade pasta dishes. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff made the dining experience even better especially from Rose. Fantastic place for a meal with great hospitality! Had the lasagna which was amazing. My daughter had a Calzone which was gigantic and my son had Fettuccine Alfredo (delicious). My server (I think the owner) was so welcoming and suggested a perfect wine pairing for dinner. If Im ever back in the area, this will be a must stop!

This is an absolutely fantastic restaurant. I find it hard to find a good Italian spot. Not anymore. Check out Rufinos! My man took me here for a date Intimate atmosphere, delicious food and the best customer service Ive received going out to eat in a long while. The owner, Mike is a sweetheart and is the beating heart of his establishment. I will definitely be back! Make sure to get yourself one of the home made canolis!

Met a friend in from out or town and neither of us wanted a chain restaurant. We found this place via a Google search around the Anaheim area. Not much to look at outside but cute inside very good service great prices the food was all delicious. Everything is house made, including the desserts. Would highly recommend this place, if looking for solid Italian food at a reasonable price that is not some god-awful chain.

I hate rating independent restaurants low but here we go. Food was okay, but lacked real flavor, marinara sauce was bland. The place was extremely messy and there were a lot of gnats, which made me worry about how clean the kitchen is. Staff were very friendly.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of dining at a great Italian restaurant owned by a family. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel at home. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff that went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. They have an extensive selection of Italian dishes, all cooked to perfection. The flavor combinations were delicious, and each dish had its own unique flavor. The prices were very reasonable, and we felt like we had great value for the money. We would highly recommend this family-owned Italian restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Found this place on Google and we were really ready to eat. Yes its in a strip mall. Its small and we were eating mid-afternoon. But the host-owner was personable, helpful and knowledgeable of real Sicilian food. Yumm

The best Italian food I have had ever here in Anaheim so far. Everything from their Garlic bread to their fresh made pizza is amazing. I usually get chicken parm and Spaghetti with Meatballs. Hubby gets lasagna and we always have enough to share and take home. Their serving size is good for their price.

My family and I decided to come here before going to Downtown Disney, and boy are we glad! The food was absolutely amazing. From the bread to the minestrone, to the ravioli; everything was flavorful and exquisite. We are so glad to have found this little hole in the wall. This isn t some chain restaurant where they re only concerned with how many seats they fill; you can tell this was someone s dream once. They care about you and your experience dinning there, and the quality of service and food shows. The prices were also incredible considering the cost of most other places nowadays. I won t lie, it s a bit vintage, but come with your mind and your mouth open, and you won t be disappointed.

Our first time there and we had high expectations. I had the trio, which was fettuccine alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmesan. I have to admit I expected a much larger portion considering the price point. The chicken was maybe a quarter inch thick including the breading. Most of the taste was the bread and cheese. The lasagna was okay, but nothing extraordinary. The fettuccine alfredo was gummy, for lack of a better way of describing it. There was not much of a flavor to it. My husband has spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti seemed just about as gummy as the fettuccine. The meatballs were not too bad. I like the more than he did. We both liked the bread that came with the meal and we ordered some cheese bread as well. The cheese bread was good. The server was polite but not very attentive even though I believe we were the only two in the restaurant at the time. We never got our drinks refilled. At the end of the meal, we sat there waiting for him to present the check but had to ask for it along with two boxes to take some food home. If they had a dessert menu, we did not see it. I hope at some point they will be able to remodel the bathrooms. Overall, It was not a bad meal. But, for the price of the meals and the size of the portions, I am not sure if we will be back again. Parking: Plenty of parking out front. Wheelchair accessibility: I do not think a wheelchair would get around easily there, especially in the bathroom.

The place has really the italian ambience and the food is decently good, friendly service. Not crowded and quiet. The womens bathroom was well stocked but not maintained, I mean, being a slow business day they can make time to keep it clean. But the service is nice: I asked for iced coffee which is not even part of the menu and they made it for me. I recommend to give this place a try.

I had low expectations coming in because the decor was outdated and the olive oil and salt shaker dispensers were dirty. I equated that to mean that the food was not going to look appetizing either, but I was very wrong. To start, I had an eggplant caprese which I could not get enough of. The basil on top of it was a little overwhelming, but very easily removed. I would eat 3 more if I could. It was simply delicious and a perfect substitute for a traditional caprese because I do not like raw tomato. For my entree, I ordered the trio which exceeded my expectations as well. The Alfredo sauce was the perfect balance of creamy and cheesy. Definitely homemade. The lasagna was packed with meat and ricotta that fell onto the plate blended deliciously with the bolognese sauce. As for the chicken parmigiana, I felt that it was a little bland. I ate it hours later though since I could not finish the whole meal in one sitting. It was good, but surely it wouldve tasted much better had I eaten it while it was still fresh and sitting with the other sauces. So, that was probably my fault, not the restaurants. My entree came with a garden salad which I had with Italian sauce. It was nothing special. I wouldve preferred a Ceasar salad, but it was as good as you can expect from a garden salad. For my son, I ordered a small pepperoni pizza. I didnt have any, but he seemed satisfied. We were given freshly baked bread covered in Parmessan which was good as well, but we were not provided with butter. To be fair, it didnt really need it because they were already oily. And for our drinks, we were served with very large cups which Mike (? I believe) refilled promptly. He was very attentive and even helped pack my to-go boxes. The service and the food was amazing. I will definitely be returning. I wouldve rated 5 stars if it hadnt been for the dirtiness on the olive oil dispenser and salt shaker. Small details when compared to the imaculate food and service, but cleanliness is very important.

This place was awesome! The prices were great and the food was delicious. I tried everyones dish at our table and everything was unique and devine. My mother in law had a white cream chicken broccoli dish which was the best one out of all of them. Every sauce is homemade and their menu is extensive. Wine with meal was smooth. I highly recommend. Good thing I dont live in Anaheim, Id be eating here all the time!

This place was absolutely amazing, after a long day out this was a quiet place to relax for dinner. The pizza was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend, it was also a good value for the cost, the manager/owner is very involved and friendly. If you have a family of 4 the medium pizza would likely feed everyone. Will definitely visit again!

Too much oil or butter on the dishes, it is impossible to eat like this unless you want to give yourself a heart attack by clogging your arteries with so much fat. There is a lack of staff to serve the tables, and the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. Im very sorry but the place doesnt deserve any stars.

Went to this delicious restaurant yesterday for my 21st birthday and it was the best experience and service I had ever had. Mike was so kind to wait for my family and I due to it being around closing time but he took us in and was so kind. I definitely recommend coming here and requesting Mike to serve you. I had high hopes for this place. Was hungry after a long days work, and wanted something warm in my stomach. A lasagna and gnocchi sounds good, I thought to myself. I unfortunately was wrong. I dont really like to give poor star reviews, but I had to for this one. I feel like I would have been better off with a Stouffers frozen lasagna. I dont know how its possible, but it literally had NO flavor. I was shocked, I had to eat something else to verify that I didnt loose my sense of taste and smell with possible corona. I still had them. It was almost like in a marinara soup (I did take out, and as you can see from my photo). The gnocchi, however, had flavor. Man oh man though was it swimming in this oily, pesto sauce that was just too strong for me. The sausage and potato dumplings were good, but it was just DROWNED in sauce, even more than the Pesto. Maybe I should have asked for the houses signature dish, and like I said maybe that day was not a good day. I thought for sure with all the plaques with positive certifications in them would have been evident enough that I was going to have delicious Italian cuisine. If you can, change my mind. Until then, Ill carry on and look elsewhere when Im craving Italian food. -B.P.

If you are looking for a wonderful, intimate Italian dinner, look no further! What a great find. Rufinos is a small hole-in-wall Italian restaurant that will not disappoint. The salad was fresh, the food was warm and had a home made taste. The wine and the bread was amazing, as well as the Tiramisu. Do yourself a favor and try Rufinos!!

Unknowingly, we arrived when the restaurant had just closed. They sat us anyway. Started off with the Caprese insalate.Had the Managers special Trio. Excellent quality, freshness and flavor. Service was fast and efficient. Highly recommend. Nice people too.

Walked in with a party of 4, couldn t find anyone to talk to... tried to ask a lady behind a counter and she told me to wait for someone else. Someone finally came out and said it would be a 15 minute wait. We sat there staring at all empty tables for 20 minutes and finally just walked out and went to Gallo Giro next door which was awesome.

Amazing food and amazing service. We came in late and they still were happy to seat us. Our son spilled his water and they were so sweet about it! The food was so delicious. Got the shrimp scampi, pizza and a few other pastas. Very quick too. Authentic. Cute atmosphere. Our daughter kept saying it was romantic. Great prices too. Our 4 yr old wanted her own soup and they were so gracious to bring her a small cup just for her!

I called in a phone order of 2 spaghetti and meatballs (all beef) $12.99, 2 lasagna $12.99, 2 orders of cheese bread and one fried calamari $8.99. In total with tip, it was$90. All this food was ready in about 20 min. Didnt know what to expect when I pulled up to the joint because its located in an unassuming strip mall. Once you step into the door there is a pick up window to the right adjacent to the menu. I tried to get this home ASAP because personally, Italian food tastes best when its piping hot. These flavors did not disappoint and the portions were enough to feed more than the 4 of us. In fact we had enough leftover for the following day. The only negative thing ( if this is even a negative thing or a personal thing) is that like LOTS OF MARINARA SAUCE with my spaghetti and this order did my coffee return it. Maybe next time Ill order extra sauce. But check this place out. Service was quick, but due to Covid, so far its take out. Dont know if theyre thinking about outside dining, but I think that would be a good idea for them. Theres plenty of parking here too.

Just ordered take out, first time here. The gentleman that took my phone order was very polite, my order was correct upon pick up. I ordered the Trio and it was all delicious. My favorite is the chicken parmesan, it was cooked perfectly, not dry at all. They definitely won me over as a customer.

Classic Italian. I had the Managers Special, subbing Spageti for the Linguini. The Chicken Parm was great, and the Lasagnia was excelent. With the Ministroni soup, I was unable to eat it all, and I was HUNGRY! I am glad they are back to Seating folks inside.

Painted decor, great service. Tried the spaghetti alle vongole (clams) with red sauce. Comes with soup or salad. Soup was vegetable in tomato. Soup was ok. The spaghetti sauce was excellent, the clams overdone, the pasta ok. The homemade focaccia bread was also excellent. Lost a star for the restrooms.
