What a fantastic lunch we had there! The place looked great… nice enough to impress if you had an important appointment. The service was really good without being intrusive. Everything was made fresh and cooked to order. The juicy chicken was flavourful but we loved the Adas polo so much! The rice was really fluffy and tasty. Definitely going back

I felt the waiter trying to up-sell everything a bit too much! I dread going to a neighborhood restaurant for a casual meal, and I am all of a sudden dealing with a used car salesman rather than a straight forward server.

I dread restaurants that refer to non-bottled water as tap water, almost belittling for not ordering bottled water.

Up-selling didn't just end with water.

When I asked the waiter for popular choices, he recommended the family meal. We were a party of 3, and he recommended a family meal that was for at least 5 people instead. Almost half of our meal was left unfinished.

Best part of the family meal was the green salad - lots of leafy vegetables and fresh cut tomatos. Most of the other food that came exceptionally fast shortly after was Luke warm at best - almost felt like it was warmed in a microwave.

This was not a pleasant dining experience.

Good food and service, however, the portions are small for the price. We got the Soltani and the portion of rice was enough for only one person. The plates are not shareable. Also, they charge for water, they won’t tell. It would be nice if they tell the customer that they charge for water. Overall the food is good, but probably won’t go back.

My 1st time dining here for my friend's bday dinner Friday 10.04.24

Made reservation over the phone.
Associate was really friendly and informative.
Restaurant was filled on a Friday night.

We ordered entrees and all shared it like family style. Server was nice to put it like a family style platter for all of us to share. Food was good.

It's a beautiful elegant restaurant with modern and very chic vibes. Crystal chandeliers.

FYI Corkage fee is $ 15 for a 750 ML bottle of wine ONLY. No 1 Liter allowed per associate while making the reservation.

They offer complimentary bday dessert. It's a Mediterranean Sweet Dessert.

On Friday & Saturday. They offer live entertainment.

They also offer weekdays lunch buffet special.
Would love to check it out and visit during lunch for their buffet.

Located in "THE PROMENADE" In Anaheim.
Same plaza as Jersey mikes, California fish grill, Starbucks, Golden spoon and a lot of other Business in the complex .
It's located in the back and a bit hidden. More towards the railroad tracks.

Lots of parking available.

Came here today and bought lunch to go . They were very sweet, food was ready And delicious. Cute Patio too so I’ll dine in next time hopefully to utilize it .

I tried Bahar recently, and it was incredible! The koobideh was perfectly cooked, the saffron rice was super flavorful, and the chicken barg was juicy perfection. Amazing service at Baran! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is amazing! Definitely worth a stop here if you’re in SoCal. We got the doogh, mast moosir, kashke bademjoon, mushroom barley soup, koobideh, and Naderi - all were delicious! Loved the ambiance too.

We were a group of hikers, as we have arrived, Amir was very accommodating and prepared a big table for us. He was very patients and answered all our questions and helped with choosing the right food. The food was good but the hospitality from Amir and his prompt service made the experience enjoyable. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Baran, a truly exceptional Persian restaurant that exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for a memorable meal. The food was absolutely outstanding—each dish was full of rich, authentic Persian flavors, beautifully prepared, and clearly made with care and love. Every bite was a delight, from the perfectly seasoned kebabs to the aromatic rice and fresh appetizers.

What truly made the experience stand out was our wonderful waitress, Parto. She was the epitome of excellent service—attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional. From the moment we were seated, she made us feel so welcome and cared for. Her thoughtful recommendations were spot-on, and her warm smile and positive energy elevated our entire evening. It’s clear she takes great pride in ensuring every guest has a fantastic experience.

Finding a combination of exceptional Persian food and such remarkable service is rare, and Parto truly made our visit unforgettable. I highly recommend Baran to anyone looking for delicious, authentic Persian cuisine and a dining experience that feels both special and welcoming.

My wife and I eat here every time we’re in Orange County. In fact, it was our favorite Persian restaurant in Southern California until our last two visits.

We were treated very poorly by our waiter. Never checked on us. If he would have, I would have let him know that items we usually received with our entrees were missing. On top of that, every customer around us received bread… but not us.

Ordered desert.. they got that wrong.

I ran into this Persian cuisine restaurant accidentally middle of nowhere as I had friends visiting from AZ and as most Caucasians “LOVE” the Persian food and it looked like a good place to meet friends halfway closer to the hotel they were staying at
I was blown away by two aspects
1 awesome food 👌
2 friendly and courteous service 👌
3 ambiance 👌
4 live music classic Persian & American/European
It’s contemporary/modern elegant Persian style
But I was blown away by the friendly staff and food 👍
A little on the healthy side
But you can fix that with butter:-) 🧈
As a huge restaurant “guru” mostly front of the house of 42 years
I have to say well done five stars all the way
FYI I don’t rate restaurants highly often
I have super high speciations
Of curse I’m retired after 42+ years
But if I wanted to open a restaurant
This is exactly how I would do it
The name of the restaurant baran means rain ☔️ 🌧️ and apparently it had rained on their wedding
So they’ve named their daughter and the restaurant Baran AKA rain 🌧️
I also think it’s a B E A U T I F U L name both on a girl and restaurant “rain”
Strong possibility the owners are from the north
By the Caspian Sea IT RAINS ALLOT 😂 🌧️ ☔️
It’s also incredibly beautiful
According to google 4th most beautiful beachside community “on earth” but it also rains allot
Kind of like Oregon
Anyway back to the restaurant
Awesome food just remember to ad butter 🧈
To your rice and kabobs
Hospitality is in ALL Iranians/Persians DNA
I’m extremely proud of this
Iranians love to dance almost as much as Brazilians almost
The live band is a bit loud
So if you like to talk or….. just ask for a table away from the stage
They also have a beautiful patio with heaters and waterfall and fresh air
They are open till 10PM 🕙
Do notttt think you can walk in and get a table
You’d be lucky if you can get a seat on a barstool
I saw half a dozen people walking in and going to the bar
Most Persians IF not all don’t like to seat in the bar
And a few others just had to live 🚀
I ordered a few dishes to go
That’s how good the food was
As a chef I cook at home and love to cook
So yeah it’s that good 👍

He demonstrated friendliness, responsiveness, and accommodation, ensuring timely and excellent service for our guests. The food quality was superb, and we opted for selection A with substitutions to cater to diverse tastes. The ambiance was serene with soft background music, facilitating effortless conversation among guests. Management readily accommodated song requests. Overall, the experience was outstanding, and I highly recommend this venue.

We come here from south OC because of the food and service and have not been disappointed. Today we had Sunday lunch at Baran Restaurant and Amir took great care of us — thank you! We had a lovely time and really enjoyed everything.

My dining experience last night at Baran was a big disappointment. It started with an embarrassing bread basket with few grocery store style cheap bread and two butters hanging in a saucepan !!!! Considering the small size of the venue the live music was too loud and totally out of place . We had to change our seats to the outside area where the constant loud noise of passing trains only few feet from the restaurants was way worse than the music. Food was ok but considering the price we expected a better quality. Even though it’s only 5 minutes from my house I won’t go there again.

We went for lunch today at the invitation of some friends! We are all senior citizens and there were six couples in all. The waiter was very attentive and recommended the dishes. We ordered appetizers and then the entre. At the recommendation of the waiter/co owner we ordered family style and were served kebabs of chicken, lamb, beef and salmon along with tons of fragrant basmati rice. There was something for every palate. For desserts, we ordered an assortment of popular Persian fare. Everything from the service to the food was very good. The couple who hosted us picked up the tab and from what we gathered, the tab was reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone who has an appreciation of Middle Eastern fare.

Great food and fabulous service. I personally love the Vegan falafel plate. The basmati rice is the fluffiest, most delicious rice I’ve ever had.

We went for dinner on a Thursday, made reservations for four and indicated that we're celebrating a special birthday. The restaurant was pretty much empty. While we were waiting for one person from our party to arrive, two servers were approaching our table every 2-3 minutes asking if we would like to order our drinks and appetizers. Even though we told them multiple times we were not ready and would like to wait for our guest.
A friend ordered Smokey(Whiskey) and was terribly dis appointed. Even though he told the server that it did not taste smokey and the drink felt very weak. The server did nothing. Completely ignored his disappointment. My friend ordered another round of Smokey and miraculously, this time the smokey was made the right way. Tasted completely different then the first one. He made that comment to the server again that this drink is right. Yet no reaction. After we ordered our main entrees' the second server came and said " I will get family style". We confirmed with the previous server we ordered with, that we did not want a lot of food, as we did not want it to go waste. Sure enough they brought family style even though we ordered from the regular menu. Needless, to say we paid for the food we did not order nor did we eat. Food was mediocre. Nothing spectacular.

After dinner I mentioned to the server again that we were celebrating a special birthday. Again, No reaction. We ordered our deserts and paid the bill and left. Any other decent restaurant would have taken the charge off for the first Smokey which was a disappointment. They also would have done something for their guest's special birthday.
Whatever happened to the "Middle Eastern" hospitality?!?!
I will not visit this restaurant again nor will I recommend it to my friends and family.

We recently visited Baran for their lunch buffet to celebrate a coworker’s birthday, and it was perfect for our lunch break! The buffet had a great variety of delicious options, with the addas polo, koobideh kabab, and eggplant dish being the standout favorites. The food was fresh, flavorful, and ideal for when you have limited time to dine out with coworkers. Navid, the owner, was very polite and accommodating, ensuring a smooth and quick service. Baran Mediterranean Restaurant is nearly perfect, earning a solid four and three-quarters stars. The location is fantastic, with a welcoming full bar and a spacious patio that’s great for dining al fresco. The menu is rooted in traditional Iranian cuisine, offering authentic flavors like kebob and rice that are delicious. The live music is a real highlight—an exceptional guitarist, keyboard player, and talented vocalist set a wonderful mood.

However, the restaurant falls just short of its full potential. While the lunch-style kebob and rice dishes are great, they don’t quite match the vibe for dinner in a place where people come to drink, dance, and enjoy live music. There’s a small but essential gap between being a traditional chelo kabob spot and becoming the lively, upbeat club-like restaurant that Baran could easily transform into. With a menu refresh that matches the lively evening atmosphere, Baran would be an unbeatable destination.

The atmosphere at this restaurant was simply awesome! Loved the design—it was lively and welcoming. The music was amazing, performed by a very talented band that really elevated the whole experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish perfectly prepared. Our server, Reza, went above and beyond, making sure we had everything we needed and more. You won’t find a better restaurant than this in Orange County—it’s truly a gem!

We had our wedding dinner at Baran and all I can say is WOW! Everything was perfect. It atmosphere was beautiful. The food was delicious and the service was immaculate. I loved everything about the experience. All of our guests enjoyed it as well which I am grateful for. We will definitely be back!

Cocktails what I expected.

Service is the kind of hospitality that rarely exists.

The only reason I didn’t give a full blown five star is because I don’t think your staff should be mopping whilst guests are eating. This should be done before open doors to public and / or after business hours.

Spacious, well designed and decorated space. Modern furniture and a peaceful outside patio area. Very professional and polite staff. The kabob meats are succulent and delicious with perfectly paired basmati rice. The cucumber and tomato salad was delicious. The spinach, bean and veal stew was perfectly balanced, warming and delicious. The orange blossom drink was flowery and unique. I enjoyed the drink but if someone doesn't like flowery smells and flavors they won't like it

Paradise was found right off the 91 freeway in Anaheim! I happened to stumble across this place while driving home and what a find! The location is kind of hidden but is very beautiful once you come inside. We came on a Friday night and there were many families enjoying dinner while live music was being played. I’m not most knowledgeable when it comes to Mediterranean but let me tell you, this place is absolutely DELICIOUS! The food tasted so fresh and authentic. I will definitely be coming back with friends and family to try more.

It was my first time visiting the place for a Birthday party and we had a great time, they had live music and the musicians were very engaged and interactive with the customers. The food was to die for! I will definitely be coming back for more of the delicious food and see if I can discover other great dishes.

A small family owned restaurant. This place was lovely everyone who worked there was such a delight and very helpful! I went with friends and family for a Bingo night that was hosted, the food was great the alcoholic beverages were very good and worth the money. From the time you come in until you leave they are there to make sure everything is to your satisfaction.

Eat this food. This is the best "Mediterranean" restaurant within 10 miles. And I should know. I'm a connoisseur. They have the regular selection of kebabs, like most Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants do, but I rarely get kebabs. I usually get a more regionally ethnic dish, and this restaurant has plenty of those. Prices are a little on the high side, but portions are generous. I can eat at any area Mediterranean restaurant in the area, but when I do, I eat here. The atmosphere is very nice. Classy, even. I don't generally dine in though, and generally get my orders to go. My recommendation is that you try one of the many stews they prepare. You will not be disappointed. I never am, and I'm a connoisseur.

Compared to other Persian restaurants we have been to, this is way below average. You would rate this restaurant higher if you have no clue about how REAL AUTHENTIC Persian food should taste.

I would only go here if all other restaurants in LA area are shut down and I am really hungry!

First visit to Baran!
We went for lunch and enjoyed the meal very much. We both had chicken kabobs, rice, salad and hummus all served by a great waiter who was pleasant and very attentive.
I originally ordered a glass of sangria but had to return it because of the tartness. The waiter was accommodating and exchanged it without question.

First time at this restaurant the food is excellent I ordered Boneless Chicken kabab I ordrdered another rice the dish it is coming with white rice I ordered with Alas polo rice ,and Baran salad ,the salad for me was a little to soury because of the vinegar but otherwise the food is very good and tasty ,definitely recommending this Restaurant.

This place is very nice inside but I always like to sit outside in the patio. The vibe is great and I’ve always had great experience with food. Very fresh and tasty. Some nights there’s live music but I like the quiet so I still sit in patio. Service sometimes can be delayed but over all I like coming here. Prices are reasonable too.

Everytime we go...we walk in happy and leave even happier. They have it all. Great people, weekend entertainment, AMAZING cuisine (the best in Anaheim Hills/YB..along with top notch service. And full bar in addition to high end wines. It's truly the best kept secret and I only say that because it's off the beaten path.

I can’t say enough things about this place! The food, the staff, the owners, game nights, live music.. what this is the place you want to add to your routine. We need to support our local businesses as much as possible! The food is AMAZING! my favorite item is the salmon kebab. The execution is on point and the BEST I’ve ever had. I also love the fesenjen (so?), samosas the dips, the kebabs, I mean everything I’ve had was perfectly executed along with the presentation. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed.

Delicious! We absolutely loved the beef koobideh! There was live music and dancing on a Friday night which made for a fun vibe! Highly recommend for a more modern style Persian restaurant with all the traditional favorites!

My family & I love ordering from here! The food never misses and we can always rely on a great meal for a reasonable price. This weekend, we had a party of 30 for a family celebration. The owner was incredible while we planned it out a few weeks ago. Very accommodating & flexible. We were situated in their outside patio area which was adequately shaded from the sun. Will always recommend Baran for Mediterranean food!

Service is fantastic, they were so nice and friendly and they brought our food so fast.
Most mosir- Shirazi salad-mushroom soup and Kashke bademjan were so delicious.
We got beef Soltani but the kobide and barg wasn’t really good, but anything else was amazing. Hope the kebabs are going to be better. Thank you

I forgot to mention their special salad was oh so yummy .
The hospitality was excellent. We met the owner,, a very nice man. He cares for his customers.

I had an incredible dining experience at Baran! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality of The owner “Navid” and a cozy atmosphere. The menu offered a wide variety of traditional Persian dishes, and I opted for my favorite dish of beef kobideh, which was absolutely divine. The flavors were rich and bold, and the portion was generous. The service was attentive and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. I ended my meal with a delicious cup of Persian tea, which was the perfect finishing touch. I highly recommend Baran to anyone craving authentic Persian cuisine. 5 stars and I can't wait to go back!"

I ordered lunch for a group of folks who are in Yorba Linda, but I am in Texas. This process was very seamless and easy. I ordered the day of the event, and the delivery was actually a few minutes early. The feedback I got from those in attendance was that the food was great (one person said he'd happily have this meal again), and there was plenty for everyone. I will definitely keep this on my list of places to use when I have folks meeting there again!

We sat on the patio, which provided heaters against the night's chill, and they allowed us to bring my dog in, which was one of the reasons why we chose it over several others.
Everything smelled so good and tasted just as delicious. I had a delightful dish I'd never heard of - chicken marinated in Pomegranate sauce-and it turned out to be a very good choice, with Basmati rice served on the side to offset the tanginess(?) of the marinade. For dessert, I chose a Raspberry shell with chocolate mousse and a coconut sponge cake inside. Absolutely 💯 fantastic.
There was a party celebrating an engagement 💍 that night, which added to the atmosphere and made for a very festive evening. I live in Long Beach, and we chose the place as it was 1/2 way between there and Riverside, where my brother was staying, so it is out of the way. However, if I find myself in the area again in the future, I will definitely return .

Lastly, may I suggest that you add back cushions for the seats? They. are very big and roomy, I am very short , so I had to pull my seat right to the edge of the table to reach my plate and lean forward, which left no support for my back.

I can’t rate this place high enough. From the second we walked in to the second we left. Superb service and some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. I’ve had Mediterranean many times before but this was above and beyond. We got mostly vegetarian dishes. They had so much variety. Amir was our server. So kind and attentive. Will definitely be coming back here!!!

This is by far the best Persian restaurant in all of the United States! Although my mom makes great Persian food herself, we still pick up food from there or dine in quite often. Anytime we have guests visiting, we take them there because we know that they will be blown away by the delicious food, amazing atmosphere and outstanding service! If you go on the weekends, there’s also Fantastic entertainment with a live band and a beautiful singer with a magical voice! We most recently took our relatives therefore a mile stone birthday party and they treated the birthday girl like royalty! We couldn’t have asked for anything more! You are definitely missing out if you don’t try Baran! They never disappoint!

Unfortunately I live faraway from Baran restaurant and there are a few Persian restaurants near my house but I still order from Baran Restaurant.

Amir is a rockstar. To me, service and ambiance is as important as food. Every member of the wait staff was attentive, but our waiter was exceptional. I went for a charity event and the staff never misssd a beat. Often times, floor and kitchen are overwhelmed by large crowds that all order at the same time. Baran is fully capable of hosting your next event. My mediocre camera doesn't capture the lovely lighting. The patio is equally nice. Two people in my party are veg, so we ordered vegan falafel, vegan lentil soup, tabouleh and samosas. The soup was the standout. Everything had a little kick, but not too much for those who can't handle spice. I had the kubrick cocktail (gin, coconut cream and lime) which was perfectly crafted. My only complaint is that people smoke near the front door, so the smell of smoke affects the diners seated near the door every time it opens. Otherwise, perfection.

Authentic and delicious, the catered food was truly impressive. Fresh meats and chicken, along with delightful salads, were highlights. Managing my order was remarkably easy, thanks to Navid's prompt responses. Our church thoroughly enjoyed it, and I am undoubtedly returning for their exceptional food service in the future; it is truly worthwhile.
