As you can see i am a google reviewer - I go to many places to try food and this middle eastern restaurant was 10/10!
The steak kabob with rice was excellent , the two different hummus were so good !!! The meat was super juicy and the spices were amazing & The pita bread was fresh and hot ! Would come back every day .

🇱🇧 LEBANON (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - No matter what the meat-eating tendencies of your companions might be, start every single meal here with the Desert Moon vegetarian sampler ($19.99, above), which gives a table of four just about everything they could ask for. Four pieces of freshly prepared falafel form a border between their excellent hummus and some of the best baba ghanouj you will have so far away from the Levant.

A good portion of feta cheese also comes with this plate, and some grape leaves that will make everyone wonder if they have had better. If there was a Southern California competition, these would be at least amongst the medals. Along with the basket of puffy pitas that come with any meal and arrive still warm from baking, satisfaction has already been achieved well before any entrees are near the table.

WOW, WOW, WOW, AMAZING service and exceptional food.
The staff here are so friendly and attentive to your needs. I was really amazed. And portions are humungous, each dish is enough for 2 people to share and be full.

Overall, an amazing halal place for all your celebrations and large dinners. I made a reservation here over the phone for a large party for a graduation dinner and they really went above and beyond with the service! Shoutout to Mustafa and the owner for being so attentive!!

Food: very good! We ordered the giant Desert Moon Mixed Grill sampler platter and all meats and rice were cooked well and seasoned nicely. Loved the toasted almonds! I also highly recommend the toshka this was a crowd pleaser. Also make sure to get the mint lemonade. Their pitas here are so fluffy and come out very hot and fresh, all side dips were great too.

Service: exceptional , Mustafa made sure everyone got what they needed and the owner kept checking on us too. They even sang for the graduation and played special music in the restaurant and provided a dessert on the house. Additionally they were kind enough to place a cake we brought in the fridge while we ate.

Ambiance: Cozy restaurant, got a little tight with our party but overall great spot for family dinners. The restaurant is decorated with traditional decor

Overall, I will be back again! We had so much fun at dinner -- it made the long drive worth it!

My first time at a real Mediterranean restaurant like this. When you’re the only Asian in here and feeling out of place but the food makes you feel super comfortable. I have to admit the food was fire 🔥. I basically had two meals from my one entree. The pricing was really fair and good for the amount of food I got. Besides the food the service was excellent, they waiters made us feel at home and showed us what to try and order. At the end of the meal one of the waiter gave us samples of arabica coffee which was really appreciated by us. Love this establishment and the hospitality!!!!

Very friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere and best of all was the delicious food. I had the desert 🏜 moon mixed grill, spiced up kebob meats with 2 types of rice and baba gonoush/ hummus to dip your fresh baked naan into. Spicy and flavorful. Large portion. Uncle requested something tender and they had lambshank on special. Came on a large platter of rice with ground lamb a bowl of tziziki and an aromatic fall off the bone lambshank that he enjoyed very much. Large portions. Will be back.

This was my second visit , and the experience was mixed. I ordered the chicken breast kabob, which was well-cooked and flavorful. However, I chose the salad instead of rice, and it was a big disappointment. The dressing, which should typically feature fresh olive oil and lemon juice in a Mediterranean salad, tasted like it was made with rancid oil, completely ruining the dish.

Looking back on my first visit, I remember ordering the hummus and noticing it lacked the usual drizzle of olive oil on top. It makes me question whether the restaurant uses olive oil at all. For a place with otherwise good food, they really need to use proper olive oil—it’s a small change that would make a big difference.

This staff here is considerate and friendly. The food portions are huge! I ordered a mixed grill and fed my 3 daughters of under 10 years old and there was still food left over. I had a great experience the 3 times I have come in and will be coming back soon.

Went 5 months ago and the server was SO RUDE. We waited like 10 mins standing while he saw us and continued to chat with guests at a table and when we tried to seat ourselves he came really fast saying “you can’t sit there” when we asked why? He said “you just can’t follow me!” I refused to be treated that way as I was with my mom and nephew. We then decided to leave and he said “Great! Thank you!” So unprofessional and so rude.. we felt as if we did something to him personally?! It was so off putting and awkward I would NEVER GO BACK ! Never been treated like that anywhere LACK OF RESPECT AND HOSPITALITY. SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT COME HERE!!

This place used to be the BEST place for Mediterranean food, classy, delicious and above all they used to have the BEST service ever. However, few years ago they had a different management and we started to experience a bad service with lower quality of food. I have stopped going there, till I decided to give them another try! And it was my fault!! The manager of this place treats you with careless and he doesn’t care if you go back or not! We had a very group of people and I was talking to him about how many checks we can get, then he started to count from 1-10 !!!! I don’t know if he was avoiding hitting me or what?? I would never recommend this place to anyone and will never go there again.

We love going to this place . The food tastes amazing. The service and wait time can be a bit slow on weekend as it is so busy . We love the mix grill platter and Toshka. The meat is very juicy and tender. The rice that comes with the platter tastes great. Highly recommend it and this should have higher rating as it deserves more. # halal

Desert Moon Grill was amazing in every way! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with great service, and the place was super clean and comfortable. We started our meal with some delicious appetizers that got us excited for what was coming next. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you could tell everything was made just right.

For our main dishes, we enjoyed meals that were tasty and fresh. The real standout, though, was the lemon mint drink, it was so refreshing and tasty that I might stop by just to grab a cup on my way to work! It’s the perfect pick-me-up anytime.

To finish, we had a dessert called *Aish El Saraya* with a smooth cup of Arabic coffee. This final touch made our visit truly unforgettable. Desert Moon Grill has an awesome menu for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It’s easily the best food on the West Coast, and we’ll definitely be regulars here!

This restaurant is really a great place for middle eastern food! Honestly, it's the tastiest in Anaheim! The service is great, the bread is fresh and delicious, the ambiance is welcoming and transports you back to a Levant dining experience. Prices are very reasonable and the menu definitely has something for everyone. If you're a meat eater you're at a good place as the meat always tastes fresh and is seasoned to perfection. If you're a vegan or vegetarian, this place has so many options most all middle eastern food can be made without meat and/or dairy. Don't hesitate, give it a try, you'll be glad you did!!

This restaurant is one of the worst restaurants in Anaheim! Very poor welcoming! Very bad service! No smile at all!! Some foods are okay but others are very bad.
Too super expensive! A small plate of Hummus for about $12 !!!! They name it big plate but actually it’s small plate.
I don’t recommend this restaurant at all.
If you’re willing to eat Mediterranean food or BBQ go to Iranian restaurants, more professional people, highly skilled and trained, very cheap prices comparing with Arabic restaurants.

The first impression upon sitting down was that I felt like I was in a cage; it provided privacy, but I wouldn’t prefer it as it didn’t suit me. The partition around the seating made me feel enclosed, though it might be suitable for others. I ordered the mixed grill, but the rice wasn’t fresh. I would rate the grill 7/10 as the seasoning contained an overpowering spice. The bread, was excellent since it’s baked on-site. The garlic sauce and tahini salad were below average. The service was good, but the price was high compared to the quality

Amazing Middle Eastern food. The taste is authentic, any plate you choose will be full of flavor. The rice is made to perfection. Their chicken skewers are tender and very juicy. Any meat plate will melt in your mouth with all those perfect spices.
The one MAJOR DOWNFALL is their customer service. Like the review said before they don't take your order you need to get up and ask for your order to be taken, after you place the order the waiting time was 45 minutes not counting that the appetitiser was deliver until the end of the meal and it was cold. HORRIBLE service. Even the owners is full of excuses for the bad service.

This restaurant is a MUST VISIT. Please do yourself a favor and stop in. My mother and I stopped in today and we were speechless with the service. The prices may seem a little high but the portions and service more than make up for an perceived high price. Beautiful place for dates or whole families. GREAT FOOD. . Different Rice that comes with the main course are out of the world. Lamb chop is a MUST try and so is the Rib eye kabab. Other beef and Chicken kababs are very tender and juicy. Chicken Toshka, Mint Lemonade is simply unforgettable!! Very friendly service. I definitely hope to visit this place many more times in the years to come.

Had the pleasure of doing an Iftar here with some friends. All you can eat buffet style, with various koftes, rice, spreads, potato dishes, stuffed grape leaves, whole lamb legs. Huge dessert spread top with qatayif. The chicken dishes were a little dry, but the overall quality and variety were great.

Went there to celebrate our anniversary, but the night was. The food served in the buffet was EXTREMELY spicy. When I say spicy, I mean HOT. I'm ok with spicy food & used to middle eastern food, but I just don't know what happened with the chief. It was unbelievably spicy & HOT. I'm talking about the the samosa, kebab & everything except the Humus and other appetizers. My daughter couldn't eat anything, except the yoghurt & rice. I'm very DISAPPOINTED with the food & I was hoping to enjoy our anniversary meal.

I call them for iftar. Guy take my reservation and when I arrived surprised me only buffet served. Before here I called another restaurant they said only buffet during Ramadan that is why I changed. Here no1 tell me about buffet. So we need to find another location this is not acceptable. We are fasting all day breaking around 8 pm. The point is I invited some other people for iftar.

Insanely delicious food with a wide variety to choose from. Everything is well-seasoned. My favorite is the Desert Moon Mixed Grill. The Chicken Toshka and the Chicken Tawook Wrap are also amazing.

I would easily give this place 5 stars, but the biggest problem is that the pita can be rubbery or rock hard around the edges. Not sure why this happens, but this is the only place where I've come across such a hard texture for pita.

Edit (Feb. 2024): The pita has been a lot better since I wrote my first review. In fact, I like it more than a lot of other restaurants. That's why I'm giving this place the full 5 stars now!

I got there 15 min. Before they were close, I ask at the front is it was ok for me and my family to still order dinner I got told yes, first thin server told me, was that we had to order now because the kitchen was close and he wasn't happy we just got there, I will never go back.

Very personable loving service and very informative for a first timer to this cuisine. We enjoyed hearing the singing for the birthdays, and tasting all the exquisite foods. Had simply chicken Shwarma and Kunafah for desert. First of all, I enjoyed the ambiance and services that were better than food, actually that's what made food better. Food was flavorful and aromatic but not much spicy. I could taste the chicken itself cooked in charcoal, I guess. JazakAllah

I called in my order and was told it would take 15-20 minutes. I live close by so I went right away assuming I might have to wait a little bit. I paid for my food, one order for one person. I was told it would be about 3-5 minutes. So I sat and waited. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt because it appeared to be busy. I finally got up to ask about my food and I believe it was the owner who I asked...I told him I already paid and he looked and saw my food on the counter. Seriously..I asked him how long it was sitting there and he said about 5 minutes and I asked is it cold and he said "No it's still hot". Needless to say it was not "still hot" and he didn't even apologize or care that my food was just sitting there. There was plenty of staff coming and going and gathering at the front counter and no one bothered to even look for me or call my name when food was ready. Very disappointed.

The bread is freshly based, the hummus are fresh. Basically anything in the menu is very flavorfull and delicious. The decor gives it a little extra. The manager Nasser is absolutely the coolest person at this place and goes around the tables to make sure his team is doing it right. Great leadership and just an awesome dinning experience.

Usually I do not have time to write something but seeing the owner comment about his other customer makes me feel sick. I can not believe he is calling his Customer stupid. Focus on your customer service instead of calling your Customers names.

We go there on the weekends only. They have a nice selection of Mediterranean favorites including falafel, tawook chicken, kebab ans lamp chops. The portions are large and are suitable for sharing. The appetizers menu is nice. Place is good for birthdays as well with classic Mediterranean tunes to boost the vibes. I would recommend this place.

They used to be a great place to get Arabic food but now they’ve changed. I used to come to this restaurant every once in while and would recommend for my friends. However, the last couple times I think since 2022, I’ve had terrible food.
I’m sorry to say that but don’t think it’s what it’s used to be and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

After a very long day at Universal Studios Hollywood, we were ready to stuff ourselves with some good ol' fashion Middle Eastern food (As one typically does after Universal 🤔).

We ordered the Desert Moon Mixed Grill (our go-to dish) and kibbeh (minced meat base) for appetizers. They served us with fresh out of the oven Pita bread, and a side of Hummus (chickpeas base 🧆) & Baba Ghanouj (eggplant base 🍆). Both dishes creamy, screaming yummy in our tummies.

Our main course, serving a mix of Lamb, beef, and chicken, with a side of rice and garlic dipping sauce. To keep things simple. The 🐔 was good, the 🐑 was good, the 🍖 🐮 was good, and finally, the 🍚, was good. All good, bringing our day to a very plentiful end, and we all lived happily ever after.

They have plenty of items on the menu, enough for all kinds of people with all kinds of different tastes. The staff will happily recommend something for you if you are unable to decide. Just go there and try it atleast once. If you're disappointed, well, you only have yourself to blame (=

The food was good but the service was very awful. They were very rude. They seated us next to the main door because we have a baby stroller and made us wait around 30 min to take our orders.

Absolutely love the food, atmosphere, and the extremely nice servers. Had the hummus, mini samosas and chicken tawook. It was juicy and delicious.
