Round up all your amigos and head to the hacienda for classic Mexican cuisine on a muy bonita patio shaded with bougainvillea.
Menu has changed. Burrito senora used to come with rice and beans on the side but now it comes with a smaller burrito and about 6 chips. The price didn't go down. Don't even try to get a refill on your coke even though it's self service you will be stopped by a cast member.

They should enforce a policy of no saving tables. I had to walk through the line with my child in a stroller, and no one knows with me but getting food for four. I got that and then went at the seating area and zero seats for available except for about six single people holding 4 to 6 seats each. Total selfishness.
The layout of the restaurant does not make sense. Serving trays are at the entrance versus where you actually get the food. Utensils are before where you pay versus close to where you eat. For an absolute mess of going back-and-forth through one way single file lines to get what you need in this you have enough hands to carry everything at once.
The food was decent, but in small portions. There was no very kid friendly option. Either a hard shelled taco or an over flowing cheese and bean burrito.
And just OVERWHELMINGLY CROWDED.
I thought Disney had attendance limits to make sure this wasn’t a riot like situation.

Food was ok. I got the nacho fries, they were good, nothing special though, wife got tacos, again they were decent, but nothing out of this world, or above average. It does have a lot of shade to sit in, so if you need a break, and can find a nice spot in the shade, would say try em out. If you don't though, your not really missing anything either.

It is extremely difficult to find any seating inside. Not bad for the price of food and how mush you get. You go up and order then go sit and wait to be called for your food. I ordered the kids chicken taco plate for I did not want a heavy lunch. The rice and chicken was dry but as a taco it was alright. Maybe the normal sized plates taste better.

Plus, did you know Doritos were invented here? Look it up! Anyway, it's just a great standby for when no one can agree on what to get and you don't want to spend a long time looking stuff up or arguing about it, Rancho del Zocalo is always a solid consesus option.

Nice atmosphere and well themed as expected from a Disney restaurant. The food was as expected, good but not great. Service was nice and quick. I would eat here again but could easily be swayed to eat somewhere else. If you’re hungry for Mexican food this will be adequate. We had the Sanora Bowl, enchiladas and street corn. All plates were big enough to fill you up.

Food was tasteless and overcompensated by making it spicy which actually made it worse. The tacos were flavorless and the steak fries were absolute trash. Wasted $75 on dinner for my family of 4. The kids had bean and cheese burritos and were still very hungry afterwards because they were so small. Been wanting to come here for a while and what a huge let down. Absolute trash flavorless over spicy food. 👎🏼 The atmosphere was cool but I can't eat that so it gets 1 star. I'd give it zero if I could.

We did the Fantastmic dining experience halloween season special, which should be called the balndtasmic rubbish food experience. I had what was supposed to be short ribs with a sweet and hot marinade, but what I actually got was 2 small, very flat pieces of pounded rump steak with virtually no flavor. The sides were all flavorless also bland. Bland potato salad with bland rice and bland refried beans. I'd be ashamed to serve this slop at home. Their regular menu looks a lot better.

We’ve eaten here for decades. They recently revamped the menu and one item, carne asada fries, is almost vomit inducing. They put a slop of beans(?) and guacamole over curly fries which get soggy immediately. The Cesar salad was changed, with a different marinade, and corn nuts which my wife did not like at all. Also, they used to let you get refills. This time there was someone policing the soda fountain. No refills! Like their profit margin is harmed if you get a refill.

My girlfriend and I each got asada fires. They were pretty good. Nice portions. The erk I had was between staff which in my opinion, was unfriendly. And no soda refills at a soda counter like mcdonalds. After hundreds of dollars, you'd think drinks at restaurants you pay to eat at would be free. Really, my only two complaints. Maybe I'm just high expectations in this situation. But then again, maybe I'm not. Nice shade spots for the family though.

Changed their vegetarian options here. I asked for all plant based, but realized after the rice and beans were not vegetarian. I ordered the plant based tacos, which were tiny with 1 thing inside the tacos and some chips. I asked for rice and beans, they said they're no longer plant based (after I ordered rice and beans for the kids, specifying they need to be plant based). They also removed our favorite cinnamon sugar chips.
This is to be our go to at Disney, we always loved it. The kids had 1 bite and said it didn't taste good. So disappointed in disney.

Update 8/16/24: What can I say or add? It’s Disney, so bearable food that appeals to the masses is what you expect. Special menu for Fantasia show and we got the carne asada plate and shrimp taco plate. Weird “Korean” condiments on both. On the side for carne asada and on the shrimp tacos. “Kimchi slaw” and “kochujang” sauce. Salsa is extra and service is questionable as they don’t want to answer questions about their weird “Korean” toppings and lack of salsa for “Mexican” dishes. Probably still one of the better places to eat at Disneyland, but sure think they can do better if they wanted. The cashier is always great and we try to go to the same one.
——
When at Disneyland, there are few really decent meals to be had. The chicken tostada salad is not the best, but it hits the spot when you want something that resembles a salad, but also feels like a cheat meal. I have yet to try anything else here, mainly because it won’t compare to so many great Mexican restaurants in So Cal, but seems to be a popular spot. I really like the self service drinks and hot chocolate here as well and staff is very nice and polite.

We are so upset, just about ruined our day yesterday! As of June 1, 2024, Rancho Del Zocalo has a new menu. Rice and beans are no longer included and cost $2.79 more each side to add. Our burrito sonora was mostly rice and the side of chips was tiny. The tostada bowl, which quality had drastically turned since it being at the salad bar precovid, has been removed completely! Prices are skyrocketing around the park but they're reducing the food we get? We used to share a meal, now 2 plates hardly fills us two adults. Perhaps since we're already paying more to be there, raise the price of each meal by a couple dollars and up the quality! We won't be eating here anymore, our favorite restaurant ruined.

Update May 2024: The menu changed again and it's even worse from before. Got rid of Taco Salad. Replaced rice and bean sides with plain tortilla chips. It's like Disney wants to make sure you can't get half decent food in the parks.
***
Recent cost saving measures have changed this place from the best quick service in the park to the worst, and that's hard to do since most quick service in Disneyland is terrible food. No more taco salads. Nothing but chips as sides. Much smaller entrees. That Disney exec who said they would do their customer's wastes lines a favor by cutting portions to make more money wasn't joking. Super disappointed after enjoying this place for two decades. Disney is intent on making it nearly impossible to get good food in the park, all while making good prices absurd.

Disney goers this is a must! We make sure to eat here every time we are in the park. They have changed the menu and the signage is not current, but plenty of friendly staff to update you and provide suggestions. The chicken nachos were a favorite, but are no longer offered. The closest thing to nachos is a taco salad. I ordered the Carne Asada taco salad. Pleasantly surprised at the amount of food- huge portion. Plenty of seating outdoors with patio heaters. Free refills would make this place a perfect stop during the day- but you do have to pay for a refill if you need one. Always delicious. Great kid meals.

I have been eating here every 3 years or so since 2002. Food has always been great! Until today. Favorite thing on the menu were the enchiladas. Though now they seem to be a secret menu item because the hostess mentioned them when we were about to walk out. Should have just left them off the menu as to tonight's presentation did not live up to my expectations. Disneyland should be embarrassed. The sauce was great. But the "cheese," did not seem to be cheese at all! Cheese was not melted and had the consistency of a cheese stick with zero flavor! Sad! This restaurant was a very close second to Plaza Inn, but now not even on the list. Now to find a new 2nd place! Atmosphere and service - 5 stars.

A classic expensive food option for your Disneyland visit. But, unless you have never been to a Disney park, then you already know you are paying 80-120% more for the basic entree in park. This spot has been a go-to for the fam while visiting Disney as it is convenient, provides nice outside seating, is less costly than other options and has great ambiance. This is a grab a tray, order food in a line, get your own drink, pay and then go find a seat kinda dining. The food is of decent quality, ok flavor and average size for the dollar amount you spend. From taco salads, tacos, enchiladas and more... They have a decent menus size. Kids menu available as well. Wait time was almost nothing, seating was available with ease and the clean up team did a great job keeping everything Disney clean. Got the Taco Salad, chicken... Not bad.. A little small and lacking substance... But overall, it hit the spot. With the sweet sounds of Big Thunder Mountain in the background, it was a good lunch.

Rancho de Zocalo Restaurante is located in Disneyland. The wait is long and it is not worth it.
The place itself is super pretty inside and out, otherwise it would be 2 stars. It is clean and the service is very slow, but nice. The slow service is on the part of Disneyland who decided not to hire enough people. The server could not answer any questions about the menu. Maybe she is new. I hope that is the case.
For the price you would think the food would be just super. It is not even close. I have never had such bland Mexican food in my life. I used to love spicy food, but can not longer eat it, but this was so bland it reminded me of a cheap TV dinner.
It is really sad. The place is so nice looking and they could hire a chef who could cook or put together a menu. Not only was the food bland, it did not seem fresh at all. the rice was dry, the beans were okay, but the rest of the meal was not good.
I am sorry I have to say, eat elsewhere.

Some of the best food prepared in front of you in Disneyland. The restaurant has two cafeteria style walk up lines with a variety of main courses including a vegetarian option. A dessert station offers several tasty options. Soft drinks are self serve. You then take your tray of food and pay at one of two pay stations before enjoying in the brightly colored and decorating patios. There is an inside seating option too for drizzly days. Several stations in the dining patios have water cups and water service as well as flork, spoon and knife dispensers along with napkins. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

My wife and I both had the trio tacos - I had only chicken and my wife had one of each (chicken, beef and cauliflower). Chips and Salsa and 2 drinks - $46. Baja Fish Tacos would have been a massive improvement and $20 cheaper. But, it's Disneyland. What's not excusable is that we are in SoCal....get a decent vendor for your Mexican food. Tacos had 10% chicken, and 90% tomatillo / onions. Rice was "mid". Big winner was the $4.59 chips and salsa...well, and the coke. If I did it over, two orders of chips and salsa and a coke! lol. BUT, the service was quick at 11:50am.

What a disappointment. Disney isn't known for being cheap but the food is generally good. This restaurant has terrible "Mexican food". I would dare to say that Taco Bell is more authentic. The beans and rice are bland, the nacho chips are Tostitos and instantly become soggy in the nachos under the toppings before you can sit down and eat, the enchiladas are the dried out heat lamp style with a spicy yet flavorless red sauce, and the beef in the tacos, nachos, and burritos has a strange tangy flavor that's off-putting. I know it's theme park food but if you take a stroll across the esplanade to California Adventure, anything you order from the Wharf area is better than everything at Rancho Del Zocalo.

The food was better before 2020, but this is still one of the better values in the park. Pretty decent Mexican food - tacos, burritos, enchiladas, salads. I usually get the chicken tostada salad which you can customize (I get it without cheese and sour cream). I've seen other people order the tostada salad w/o meat and double the beans so you could get it vegetarian. I agree with Carrie R. that the cilantro-lime dressing doesn't go well, so I ask for it on the side.
The 3-taco plate comes with rice and beans, but the tacos are pretty small. If you have kids, the kids meals (bean and cheese burrito or chicken taco) are a very good value. Both items are bigger than expected, and they come with a drink (milk or water).
Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff do a good job of clearing and wiping down tables. There's a water station in the outdoor seating area where you can fill up your water bottle.

My husband and I really enjoy the chicken tostada here so we decided to go after I finished work for Tostada Tuesday. Their tostada salad is good sized and is totally shareable. There's a cilantro-lime salad dressing that is added by the cast member - but I don't really care for it - it's kind of sweet and doesn't go well with the salad, so I ask them to put it on the side or just leave it off. (*Somwtimes the cast member can get a bit heavy handed when adding the dressing - and it's just too much!) You get a choice of either chicken or beef, then it also has Mexican rice, refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, and cotija cheese and all of that is in a crispy flour tortilla shell, which I like to break off pieces and dip it in the beans and rice - YUM!!
We also got the Mickey Succulent Parfait - real sweet but tasty. After eating the tostada, we almost weren't able to finish the dessert.
It was pretty chilly because we had gotten to Disneyland a little late, but fortunately, we found a table in the covered area of the patio, and I was so happy to see there were heaters. Those heaters were life-savers!!
This spot is one of our favorites - and now that I know they have the heaters, that's an extra thumbs-up!!
*Just a side note, their Cinnamon Crisps are a delicious snack! Pick up a bag - they make a great snackie when you feel like a little sweet something while walking around the park!

Five-star evaluation is for their service! We found this restaurant when we were tired and hungry, and the queue time was not long, because they had staff to arrange tourists to order at different windows. The price is reasonable, the staff caters quickly, and even if the payment and catering are not together, it will not affect their work efficiency. We soon got our own food. When I went to look for the dining table after paying, I actually knocked over two meals on the plate. I was very embarrassed and depressed at that time! But the staff immediately found me, took me to another two identical meals, and told me that they were free, which surprised me and made me feel better. The environment is clean. When I went to get free food, the food I spilled on the ground had been cleaned up. The amount of food is enough. I haven't finished one of my meals. Visitors with a small appetite can consider sharing one with two people. Awesome restaurant! Thank you! Keep my vacation happy!

I did the mobile order because I thought that's the only way to do it now. We arrived at the restaurant early and I asked if we could sit down before our order was ready. The worker was friendly and said that we could. When my mobile order was ready, I got the alert on my phone and went to pick it up. The tacos were alright to me but not my favorite because I couldn't sub my sides of rice/beans for fries. My wife like her enchilada but didn't eat much of the rice or bean. When you finish eating, there someone who will take your plate from you so you don't clean up yourself.

I do not recommend this Mexican restaurant if you want to have an enjoyable lunch. I got the Burrito Sonora with Chicken which had rice, beans, and pitiful pieces of chicken and cheese along with another side of dry rice and beans. The chile sauce had no flavor. The chocolate flan and the Strawberry-Agave-Limón Agua Fresca were fine so that's why this restaurant is getting 2 stars instead of one.

usually i don’t make reviews at places i’ve eaten at but this has had to be one of the worst mexican places i’ve ever eaten at. as a mexican who grew up eating real mexican food this reminded me of the nasty school lunch bowls of rice and beans they served at my hs more than anything. it was so gross. not to mention how expensive it was. also who even puts marinara sauce all over a burrito??? i can’t even eat the burrito without holding a bunch of pizza sauce was my first reaction. i only had two bites and couldn’t finish it. i’d recommend eating anywhere else but here.

If you are not currently on a plant based diet, you probably have not noticed that there are little to no options on the menu for individuals with plant based diets. There is ONE option on the menu for cauliflower tacos but the Mexican ceaser salad is what caught my interest. I asked if they could possibly make this salad without the chicken and they said yes but, it would be 10 minutes. I said that 10 minutes would be fine and while waiting for my salad an employee came out from the back confused asking other employees what he was supposed to do with it. He than came out from the back again but with another employee by his side and proceeded to rudely ask me what I wanted done with the salad. After confirming that I just asked for the salad but without chicken, the second employee came out with it and quite literally tossed it in front of me. She is clearly working the wrong job as a Disney employee part of a kitchen staff and should go try out for a professional Frisbee team.
Long story short, my salad order exposed the lack of communication among the kitchen staff and terrible customer service manners of that second employee. I can only hope that with these evolving times, with more people adopting a plant based diet, that Disney could accommodate our lifestyle.

One of the better food options in the park. It’s one of the few options that isn’t just hamburgers and sandwiches or cart food. It isn’t the most authentic Mexican food but it’s still tasty. I had the taco trio and I enjoyed it except for the cauliflower one. The cinnamon crisps are also tasty.

I got the cauliflower tacos. Chips and salsa and the strawberry aqua fresca! It's was too much food for me but, so delicious!! The decor of the restaurant makes for a nice view while enjoying your meal too. Im delighted that there are so many tasty vegan options now between Disneyland, Disney California adventure and downtown disney!!

Rancho Del Zocalo Restaurant in Frontierland section of Disneyland Park is a nice fast dining Mexican restaurant. While not that authentic, the food was still a good selection at a good price. I got the three street tacos which came with a side of rice and beans. The beans slapped and the rice was alright but it doesn't compare to mi suegra's cooking. The chicken and steak tacos were good but the cauliflower taco definitely was not it. I washed it down with some pretty decent horchata. My wife got the chicken burrito which also included a side of rice and beans which we thought strange because the burrito already include rice and beans inside of it. The red suace on top was really good but the overall dish left us wanting. She washed it down with some strawberry Aguas frescha which lifted her spirits immensely. After all that we had a the choco flan which wasn't the best but also wasn't the worst we've ever had.

Good customer service, lots of seating, and good food. Just be aware that it's somewhat spicy. There's indoor and outdoor seating, which is cleaned regularly. Still that same Disneyland classic except with the little extra heat.

As terrible as it sounds it seems now that you can´t have Horchata without ice even if you don´t want to.
Last two days at Anaheim it was cold -very, very cold- so we wen´t to the Mexican Plaza to eat some Red Chile Enchiladas and Tacos, and as usual our daughters wanted to order two horchata drinks. When We went to order the drinks I asked them not to put ice, in the past I had requested this and there was no problem, but for Ashley, who was the person serving the drinks I had two options, either to drink the horchata with Ice, or no drink, because these are the rules at Disneyland, and apparently that´s how they work now. It´s funny because You´re actually paying premium price for a drink who shouldn´t be that expensive. We have been annual passholders for over 11 years now and things have gone worst every single day. There are large crowds of people, and long lines at the stand-by lines because of the genie + app, and the attention and attitude of the Disney employees it´s not the same as before COVID.
I wish Disneyland would change their policy and understand that the original mission of the park was to entertain and to bring a lot of people to the park so families could have fun, and not to rip off your money at every single time they can.
I´m very disappointed.

Food is top notch. Delicious, substantial, and healthier than other quick serve options here. Zocalo is unique in Disneyland in that you can get your food quickly without having to mobile order, and the food and atmosphere are levels higher than most restaurants in Disney. We'd been trying and failing to get reservations at Blue Bayou, but recently had the happy accident of eating at Zocalo at night. We sat down out towards the outer edge by the trees, and suddenly, unexpectedly, we were on a magical, softly lit date night that I'm still fondly remembering months later.

The beat restaurant at Disneyland. My daughter has celiac disease and they made her 5 meals in the course of our stay - not one issue! And the food is a-may-zing!! The atmosphere is fantastic with heaters at night. The customer service is the BEST in the happiest place on earth! Can't wait to come back just for this place!!!

I think it’s safe to say this is definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Disneyland. They have awesome pancakes for breakfast, burritos for lunch, and tacos for dinner. Love the sounds of thunder mountain railroad right next-door. The food is always very fresh and there’s hardly ever any weights. Great place to relax your feet and there’s also a free station to refill your water bottles.
My favorite meal item is the ranchero burrito!

Street tacos were edible. Chicken was flavorless and questionable. Couldn't quite identify what kind of beef was in the taco. Better off going to a taco truck. Beans and rice were decent. Typical "Mexican food". Don't expect much.

Me and my family ate here and it was absolutely horrible. The rice was overcooked, the enchiladas were cold, and the beans for some reason had parmesan cheese on top. All of us as Mexican’s were insulted. Never again.

Meh is the word that came to mind. I don't expect much from theme park food, even at Disneyland, but I've had better food here.
I ordered the cauliflower tacos, which were not bad. They were spicy, and surprisingly not fried (which I liked). The rice and beans were good.
For the ones in my family that ordered the chicken burrito, they were disappointed. There was hardly any chicken, and the meat that was there was shredded so finely. My nephew ordered their roast chicken, which was dry. I kinda expected that, which is why I didn't order it. My other nephew, who's 9yo, got the chicken taco. He's a picky eater, but even I knew it wasn't going to be good. The tortilla looked uncooked, and the rice looked so plain. I wonder why the kids meal doesn't have the Spanish rice, which isn't strong in flavor...
I did enjoy the lime tortilla chips and pico de gallo. They also have desserts, including horchata which looked good actually. But I was craving a soda, so I got a fountain drink instead.
There's lots of seating, but not enough shade. So it can get really hot if it's a sunny day.

My husband ordered the chicken burrito meal and he said they didn't even give him a warm tortilla. His tortilla was cold, with warm sauce on top. The rice and beans are mediocre and taste like canned food. Good atmosphere, we ate dinner here and it was nice.

The food was not good. It's not authentic Mexican food, if thats what you think you're going to eat here than I wouldnt eat here . Also the woman whos at the entrance is super rude.

Good Mexican food with large portions. Probably some of the better food I’ve had in the park that’s not a sit down experience.

This place serves quality tacos and enchiladas in Disneyland without Disney vibes.... Like an escape from the Disney fervor inside Disney. No character themed food here...but it is a nice relaxing sit down dining experience. You get your food via counter service. The food does come on a decent looking plate. It's comparable to eating at a good but not stellar Mexican restaurant. The scoop:
Cheese Enchiladas with red sauce: tasty, soft creamy cheesy center with red sauce and a side of lettuce, refried beans, and rice.
Trio Tacos: you get three flavours which are fresh beef, chicken, and cauliflower tacos on 2 soft corn tortillas eacb with rice and refried beans as sides and two slices of lime. Was Yum. Kinda like Street Tacos from a taco truck.

Came here during lunch. Service while paying was bad as I was accused of walking out with food after my mother paid for it. Tacos were a hot mess and tasted flat. Enchiladas were a mess. Left us feeling bloated and unhappy. Worst experience ever.

For being a Disneyland restaurant, the food is much better than your typical "theme park" meal. My goto meal, here, is usually the steak and enchilada dinner. The steak is always tender, and the meal is very authentic. My wife always gets the tostada salad with steak. I have never tried it, but she loves it. We always eat here, every time we visit. The portions are generous, and the price is very reasonable.

This is my favorite quick service restaurant in Disneyland. It’s tradition that family eats here for lunch our first day in Disneyland. It’s cafeteria style with lots of different menu options. You eat outside right next to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

Anniversary dinners here took our Disneyland trips next level.
The darker salsa is other worldly! Fajitas are my fav!
Best diet coke in the Park!

Went for lunch at the park this week, found that this was the best bang for your buck restaurant. I got a taco salad and was stuffed from eating the tortilla bowl and salad. My husband got tacos and was barely able to finish it. Restaurant was clean and lines moved quickly. Very happy with the service, only things that wasn’t amazing was the amount of seating, difficult to find seating without interrupting other restaurant patrons.

I would say this is the best place to get food in Disneyland park. The tacos were really good, and it’s the closest thing to feeling like a good value because you get an entire plate of food. My husband and I shared the three taco plate with rice and beans, and got a side of the lime chips. I would definitely say I appreciate the extra lime wedges they give you because it definitely needed that hint of citrus. Not only for the tacos, but I actually ended up having to squeeze the lime on the lime chips because they weren’t nearly “limey” enough, if you will. Of course we paid about $19 for the plate and chips. Which, no matter how you split it, is still a lot of money for one plate of food at an amusement park. But because the food was really good (the rice especially) it feels like the closest to worth it for the price you pay.

Rancho del Zocalo is, for sure, the place to go if you're craving Mexican food in or around Disneyland. There are a few other spots to get something decent Mexican-wise (the stands that sell chimichangas or the famed off-menu carnitas nachos to the side of the Grand Californian Hotel), but if you want good Mexican on your Disney adventure then this is the place to go.
It's pricey just like everything in a Disney resort, and their policy is to literally make you pour out a drink if you don't realize that refills aren't free ($4 per soft drink as of writing this), but it's a good place.
Sides of sour cream are free and they don't skimp on the Cotija (or is it queso fresco?), which makes everything a little more pungent and delicious—just check out the photo I uploaded.
