HORRIBLE. I have no words for how much I hate this restaurant. Weird dust kept floating around, falling from the ceiling, and landing in the food. Almost every single dish is COMPLETELY INEDIBLE, mostly due to the COMPLEYELY INSANE amount of salt. I would give NEGATIVE stars if I could.
The only person I would ever recommend this to is the devil.

Some menu items are worth the price, but some definitely are not. ( nachos worth it, fajitas not worth it. ) food was mediocre at best and wasn't well seasoned. Drinks were good, chips and salsa and table side guacamole was amazing.

The food is fine, but when it comes to food I want it to be better than fine. My tacos de pescado and chips and salsa were okay though I would have liked if they were spicy. My friend’s tacos de carne asada were dry and too salty for him. One round of horchata was good but the refill was surprisingly too sweet. I don’t know if there were multiple batches or if it was always too sweet. The restaurant’s saving grace was the staff though. The hostesses were very considerate and made sure the very busy line was taken care of. Our server (I forgot her name) was attentive. Oliver helped us get refills of chips whenever our server was busy. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but I don’t plan on coming back.

I was pleasantly surprised with this Downtown Disney eatery. It wasn't the best food I've had, but I wasn't expecting much in this tourist trap area. We had a very little wait for a party of 7 on a Saturday night during Spring Break. We waited maybe 5 minutes. The have a good variety of Non-alcoholic drinks which i appreciated. I had the Blood Orange Bittersweet. Very delicious. The chips were warm, the salsa was okay, but they brought out 3 baskets and 6 salsas (chips and salsa are not complimentary. Food was better than expected. Rice was a little dry, and I was expecting the chicken to be dry based on previous reviews (I ordered the chicken on accident), but it was actually really good. The green enchilada sauce was good and so was the shredded beef taco. No one had any complaints about their food or drinks. The only annoyance is that they won't split more than 2 checks per table. I get it, its a lot of work, but so is collecting payment from 7 different people to put it on one card. They did total everyones separately so that was helpful. And they split the cost of the chips 7 ways so that was nice. Bottomline, if you eat here, have reasonable expectations and you'll enjoy.

Table side guacamole and drinks were delicious. Tacos where meh🫤 and overpriced.. Waiter said tortillas were house made which didn’t taste or look like it. No utensils or napkins were provided. I asked server for napkins and never brought them had to ask another server for napkins..Restrooms were filthy!! Stalls had no toilet paper. Trash cans were overflowing with dirty paper towels.. We had a party of 17, so I made reservations five weeks in advance. I called the morning of to confirm thinking it would help them out and be prepared for such a large group. The women on the phone said all was good to go, that we would have one table upstairs to accommodate us. When we checked in, Rivas, who seemed to be the manager, was incredibly rude saying he had no idea we were coming. Telling me the women I talked to on the phone was "home by now" and he had no idea what I was talking about. He made us wait another 20 minutes (with 6 kids). Even when I approached him to see how things were coming, he totally ignored me, turned his back on me and walked away. We divided into two tables so we could just be seated and eat. That being said, our service was amazing! They were great with the GF allergy. Our server was awesome with all the children. The food was good. The shredded beef was really good. Atmosphere was also good. Outside seating is fun if weather permits.

The food is absolutely over priced I think that it’s mainly because it’s on Disney property that they can get away with that. But the dishes themselves were very delicious, and good portion sizes. The margaritas are yummy as well but again over priced. One thing that really got me was the lack of communication on the 18$ side of guac?? Our server casually put it out there thinking like any other restaurant it would be a small portion but turns out it was table side made and on top of that 18$. I’m sorry but thats pretty ridiculous, over all I could not rationalize spending over 100$ for something that would’ve been priced a fraction of that cost literally anywhere else. First and last time :/

We had breakfast at Tortilla Jo’s. Great tasting food, perfect sized portions. We had Ranchero burrito and the Avocado Toast, kids had the breakfast burros. It is kind of hard to find breakfast in downtown disney.

Service was excellent. CeCe was attentive, friendly and prompt in her service. She was always smiling and quick to ask if we needed anything.

Jose Luis was assisting her. He was super polite and friendly. My coffee was never not full. He also seemed happy to be at work and helping to keep the guest experience A++.

Definitely enjoyed breakfast at Tortilla Jos with these 2 amazing guest service experts.

Generally decent food. Nothing special for the cost. But you’re in downtown Disney so it’s to be expected.

That said this place is in need of a serious update. The cleanliness of the restaurant is below what it should be. Dusty and grungy ceilings, bathrooms that are in disrepair with broken tiles and floors that are covered in wet something from lack of cleaning on a schedule of any kind.

The staff was friendly ish. The server took our order and that was about it for $160 including mandatory gratuity for 4 of us (we had 8 total at the table so I understand the gratuity) had I had the chance to actually choose a tip it would have been 5-10% tops to the server and likely zero & 20% to the expos and kitchen staff would be a fair way to thank them for for their service.

My meal was made incorrectly (shrimp was sent out instead of steak for my fajitas).

After the server took out our order we didn’t see him till we asked the manager for our bill and boxes and only after that did he come by to bring us our ticket after the manager already had.

No one refilled our drinks during the 1.5 hr. visit.

Again the expos were better than the server by magnitudes.

Would not go back. Do yourself a favor and go outside of downtown Disney for Mexican.

I am really sad to hear writing this review. I had just booked our reservation to visit Tortilla Jo’s on a visit to Disneyland when I found out it would be our last time eating there. Our young family just recently started visiting Disneyland or a regular basis and one of our favorite traditions over the last three years has been to eat at this location on the night we arrive. We love the guacamole and I am particularly found of the Mole Enchiladas. We will miss this tradition of good Mexican food and pretty reasonable price for the Disney area. I know the New Mexican restaurant is about to open and I can tell from my research that it will not be a place I can afford to take my family to in order to continue our tradition. Thanks for the Memories Tortilla Jo’s!

The food was pretty good. No wait. My guest went to the ladies room and said it was filthy, so that’s a hard NO on receiving 5 stars. The service was on point and fantastic. The prices high, but it’s Disney territory and a tourist trap so there’s that. The drinks could have a heavier hand on the pour, a bit light on the alcohol ratio. The streak fajitas were above average and the side of rice and beans were decent. The shredded chicken in the enchiladas was great and flavorful. The chicken in the tacos were not as shredded so provided a tougher bite than necessary. Overall, really good meal with 2 margaritas. One was the coconut and pineapple and the other the Saint Patrick’s Day marshmallow goodness. So, besides the female restroom, it was clean and decretive. Did I mention Zlata was awesome! Don’t forget to hit up their outside express version which is amazing on the go with little time to wait!

I know they’re planning on getting rid of this restaurant, but if they weren’t, I would say it needs some reshaping. The fish tacos we’re not good at all. The batter was bitter and inconsistently tasted like the beer batter it was supposed to be. It had too much cabbage and not enough sauce. Overall, it lacked a bunch of flavor. The corn side apart of the pitch was very savory and had a great cheese flavor. It was supposed to be “esquite” style/inspired. The green salsa with the chips was really good. The red salsa tasted a little bit too much like oreganos. The shrimp part of the shrimp fajitas didn’t have the grilled flavor. Instead it had a flavor of shrimp that’s on a skewer. It didn’t taste bad, it was actually really good. It just did not go with the dish. we were here a little over an hour and a half maybe it was really busy, but it took us a while to get our check, a to-go order we had placed earlier, and our to-go boxes. guacamole is tableside so you can customize what does in it and choosing the flavor.

Absolutely flavorless food. This was hugely disappointing, the salsas barely had any flavor, we sent back carnitas tacos (greasy and flavorless) and the salad (wilted lettuce, cold rice and beans). The enchiladas were mediocre, but nothing we'd ever come back for again.

Of the restaurants we at in Downtown Disney during our visit, this was one of the better ones. That said, it was pretty disappointing. Some of the worst Mexican I've had. First-make a reservation. The wait can be long and honestly I don't know why. The service was really good- I have no complaints about that at all. Our server was great with handling diary/gluten allergies for my wife. The table side guacamole was very nice-see video! The chips being gluten free my wife could enjoy them! As far as the food- the rice was a tad dry and the chicken in my enchilada was also dry. Would I call this Americanized Mexican- very much so. Was it the best Mexican I've ever had, no not close.... Was it the worst??... No, it wasn't. You are downtown Disney, everything is just priced higher. However, you can potentially be happier eating here than other places in that area.

It's possibly the most bland variant of Mexican food I've ever eaten. It was expensive and flavorless. The location affords desperation in purchase choices. I'd recommend grabbing a churro from one of the kiosks and seeking out a different restaurant. It's one of the biggest rip-offs downtown.

Taco Bell has more flavor...
For our last day in Disney, we decided to splurge on a nice dinner in Downtown Disney. I am a huge fan of Enchilada Suizas and when I saw it on the menu my mind was made up.

Making a reservation was super easy. When we checked in at the appointed time, we were seated immediately. Our table was right inside the door, so I didn't see or experience any type of atmosphere. Our server was prompt and polite and then food came out quite quickly.

The Enchilada Suizas was bland and mushy. The chicken had the texture of boiled meat. The small sprinkle of cheese on top did not meet the cheesy goodness I was hoping for.

I was extremely disappointed. This meal was not worth the $100 cost.

Not. Good. Vacation meal spot that we will not try again after a visit to DL. We had a long wait to get a table, this was around 7:45 pm on a Monday. (over an hour wait, I'd recommend snagging a reservation if you are set on trying this place) We spent over $100 for three people.

The Food: Our food came out lukewarm. My son had a quesadilla, which was the only good thing. I did the trio tacos, and they were flavorless and the texture of each meat was off. The meat reminded me of something from a cafeteria. I only took one bite of each Taco and couldn't eat anymore. The salsa and chips were just OK. Lacking in spice and salt. My husbands meal was bland, mushy and unappealing.

The Environment: The exterior is very inviting but the table we were sitting at had seen better days and when I was looking up and around there was a lot of dust+buildup. The bathrooms were filthy.

The service was very slow, the gal was nice - but didn't seem to enjoy serving.

Overall, a big bummer. It seems like such a busy area that perhaps these are things that could easily be fixed to bring the quality of food and experience up to level of surrounding options.

Tortilla Jo's is a popular spot in Downtown Disney, especially during dinner time, and it's often crowded. We made reservations, but still had to wait a bit to be seated. The reception experience could have been better; the staff at the front didn't seem very welcoming.

Once we were seated, we noticed that the service was on the slower side. It took around 20 minutes for our drink refills, which was a bit disappointing. We were also looking forward to trying their tableside guacamole, but were informed it wasn't available that evening. However, we saw it being served to another table as we were leaving, which was confusing.

Overall, our experience at Tortilla Jo's was mixed due to the service issues we encountered.

Totally disappointed in our experience tonight. We ordered table side guacamole, a chicken caesar salad, a tortilla soup, and a carnitas burrito which comes with a small side of rice. The burrito and the rice were lukewarm. Actually more on the cold side. Our server was very nice. I asked if he could take it back and warm it up. He brought it back and even though it was on a new plate, the temperature was exactly the same. Not even a smidge hotter. A couple minutes later a manager came by and he said he heard that there was a problem with my food. I explained what happened, and I told him even though the food came out a second time it was still cold. He said he would go to the kitchen and see if there was a problem. We all expected that he was going to come back to the table and say something. He did not. I worked in customer service for many years and we always tried to make a situation like this right. I wasn't thinking that he would take off the whole burrito which was 20 some dollars, but I thought at least the manager would have came and offered us a dessert. Not only because I had to send it back, but then it was still cold the second time. But NOTHING! Nothing was taken off the bill, and we weren't even offered a dessert. Very surprised That nothing was done. With tip we spent $118. Including the ice cold burrito and rice. Such a shame that nothing was done regarding this.

On Dec. 24 2023 at approximately 7:00 pm I was seated by the a worker(Female) at Tortilla Jo's which wasn't the issue. once assigned I extend the seat for my mother as she is sitting down, another employee (male) approaches while already seated. This person then proceeds to say that "you guys need leave or get up..." Really confused I look at the young man out of words since I had waited roughly 25min for a table. This young man than says "I saw you (Mother, Sister, and myself come through the back and just sit down. . ." while slightly yelling towards whole restaurant. All while thinking man this guys is nuts, I asked "would you like for us to get us and leave?" "Yes! please if not I get in trouble." Man; I got up so quick and left to the front.

This rating is for the Taquería side. I went last night, and ordered the kids taco meal, and the young man was going to just give me a tortilla with meat on it, and nothing else. I had to ask for cilantro and onion. When I went to pay the young lady added someone else Nachos to my order. I said to her that they young men behind the food counter didn't tell what my order was and just push items off to her. She seemed annoyed, and was more engaged with talking with the other staff of the Taquería. She end up calling to get a manager to remove the added item that wasn't mine, but four (4) people showed up to the register.
It's would seem that the staff are less focused on asking and and confirm customers orders and more concerned about social interactions with there fellow team members.
I was really disappointed in the service I had received.

My friend and I ate here before returning to Disneyland for the evening events. We noticed this place was consistently busy, and despite not having reservations, we got a table on a Friday at 4:00pm. Our server was very friendly, remarked how busy it was and apologized in-advance for any delays we may encounter. Two of us (one being a big eater, the other not) shared PLATOS DE COMBINACIONES with three items. We got Crispy Tacos (beef), Beef Enchilada, and Chicken Enchilada. Everything came on one plate and included refried beans and Mexican rice. Portions were decent and shareable between two people. All three items were beautifully plated, fresh, perfectly cooked, and each item had a different sauce, which allowed us to experience a variety without breaking the bank, or having more food than we needed. The standout was the Beef Enchilada, it was amazing! The meat had incredible flavor and was extremely tender. The runner-up was the Chicken Enchilada, it had a slightly spicy green sauce, which was very refreshing alongside the chicken.

We sat outside, it was a fun atmosphere, not too loud or overcrowded feeling despite it clearly being a packed house. Thanks for the great service, food, and experience, I highly recommend this place, and would definitely return!

Mediocre. Got the tortilla soup & it was not great. I would not order it again. I also got the corn appetizer, and it looked great, but the quality of the corn itself was subpar. On the plus side, the Mexican Ceasar salad with shrimp was decent. The shrimp was the best part of the meal. They asked if we would like chips & salsa and we said okay, but they failed to tell us there is an extra charge for that! Outdoor seating near the fountain was shaded & nice. Overall I would look elsewhere.

Had an ok experience here. The food was just ok, about what you'd expect from a Chili's.

The star was definitely the salsa and guacamole. Very fresh and flavorful. The burritos were fine. Nothing special at all. I had the ceviche trio and they were ok. 1 or 2 tasted a bit .... off .... and I was nervous I'd wake up feeling unpleasant, but had no issues.

Drinks were fine. VERY overpriced and small for what you get and on-par with chain restaurants.

Service was attentive. The place was not super clean ..... which you SORT of expect given the volume of people they get and the amount of children, but I think they could have done a bit better in that department.

Overall, you could do a lot better in downtown Disney ..... I think? But this place is fine.

We had a pretty bad run here with our dinner after a full day of Disney goodness. Our server was polite and helpful but that did not save our dining experience.

We ordered cocktails, that were slow to come out but everyone enjoyed theirs. 👍

We ordered chicken fajitas and then had to repeatedly request the tortillas which were missing from the meal... waiting about 20 minutes until that meal could be eaten and had gotten cold. The chicken in the fajitas was bone dry, badly overcooked or left under heating lamps.

We ordered guacamole but the lady who prepared it forgot our request and we waited about 30 minutes before it was prepared and served. It was delicious when we finally got it.

2 kids in our group ordered meals with fries. Both arrived cold and stale like they had been sitting after being cooked for far too long. Our server replaced them at our request and was apologetic.

I requested hot sauce and waited about 10 minutes to be provided with sachets of sauce with very little spice. Mexican restaurant where hot sauce isn't hot?? 😞

Something was clearly not going well in the restaurant. I felt for our server who seemed like a nice lady but overall the experience was poor and parts of the meal unacceptable.

Disappointing.

We ate here yesterday , I ordered some carne asada tacos they were just bad. There was no flavor, didn't even taste like carne asada tasted more like the commercial ones they sell at fast food. Del tacos meat is better than this. The beans and rice weren't even hot. They charged $23 for 3 tacos and $4.50 extra for rice and beans. That's crazy! The only good thing was the waitress that helped us find a spot so I can bring my stroller since my son was sleeping, and the waiter that was kind.

Did not expect this at all based on reviews and such a downer after a fun day at Disneyland. Do not recommend.

Food I know is always great here. It's a tradition for my wife and I to eat here. Everytime we have been here, you know you get the free chips and salsa while you wait for your server. (Did you know thats not free anymore?) Cause that was news to us. Tonight we waited like 10 minutes before "Ricardo" decided that he would grace us with his presence. Ordered our food, then we were like dang inflation is crazy out here. But when we asked about they he's like you have to order them now? Um since when and I understand that menus are subject to change, but with notice is necessary. It's a common courtesy to do so.

We loved this place 4-5 years ago! It is still good food, but it has changed over the years. The quantities aren’t as big, you pay for salsa and chips and they have adopted “Disney” pricing. Still good food, but doesn’t have the same allure that it used to.

Went here for supper on October 23 around 6 PM.

Service is AWFUL. Staff are rude & very slow. Talking amongst themselves. The restaurant was only 30% capacity, yet the food took so long, even the water took long. Staff was mingling instead of tending to the customers. What bothered me the most is the ignorance of the wait staff.

Food was 5/10. We ordered the sizzling platter, came out NOT sizzling but slightly warm at best. Quality is 5/10 The food looked unappetizing.

WILL NOT BE BACK. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. ITS NOT AT PAR TO DISNEY QUALITY FOR SURE. This is a waste of such a good spot for another restaurant. CHANGE THIS LOCATION TO CHILLIS. The long line up might give you the impression that the food & experience do dine here is worth it, let me tell you that it is not.

They had a few vegetarian options which was nice. They had one person making table side guacamole and the table next to us were already well through their entrees by the time she got to them. Our server was triple sat at once which is not a cool thing to do to the server. Part of our order was forgotten and the kitchen seemed to be backed up as well. I think they were just short staffed and there were too many tables to handle. I ordered vegetarian fajitas which were very flavorful but were swimming in oil. Enchiladas and kids meals were good. 🌱

Usually this place is a staple of our theme park trips, but we were severely let down this most recent experience. Our table had to wait 10 minutes for straws, was not given the green salsa when we ordered the chips and salsa, and then we were given wet, cold tortillas when served fajitas. Genuinely it wouldn’t surprise me if they were old from someone’s table considering the entire container had two tortillas when served to us. For $30 per person, the quality going down hill each time we visit is disappointing to see and making this place too overpriced. Black Tap it is for us next trip.

When trying to eat at or near Disney just be prepared for long lines and expensive options. The food at tortilla Joe's is decent. It's like any restaurant where you go in and tell them what you want one thing at a time but just not as fresh and delicious as some of the more name brand options. The atmosphere feels a little rushed and most of the tables are taken so you'll probably have to take your food to go. All that being said I gave it four stars because we were able to get in reasonably quick, it's got decent prices compared to a lot of the other areas, and it's pretty decent Mexican food.

The tacos had no seasoning or favor. Almost like the meat was sitting out as well.

I've eaten here many times before and have always received quality food and service. Today the wait for our order took much longer than usual, and the food was not served hot, only just warm. The quality was very good and the people were friendly and helpful. I had the Tortilla Soup and the Carne Asada Street Tacos. Both were very good, just merely warm, which was a little disappointing. Today seemed to be an exception for what I usually receive here, which is hot and fresh food served quickly. I will return, and I would recommend this place to others looking for a good Mexican restaurant while in the area.

The waitress was nice and said they forgot our order she said she was sorry they lost our tag. Then the manager came 2 minutes later and made an excuse telling us we had 4 people so that's the reason why our order took so long ( it takes longer to make 4 plates then 2). Horrible excuse. Maybe they milled the flower for my kids pancakes.... it took that long.

The food was meh, nothing to write home about. We tried the chili rellano (not great), beef enchilada (decent) carne asada (meh), pork burrito (meh). I wouldn't go back.
