The food here is on point! My family says they have the best fries in LA. A little on the pricier side, but you can get a discount with a member ship to the Arbouretum. I only take down one star on the atmosphere because occasionally, peacocks come to try to steal food from you while eating outside.

Outdoor tables & chairs could use a good scrub. Let's help out the water shortage by raising the cost of plastic water bottles and providing free water for refillable bottles.
Perhaps create a LAUSD art contest for reusable bottles which could be purchased only through the Arboretum.

The Peacock Cafe was a great way to end the day. We had talked about coming here for lunch, and after walking around all day in blistering weather, it was quite the refreshing experience to enter a cool, clean building that had a nice calm atmosphere. Did I mention working A/C? They had a nice simple selection of salads, sandwiches, and other bistro/cafe staples. I got the Baldwin Grilled Cheese that was actually really tasty and filling. I highly recommend stopping here to recharge.

The Peacock Cafe has a beautiful view of the Arboretum and features indoor and outdoor seating.

You’ll be sure to see some Peacocks there! We had fun trying to take pics of them and they would walk and turn around. You’d have to wait for them to turn facing you.

They have breakfast and lunch items such as Breakfast burritos, French toast, yogurt parfait, sandwiches, salads, hamburger/cheeseburger with fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, iced coffee and more. Some items are in their grab & go packaged refrigerated section.

We tried their breakfast burritos, cheeseburger with fries and iced coffee. The breakfast burrito is tasty and filling. I would have liked more than one small green salsa. They didn’t haven’t any more available. I couldn’t believe it! Most places give you multiple salsas. The cheeseburger with fries was yummy. The customer service could have been friendlier.

You can eat in their lovely indoor or outdoor dining areas. Or bring a blanket, grab some food and have a picnic.

We go to the Arboretum practically every day to walk and always enjoy sitting outside at the Peacock Cafe for lunch or a snack and beverage. The food is good, the staff are exceptional and, except for the Peacocks yelling, very quiet and relaxing. We so appreciate the P. Cafe and hope it never leaves the Arboretum.

The best feature of coming here is the beautiful surroundings with the large glass windows.

The menu items made in the kitchen are available until 3:00 pm, after that only the refrigerated salads, sandwiches etc. are available. I recommend that you come before 3:00 in order to have a full selection. It's overpriced for what you get, but you are supporting the Arboretum.

There are a lot of tables and chairs outside where you can eat and enjoy the surroundings; unfortunately the peacocks may come up and try to get your food, which is what has happened to me in the past.
So I usually eat inside.

Nice selection of food, and it was tasty. Pleasant ambiance. But servers were rude. They took someone else's order while I was still placing mine. And I had to practically beg to get a tray to carry my items out to the patio.

04.10.24 My second time at LA County Arboretum and it's just absolutely beautiful place to visit. The Peacock Cafe is a perfect place to take a break. I had the burger and fries lunch - so yummy! I think this cafe is a great addition to the arboretum because of the very good quality and taste of food. Good enough on the number of selection to choose from. The staff are welcoming and provide pretty good service.

I'm not sure if the two peacocks that graze the cafe know that they are considered to be permanent live entertainment for cafe goers. They sure make the cafe a pretty good place to hang out and they do put on pretty good show.

LA County Arboretum is a must visit - I suggest calling first to find out best time of year to visit. It's mating season for peacocks so you'll see a pretty good show with males doing their best to attract the female peacocks.

There is a tram to tour the arboretum. I highly recommend paying for the tram to see the whole place first as there's pretty good information about the park.

I LOVE this sweet little cafe! I'm thinking about buying a membership at The L.A. Arboretum just SO I can come here for lunch or coffee whenever I want! The place is small; the menu is limited, but for me, it's all about the views! And oh, does this place have THE VIEWS!! It's also got WiFi if you need it, and A/C - which we definitely need in the Summer & Fall!

I do MISS the former "Self-Serve" bar with extra mayo, mustard, plasticware, etc. I was chagrined to have bought a sandwich, taken it outside to a table, then having to wait in line (AGAIN) just to obtain these things my sandwich needed. But I've had lunch off their grill before, and it was always delish!

I as glad to see they've re-opened the inside for dining, as we'll all be needing that as soon as it gets hot.
