Casual mainstay serving traditional Mexican food in a rustic setting with a full bar & a patio.
I recently checked out Don Ricardo’s for the first time, and I was a bit skeptical given its location in a mostly suburban area. However, it turned out to be a great find. The vibe inside was really nice, with old Spanish decor and solid Mexican music. The bar was really inviting and had plenty of TV’s and space.
The prices were a bit high, but the food was solid. I loved the cheese enchilada, though the ground beef taco tasted a bit like del taco . The rice and beans were delicious.
My sister ordered the shrimp à la Diabla, which was pretty spicy and came with tasty cilantro rice. They also had complimentary salsa, chips, and a good bean dip. Overall, I’d come back to Don!

Ordered to go for lunch. The food has a great flavor. I do wish they had a special salad dressing other than just the norms.
We then went back for dinner and it was delicious. I had the number 11 and we also had Don Ricardo’s burrito. Both were absolutely amazing so much food. I had to save it till the next day and even reheating it the next day the food tasted very very good I would absolutely be going back and would recommend

They couldn't find our reservation we made 2 weeks ago, but we finally got seated. Food was not the greatest, ordered caldo de res it was full of meat and plenty of veggies mostly potatoes no corn and they took a while to bring the rice and forever to bring tortillas. I had to keep asking for lemon. No cilantro or chopped onions to add, and asked if they could add more broth and was turned down, in all everyone was not really satisfied with service and food, will not ever coming or recommending this place. Waiters are morons and should be fired, not one female waitress there. Maybe that's the problem

I recently went there for lunch with some coworkers. I ordered the Relleno Burrito and it came on a sizzling skillet like fajitas! The burrito was excellent! It was a big ole burrito and I couldn't finish it. My dining partners were all very pleased with their lunches as well, they had the tacos carbon, tostada, and combo with enchilada and a hard shell taco. Everyone was very pleased with the food and the service. Oh and the chips, salsa and bean dip (a nice original idea) were really good too. We will be back!

The bar was jumpin', and I can see why, the drinks were good - and strong. Strong as you could want. You're gettin' your money's worth there. The chicken mole was not good. A nice piece of chicken, drier than dust. Oh, the salsa, thin and watery, really bad. Go for the drinks; you're good. Not anything else.

I noticed the change from Pacos to Don Ricardo's Bar & Grill, and I really had high hopes for something fresh and new compared to Pacos. Unfortunately, We were not impressed as it felt like we had just walked back into the old Pacos and not a new refreshed Don Ricardo's. Even the inside hasn't changed...still the same look as Pacos.
When we walked in, the hostess was nowhere to be found. We waited a short time, and a small 2-3 year old lone child walked up to us from a table around the corner from the hosting station. At first we thought it was a customers child but the hostess came running around the corner to get the child and sent her back to the empty table she came from.(the hostess was baby sitting someone's child come to find out) Kid could have went out the front door with no adult if she had wanted to. Very weird situation that had me a bit worried for the kid's safety.
The hostess then sat us at a table that had about the most stickiest table top I've ever felt before. Everything that was sat down on the table, stuck to the table, my silverware stuck, my glass stuck, the plates stuck...it was quite gross, to be honest.
Our food came, and it felt just like Pacos all over again... nothing new, no flare, nothing. We were a bit let down and were hoping for something a bit different compared to Pacos. We assumed it would be different, and we shouldn't have assumed. I avoided the online reviews as they always set my mood when trying out a new place. I like a fresh new experience.
The bar had the usual Pacos drinkers, which didn't change much either. The margarita was too strong, my michelada was basic and my kids lemonade was horrible. We ordered the drinks from our table.
Unfortunately, during our dinner, we were also joined by two pesky 🪰 flies. They would not leave us alone either. It was very annoying.
The service was good and abundant... There was an employee walking around and looking at people(He was not the manager). It was a bit creepy, but he seemed harmless. There were a ton of employees, and we were the only ones there. A couple of other tables filled in, but we finished up and left. Supposedly, it was to get busier later, they said.
I asked for the manager and told him what we thought about our visit, and he told us they were slowly but surely working on sanding the tables and that he was sorry about the flies. He was very polite and honest and explained that they were trying to work out the kinks.
Unfortunately, the damage was done, and we most likely won't be returning.
I hope they figure things out, this could be a gem of a place with some good heart put into it.

After watching the sound of freedom with some friends, we decided to go have some lunch the only place open on the Fourth of July for Mexican food was Don Ricardo‘s what a blast of the past. I remember when they were in the mall their huevos rancheros were my absolute favorite, considering they don’t serve lunch after 2 PM. I was unable to order that but they did have taco Tuesday so we got shredded beef Syria Shredded chicken, crispy and soft tacos. We also got some chicken wings. The bean dip and the salsa were absolutely amazing and the chips we had the best service from Chris. We got some margaritas and a Jamaica margarita had a nice little tang to it what a unexpected little treat, the service is great the location was clean and like I said we had the best service from Chris 10 out of 10 would totally recommend.

We ordered 3 entrees, chicken fajitas, chicken chimichanga, vegan burrito. Also given chips and salsa..yum. But, my vegan burrito was made with refried beans, was looking forward to my frioles de la olla(whole beans), also there were no sliced avacados..ugh..really wanted them. Chef should review menu and how the burrito is supposed to be made. Because it was delivery I wasn't gonna drive back for the error. Bummer burrito.
If your vegan make sure you speak up and tell them you want whole beans!

The lunch prices have gone up a dollar across the board, and that's ok withe me because I understand everything is more expensive these days. I came in and ordered the same thing I have in the past - a chile relleno lunch. It was not cooked through and the server (who I will not mention) told me that it was because the thickness of the chili could not be determined. He offered to replace it and I thanked him for his offer. The next chili relleno was exactly the same - raw again. I paid my bill, tipped him, and left. Maybe that's why the place is empty. Good luck, Don Ricardo's

The vegan tacos are very good. The super spicy red salsa is the best!!! I can't give this place 5 stars because it takes a long time for someone to notice you're waiting to be seated or place a to-go order (even with two employees at the bar that see you waiting).

This was the famous and amazing PACO'S until recently. The menu claims it's "more authentic Mexican" but the dishes seem fairly identical. If anything the guacamole and taquitos were less Mexican than before, but still delicious. The only difference seems to be a vast increase in price. We used to go here about 4-5 times a year. Now we'll cut that in half, at least, simply because they're too expensive. Pacos wasn't cheap, by any stretch, but when it's $130 for a family of 4, pre-tip & tax, and we don't drink anything other than tap water, this isn't reasonable for many families. The complimentary chips are great. The food is good. If you don't mind paying a premium for above average quality food, this is a good spot. I miss Pacos. When we went to Paco's you'd usually have a manager or mucky-muck come check on you to make sure everyone was happy. That's never happened since it became Don Ricardo's. They also got rid of the yummy mints at the front desk. Little things, sure, but they show the new owners care more about profit than running a family friendly restaurant that values its customers, not just their wallets.

Food is consistently excellent quality, well-prepared, not too spicy or salty. We've eaten in many times, and ordered catering for a large party. The dishes were perfectly cooked, well-presented, and hot on delivery, which was on time. My special favorites are the chicken and spinach enchiladas, and the chiles rellenos are excellent as well. Service is usually quick, and always cheerful. Love this place!!!

We were in Duarte and eas looking for Mexican food for a late lunch. Lunch time was over
We both decided on their Don Ricardo's burritos. I had the Chicken and honey had their Carne asada. Both burritos were lukewarm.
The chips, sausa and bean dip was good
I will not come back. Maybe today was a bad day. For the amount I paid for the burrito, I expect the food to be hot not lukewarm.
Me personally I would not recommend this place.

I want to do 1 star because the music is too loud. I asked 2 elderly ladies outside and both said yes, it was a bit loud.
The father and son waiters were terrific. The bean dip was delish! the lunch carnitas burrito a bit dry. I understand the owner likes the music this loud and in my opinion it’s too loud. So I won’t be back, nor my friends. It’s unfortunate. Music is suppose to be subtle in the background imo, not make me yell to converse. Oh well…..

8/12 Saturday early evening, my first visit here. The bean dip is wonderful and flavorful! Keep that stuff coming! However, my husbands shrimp tostada was way too salty. And do not order the Posole Verde. It must be made out of frozen chicken pieces, because mine was full of chicken grit floating all through it. The broth was flavorless, tasted like dry chicken chunks with hominy dowsed in water. I did not eat it and told the waitress it wasn't very good at all. She did not offer to bring me something else or even to remove it from my bill. So I fished the chicken and hominy out of the watery liquid and took it home in a container to make a proper bowl of posole with it. I hope my next visit goes better. We did not order drinks, just had water and the bill was still $41.00 before the tip.

Came in for early dinner, service was good, drinks were delicious. Food was underwhelming. Chile Verde was good, rice was bland and beans tasted like out of the can. Carnitas crispy taco on the other hand was outstanding meat was juicy and tender. Side note if you want sour cream in the burrito tell them to put it inside. Otherwise you get it on top.

Name changed from Paco's to Don Ricardo's, but not much else. Prices went up a dollar or two on most items, probably to pay for their live music ( the two man group). Most of the same staff, which was nice. Good service, chips, salsa & been dip. Will definitely come come back. Their burritos could serve two normal people or o e fat guy like me. Took four people and got out of there for about $90 including tip. No alcoholic drinks.
FYI - They have a Sunday bruch with bottomless mimosas or Bloody Mary's for 24.95.
Also have three Vegan dishes listed on their menu. Kudos to them for that (having a vegan in the party).

My husband and I have been here two times. The food was good but not enough to give this place a third try. First time, we were seated right away, and although the service was great, we waited too long for our food. A party of four came in after us. They got their food well before we did. Second time, my husband ordered enchiladas, which were good. The shrimp tacos which were good but two tortillas for four small shrimp were not worth ordering. Both times, the beer was closer to room temperature than it was cold.

HORRIBLE SERVICE NEVER AGAIN! We sat at our table for an HOUR waiting on a appetizer and two kids meals. We will not be back.
FYI!! I thought! Let me talk to the owner and try to give the restaurant a 2nd chance🤔. I spoke to the Owner who (come the find out was sitting in a booth in front of me) literally his wife and two boys came in after us, I watched him go to the kitchen and get his family food all while my family (who had already been there for 30mins still waiting patiently for our appetizer and 2 kids meals.) In the End…… The Owner had no empathy completely did not care. Very Dissatisfied, and disappointed!
NEGATIVE stars if I could give them

This is definitely not paci's anymore, don't get me wrong my family liked this place when it was Paco's, but we can't get enough of it now that it is Don Ricardo's. The food is not the same as it was before but a definite step up. You can tell that they care about both the presentation and the taste, not one or the other. A lot of the staff in front are still the same and seem to also be happy with the changes.

Took a long time lto get food. Service was okay I guess. My friends bacon was burnt in the middle and really fatty on the ends and the eggs were not seasoned at all. . My tostata salad was not worth the price at all. It's just a lot of lettuce with small bit of beans at the bottom. I didn't get to eat it because they were supposed to bring salad dressing and that took another 10 minutes to get so I was just sitting and waiting. 3 ice teas and 2 serving of chips was all I ate. I paid for the food but we will never come back.
