The atmosphere and decor are awesome, and the service was outstanding. Plenty of dining space inside and in their covered patio, and the bar is cool. Food was prepared and served very fast the presentation was beautiful. Salsa and guacamole were good an tradtionally prepared. Flavors in the main dishes were a bit lacking for me - the tomato sauce for my steak ranchero was good but primarily a mild tomato sauce. Beans were lacking flavor (maybe because I asked for no cheese and that's where the flavor is) and quite runny. Shredded beef inside the tacquitos was tasty. Would have liked fresh tortillas rather than pre-packaged ones. Overall it was a decent lunch and I'd recommend the place for the service and decor alone.

A party for 25 plus people was served for one only waitress. She did a great job, but should be better with at least one more. Personnel cleaning tables took food and drinks not finished yet. Probably they are in a rush. Food is ok but not great. Atmosphere was good with live music.

I don't know -- maybe it was just us when we visited (a sleepy Monday after the lunch rush hour), but the server or the kitchen got a couple of the orders for our party of 9 incorrect, despite coming back after taking the orders to verify each of our orders. My soft tacos were on the mushy side, the enchilada sauce was somewhat sweet, and the rice (normally a highlight for me at Mexican restaurants) was mushy. The inside was also rather dim. Again, maybe it was just me or the particular time of day, but just trying to call it as I experienced it.

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Arcadia. Great food, drinks and service (Chuy is the best who we followed from Zapata Vive). We have been coming here for over a decade and I recommend it to friends, family and co-workers. This place is also great for large groups and banquets as we held our engagement party there in 2016. I love their chicken mole, coctel de camaron, ceviche, the list goes on. Oh and don't forget their churros and deep fried ice cream. They also have a great brunch! You won't be disappointed.

This is a review from a private event that occurred on Sat 8/10. We hosted a 50th birthday party here for my dad. We reserved the entire bar seating area plus the outside patio for around 85 people. My family is very known to this restaurant, including the manager. We have hosted multiple parties here with zero problems at all. We love the food and workers here. This review is not about the service or the food, as the servers provided great service including the bartender Chuy. This is strictly about how the manager handled the unfortunate situation that resulted in the shutdown of my dad's party before the contracted time of 11pm. First off, the restaurant decided to hired armed security. Not sure if it was because of the amount of people at the party. There was also another party going on at the other side of the restaurant. Totally understandable, however it was the security guards that caused all the problems. Like I said before, my family has hosted multiple parties here WITHOUT any security and there has never been a problem. They were hovering only our party inside the restaurant, rather than staying put outside by the entrance. The security, specifically the head one with the gun, continually harassed our guests throughout the entire night, which included putting his hands on one of my cousin's thinking she was not party of the party even though we had previously told them that everyone in the bar area and patio are part of the party. They also racially profiled my cousin's husband also thinking he was not part of the party even though my dad told him he was. The head security was rude, unprofessional, and confrontational, even threatening to fight my dad and other male guests. He even had his hand on his GUN. The manager did absolutely nothing to mellow out the situation. He let security call Arcadia PD, and even when they got there did not see the point of being there and left shortly after. They were not the ones who shutdown the party, the security did by yelling at everyone to get out, which the manager allowed. Our family was NOT acting belligerent or out of hand. Most were dancing on the dance floor. Even the servers and bartender were confused on what was happening and were even apologizing to US for how everything was handled. It is so unfortunate how this all played out because we love this restaurant and have supported this place since they opened. We wish the manager handled the situation differently by telling the security to stand down. He knew our family! I hope the owners come forward and apologize to my dad because we would like to keep coming here, but won't if there is no action taken. His 50th birthday party was ruined because of these security guards. Villa Catrina, I hope you make this right.

Villa Catrina 251 N Santa Anita Ave, Arcadia, CA 91006 I am writing this review in reference to a recent dine in experience. This establishment provides a menu with no nutritional facts and does not have this information readily available to consumers upon request. Their website villacatrina.com is also lacking nutritional information facts and general information pertaining to ingredients and dietary restrictions. Their menu had indirect information regarding menu items and their ingredients. Based on food allergy and dietary needs, this information should be readily available. When placing an order at Villa Catrina, there is no disclosure for use of animal products, for example, rice and beans, are they vegetarian or made with chicken or beef stock or pig fat(Manteca). It is for these reasons that I am giving one star, with respects to my recent visit to this establishment, I have credible concerns, respectfully.

Great food amazing service shout out to the bartender

My family celebrated my father s 50th birthday at Villa Catrina this past Saturday. We booked the entire bar area and outside patio area for the celebration. The owner/manager hired security guards for that night, which is totally fine. However, they were hovering over our guests the entire time, standing in the doorway, glaring at our family. We made it extremely clear that everyone in the patio area was part of the party. First, one security guard grabbed my cousin from behind without even speaking to her, & tried escorting her out. She explained that she is part of the party. Then later that night, by the SAME security guard, another member of my family was confronted & grabbed, for no reason! The security guard assumed he wasn t apart of the party we strongly believe he was racially profiled. There was no reason the security had to physically touch my family. There was no reason for them to be hovering the entry way. They called Arcadia PD, for supposed back up. But when they arrived, they were confused as to why they were called. The police explained we were able to stay there until 11pm, which is what we agreed on in the contract, as they could see we did not cause any havoc as the security guards stated we did. But security did not allow it. We were RUSHED and PHYSICALLY PUSHED out of the restaurant. Management failed to protect us. We have been going to this restaurant for YEARS. We had many many birthday celebrations there, but sadly we cannot return until something is done. The servers are amazing, they were the ones that made the night pleasant. However, the manager failed to take control of the situation, but instead let their security intimidate and physically ASSULT my family. Once we exited the restaurant, security continued to FOLLOW us out to the parking lot, challenging to fight our male guests. One security guard, in his 60s with brown to gray hair was challenging to fight my dad & other family members while having his hand on his GUN. There was no reason for the security to be armed & absolutely no reason for them to be threatening to fight us. Those men were on a serious power trip. The same security guard also told my godfather that he was apart of a gang, which is completely inappropriate & showed us just how unprofessional and dangerous this ARMED security was! Fortunately, my family was able to remove themselves from the situation. I still cannot fathom the inappropriate behavior displayed by the security guards that were hired & how Villa Catrina s management handled the situation. No call, no apologies were made. Lots of loyal customers will be lost unfortunately.

I will never visit this venue again. This establishment is racist and treated SOME of my family in the utmost disrespectful way. They harassed my family all night. They did not allow us to enter the restaurant even though they saw us sitting in the patio which was reserved for this party, forced us close our tabs after one drink, and then called the police at 10pm when we reserved this place till 11pm.

Love it here! Taco Tuesday is the best deal. Crispy Chicken Taco or 2 Street Tacos with rice, beans, and your choice of a beer or margarita for $12. Cant beat it! Friendly and attentive staff. Full menu also great, and love their margaritas.

So today Mothers Day 2024 6 people and our bill was a total of 250.00 with tip. The food was cold not warm but cold. Most of us had rice, beans and enchiladas I did tell an employee and as we were leaving my husband told another employee. For 250.00 the food should be warmed. A very disappointing Mothers Day the employees that took care of us were great. Thank you for a great breakfast on Mothers Day 2022 you guys always do a great job, been coming here for 4 or 5 years now on MothersDay. May the Lord bless you and your families always Amen

Sunday buffet brunch was absolutely delicious. A very nice assortment of authentic Mexican food. The menudo was clean and very tasty with handmade corn tortillas. There was a very nice assortment of dessert and breakfast dishes, including an omlette station. Best part is that the Mariachi band played great music as they roamed the restaurant. Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian options such as chile relleno, rice and beans, omlettes, and cheese enchiladas, to name a few. A vegetarian can enjoy many of the dishes served.

Another Saturday night and another solo dinner. I had a hankering for chicken Parmesan I actually thought this place was Italian ha! I also needed a place that was showing the game I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Although they were showing the Laker game, they had a private party at the front of the restaurant. They walked me back to another room that also had TV s. Extensive menu with the regulars. However they had Birria. If you never had it, you just don t know. Real Birria is flavorful, tender, and savory. Accompanied with R&B but equally yummy. Great service and tv access.

First visit here with friend. Some breakfast. Others lunch. Very roomy for lRge groups, the food was excellent, good portions, and priced well. The host, maybe the owner or manager was very cordial and aimed to please. Our group meets once a month and have already decided to return here because the food was great. My husband enjoyed his posole. Another had their wonderful, filling salad. Dont remember which, but looked delicious and he concurred. Off the Ala Carter menu I wanted to try their Chile relleno and beef caldo. Both were very satisfying and delicious. Thank you! Well see you next month. Sorry I didnt take any pictures, I got distracted enjoying my meal. Parking: Parking is available in rear. None in front at the time we were there. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to climb. Good access.

I made an email reservation as suggested by the website. Upon arrival, the hostess had nothing saved for us and would not seat us inside. Luckily, there was a small table on the patio still open that we could use. The food was excellent however, and the wait staff was very good.

This place has the best tacos in town. The environment is very nice and friendly staff. If you are in Arcadia come eat here. Also I really love their fish tacos and for dessert, their Chimi Cheesecake. Amazing.

I have been to Villa Catrina a few times but was not aware of the large banquet rooms in the back. This is a great location for medium sized gatherings. The service was pleasant. The food was served as a buffet and offered good choices to accommodate the group. Cheese enchiladas, chicken fajitas, pork, rice, beans, fruit and churros.

We stopped in here at the last minute coming in from out of town. Food was good, fresh and they were super hospitable.

Great happy hour and lunch at this place. Friendly atmosphere and the bar is not. The food is good and the service is quick. Parking is a little slim but street is always available as an option and the area is relatively safe.

We had the Buffett and was delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful and they have good variety of adult beverages. There also is a banquet room for private parties

Found this gem on Google Maps looking for Mexican food. It was incredible. The Carne Asada tacos were on point. My dad had the Lengua, he said it was really good. Cool vibe, great customer service.

This restaurant was a happy surprise while driving through the area on the way home. We were looking for a late breakfast, and saw the open sign while driving past. Walked in and found they were serving a brunch buffet. We elected to try it, and glad we did. This was hands down the best brunch buffet we have ever had. Service was great and food was amazing. Wish we lived in the area, as we would be there regularly.

We came in with roughly 50 people unannounced and were granted Superior service on a short staff and the food was excellent Parking: Plenty of parking in the rear

The food is delicious and tasty. I enjoy watching the Dodger game with my dinner on the tv instead of my phone. The servers are polite and attentive
