Cute place and nice little vibe. Been to many authentic ramen places but this place was just disgusting. The miso ramen had a fishy & sweet taste.. Should’ve walked out as soon as I smelled that weird odor. The service was okay and the noodles were fine but I would rather eat a cup of noodles with sriracha and cayenne then to come here again. Not sure if this is some other type of fusion restaurant then just japanese because there was no steak on the menu and it featured a lot of curry..?

When I first walked in i was warmly greeted by the staff. We a party of two were sat instantly.

Nice neutral earth tones and wood accents throughout. Several sake options including sakura!

They even have dragon ball soda, i chose the melon (has black goku super saiyin rose on it )
It was soooooo tasty!

Everything on the menu looks and smells amazing, however, I decided on the tan tan ramen;

The visual presentation was stellar and the flavor was insanely good. The aroma awakened my senses and was tantalizing to my tastebuds

The noodles had perfect texture and the ajitama egg was marinated and cooked to perfection .

The bok choy and nori were not soggy and had soaked up all this amazing flavor.

I also ate the soft shell crab… omg . So creamy soft and full of flavor, even a nice dipping sauce ,though not needed ,was a welcomed addition. possibly a dashi ??? Not certain but yummmy )

Had a pleasebt chat with jackie, she checked on us andwas very attentive sweet and professional.

Fina welcomed and sat us, checked on us and tended to our drinks and needs. She had a nice smile and was very pleasent.

Dashiwas has
Spacious yet intimate seating ,they even show anime! They had a studio ghibli flick playing which was coool.

Lively yet relaxed atmosphere , feels like a place where i could be a regular and be recognized by name!

I travel allll ove the u.s trying restraunts and ramen specifically; i am VERY picky and i cook and grill at home / wow wow wow

Everything was fantastic and i will 10/10 be back and cant recommend enough!!!!

God bless this shop!

Every time we come here we’re greeted by great customer service and food. The ramen is to die for and has quickly become my favorite ramen in the SGV. I recommend the mi-so-hot ramen combo with the veggie curry, it’s super delicious. The summer menu has really good cold noodle options, I recommend the kimchi cold noodle! They make the broth slushy so the flavor doesn’t get watered down!! If you’re looking for great food, great service, and great vibes this is the place for you!!

We went there about a month after its soft opening. The ramen is very tasty. We tried the "black" and "red" ramen. The taste is superior to the red and black dishes at Kopan Ramen. The 2 pork shoulder slices are grilled/charred at dashiwa compared to boiled at kopan. Dashiwa black is $11.25 vs $12.95 at kopan. Kopan includes ingredients that Dashiwa doesn't, like corn and bamboo shoots. Corn I don't miss. The layer of black garlic oil on top of dashiwa black really helps win this competition.

Update on 2022-10-25. Tonkotsu Black is at $13.95 and it's still a relatively good deal, while tasting better when compared to the tonkotsu at Kopan, Daikokuya, and the recently opened Ramen King Keisuke in Monterey Park.

Juicy dark meat chicken with a few tempura battered onion rings that tasted good with beer. Overall, great place to visit and enjoy the wonderful J-Pop and K-pop music playing in the background. Thanks for making my hour dining experience very Happy. Ill be going back for the chicken cutlet cury next time.

Visited here on a quiet Tuesday Halloween night around 7 PM. To my surprise, the place was almost empty - just three other tables were occupied. The setting? A simple, unassuming spot nestled in a plaza with plenty of parking, which was a big plus.

The menu, accessible via QR code, was refreshingly straightforward. My family and I decided on the black garlic tonkatsu ramen. When it arrived, it was a bowl of savory goodness. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were plentiful, and the toppings were generous. While it might not top my list of the best ramen ever, it was very satisfying, especially given its reasonable price.

Service was good considering there was only one server, which made sense given the slow evening. The ambience was very relaxed and chill, perfect for a casual dinner out.

While there’s no burning desire for a repeat visit, I would definitely consider coming back if I was in the area and in the mood for some solid ramen. It’s a recommendable spot for anyone looking for a decent ramen experience without any fuss.

Dashiwa Ramen - A Gastronomic Delight!

I recently dined at Dashiwa Ramen, and I must say it was an exceptional culinary experience. This cozy little eatery nestled in the heart of Arcadia offers a wide array of Japanese delicacies, and I was particularly impressed with their beef curry udon, chicken cutlets curry, beef curry rice, and chicken karaage.

Let's start with the beef curry udon. The combination of tender beef and flavorful curry sauce was simply divine. The udon noodles were cooked to perfection, providing a delightful chewy texture. The curry itself was rich, aromatic, and packed with just the right amount of spices. The beef was incredibly tender and succulent, adding a delightful meaty element to the dish. It was a harmonious blend of flavors that left me craving for more.

Next up, the chicken cutlets curry. The chicken cutlets were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, providing a delightful contrast of textures. The curry sauce was velvety and full-bodied, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness. Each bite was a heavenly combination of tender chicken and the delectable curry. It was a true comfort food experience that left me thoroughly satisfied.

Moving on to the beef curry rice, I was amazed by the generous portion of tender beef served on a bed of fluffy rice, all smothered in the flavorful curry sauce. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the curry sauce added a delightful kick of flavor to the dish. The rice acted as the perfect base, absorbing all the delicious flavors and adding a comforting element to the meal. It was a hearty and fulfilling dish that left me feeling content.

Lastly, the chicken karaage was a delightful appetizer that showcased the skill of the chef. The chicken pieces were perfectly fried to a crispy golden brown, while the meat inside remained moist and flavorful. The accompanying dipping sauce added a tangy and savory dimension to the dish, enhancing the overall experience. It was a perfect balance of textures and flavors that left me wanting more.

In addition to the remarkable food, the service at Dashiwa Ramen was impeccable. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The cozy ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall dining experience, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal or a gathering with friends and family.

In conclusion, Dashiwa Ramen surpassed my expectations with their delectable offerings. The beef curry udon, chicken cutlets curry, beef curry rice, and chicken karaage were all outstanding in terms of taste, presentation, and quality. If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine, I highly recommend paying a visit to Dashiwa Ramen. It's a culinary gem that will undoubtedly leave you with a memorable dining experience.

Wait staff there could not be less helpful. I ordered ramen with side items for take-out. When I arrived, wait staff present did not bother to greet me and inquire if I was dinning-in or picking-up. I initiated the conversation and announced that I was picking up my order and gave them my name. They looked at the only semi-packed take-out order laying on the table to verify the name, then began talking amongst themselves. I then started giving them items on my order to clarify the order, and both wait staff still do not engage customer to review the order. They started packing up the "only" take-out order visible on the table and handed the order to me....and said nothing in the process. Would you be willing to patron an establishment where the wait staff think nothing of their customer to bother greeting and engaging the customer?
Aside from the poor experience with wait staff, the ramen was okay, although not exceptional. I certainly have tasted better ramen in the south bay and OC area.

I decided to try their Tonkotsu Black, with black garlic oil, and it's really delicious too. But the soup does get a little heavy and thick to drink. If you want to drink the broth too, then the original Tonkotsu is the safer bet.

Their beef bowl (gyudon bowl) is terrific too. Really can't go wrong with the items on their menu here.

January 2022 - Party of 3 on a Friday around 6pm. No wait!

Food/Pricing - The broth is always solid here! My usual is the Tonkotsu Red ($13.50) and recently the Mazesoba ($12.95). I get the Red with the second level spicy, mostly for the taste as it isn't spicy at all to me. On this recent visit, we also ordered Chicken Karaage ($7) which was nice and crispy! I also tried the Brown Sugar Cold Brew ($3.25) and I loved it!!

Service/Ambiance - The place is small so it's easy to flag someone down if you need anything, however, service has been pretty everytime I've visited so far!

The overwhelming 5 star reviews don’t lie. This ramen place is fantastic. If you are getting the Tonkotsu lunch special make sure to specify which kind you want: original, black, or red. The red had a great spice level to it and you can make it super hot if you choose. The hibiscus tea was delicious and the karage chicken did not disappoint. One disappointing thing is they wouldn’t separate our check for the 4 of us at the table but the staff was very nice.

Ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen. Noodles have the right texture, broth flavor was on spot.
Portion is smaller than most.
Price is alright, $13.51 with tax

From hundreds of ramen places I've tried all over the world, this gotta be on the top 3 "Most Oily ramen". This broth is so oily that I gave up on the soup after halfway. I extracted at least a full table spoon of oil (pork lard) out of the remaining soup. That means I've already intake that much oil!! yikes =(
The pork slices taste authentic, but sadly, they are dominated by fat. Maybe 2:1

Making tasty ramen is an art, caring for customers' well-being is as important.

Closed for dining in, only pick ups or deliveries. The quality of the food is very good, well packed. Once on a while the soup is very salty which was the reason for the 4 stars.

I order from this place online, and every time I do, I enjoy it very much. Their ramen is amazing. All of my food comes in warm and at perfect temperature. They have many selections of ramen and many other types of food besides ramen too. All their food taste amazing and I will continue to buy from here

AMAZING service, staff, and food.
One of the delivery drivers took off with our food, and the Dashiwa staff was kind enough to make a report to the ordering app for us.
Food was really good, and well prepared. Try it if you can!

I've ordered takeaway from here several times. The staff is always great, the food is amazing, and we've never found a dish we didn't like. 5 stars, I'm writing this literally as I am about to order more.

I got the hwe dup bap because I was craving one and this was the only place I could find that had it available. I’m Korean and have had it many times, and this is the most disappointing dish I’ve ever had. It was the smallest thing I’ve ever seen, made with the fewest ingredients I’ve ever seen. For $14 it should be much bigger or come with more add-ins. This should be a side dish for sure and it should not be advertised as a real hwe dup bap. It’s a poor man’s version of it but ridiculously priced. I will never order from here again. What a rip-off.

AMAZING customer service!! They always check on you and make sure you have whatever you need to be comfortable. Also the brown sugar milk brew was amazingly delicious,, would recommend. They also have REALLY really tasty ramen and pork buns. This is always a go-to for date night and a good spot for family lunches/dinners!

Love this place. Take-out and dine in are both reliable and delicious! Tonkatsu red (spicy) and Miso are both awesome. Now open during the stay-at-home order for takeout which I was so excited about.

It would easy to pass by this place since the exterior is so unassuming but you would missing some really good ramen offerings at a value. The inside is very minimalistic, and clean. I had the Tues Special... it being Tuesday and all. Shoyu Ramen with Gyoza. The broth was fragrant and flavorful. Very attentive service. Noodles hold up along with all the ingredients. If you are in the area please do stop by. Will try the other specials soon enough.

Quality place to get ramen. Great service and reasonable prices. The tonkotsu ramen was great, the meat was tender and flavorful. Not the best noodles I've had at a ramen place but still very good. The food came out quickly and was piping hot.

Solid ramen. The noodle texture is on point. Tonkotsu is not overly salty like other places. We've had richer broth elsewhere, but still it was all very good. We had original tonkotsu, tonkotsu with black garlic, and a vegan miso ramen. The vegan broth was surprisingly rich. Kids liked the option to have chicken instead of chasu, which is more fatty than they are used to. Overall, good bowls and a family friendly experience.

Not much vegetarian options, we tried the vegan option, which was good with an add on chilly paste. I think the chilly paste could've been for free. The best dish was the mini veggie curry bowl with ginger......made my day.
