kai ramen was amazing before but the service has gone downhill and the atmosphere is so uncomfortable and dull. They put their own gratitude tip and it is ridiculously OVERPRICED!!!! %20 gratitude when they took over 10 minutes to bring out one of my members plate out AFTER everyone else received their plate. After the %20 tip they still demanded MORE tip when the service they did didn’t even deserve tip.

Great food and service. My one and only complaint is that the light fixture above my table was covered in a thick layer of dust. I was actually afraid dust balls would fall into the food, luckily it didn't happy. Just dust your restaurant and it would have been a 5/5 experience!

Absolutely loved my experience at Kai Ramen Arcadia! The ramen was amazing—smooth and flavorful with tender pork belly and a perfectly cooked egg. The Chashu Bowl was also a highlight, super tasty and left me impressed! Service was friendly and attentive, making the meal even better. And the Naruto-themed decor was a fantastic touch for a big fan like me. Highly recommend for any ramen and anime lovers!

This ramen place is located in Arcadia, the plaza of JJ Bakery with plenty of parking spaces. Nice and clean dining area, we were greeted and quickly seated. You can scan the QR code for menu, very efficient.

Our waitress is very friendly and kind, patiently introduced the menu since this was our first visit. We ordered a Tonkatsu Classic Ramen, Kai White, appetizers with soft shell crab, fried spicy chicken and fried calamari and two iced lemon tea.

A good bowl of ramen is a bowl of flavorful broth, not too salty. The ramen noodle is cooked well with perfect texture, love the char on the pork belly, it adds on some smoky flavor to the bowl. The garlic butter in Kai White definitely creates the buttery texture to the soup base and it is no doubt the award-winning ramen.

Very impressed by their appetizers, fresh, delicious with generous portions. For sure the other highlight of the meal.

High expectations that never even had the chance to be met! First time visiting this location. I dont often feel the pressures of racial profiling, being a Hispanic in southern California, but i felt the pressure today. We were seated outside while the restaurant was empty. We picked this place from Google, while visiting the area. Long story short, we waited 20 minutes and received no service. So our party of eight decided to get up and leave. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Kai ramen is nestled in a plaza with JJ bakery, phoenix boutique and other stores. The parking lot is shared with other business and can get busy during lunch hours.
It is a small store with beautiful graphics on the walls. Although there was only one server, she was attentive and friendly.
Scan a QR code for the menu and order with the server. Food came out quickly. We ordered the kai white ramen(which was labeled as award winning) and bomb ramen. The kai white ramen was flavorful and had a buttery-ish taste to the soup base. The noodles are thinner compared to the bomb ramen. The bomb ramen had thicker noodles and a lot of flavor from the minced pork. The oil and salt levels are adjustable. They have a variety of broth flavors to chose from including tonkatsu, chicken and shoyu.
The spicy tuna crispy rice was interesting, and the rice was really crispy. The pork chashu buns had thin slices of chashu topped with lots of spring salad, which makes it easier to bite through.
They also have a vegan soup option and rice bowls if youre not feeling ramen.

This place is decent. They have a hodgepodge of noodle dishes. The tsukemen is decent. They do everything here okay and that's it a knock. Staff friendly and accommodating. I've been here multiple times. If you have a noodle desire, this is a good place to go if you can't get to the place you'd rather go. I don't want to drive to Tsujita for tsukemen but I'll order it from Kai bc they're close and convenient. 6/10 would order again.

✨Anyone else slurp their noodles?✨ Our cravings for ramen certainly were satisfied at Kai Ramen, located in Arcadia, California and deep in the SGV. During the height of the pandemic, I found myself relying on @kairamenarcadia as my go-to for those delicious Japanese noodles in soup form. Then on my recent dine-in visit, I realized the quality and taste of the meals simply was the same🙌🏼

I was finally able to try their Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice after all these years and it did not disappoint! More happiness was activated with each bite🥰

We had: 🍣Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, 🍗Chicken Cutlet Bun (chicken katsu in steamed bun mixed with cabbage, slices of cucumber, served with spicy mayo), 🍜Kai White Ramen (salt base, skinny noodles, garlic butter, pork belly, flavored egg, scallions, crispy onion, kikurage), 🍜Maesoba Ramen (thick noodle, house special ground pork, scallions, mild soy based smoke flavor, imami fish powder, garlic, seaweed), and🧋Boba Ice Milk Tea

Just found this ramen restaurant in Arcadia, and it was such a great experience!
The soup here is incredibly flavorful, the ramen perfectly chewy, and the appetizers are absolutely delicious.
We ordered the Kai Red, Kai Yellow, Butter corn, and the Tsukemen dipping ramen.
The ramen ranges from $15~$18 and I love that there were so many options to choose from!
Service is great, and no long wait times for the food either!
Lunch specials are Mon-Friday 12-5pm for even more deals!

Kai Ramen's award-winning Kai White ramen truly lives up to the hype. The perfectly seasoned salt base broth is rich and flavorful, complementing the springy noodles and melt-in-your-mouth pork belly. I also got their Pork Chashu Buns, which are a must-try. The upside: the food is good and tasty.

The downside: the service is as poor as it gets. One of the two main dishes was served with the appetizer. The other main dish got there about ten minutes after the first. That means that the first main dish is cold before you even get to it. And I think it’s not too much to ask to serve both main dishes at the same time.
To cap it off, the second main dish sat ready on the counter for about five minutes because the only waiter was so busy just cashing off other people and seating more that she didn’t even seem to notice it.
Another minor remark: you have really beautiful bowls but serve (at least) your lemonade in plastic cups… maybe something to think about.

Broth for the White ramen is really good and garlicky. Pork was tender and had just the perfect amount of fat. Fried rice was flavorful and had a lot of meat. Gyoza was freshly made and cooked perfectly. Classic Mazesoba Ramen (No Soup) was also very flavorful and meaty with noodles that were firm and tender at the same time.

Service was fast and efficient, no waiting on a Tuesday early dinner night. Ample parking and the whole place was clean. Excited to go back and try the other food items!

We came here on a weekend with a friend. I was so surprised at how good is their ramen! Their broth tastes so rich and flavorful. Chashu pork is super tender and tasty! Freshly made noodles are tender and soft.

We got Kai white, Kai black ramen, and Mazesoba ramen( no soup), for the side we got age dashi tofu and takoyaki, we also got lychee green tea and Thai tea. The food comes out fresh and hot perfect for the weather. Quite busy during the weekend, our server is very friendly and gave us excellent recommendations. The store is very clean. With a nice tradition mixed with holiday decorations. Solid 5 stars, need to come back for another bowl of ramen.

Tried the classic tonkatsu and the white ramen. White is better in my opinion. The chashu bowl is pretty tasty but has some pieces of meat that was pure far. I prefer Tatsu ramen over this place though still a good option for the area.

No wait at 7p Labor Day!? Thought I shouldn't set foot inside. It wasn't too bad. Menu from QR code, Not exactly my forte. Prices are fair. Competitions around here are pretty tough. Ordered yellow kai, softshell crab, combo chaisui rice, spicy chicken ramen. It was a hot day so may be that effected how I felt about the noodles. It wasn't as hot (temp. wise) as I would expect. The orders were not oily. It was pretty tasty. The fried softshell was very good. Once again it wasn't streaming hot, but it was crunchy. The yellow kai could use a bit more soup and I should have ordered extra noodles. The combo was a very good value. The spicy chicken order was just spicy. Couldn't find other taste in that one. Probably will order that mild next time.

Forced her to give him money then got her number from the restaurant and harassed her via phone as well trying to find out where she works. This place is disgusting and they will not allow us to speak to the owner or manager. I would not recommend anyone to do business here as they don't care about the safety of children and allowed an employee to follow and harass a child for money with no repercussions. Cold weather calls for ramen🍜🤤 Kai Ramen is a nice and cozy spot that serves delicious Japanese ramen. You can get your ramen fix no matter where you are in LA since they have multiple locations including West Hollywood, Ktown, Alhambra, and Arcadia.👏🏻

🍽️Ordered:
1. Kai white 💰15.50
2. Tsukemen 💰15.95
3. Chicken katsu cutlet curry over rice 💰15.50
4. Takoyaki (8 pieces) 💰10
5. Green tea 💰3

The Kai white ramen is their most popular dish and for good reason. The thin noodles soak up all the fragrant flavors of the garlic infused broth. The tsukemen wasn’t as good as the Kai white since I preferred the thin noodles so next time I’ll try the Kai black as well! The chicken karaage curry was super comforting and I would def get this again! The takoyaki was also really good and crispy on the outside.👏🏻

Kai Ramen is definitely a local favorite. I've been here a few times and will continue to be back to support this local ramen spot. Kai ramen red is my personal go to. The Kai ramen red and white is their most popular ramen. My son's favorite ramen here is the classic tonkotsu. I only wished there was a bit more broth but besides that Kai is definitely a tasty spot. Service was very good. The staff was very tentative and came by numerous times. The gyoza took awhile to come out but staff knew to come by and apologize that it was taking awhile as they were making it fresh. Check into Yelp and get a free drink. They also have other promos.

Tips:
*Accepts credit card.
*Restroom available.
*Shared parking lot with other businesses (i.e. jj bakery, ci tea, phoenix, etc.).
*They have a website.
*Voted top 10 by Eaters LA
*They have an IG page.
*Indoor seating only.

If you're looking for a comforting bowl of noodle soup, I highly recommend Kai Ramen.

Food: They have a variety of different ramen to choose from, and my bf and I chose 2 yummy ones. Their Kai Yellow with cheese is sooooo yum! It is my favorite because it has 1. Cheese, 2. A thick broth that is spicy, 3. Thick noodles, and 4. No bean sprouts.

Service: Their service is impeccable. There was only one server when I was there and even though he waited the whole shop basically, he was attentive. In addition, there were many people in there on a Wednesday night. The vibes were chill and enjoyable which was great.

Parking: It's free (because it's outside of LA) We easily found parking on a Wednesday night, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was difficult to find a parking spot on the weekend.

If you are craving ramen, stop by Kai Ramen today in Arcadia for a delicious bowl of ramen that will warm you up!

From their award-winning Kai White ramen to their Tonkotsu ramen, they have a wide variety of bowls to choose from and if you are vegan, they have the Popeye Vegan ramen to satisfy your cravings!

They have a variety of appetizers to choose from including Agedashi Tofu, Sesame Fried Chicken, and several new ones including Fried Calamari!

Agedashi Tofu (5/5) - one of the best I've had! They gice you big pieces of tofu and plenty of sauce for the tofu! It's a nice healthy appetizer to have against the rich ramen!

Kai White Ramen (5/5) - their famous award-winning ramen is delicious! The crispy onions with the garlic butter add a nice richness to the bowl and the chashu here is nice and fatty! The broth is flavorful while being light and not too heavy!

Buttercorn Ramen (5/5) - one of the few places I know of to serve corn butter ramen and it is definitely one of my favorites here! The corn and butter add so much depth to the broth and they work so well with the chashu and thick noodles they give you! Its a very filling bowl for sure!

Come on by for some delicious ramen and apps! You won't be disappointed with the options and the staff here are very friendly and helpful if you have any questions!

I am a ramen guy and always pick ramen places when I visit a new place. There are different types of ramens and I understand some taste good some are not due to abilities of chefs or materials etc. Yet this place is beyond my imagination - how can you serve MICROWAVED FROZEN FOOD directly to users???

The pork in the ramen was half cold, The gyouzas were connected to each other - which won't happen if they are freshly fried. The takoyaki was not inside and cold outside - which was obviously caused by microwave - the fluid inside the takoyaki was easier to be heated.

The service was ok, but the food... Avoid this place! The convenient store next door has better instant noodles.

This is a fantastic ramen chain with a friendly staff and I love their Lunch offerings. I ordered their Yellow Ramen special with spicy miso broth and it was really flavorful with tender chasu and the Gyoza was alright. Plenty of free parking in lot.

Ordered chicken curry over rice today. The curry has very rich flavors. The fried chicken pieces were tasteful, too. The portion is on the small side since we did not order any appetizers.

Not really a fan of their soup ramen and I also come here for two things only: their dipping ramen and the 4 piece takoyaki! I always request for the noodles to be a bit softer. Free soda if you check in on Yelp.

Medicore ramen in the 626 area with broth that lacks depth and flavor. I am willing to go back to Kai Ramen to give it another chance but was underwhelmed with their ramen. I got the Kai White ramen combo with Chasu Rice and a Coke which came to about $22.

November 2021

Food/ Pricing - Got the Kai's White ramen. $12.50. It was a good amount of food and the quality isn't bad for the price.

Service/ Ambiance - Service could have been more attentive but the place is pretty small so it's not difficult to wave someone down.

Worth giving it a try!

I enjoyed the ramen here!

I ordered Gyoza Potstickers as an appetizer, and they were good. They had a great flavor, and were a bit crunchy.

I also ordered a Kai’s Yellow ramen, and it was delicious. All flavors were were balanced, and the soup had an almost creamy and smooth consistency. The addition on corn and cheese gave it a good kick, but the pork elevated this dish! The noodles were also good and filling. The scallions added some freshness to the whole thing. I recommend it if you’re not lactose intolerant.

I enjoyed my experience overall; however, I recommend eating outside, if possible. The inside of the restaurant is compact, and there is movement around and close to you/your table at all times. Will be back to try other dishes 😊

This place's got some high-quality ramen, which is different than many I have tried. It was featured in various places food blogs. Unfortunately due to the 2nd surge of COVID, the outdoor seating is closed until further notice

They have black, white, and red kai ramen, which all are pretty amazing. I had their black kai ramen combo twice now, with chashew rice bowl and also the chicken fried rice. I got to say their salad isn't the greatest, but their fried rice and chashew are to die for in addition to the ramen.

The only sad thing is, generally by the time I get home with the to-go ramen, the noodles are already cold and dry. It becomes clumpy and hard to eat even after putting it in the hot ramen. Their food, if you do choose ramen, is meant to be eaten fresh -- especially since they do put the noodles separately from the soup to prevent absorption. But definitely a spot worth checking out.

There is generally always a set of the audience waiting for their food when I go there.

The place is shared with plaza parking, which is very spacious and I have not seen it packed (but also covid, so it might not be true to real-time).

Their service is great, just a bit slow but probably its because they do make the food fresh generally depending on what you order.

Kai Ramen was excellent. Among the best in LA as far as Ramen goes. The food was top notch and atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. The staff was friendly and attentive. I had the veggie broth which was delicious. My hubby had the volcano ramen and said it was the perfect amount of spicy, whatever that means 😂. My son had the tonkotsu broth and enjoyed it quite a lot. My brother joined us and I believe his was called sonething like “the bomb”? Over all we very much enjoyed the ramen. Whenever we find ourselves in Arcadia we will definitely be coming back.

🍜•DOUBLE•NOODS•🍜🍜
Nothing’s better during the fall/winter season than a bowl of ramen. Comforting! Delicious! Perfect harmony!!

🍜 we recently checked out Kai Ramen in Arcadia for their famous & authentic ramen selections. Know for their award winning ramens, we were so exited to slurp up those noods. For a party of 2, we got two bowls of ramen 🍜, an appetizer & hot 🍵. The service was fabulous. Food was delicious and served hot. We had a fantastic experience 💫. You definitely need to check out Kai Ramen and give them some love ❤️.

Found this place while craving tsukemen and tonkotsu. The tsukemen was fishier than expected, and the kai white ramen was very rich from the added butter, which was good initially when I was hungry, but after a while made it feel too heavy to finish (the plain tonkotsu may have been better for me). Overall the food satisfied my cravings but was nothing spectacular or mind blowing.

Great place to come if you are craving Ramen. I love that they had a chicken broth option and was beyond happy that they actually season the chicken before putting it in the ramen. The overall combination of the chicken, veggies, and broth was amazing. The broth was rich and thick as if it was pork based as well. I was surprised and please with it...full of flavor that hit the right spot. The service was quick and the waitress was attentive to our needs. The food came out in a timely manner.

I thoroughly enjoyed my ramen here. It was my first time and I appreciate the extensive menu they have. They have ramen with pork, chicken, or vegetable soup bases so there's a lot of options based on one's preference. Their soup is relatively thick so that's appreciated.

I ordered Kai's White, which consisted of the tonkatsu flavor that I was craving. Kai's Black would have been similar to Kai's White, except that in Kai's Black it has black garlic oil. The addition of the crispy onion as well as the garlic butter really made the tonkatsu broth in Kai's White really rich and creamy. I like how the noodles were prepared as well; I had to order a round of extra noodles since I had much soup left. I don't think the broth was salty, it was just right. I am definitely coming back.

[Note: the Restaurant is in soft opening State and does not have a full menu as of the time of writing this review]

The food at Kai Ramen was presented very tastefully with nice quality flatware. The food was made fresh and had amazing quality. The noodles in the ramen were very authentic tasting and were fresh. The pork chashu used in the cooking was very tender and didn’t have an overly chewy texture; it was perfect. The broths in their soups are made from scratch daily. That means no powder mixes. It really shows as the ramen has a very unique original flavor.

If you like Japanese ramen, I would recommend this Ramen restaurant.
