Lao Xi Noodle House 2nd branch soft opening.
Came here for lunch at around 1pm and there was no wait for a seat so that was great. We ordered the House Special Fried Noodle w/ Fried Boiled Pork Knife Cut Style (15.50), Wife Special Noodle (15.50), Special Beef Noodle Soup spicy (16.99), and Green Onion Pancake (7.99). As our first time here, we ordered quite a lot for only 3 people after seeing how delicious they looked in the menu.
The food was served one after another in about 20 minutes. The beef noodles was served last. All the dishes were good but my favorite was the knife cut noodles and the wife noodles. The knife cut noodles had a unique flavor but did get a bit greasy as it sat there longer while we ate the other dishes. The wife noodles tasted more like tomatoes but it was pretty good. All the noodles had good texture and were flavorful but not salty. The beef noodles tasted just average for being the most expensive dish. Note that it said it is spicy but it wasn't spicy at all. As for the green onion pancake, it was crispy and authentic tasting.
The portions for all of them were all reasonable for the price. They were quite generous with the amount of meat for the dishes. I did not really like the texture of the beef in the noodle soup though. Also lots of noodles! We had leftovers to take home at the end even though we tried to eat as much as we could.
This noodle place overall feels authentic and homey. The service is great and I believe it is family run. I can see how they have been opened for so long. I would definitely come back again for lunch or takeout! Support small businesses!

This place used to be a dump with another restaurant brand running it. I was surprised to find a beautiful and well lit restaurant when we walked in. It's a totally different vibes here now.
The service was excellent as I was greeted by the owner with a big smile. They were very efficient in serving us and the food came out in no time.
As true to its accolades that greeted us on the wall, the food were amazing. I am glad that went to try out this restaurant.
We ordered our favorites knife cut noodle and the cold noodle dishes. These two noodles were as good a Northwest noodle as you can get from the region that's known for great noodles in China. The sauce that's blended with the noodle was so tasty. The texture of the noodle perfectly complimented my taste buds.
Our other favorites were the shrimp and pork dumpling and onion pancake. The dumplings were totally delicious and felt more of home made food. The pancakes were very flaky and flavorful.
The prices are not outrageous as most the dishes are under $16.
The restaurant shares the parking spaces with Dumpling House in the back.
If you love noodles, this place definitely worth your visit.

The so called “ knife cut noodles” is not knife cut anymore. It supposed to be thick in the center and thin on the side to create that natural chewiness. Now They just use regular wide noodles. Linda disappointed, fake advertising. Also the dish is mainly noodles, very little meats and veggies. I don’t know if I wanna pay this much for noodles that barely has anything in there.

Food was good. Service was too, and quick!
Really liked the cold noodles with that sesame sauce, but I had to be a gentleman and let the lady at our table have the last bite. 😭
Their "cat ears" were really interesting --no, they're really just tiny 'gnocchi', but they someone could've come up with a better name.

Service, food, cleanliness, the overall experience was just so top notch.
Do you like chewy noodles? Freshly made dumplings with chewy skin and flavorful fillings? Are you not-a-fan of artificial flavors?
I truly appreciated their simple yet hearty foods made from scratch; the combination of flavors were so good. I also appreciate their limited menu items, clearly indicating what their specialties and focus are. Plus they’re really good at it!
I’m so glad to know that I don’t have to go far to enjoy authentic quality Lao Xi regional specialties! I’d go back again and again and bring special guests to introduce their foods. Truly amazing!! ☄️

The best beef noodle soup take out I’ve EVER had… for as long as I can remember being in USA. It gets an A+ from me. Literally zero complaints. Good noodles, fat and tender pieces of meat, good broth and veggies. I don’t follow trends but I hope this place is poppin’ off. Dumplings are yummy too.

The negative reviews here get it wrong, I've been coming here for over two years- the comfort and simplicity of the dishes gives this place the reason why so many locals keep coming back. This place is highly recommended for the consistency and being a local favorite

The knife-cut noodles at this restaurant are not Chinese knife-cut noodles, so don't be misled by the name. I waited 40 minutes, only receive the wrong dish, and they didn’t even give any apologize. Perhaps business is so good that they don’t have the time to care about small customers like us.

I am a picky person when it comes to eating out. When my sister said a noodle house I wasn’t sure about it. But I decided to really try it. Well it was great I would recommend this place and go back again. Quiet little place in Arcadia. Very clean. Very helpful servers and reasonably priced.

Dining at Lao Xi Noodle House, I was immediately struck by the inviting scent of authentic spices, hinting at the culinary delights to come. The staff’s warm hospitality set the tone for a remarkable dining experience. Each dish, especially their signature noodles, was a celebration of tradition and taste. The hand-pulled noodles had the perfect chew, swimming in a deeply flavorful broth that was clearly crafted with care and expertise. Every bite was a testament to the authentic Chinese flavors Lao Xi prides itself on. For anyone in search of genuine, heartwarming Chinese cuisine, Lao Xi Noodle House is an absolute treasure.

Amazing! The special beef soup was so flavorful! The beef was so tasty & tender, the broth was so rich, noodles perfect, everything perfect! I added the spice in the jar to taste — & it was divine. My bowl was left completely empty.
My boyfriend also really enjoyed his pork noodle plate. Prices were great too. Both of us ate well and paid about $40 (before tip).

Got the Lao Xi Special Beef Noodle Soup. Excellent warm, balanced spice (I did add a bit of chili oil, but arguable whether it truly needed it). The noodles had a nice satisfying chewy bite. The beef was fall-apart tender and so flavorful. Service was quick and atmosphere was perfect for a quick, midday bite. They even answered questions about their menu so that I know what I want for next time.

This is the best beef noodle restaurant in Arcadia. There are two types spicy and non spicy (original). See picture. I also like the wife noodle dish, dumplings and cold vegetable dishes. The owners are very nice and humble. They were also featured in Buzzfeed on YouTube $10 noodles vs $94 noodles. You have to just go and try it! The noodles are made fresh and the soup base is very authentic. You won’t find any other noodle restaurant with the same taste and texture.

I gave a bad review!!Because my kids and I just used the bathroom! A salesgirl went to the bathroom and came out and said something in front of me! The toilet is so dirty!!! I used to eat here 1-4 times every month for the past 8 months. For some reason they secretly raised their prices and still using the same old menu. Meanwhile the dishes' sizes became smaller. Apparently they want to cut cost cuz I noticed that meat/garnishes' portion has been significantly reduced. Only 4 tiny pieces of lamb in their lamb stir fried noodles (my most recent order). With all of these they still raising price WITHOUT telling you. You will find out when you pay your bill. Be aware.
I will NOT come back again.

Cindy's Noodle Land is the latest restaurant to take over this constantly-changing restaurant rotation of 921 South Baldwin Ave. I feel like I have watched 8-10 restaurants set up and close down within a few months, so I'm hoping Cindy's will actually succeed.
I was made aware of Cindy's Noodle Land after reading James L.'s review. Apparently it's the sister restaurant of Liang's Kitchen, but the menu displays Liang's Kitchen under the Monterey Park address and Cindy's Noodle Land under the Arcadia address. While the restaurant is called "noodle land", they have an assortment of other items such as soup, meat dishes, stir-fried dishes, rice dishes, bento rice dishes, cold dishes, as well as buns. I saw a ton of customers ordering different buns - they were actually decently sized and looked pretty good as they came out of the kitchen!
Of course I had to try their stewed beef and tendon noodle soup with thick noodles ($8.95). The soup flavors were pretty bold and tasty, but I felt like it was missing the pickled vegetables that other places willingly offer. There were maybe about 2-3 slices of the pickled vegetables inside, which was kind of disappointing, but the soup was tasty and flavorful and hit the spot on a cold night. There was a good amount of beef and tendon inside that bowl of soup as well. The meat was so tender and soft - and I felt like they gave me a ton. And my friend is vegetarian, so he wanted none of my dish. But the best thing about this dish was definitely the thick-cut noodles. I think they make the noodles by hand as the noodle gets thick and thin, etc. Super al dente and even though there weren't that many strands of noodles, each strand was super long that I was already stuffed after eating several bites. With the addition of more vegetables and pickled vegetables, this dish would be perfect.
My friend ordered the tomato braised egg hand-made noodle ($7.95) after making sure it was vegetarian. The noodles were the same thick-cut noodles as my beef noodle soup, and there was a good amount of cucumber strands, egg, tomato, etc. that gave the noodles that strong tomato-y flavor. I thought it tasted pretty good, but I'm not the biggest fan of dry noodles; however, the slightly tangy taste of the tomato and the chewiness of the noodles really made for a solid dish.
And since everybody raves about the cold-dishes, we got the three item combo for around $8. It's definitely worth it as they piled on a ton of seaweed onto the plate. I was a bit disappointed that the pig ear was all sold out, but the seaweed, bamboo shoots, and tofu strings were all really tasty. Even though the bamboo and seaweed were a little spicy, they both tasted really good - a great appetizer dish before the main dishes.
I was pretty stuffed by the end of the meal, and I still had enough to take home for leftovers. Restaurant is pretty decently sized with booths around the restaurant and several tables scattered in the middle. Food comes out of the kitchen fairly quickly. Lots of parking in the back as well as street parking.
tl;dr - If you're looking for a new place to try, definitely check out Cindy's Noodle Land. Seems like they're pretty busy these days, so you might have to wait for a table. They also close fairly early. Credit cards accepted on transactions over $25 only. I would recommend their thick-cut beef noodle soup! Prices are reasonable as well. Service was a miss, but we were in and out pretty quickly. I would come back again to try some other dishes.
