TAI ER SICHUAN CUISINE 太二酸菜鱼 (ARCADIA)

I didn’t know what to expect at this restaurant, this sauerkraut fish is phenomenal. It’s addictive, nice and spicy with peppercorns to add numbness. Unlike anything I have ever had. My wife and I loved this restaurant. The calamari is a must, nice dry herb seasoning and green beans are good too. Spoke to the manager Jay, said they have 600 restaurants around the world and only two in usa, in nyc and la. Said that it’s hard doing a single serve meal because this dish is meant to be eaten family style and people are not used to fish skin and fish in general. I told him to stick to what works and you can not accommodate everyone, it’s a great product and people will come.

Put your name on the waitlist if it’s busy! They’ll text you and you’ll have to confirm. We sat inside but there were still flies inside. We were constantly swinging our arms over the water/food when it arrived.

Non-spicy sauerkraut fish - I came twice. 1st time (weekend), we got the big one, there was glass noodle in it. Lots of fish! We had a table of 4. This is the 2nd time (weekday), we got the big bowl because they had a deal of adding 2 addition items to put into the bowl. We got the flat noodle and bean curd.. We didn’t get the bean curd… and there weren’t any of the glass noodle. We did get our flat glass noodle though. I will say, there weren’t as much fish as my first time. I’m assuming they don’t do it by weight but by feel of how much they put in? or look at our table size? I’m not too sure but I was disappointed with the amount of fish.

Tofu skin - cold dish - it will come really quick. Within 5 minutes of ordering. It a salty dish. It’s delicious though! Would recommend to try if you haven’t had before!

Braised spinach with shrimp - I made the mistake of eating the fish bowl then this dish. There was absolutely no taste. So if you get this dish. Eat this dish first, or taste it first!

Spicy squid - it comes with shrimp crackers - it’s a must get for me! I like the crispness and the spices.

String beans - delicious! A bit crispy and lots of flavor. Highly recommend!

Servers: very attentive. I do believe If table needs to have their food taken to go. Since they package it for us, I would prefer a guy do it as the women didn’t have enough strength to pick up the fish dish or the gloves didn’t help with the grip. Liquid splashed everywhere and the to go container was wet on the lid/sides. They still proceeded to put it into our bag without wiping it down. it was a mess when I got home. Their bag is nice though!

I love this place. It’s a huge chain in China and I’m glad they finally come to LA.
Their SuanCaiYu, the signature fish dish, is the best in LA I think. But all side dishes we ordered are great as well!!

This was my favorite restaurant when I was in school, and I still love it now. It's open in Los Angeles, so I'll give it a try! The pickled fish here is so authentic that you can't stop eating it. The environment is pretty good, and the waiters are very nice, which makes people feel very comfortable. Next time I have a dinner with friends, this restaurant will definitely be my first choice!

The portions of the fish pot are terribly small. Maybe Only 8-10 thin slices of fish, we ordered two pots and other stuffs , all small portions of the foods , we all felt hungry after walked out the restaurant. Terrible experience.

My wife and I finally made our way to try Tai-er’s Suancai Fish. We ordered the smallest spicy version. The flavor was spicy, numbing and yet delightful. I caution biting into the pepper. It will numb your mouth and taste buds for sure.
This is definitely a good restaurant for larger group eating family style, as you can sample a lot more dishes.
The new jelly desert (didn’t catch the name) was perfect for toning down the spicy and numbing effects.
In all, we will have to bring more people to visit next time. Also, it does wet busy on weekends and Friday nights.

Came to see the super positive and superhandsome Tu Ba Ge (兔八哥）, who we met while walking around the mall several days ago.

We have always loved sauerkraut fish and decided to visit Tu Ba Ge (兔八哥）and try Tai Er, and the food, atmosphere, and service was amazing.

The fish was tender, fresh, and cooked to a smooth, slightly chewy texture that goes well with rice and the broth.

The service is very friendly and efficient, and Tu Ba Ge introduced us to the specials and ensured we had a great first dining experience at Tai Er.

Highly recommend to those who are welcoming the upcoming cooler weather with a nice steamy pot of joy!

Tai Er is definitely one of my favorite restaurants to go to. They provide excellent service as well as a dining experience that food lovers cannot miss! I ordered the Sauerkraut fish and the Mapo tofu, both were delicious and the fish was cooked perfectly. 10/10 would come again

I was looking forward to my visit to Taier, especially after my fantastic experience in Canada. Unfortunately, my experience in LA was quite different. The soup was served cold, suggesting it may have been sitting out for a while, and the flavor was overly sweet compared to what I enjoyed in Canada. Additionally, the appetizer arrived 30 minutes after the soup and was also cold. The service was acceptable but could be improved; when I requested to split the check, the server simply told me to Venmo my friend!!

My kid waited around 40 minutes to get her kids meal. I can tell the restaurant is busy. So I checked with host lady. She said ok she will check. Then she never come back again. We then checked with a tall guy . He said ok. Then disappeared. Finally I checked with a lady came over to pull water for us. She said she does not know anything asked me check with a guy . I mean I understand the restaurant is busy but they seems doing different things inside of part of the team. And I’m reasonable person. If you come back let me know the meal will be here few minutes I would feel much better. 0 service. Food is good.

Technological additives fish. The sanitary conditions are very poor. The whole restaurant is full of flies, the table is covered with grease, and both of us had diarrhea after eating it. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever seen.

I recently visited Tai Er, and it was an exceptional experience. The restaurant has a comfortable environment with unique decor. The suancai fish is authentic, with fresh, tender fish and perfectly sour pickled vegetables. The spicy broth is unforgettable. The service was excellent, especially the manager Tubage who was very attentive and ensured we had a great dining experience. Overall, both the food and service were outstanding. I highly recommend Tai Er Suancai Fish to anyone who loves pickled fish dishes. You won't be disappointed!

Love the interior of the restaurant!!! Food is great portion and super delicious!!!!!!!! 抱着试一试的态度来到了太二，国内品牌在洛杉矶的分店，第一次在国内尝试就觉得价格虚高，性价比超低，这次在洛杉矶一尝试更是加深了这个印象，性价比依然超低，大份鱼非常少，里面添加了付费蔬菜，端上来的量都还是令我震惊，好少，比普通中餐馆贵了一倍、少了一半的量、抢钱？
老坛子酸菜鱼：鱼肉份量很少，酸菜没有酸菜的味道，酸味儿很浅，不写菜名我都不知道是酸菜鱼，里面增加的菊花瓣儿除了好看一无是处，只是增加用餐成本而已
重庆口水鸡：虽然不辣，但辣椒油还是挺香的，添加的藕片不入味，份量也是很小
红油无骨鸡爪：除了无骨是优势、鸡爪不入味，份量很小
停不下来小酥肉：是真的小啊，惊了
整体消费160美金，没吃个什么名堂、说真的，划不来

Authentic Szechuan cuisine, and great service in a modern and beautifully decorated restaurant. The main dish is even customizable with ingredients and flavor! My daughter loves the way the napkins are presented. :)

We’ve been here twice now and we like it. The food is flavorful, even the non-spicy dishes! The seats are comfortable, the servers have been friendly, and the little wishing jar adds a little extra fun. My child got a kids meal and it’s nice to have that option, as well as the cute gift that comes with it. I like having the drawer full of chopsticks, napkin packs, and tissues readily available, too!
