Japanese dishes are a true delight. Sushi is both beautiful and delicious, and the fresh shrimp is so vibrant it can seem like it's jumping. The rice bowls are hearty and flavorful, while sashimi, like oysters, are tender and fresh. The excellent service in a pleasant setting enhances the dining experience, especially with the open view of fresh ingredients. Dining here is a memorable and enjoyable culinary adventure.

Haven't been to KIYO for a while and they still don't disappoint with their fresh assortment of seafood. Their sashimi always great quality and they even have certified A5 Wagyu beef! I definitely recommend getting the live sweet shrimp and splurge for the uni tofu. Good service and plenty of parking.

Premium chirashi don with fresh cuts and good size but the uni unfortunately has that somewhat smelly//briny taste to it. Blue crab hand roll is sweet. The ootoro has some. Caviar on top and is fragrant and fatty. The sushi is on the pricier end but for the larger cuts and overall quality it is fairly priced.

My friends picked this restaurant to get dinner on a random weekday night and I had mixed feelings on the quality of their food. But the minute they brought out the sashimi platter, I knew everything else would be amazing! We were curious about their special lobster sashimi on the menu and ordered it. They brought out the head that was still moving along with the sashimi part of this lobster on a platter. It's just the muscle memory that makes the lobster head to move. If this is still on the menu when you visit, it's a must try!!
I love how the menu is on the ipad and the layout was super easy to navigate. The minute I saw ankimo on the menu, I had to order it because not a lot of places have it. I love how they served with a side of season, seaweed, and cucumbers!
The Wagyu Shabu Shabu was the main star of our dinner. This was literally just melt in your mouth deliciousness that I can eat every day if money was not an issue. That experience was 5 stars! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a cozy dinner and quality food + service without having to dress up because it's a casual ambiance. Check them out while they still have the lobster sashimi special!

Ordered miso soup $3.75 small cup was only slightly warm and only had 2 tiny squares of tofu in it. Missing the seaweed
Ordered one veggie cut roll don’t remember the price but it was terrible not worth a dollar. The rice was hard and dry not sticky rice as expected. Veggie roll was filled with lettuce, a sliver of carrot, a tiny square of cucumber and a very thin slice of avocado . No noori which is traditional for sushi rolls and mandatory for my taste in sushi. Completely flavorless. Aside from the generous amount of ginger… I am highly disappointed with the quality of the food and lack of taste in the two dishes I ordered. Won’t be going back to this restaurant, ever.

Amazing Father's Day Experience at Kiyo Japanese Cuisine!**
If you're looking for a fantastic spot to celebrate Father's Day in Arcadia, look no further than **Kiyo Japanese Cuisine**. This gem of a restaurant offers incredibly fresh ingredients and delightful dishes that will impress any sushi lover.
**Highlights of Our Visit:**
- **Uni Tofu**: The sea urchin and tofu combination is nothing short of perfection. A must-try for anyone who appreciates fine flavors.
- **Sea Bass Sashimi**: We enjoyed this dish at a special price of $25 (down from $32) by showing a specific post. The sea bass can be prepared two ways: as sashimi or fried, making it a versatile and delicious choice.
- **Sea Urchin, Conch, and Oyster Combo**: A stunning platter that showcases the freshness and quality of their seafood.
- **Sweet Shrimp**: These were a highlight! The shrimp can be prepared two ways, and the fried shrimp head adds an extra crunch that’s absolutely delightful.
- **Sashimi Combo**: Perfectly cut, fresh, and flavorful.
- **Sea Bass**: Another hit on the menu that’s not to be missed.
The atmosphere at Kiyo Japanese Cuisine is welcoming, and the service is top-notch. It made our Father's Day celebration truly special. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy authentic and high-quality Japanese cuisine.
**Don't miss out on the special offer and treat your family to an unforgettable dining experience at Kiyo!

I recently visited Kiyo for dinner & really enjoyed the experience, from the sushi bar ambiance and the prompt service, to the iPad menus which made it easy to sort through the extensive offerings in an organized, simple and visually appealing way.
The Chirashi bowls & Uni Gyutofu were some of my favorite dishes, along with the A5 certified Wagyu & the Bluefin O-Toro sushi. Everything was super fresh & flavorful! I definitely would recommend giving Kiyo a try.

This place definitely deserves the 5 star rating. Been a customer since its original location as the Opus sushi. Very reasonable price for the quality and type of sashimi they serve. Incredibly fresh and savory. Favorite thing to order is the deluxe chirashi plus uni sushi.

@kiyoarcadia is a cozy restaurant with a variety of dishes to try. I tried quite a few.
The Vegetable Tempura and Deep Fried Calamari were crispy and light.
Shrimp Tempura Udon had a mild broth with noodles cooked perfectly and yummy shrimp tempura which was perfect for a cold rainy night.
White Peach Yuzu Soda was so refreshing and flavorful. So good!
Miso Chilean Sea Bass was moist and flavorful and a perfect balance of sweet miso.
Fresh Oysters were good quality and delicious.
Shrimp so fresh it was still moving. I did not try it 😂 I prefer my food not moving at all.

Didn’t expect much but turned out to be one of the best meal I’ve had in LA. Seriously they have very good Wagyu A5 shabu shabu and live lobster!! The wagyu literally melts in the mouth. It’s the best shabu shabu I’ve had so far. The portion is quite small, though, but that’s expected from the price of the grade A5 I guess. For sushi, the Toro parts are what I would order again. Great service! Lovely vibe!

I was searching for a sushi dinner with my friends. Luckily I found this place. We had the rainbow roll dragon roll. All the rolls were pretty good. I enjoyed the sushi more than I expected. The unagi was soft and full of flavor and topped on a warm bed of rice. The scallops were good and so were the other sashimi!

They have certified A5 beef shabushabu, just look at the texture to see how delicious it is, and with a glass of Japanese craft beer 🍻 In addition to A5 wagyu beef, there is also a USDA option, which comes with vegetable platters and tahini Ponzu!

This was okay, the takoyaki was the best part but the protein roll and the red dragon were lacking. When you go in they have a virtual menu on a tablet but it’s UI isn’t very good you have to click on every item to see what’s in it. The mobile version is much better. The food was hit or miss. The appetizer was good but the food wasn’t and for the price as well you would expect it to be good. Everything is $20 the appetizers were $6-15.
Overall a good 3/5 time, the waiter was fast and nice.

I like their Vegetable Tempura. The vegetables (eggplant, sweet potato, onions, squash, shishito pepper) are perfectly deep-fried and not oily. I like the tempura sauce too. We also got the Spicy Tuna roll. The portion ratio of the rice and fish is just right.

First time ordering.
I ordered a total of five rolls and one of them being a basic california roll for my two-years old toddler. We found a piece of plastic, about the length of half of your pinky, in one of his california roll piece. Thank god he spit it out, imagine he swallowed it. This is extremely dangerous and unsanitary for anyone to find this size of plastic in their food.
Not only that, the other fresh rolls we ordered were not that fresh either. I could see the fish being very discolored after having a couple pieces and the roll is all falling apart. Not so long after I was feeling a bit nauseous after finishing my meals.
Never going back again, and not recommended at all!

I sometimes take out foods at this place because I know they are struggling and wanted to help. But today it took them 1 hour and 6 minutes to prepare for my sushi set and grilled salmon orders. They need to hire another helper in the hall and should not accept more orders than they can process. Very disappointed.
I am switching to Kiyosuzu for my next sushi meals.

Quick Summary
It's not your traditional Japanese restaurant. However, with its modern decor, decent food, and excellent value, KIYO has become my go-to Japanese spot in Arcadia
Food- 4 stars
The chirashi bowl here is pretty good. I've tried the ramen here; it's decent but would stick with the sushi here. My only complaint is that the fish comes out a bit cold. I would recommend coming at lunch when they're not as busy. The food and service are better because they're not as rushed.
Service- 3 stars
They're okay at lunch, but they're pretty slow during dinner because they're serving more customers. They need to change their wait staff workflow or hire more staff
Value- 5 stars
$20 for a miso soup, chirashi bowl, and a dessert with the Yelp check in. You can't beat that lunch deal value.
Bottom Line
You're going to get decent sushi at a great value at KIYO. And that's why it makes it one of my go-to spots in Arcadia (especially when I don't want to drive too far).

Summary:
They didn't bring out 3 out of 5 of our orders with in twenty five minutes of ordering. There was no real apology as we canceled the missing three orders and left.
The details:
5 of us arrived and this place was empty or almost empty. Two or three waitresses were standing there to greet us and two or the sushi chefs were behind the bar.
We ordered two ramens, two katsu don rice bowls, and one b.s.c. roll.
The two ramen came quickly. However, twenty five minutes after ordering, our B.S.C. and katsu dons didn't arrive. Three out of five of us were sitting around, watching the two others finish their meals and not one of the waitresses noticed? Not one of them saw that more than half of the people at table had no food yet?
I asked them to check at about the twenty minute mark. About five minutes later, at around the 25 minute mark, we asked to cancel the others. This is when the waitress asked if we still wanted the b.s.c. that was almost done being made. Wow. They should have put a rush on our orders and maybe given us a bowl of edamame to calm our hunger but that didn't seem like a possibility to these people. What really bothers me is that this place was half full, at best, and no one checked on us the whole time. I had to flag them down each time.
We got a simple apology from one or two of the waitresses as we were leaving but each felt insincere. I don't know who f'd up our orders or what happened but frankly, I don't care. A sincere apology probably would have gone a long way with us today but we didn't get that either.
I wouldn't come back here. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time and risk the bad experience, ruined night, etc.

KIYO is a 4.25 experience with room to grow!
The ambiance of this place is nice, discrete, contemporary and upscale. Not typical Japanese, but comfortable and welcoming. My Compliments for choosing Jazz for the music, nice touch. 4.5 Stars.
The food matches the restaurant with its classy sushi bar taking up half the restaurant. So go in and enjoy the well selected sashimi cuts. Better than most within the SGV. 4 Stars.
Katsu Dombori, House Salad, Veggie Roll, Rainbow Roll all 4 star dishes.
Service is very good. 5 stars for the staff.
As I understand it. There is a new KIYO location in Irvine and a sister restaurant called Opus in Arcadia. This should help improve offerings as they will have better access to quality with higher volume orders.
Come try them out. I’ll be back and with more of the family. See you soon.

We came primarily for the ramen since it was a chilly evening. We had the Tonkotsu Ramen and Chicken Soup Ramen and they were delicious! The broth alone was so tasty.
