Tea Maru - Housemade Boba

The drinks taste very good.
The prices are good.
It wasn't crowded when I went.
Nice interior decor.
Adjacent to a garden if you want to sit outside.
Seats indoor are limited.
Seating quality is average.
Table count could increase or use larger tables.

The worker who helped me is very good and reasonable.

Overall:
I would recommend this business, and don't sleep on the latte-based drinks; they're good and the milk is so creamy but damn did I get a cup full of ice!!!

Got two teas, one signature milk tea and one matcha with foam. Both are super blend, cannot taste any tea flavor. Felt like I just drank some watered down milk. I was watching the other reviews seeing how good people are talking about it, I just didn’t get the hype.

Nice customer service and good fresh boba balls made on site. I used the current 20% off Yelp promotion and bought more.
Really like their Maru Milk, sometimes I have trouble with milk products but was ok with this!
No seating inside, but there were some places to sit near the parking lot in the shade.

Came from the SFV to redeem a Groupon. Highly recommend this location its clean, bright and the energy that exudes from Cust svc Bryan was way more then expected..He generally wanted to help and gave us a detailed run down of flavored concoctions

March 2022 - We went during their grand opening and the store had a BOGO discount.

Food/Pricing - Taro Storm ($6.25) and Uji Matcha Cheese Foam w/ Lychee Jelly ($6.40).
Taro Storm seemed to have real bits of taro in it and was pretty tasty.
I typically enjoy matcha anything but I felt that there was too much happening in this drink combo of cheese foam and matcha.

Service/Ambiance - Very friendly service and there was a line but it went by fairly quick! From what I saw, they seemed to make their boba fresh (you see the little machine shooting out little tapioca balls) and in house which is pretty neat.

Will I be back? Yes if I'm nearby! I'd like to try the other drinks, especially the matcha minus cheese foam. I recommend giving this place a try!

This is honestly the best boba I’ve ever had! And the prices are really good. The boba is homemade and the service is quick. I highly recommend coming here.

The place is clean and spacious but looks too plain and lacks any decorations or styles. The store itself is hard to find and basically, is at the corner of the inside building (back of the 24Hr fitness separated by an alleyway). There was only one server in the store where he was to take orders, answer phone calls, and take online orders, plus prepare all the drinks.
The drink was pretty tasty and the boba was fresh, just that he only gave me very little of the taro puree where I can't even taste it after two sips but those two tiny sips were delicious. The matcha tea foam on top was also rich and creamy. I ordered less sweet, less ice, with organic milk.

Overall, it was an ok experience since they are using handmade boba and organic milk, which I think is part of their signature selling point.

I love Tea Maru drinks because the boba is made fresh. However, this Arcadia location is very inconsistent. I have come here at least five times, and always order the strawberry slush. This past time I visited on a Sunday afternoon, and the worker seemed rather unhappy. The strawberry slush should have boba, slush, and ice cream on top, but he made my drink incorrectly, without any ice cream. When I brought this to his attention, he simply said, “Oh, I must have forgot. I can give it to you in a cup.” I was very disappointed with the service I received and will be going to the San Gabriel location in the future.

Update: November 2024. I ordered the strawberry slush again and reminded the employee it comes with ice cream, so she gave it to me. However, they were out of strawberry boba and substituted mango boba without letting me know.

I went to buy two drinks yesterday. There was no one in the store. After waiting for almost 20 minutes, it was still not ready. The film sealing machine was broken. I asked the store clerk to help me replace the cup with a regular lid. As a result, I had to wait 20 minutes for the large drink I bought to be changed to a medium drink. So why did I pay for a large drink and wait 20 minutes for a medium drink?

TLDR: Staff didn't have online order ready and instead of making my order, sells the last boba to walk-in customers and tells me to wait 20 min+ for more.

Ordered online, arrived past the pick up time, and order wasn't ready. Instead of making my beverages, they served two walk-in customers and told me they just ran out of boba...

They told me I could wait another 20 minutes for more and couldn't give me a refund.

I've come here several times and always leave a tip yet this place consistently never has your order ready, staff just sits around until you walk in and make you wait anyway.

This place is ridiculous. We waited 30 minutes for 3 Maru milks… There was only one worker there and 4 people before us, so the worker took 30 minutes to make 7 drinks. We don’t plan to ever come back. Plus, there are no seats so me and my child had to stand for 30 minutes straight.

Bad experience today with a poorly trained employee. Basically received a cup of milk with the tiniest hint of matcha, and a few drops of mango syrup with tons of ice and water. We had to ask her to blend the slush more because it had chunks of ice and could not travel up the straw. She re-blended with water but then it was just drinking slushy water with a hint of fruit syrup. Just why? Inedible and tossed it. Anyone could make 100% better at home with minimal effort 🫣

The owner or franchisee of this location should start paying more attention. The store is sitting empty and dead for a reason!

Poor management very likely because the (one) employee always seem sad and somewhat dejected 😞 must be lonely working this dead boba shop.

Delicious boba! A little understaffed for the demand at 5:30 on the weekend, but the employee on site was hustling, communicating timeframes with customers and overall rocking it!

Kids love the boba drinks here, especially with the mango flavored boba. Good size drinks and customizable. Usually get 50% sugar and less ice when available.
