Jantz Café & Bakery

We love it here! The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is always so kind and cheerful. I enjoy trying new drinks from the cafe every visit, breakfast is our favorite but lunch is great as well. The French toast with Dutch honey is my favorite for breakfast and the Strawberry Spinach Salad is my favorite for lunch. Sometimes there is a little bit of a wait to be seated but I guarantee you it's worth the wait. Also, you can't beat free pie day! Just be sure to download the rewards app to rack up points. So worth it!

I am typically not a sweets person for breakfast but a friend suggested the cinnamon French toast w the Dutch honey syrup and it did not disappoint! 10/10! Best French toast I’ve ever had! Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because we had to ask a couple of times for my friends drip coffee to be filled, I even got my specialty coffee before she ever got her regular coffee cup filled so service can use a bit of work but other than that food was amazing!

Besides their homemade pies, their sandwiches and burgers are delicious. I also enjoy their Dark Chocolate Mocha and Latte when there’s chilly weather. Best of all is their customer service.

Truly loved going Jantz, for my first time I liked it so much I came back the next day. I really love their coffee, the taste is great and the names are unique. The atmosphere of the cafe was really comfortable, clean, and welcoming. I highly recommend going to Jantz cafe.

Everyone is very considerate and the food is excellent. Especially liked the tuna melt, it has a nice tangy flavor and the sour dough bread is top notch.

I love meeting with friends for lunch at Jantz Cafe! The atmosphere is perfect to enjoy a delicious meal and be able to carry on a conversation without loud music.

I meet my daughter for breakfast once a week and this is our favorite spot. The food is always great, the service impeccable, we couldn't ask to be treated any better. Charity is one of our favorite servers. She always greets us with a smile, it's evident she loves her job. Friendly, cozy atmosphere. Never too loud. The coffee one of the best in town. If I could give more stars, I would.

I visited the Jantz restaurant in Atwater and had my first Cheeseburger from their menu. My grandsons often make that choice when dining with me. The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and was very enjoyable. Avocado gave it just the right additional touch. I’ll definitely return to Jantz’s. It remains my favorite place for an enjoyable lunch in Atwater.

The food here, no matter what you order, is always excellent and well presented. The wait staff in the restaurant and counter staff in the bakery and coffee shop are always happy to serve you and aim to please. In every way, from ambience to taste to service, Jantz is so much better than any national chain diner. And I’ve tried nearly all of them in all the regions of this country.

My husband and I love Jantz and Jantz Coffee Co!
We love to get coffee and sometimes a bakery treat to go with it .
With locally roasted beans and always a few homemade syrups it adds a special touch and great quality.
Different flavors than other local places ; Good quality milk and great non dairy alternatives including oat and almond milk. Hot , iced or blended - delicious !
Today we got the breakfast burrito and it is very large and depending on how hungry you are big enough to share for us today! Loaded with eggs, potatoes, and bacon! We like to order the bacon to be cooked crisp and it was cooked exactly how we ordered it! A little salsa and guacamole on the side- Filling and delicious!! We also enjoying eating outside and bringing our dog !

I was a regular customer until the other day, the "manager"went up to my table after 1 hr of being there saying i couldn't order food over the phone & dine in. I told her I had asked over the phone and they had told me that was fine. She replied "well they were miss informed"... am not sure what the issue was since I paid for drinks and coffee... to top it off I had asked that my potatoes were really burnt and she said well i can't do anything about it anymore. I said why? She said you should've told us earlier! Cause we cant do-nothing anymore. Honestly i don't like to complain about my food. But at this point I asked her who's the manager ? She said with a laugh" I am!" I said who's above you ? She replied "the owners" but with a smirk. I don't recommend this place anymore if she's the manager.
I will definitely try to reach out to owners cause this is not ok. It makes there business look horrible. All other girls are super nice I've never had an issue. But with that one so called manager it's an issue am not sure if shes just racist cause now that i think about it she has always been rude at my table. FYI- she always wears a black dress wears eye glasses and has short hair to her shoulders.

I’ve only been to the cafes/bakeries in Mariposa and Merced. I recommend them both (and I’m sure the Atwater location is just as good). Good food and the crew are always friendly.

We came on a Saturday (8/17/24) for lunch, and it was very busy, but we had a wonderful cup of coffee while we waited for our table. It was a short wait to get our table and wait staff was very attentive even though it was super busy.

The food is very good here and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the deserts they offer, as they are all homemade and very high quality. The quality of the food is excellent. You can tell when the food tastes like homemade. Only complaint is that everyone knows how good it is so you can wait a bit to get seated, but once you are seated the service is exceptional. This is my new local favorite. Can't wait to bring my grandkids here to see the bakery selection.

Drove from Turlock because a family member told i just had to try it. Jantz did not disappoint not one bit. I can’t stop bragging about the food and good it tasted and the pies…better than any pie I’ve ever tasted. Customer service was exceptional.

No matter how busy they are, and trust me on Good Friday they were very busy at lunch time, the staff is always friendly and upbeat and the food is delicious. We were pleasantly surprised at how quickly we got our food with so many people in the restaurant. Everything is good I love that they have different soups every day. Today I tried the chili beans and it was the first time and they were fabulous. I had the Golden State burger and it was delicious and my friend had the BLT and baked beans and she was very happy with her meal. I never hesitate to refer people to Jantz, especially the Atwater location. Thank you for all you do for us and the community.

Every time I come, I get greeted and feel like I’m home. It’s such a homey environment which is hard to find. Normally, when going out to eat, it feels rushed as to get the next guests ready for the eating experience. However, at Jantz, they are patient and very welcoming.
