Welcome to Congregation Brewery & Cocina, we are your local best craft brewery, cocina and specialty sports bar. We keep true to our rich history when it comes to brewing craft beer. A local brewery since 2013 and a restaurant since 2010. Our restaurant is anything but an ordinary gastro pub, we have infused our menu with traditional and non-traditional dishes that will keep you coming back for more.
Our craft beer is brewed locally in Azusa California in our Azusa facility and is then distributed to our other locations.
Let us help you celebrate your special event, gather with your friends for a round of beers or spend a day cheering for your favorite team as you enjoy some craft beers or cocktails with your sports fans.
Heard of this place and gave it a try. I was happy I did! This place was better than I thought. Our waitress was so nice and very attentive. My friend got a light beer which she enjoyed and I got a margarita flight. I was expecting 3 drinks but I got 5 and they were allllll yummy π I ordered their aguachile and it was very good. My friend got the chicken fajitas and it was ALOT of food and smelt delicious. I would go back to try that dish. I'm giving this place 4 stars I would want to go back and try other things. I did go on a Monday at 5 so there was no people. I would want to see what it's like on a busy day. Overall I enjoyed this place and will be back.

Good beer selection, a seltzer and cider or two, full bar for cocktails. Nice happy hour and weekday deals (Margarita Mondays is the best), good service, nice seating and whatnot too.
Love the spooky vibes decorations for October.

As other reviewers have said about this place, the music is played way too loud. It's tough to hear someone sitting across the table for you. The food was good but the beer seemed off. I ordered a hazy IPA that for some reason tasted like a Belgian beer. Also tried a sip of my wife's pale ale but that was also not the flavor I was expecting. What I can say is that our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She really made the experience better for us. Also 9 dollars for a pint of beer is pretty expensive. Where I live most are about $7.50

This was a Cinco de Mayo stop in after a hike in the canyon. My waitress Xochitl (I hope she forgives me if the spelling isn't quite right) was kind and helpful. It's nice to get someone who is really excellent at what they do. I had a Latitude 33 beer that was very tasty, and the La Pitza with carnitas was bomb! The other staff were very friendly and helpful as well. I will definitely be back to this gem!

Friendly bartender, $5 tasty margaritas, scored some free house made chicharrones, couldn't be happier. Happy hour till 6pm daily, then late night happy hour starting at 9pm, all day happy hour on Thursdays. Excited to try out their food next time I'm able to, the chicharrones + salsa were tasty!

This is a great place for hangouts. It would be a great plus if they can open earlier during the day... Parking: Street parking can be a hassle; and the parking lot in the back are usually packed at dinner hours to late evenings. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.

So I decided to go here my daughter and her friends sing karaoke last night. Atmosphere, service, and drinks were great. KARAOKE GUY IN CHARGE... This is called karaoke, not an open mic. You pick and choose who you want to sing. I can say a lot more of what I saw from him and how uncomfortable he made some girls feel that they had to leave because of him. FYI, be fair with the mic and let everyone sing.

Excellent beer selection, food looked good. Literally could not hear anything the server said because of the music. I went outside where the volume was loud but tolerable. No menu, link led to download that didnt work or took so long I gave up. I may try again. But not if the club atmosphere continues. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access, though inside might be tight on a crowded night

My second (and LAST) time to go here. Way overpriced, $9 for most pints, $8 even for a cheapo Modelo. Most appetizers start at $13 or $14 and go up to the high 20s. Went on a Thursday night, and the sign outside literally says thirsty Thursday all day happy hour pricing. Then I was told that s only certain beers. Staff is friendly, but whoever runs the place needs to get real with pricing and transparency

This place used to be so great. It was a local tap and brew house with great food and a chill vibe. Lately the vibe isn t vibing. We had a drink and then decided to take it across the street to Dog Haus where it s more chill. The biggest issue is that it s LOUD. We had a big, noisy table next to us not the problem. The problem was that the football game started and they felt the need to put the volume louder than the table next to us. Our server couldn t hear our order so what we got was wrong. They were attentive but when they spoke, we couldn t hear them. It s a small place, you could hear people from across the room. It doesn t need to be a club volume on a Sunday afternoon. Anyway, it used to be great and they would deeply benefit by going back to that.

Minimal at best vegetarian options. Beer selection has also decreased from its early days. They could cut costs by not automatically giving everyone pork rinds as an appetizer.

First time here. This was the WORST service Ive ever experienced in any food service facility. Waitresses were definitely clueless and not to smart. Ordered a blond beer from 1st waitress. Ten minutes later 2nd waitress stops at table & asks if we want a beer. Told her I ordered a blond beer & been waiting. She said they dont have blond beer so ordered a different beer. Ten minutes later 3rd waitress stops and asks if we would like to order a beer. Said weve been waiting for beer order from 2 previous waitresses. Food order was similar to beer order. Daughter got her order first and mine came 15 minutes later. This place is a REAL JOKE!!!!!!!

I have been to this location a few times since the new ownership took over. The second time I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich ( diablo seasoning added $1 ) and it was not seasoned . The server didnt come back for a while and my sandwich was cold . I asked for a to go box ( maybe try to eat later) but I left it there. I just paid for it and left. I wont go back. The Pasadena location is a little better. My server was kind when I saw her, which was nice, but not worth the experience of an overcooked, unseasoned neal. McDonalds spicy crispy chicken is much better.

Food was alright, service was actually very good, if you need anything the servers are actually quite excellent. What ruins this place though is playing reggaeton music so loud that you have to shout at the person you are sitting next to. I think the owners forgot they own a Belgian style beer bar and not a nightclub. The new lights everywhere do nothing for the bar, but at least turn the music down so we can hear ourselves think and that can be forgiven.

Great stop on your way back from the Forest and the ambiance is amazing. The choice of brews at least during happy hour was a bit limiting but they offer you tasters to try out as many brews as you need to decide on your choice. Service was great, kept checking on us every few minutes but probably because it was still early on a Friday. Best time to beat the crowds is before 6 and the parking is easy. After that, no idea what the atmosphere is like but if its anything like during happy hour, you and your group will have a great time. They have indoors and patio and restrooms.

Extremely disappointed with the changes. In fact, my money is important to me so I will likely never be back. I would have never known there was a change in ownership until I walked in the door yesterday and was absolutely shocked in utter horror there is no large beer menu anymore up on the wall to gaze and admire and dream about the beer possibilities and even say a prayer before my beer were to arrive. There is no longer an old school church vibe. There is now a pink/purple ridiculous neon glow all over the walls. It feels really hoochie mama inside. Like who would want to drink a beer and eat a burger with a pink glow on everything? This doesnt feel like a brew pub or a church themed brew pub at that. The new owners messed up big time by changing the look and feel. This was part of the enjoyment. Imagine if Islands kept their name but changed their Hawaiian themed look to Lebanese. It just doesnt make sense does it. I was tired and still mortified that I could no longer go up to the counter and order myself a beer, so we sat down hoping things would get better. Nope. Another part of the old Congregations draw was I didnt have to pay a 20% tip because I ordered at the register. The $12 burgers were awesome and something I looked forward to when I didnt have the ingredients to grill up my own. The new menu has $20 burgers. Thats quite a big leap and on top of that I now have to pay another $4 for the tip on that one burger. There you have it... The new owner DOUBLED the price of a burger from $12 to $24. You can literally throw a party for your frens and grill up burgers plus some beers for that same $24. Where are my fries to choose from? My sauces to choose from? These all made Congregation fun and different from the norm. I dont know man. After looking over the new menu still in shock and horror from the pink haze everywhere... we got up and left.

Service and food is so much better than when we first started going to Congregation! Bartender Chris and waitress Brooklyn are awesome! I always wanted to support the local ale house, but in the past I wasnt psyched on the old menu. New menu has some delicious seafood and vegan options now. My husband has loved their tacos and said the carne asada tacos tonight were excellent. I have always loved the cocktails with the Mint Palermo and Basil Gimlet topping the chart. My husband started with the Penecillin whiskey drink and finished with the congregation stout. Fun evening out in Azusa! We went in to watch the World Cup Womens Soccer game and had a blast. Also, we got to sample the new beer made by Congregations female brewer - La Muneca - it is a smooth, summer ale!

Rarely do I leave a bad review but this place earned it Our server was nice but the service itself wasn t great. Should have expected it when we noticed typos on the menu We were of group of 8 with 3 kids and we ordered 2x chicken nachos, a chicken salad, wings, a kids pizza, and a burger. Out came one order of nachos, wings, and the burger. A little longer later they brought out a chicken sandwich which should have been a salad. At this time we added a 2nd kids pizza and they took the sandwich, then came back with the salad. Then came out the kids pizzas, both of them. Still no 2nd order of nachos. The kids pizzas though (see photo) was just burger buns with sauce and cheese .but the cheese wasn t even melted all the way! C mon now. At this time, we figured they didn t put down the 2nd order of nachos, which we were fine with because we wanted to leave. As everyone is finishing up their meals (except the kids pizzas, the kids didn t even want em) and we re about to ask for the check, they come out with the 2nd order of nachos! How d you bring out a chicken sandwich, swap it for a salad, and bring out two separate orders for the kids, wait another 20-30 mins, annnnd then bring out something that was ordered at the very beginning. The place definitely has potential but I guess the new owner hasn t tapped into it yet.

Changed owners and this place is not what it used to be, Im very sad. Dont get me wrong, the food is....good. This place has lost a lot, and is more expensive. Gone: truffle fries, diablo burger with the hot link sausage (it now has a weird sweet pepper jam, no sausage), the many dipping sauces including beer cheese sauce (which was also great on the nachos), many other items from the menu, the dark cozy atmosphere. They painted, so now its neither dark, nor bright. I miss the prepay counter serve where you got your beer right away. The burger was bigger but just not as good. The fries were marginally better. Really really disappointed in what it has become. Not sure I want to come back. DONT CHANGE WHAT ISNT BROKEN!!

Im pretty disappointed, this was one of my favorite places and now it feels like a poor imitation of itself. The food is completely different - it was amazing, now its fine. Well, I was severely disappointed this visit. The place changed their menu and now has table sevice. We went for their amazing burgers that are no longer on the menu. I opted to get a Cobb salad with carnitas. No flavor whatsoever. I had to ask for additional dressing. My wife had fish tacos. Again flavorless. The tortilla was raw and not heated and the fish scorched her mouth. Holding the cold taco you would have no idea the fish was extremely hot. Sorry to see a great burger place turn to mediocrity. Old review: Flipping awesome. A brewery with air conditioning AND food. Really good food. I had whee classic burger for lunch and it was perfect.

Was up in this area visiting a client and saw this driving by. Place was totally empty at 1:00pm on a Wednesday afternoon. I had the fish tacos and I would not get those ever again. Tasted like frozen fish sticks. Theres some sort of cream sauce but its really isnt very flavorful. Dish comes with COLD chips and nothing else. I asked for salsa not only to jazz up the fish taco but to dip the chips into something other than eating them dry. Waiter comes back with a very small sample of salsa. At least the chips could have been warm. Overall I was NOT impressed. Not sure Id come back. There is a very lively Mexican food place a couple of doors down - I think Ill try that next time.

Update 3/2023: wow this place is not what it used to be. Complete overhaul in the worst way. Nachos felt underdressed, pizza was still solid, but the full table service just added so much time to wait to get food instead of when you used to order at the counter. Also the beer list is now only above the patio doors, meaning if you want to know whats on tap, you either have to look behind you or get up and walk over to it. Such a bummer. Great selection of foods, elevated pub fare done right -- not fussy, just quality. The warm pretzels are a must. The beer list is extensive, but the crown jewel of it is their house beers brewed on site, Dark of The Covenant is probably my favorite dark beer out of anywhere. They do great little beer tasting flights too which is fun and can be great if youre just getting into craft beer.

Casual brewery with plenty of beer options and some food options. Came here at 11:30am on a Saturday post-hike and there was a short line, but plenty of seating. Indoor and outdoor seating available. You order at the counter and then they ll bring your food out, but there s no table service otherwise. There is a water dispenser where you can self-service your water. The employee who helped us mentioned that a lot of people come here after hiking nearby, so you wouldn t be out of place wearing workout clothes. There was only her and someone in the kitchen so there was a bit of a wait, but thats totally understandable given the state of the current restaurant industry. She forgot to put in our order for an atomic sausage, but it s all good. We split some nachos and added carnitas; there wasn t a lot of meat, but I did like the beer cheese. They have vegetarian and vegan options available.

Great covid safety protocols, drinks were strong and tasty! I had the wings, they were spicy but so much flavor. Also had the fried chicken sandwich, flaky, soft but with a crunch.. chicken was juicy! Definitely recommend

Tl; Dr I dont know much about pubs but def recommend for a small hang out with friends I dont know much about pubs or beers but I enjoyed it regardless thanks to great foods that they have!! I was able to take an advantage of a happy hour (which is all day on Monday). Would def recommend carnitas fries and rapture tots. They also have a tasting option for beers only for $1 during happy hour (its only like a sip or two). If you are like me, I would recommend you to get it so you dont feel awkward while your friends drink. Overall great experience!

Been here a couple times this last time we stopped by after a hike to grab a beer. It was a Saturday afternoon the place was nice a quiet. We ordered a burger it was okay the tater tots are good. The beer selection is good and its rotates so you get different beers all the time, which is kind of cool. Overall I like the place the prices are fair and the atmosphere is laid back.

Got some to go beer, served in a paper can and it hit me before the second can was done, it poured back out of the wrong end. After spending 60$ on a six pack i asked for some of the money back and was rudely denied and offered more free beer. Should wash their hands before serving.

Horrible time. They messed up our order, fbecause they gave it to someine else by accident. 30 minutes for a salad and tacos. Not even an apology. I could have understood if they were apologetic, maybe throw in a free beer, appetizer, a discount, etc.. But no!! Never again.

Congregation Ale house is a top notch brewery and dining experience. They offer many craft beers on tap. Dark of the covenant is one of the many that I tried. It was a wonderful tasting brew. A darker full bodied rich taste with hints of citrus aromas. The decor is modern and comfortable. Its very easy to pass the time away while sipping nice cold drinks and having conversation with friends. The food is excellent! I tried the pub style fish and chips. Fish was fried perfect and a good crunch. The fries were very good with the way they had a light seasoning. I also had a gourmet pretzel. It was so fresh and soft! Not too much salt on it either, it comes with a side of pub cheese. All the bread is baked in house using some of the yeasts from the beer. It is the softest most delicious bread Ive ever had. I give Congregation a 5 stars on my list. Ive been many places with my travels. I will definitely be back here again.

We went for lunch and has an assortment of burgers. I had the prime rib with the California side and tots with the ranch dip and garlic aioli dip. The salad we had prior comes with some toasted soft bread that had a nice pizza flavor to it. Nice touch. The burger is not huge, so no worries there. The tots are enough for two so get something else and share. I have had tots from other places, but these were spot on as far perfectly cooked and the dips are just terrific to dip into. So much better than anything else. The burger was cooked to a nice medium and even the bacon was crisp. Most places are limp and dull. Here it was done well. Overall the food was very good. The bang for the buck is not the best as one person for food alone with no drink is $20. A bit on the high side for a burger and salad. However, this place is out of the way but worth giving it a try. If you are into beers, this is a nice place to try some new brews as well. The water is served yourself which is fine just confusing when you ask for water and it does not come. Nice find in Azusa.

Super chill & laid back place. A little pricey when it comes to the beer, but overall a sweet place. There s a nice outdoor area (pictured) where you can sit back, relax and enjoy your beer.

Way worse staff than the Pasadena location. The cashiers are rude, and one purposefully poured my beers with as much head as possible. She also told me I had to give her a dollar to try a beer. Shameful!

This ale house offers some of the finest beers on tap and a wide selection of specialty and craft beers in the bottle. Their pretzels are made fresh on location and accentuated by their gourmet dipping sauces. The broader menu offers some favorites that my kids enjoy, such as the Buffalo chicken wings and burgers. Other notable favorites for myself include the fried chicken sandwich, nachos, and gourmet pizza. The service is always fast and friendly, making this ale house an all-around winner.

The food is always great, but the place was under staffed. One girl was working the bar and the register and the other girl was running back and forth trying to keep up with the customers. I told them they are appreciated for their efforts but the place needs more staff.

The food and drinks are delicious my only complaint would be a bigger meat option. Thats my one and only complaint. The service was excellent the restaurant was clean the restroom was also clean and needed no attention. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some really good food the burgers are good and the fries are delicious. Good place for friends or a date. Definitely will be coming back.
