Rakuten Ramen

Food and service was great!
We had the beef ramen, Rakuten 88, tonkotsu miso ramen and my son had the kaarage kid meal. We were satisfied with everything. My husband really enjoyed his ramen.
We liked their lemonade green tea and Thai tea. Everyone was very attentive, even the owner came to ask how we were doing and if everything was good.

Location; Good, Parking: Okay, Service, Okay, Presentation: Nice, Busy: Not really , Overall, This was a first-time visit, as I have been to many Ramen places I wanted to find out what was this had to offer. One plus was the addition of spice levels. Given a 1-6 choice, I felt I could adjust more to suit my taste. Next was the noodles, I felt these were a bit thicker than others in the area, which was a plus to me, and the broth tasted different as well. The service was okay. But could of been better when very few were there. I will go back just to up a level on spice and I did like the amount of noodles served in the dish. So for me 3.9 Stars...

Absolutely loved the food! Service is great and for all my children to love the food here says a lot about how delicious this place is. My kids are picky eaters but there was something good for all of them. From my 2 yr old to 13yr old. We will definitely save this location to continue to go again when in the area. Delicious ramen I’ve ever eaten! I tried other ramen places but no one can beat this one. The broth alone, the noodles, the meat, everything! so good! The place is a hidden gem in Azusa and a must try should you crave for ramen.

My favorite is Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen while my husband is the Rakuten 88 level 5. We never get tired of coming to this place and I bet you won’t too once you try it!

I had a taste for Ramen and after a search on google this place came up so I thought why not?

The service was really good, not too much and not too little attention.

Enjoyed the dumplings and the Tori misu Ramen with thin noodles. They offer a heat level between 1-6 I got 2 and it was just right.

It's the first drive thru ramen place in the area. Spicy level can be adjusted. Very friendly service and plenty of parking and seating. There's vegetarian option.

Absolutely loved the food! Service is great and for all my children to love the food here says a lot about how delicious this place is. My kids are picky eaters but there was something good for all of them. From my 2 yr old to 13yr old. We will definitely save this location to continue to go again when in the area. tried drive thru, waited 15 mins and no one took my order, i figured they were busy because there were 2 cars in front of me. i ended up leaving because it was taking so long and i saw that there was NO CAR at the window ??? i don t know what s up with that but this is the second time this happened to me

Amazing food!! The Bao buns were absolutely massive! The ramen broth was delicious and the noodles were perfect! The amount of food was perfect as well! I got 1 ramen bowl (enough for 2 servings for a smaller person), 1 bao bun and an extra large Yuzu honey tea. Service was awesome! You can also order straight from your phone using QR codes at each table! Only reason I m giving 4 stars is because there wasn t a restroom that I saw. But other than that it was awesome!! Def 4.5 stars! (edit: they do have an outdoor restroom! 5 stars for sure!)

Our waitress Aubry was great. The owner even came to our table. To check on how our food was. Which was great. We has the pork gyoza, Katsu salad and the Popcorn Chicken Ramen.

Been coming here off and on for a few years now...finally getting to posting a picture and some info. Best place around for a good bowl of Ramen on a cold day. Their best and my favorite is the Rakuten 88. The wife and I both love this dish. Also we get an extra egg for each and I ask for spicy level 2. For those of you with a palet for more spice take it above that to a 4 or 5. Their Thai Tea is good Definitely recommend this place any time. Be patient it takes time for food prep...order online if ya dont want to wait. They have drive thru also but I also recommend ordering ahead online to reduce wait time.

Horrible customer service when asked about butter bun and what was in it the service said butter and rolled her eyes. We asked if there was any nuts or anything she got irritated and said she didn t know we asked if she could check and she rolled her eyes again and turned and walked away. Will never go back here again when they first open the service was good now it s not worth wasting your time.

This ramen is very tasty. Its always hearty. This place does have the worst service i believe due to the drive thru. They get backed up and it seems like inside customers get poor service. Aside from that this place is good in the winter time. karagi fried chicken is so good. If you come here just know the service sucks.

I come here around 3 times a month and have been eating at this place since 2019. I have not had ONE bad experience with a server until today September 3rd! Me and my stepdad walk in and sit down at a table and the server girl who looks new just plops our menus on the table without saying a word! Doesnt even say welcome or ask if she can get us any drinks, didnt even have a smile on her face she was so rude! Me and my stepdad decided to walk out, she really needs training in customer service, wont be back for a while.

This ramen place blows all others out of the water. The noodles are soft and the chasu is as well. The pork gyoza, takoyaki, and the Bao are always on point as well for appetizers.I always come here with my family and the owner now greets us by name. Thank you Rakuten!

It have a drive-through. A really wholesome meal. I got the rakuten ramen, and red bean boa. It had mushroom, meat, and a soft boiled egg to give it a little more oomph!! It was flavorful! Service is excellent.

Best ramen spot! Im vegetarian and have tried so many ramen spots, bust most leave me disappointed. Not RAKUTEN!! The miso vegetarian ramen is a must get! The difference between level 5 spice and level 6 is significant. Also, you can ask for the spice on the side if you are hesitant and want to control the spice to your own liking. The thai tea here is also very delicious. If you have room for desert after, definitely get the mochi ice cream :)

Its really good food, but last time I ordered ramen with extra noodles and never got it. And make sure you have plenty of time if you order drive thru, youll be there for a while.

Never never go here again!!! We waited for 20 min in the drive thru at the order sign Cars honking as well. We try calling over and over and on the phone. They never answered My daughter went in asked if they could have them pull up The manager said no just wait. She told him we need to go he still said no wait After 25 min being completely ignored we drove over the curb to get out We have come here before and food is very good but not worth the up and down service. And have had to wait along time but this was beyond the rudest non caring experience ever Don t go here, aside from being overcharged many times and given the wrong order. This was the final straw

I ve given this places multiple chances I ve always tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt but the drive thru sucks and the manager has the worst costumer service. I ve gone inside a few times and have had some good experiences but it really depends on staff this lady worker is nice but some people are so rude I ve been mistreated so many times. There s times when other people are looked after more and I ve been completely ignored inside. Don t get me started on drive thru unless you wanna wait minimum 30 minutes don t go to it . They never have cars pull up and take an average of 15 minutes per car . I m done with it here I m sorry I hate saying that I always wanna give extra chances but the way majority of staff is rude with 1 nice worker isn t worth it food is good but the way it s run needs to be changed

Best ramen Ive ever had! Lots of toppings. Gluten free noodles offered. Very sweet waitress and even the manager came out to see how we were doing. Its too bad that a few angry people have pulled down the star average by a few anomalies. Five stars!!! Very worth the stop and definitely stopping again. November 4, 2022 Back again. This has become a special stop for us. I dare any place in the valleys to try to rival the Rakuten 88 soup dish. Perfection! Picture: this is what great ramen tastes like.

This place is horrible. I have tried to come here 4 times and it has never worked out. They have zero customers service skills and charge way too much, make you wait too long then open their hand to take your money when they make you wait an hour.

Hands down, the best ramen I have ever had. They have different varieties of ramen that even a picky eater would like. When the cold days start approaching, Im sure Ill be here every week. Oh, and not to mention, the staff is very sweet and friendly. They also have a drive-thru!

I ordered delivery and received an incomplete order with the items missing circled on the receipt stating out instead of being a decent business and attempting to offer alternatives or send something else in place. I feel completely robbed !! What a trash place !!!

This place is really good. They have a drive thru which not many places that sell ramen have. The service is always amazing and I love how kind they were with us. My niece loves their spicy tuna balls and everytime we dine in, the environment is pleasent. If you are near by, I highly recommend it.

The food was great! The service was awesome! Did drive thru. It did take longer than other fast food but we werent in a rush. Food is spicy but they ask you how hot do you want it (1-6). Friendly service. Will go back!!

This is the first time eat here. The only thing is, their restroom is located outside the store.Another thing is the waitress didnt ask me like the water or not then she gave us 2 cups of ice water.The food is ok.

Im becoming extremely disappointed in this place. About 3 months ago I first went and I have to say the food was amazing. I love how its prepared and separated to be eaten nice and hot at home. However tonight has been the second night that I arrive hoping to get some food. The Open sign is on with two cars visibly in the drive through getting food so I go and im told were closed. Why is the sign on. Aside from that because of the other two vehicles I had to backup out of the drive through. Very annoying experience

DONT BUY A GIFT CARD!!!!!!!! I was given a couple of gift cards as a thank you. In the last month I have tried to use at least one of those cards and I have been told that their system is being changed over and it should be ready soon. Well its been over a month and they are still not accepting gift cards. They continue to say they are changing over their system. ALSO I asked them how much longer and they said that they dont know. I questioned a day, a week, a month and the individual said yes and maybe longer. I said, 6 months? She said yes. I said this is really bad business and she agreed but told me to check back in a month, maybe it will be up then. Too Bad, I have a value of $60 of gift cards and they are worth $0 at this point.

They need to figure out their drive-thru process. Ive had issues on more than one occasion at the drive-thru. The drive-thru should be for pick-up only, especially during dinner rush. Ramen isnt fast food so if you order at the speaker, it will take 15-20 minutes to prepare. If someone orders at the speaker, please make them wait in a parking spot so they do not hold up the line. Today they made us sit for 30mins waiting for cars ahead of us to wait for their orders, while ours was already finished (because we called ahead). And to top it off, when we got to the window, they had given our order away. Will not be ordering here anymore.

A little annoyed.. my order was just cancelled today 07/16/21 via UberEats. I m in meetings all day, have a small baby, and don t have time to go out and grab food today. Sometimes Uber eats is the only option. I scheduled this in advance. My Uber driver changed twice waiting for Rakuten to fulfill my order. I have a meeting at 1PM. Guess I m skipping lunch today. I see now they ve turned off the option to order, even for pick up.

Let me tell you this place does not hold back. Yes its a bit small but the quality of the food makes up for what it looks like. The ramen was amazing to be a classic with a heat level of 4 out of 6. The pork gyoza was great and the takoyaki was nice and hot. Overall will be coming back without a doubt.

My boyfriend and I are regulars to this place and weve never received a bad meal. Sometimes it takes long to go through the drive thru but it is always worth it. The ramen here is incredible. My boyfriend gets the Rakuten 88 level 4 spicy and I love the tonkotsu shoyu ramen at a level 3. Definitely get an extra egg too, so good!! The staff are always friendly too, overall a wonderful place to go to!

Order a ramen and it only came with noodles broth and egg. I called the restaurant back and the lady just blamed me. So not worth it, $9 for just broth, noddles and egg. Your better off just going to Ramen Naruto down the street. Normally go there but they were closed today.

The food was really good. I didnt believe this type of cuisine could be offered in a drive through because it takes longer to make than typical fast food meals, but they pulled It off! Honestly, it took a bit longer than your average drive through restaurants, but not too bad and well worth the wait.

I used the drive thru and chose some appetizers and a chicken curry bowl. Menu items are pricey but the food taste great. I havent tried any ramen noodles so maybe next time. The drive thru employee man was very nice and helpful.

Finally, an above average Ramen in my area and its drive-thru. I worked in Downtown and now the Westside and Ive had excellent Ramen. Needless to say there werent any Ramen places Ive tried in my neighborhood that came close and mostly disappointed, until Rakuten. To be transparent, Ive only had the Rakuten 88, I mean if what you order is constantly good, why change your order. They gyozas are pan fried which I prefer and not deep fried. Oh and the to go packaging is great. The top tray of the container had all of the add-ins and the broth was below.

This place has outdone themselves during Covid. They have made drive through ramen not only possible but demonstrated kindness and generosity to my family. Gave a Yakult to my son while we were waiting. And was impressed with the high quality bamboo chopsticks and packaging. Also, for the whole family they have much more than Ramen. Chicken Katsu and crinkle cut french fries work for kiddos, and their Katsu chicken avocado salad is a good option.

Food is good but they are horribly slow especially in drive through. You think they would plan for a rainy day rush. Ive been in the drive through line over an hour as im typing this. Unacceptable

Great ramen place... they made a mistake with my order today which happens when you re busy. I called them and they fixed it right away and offered to drive it to me. Excellent customer service and very friendly staff!

Did not mind the wait. Food was delicious and the employees very polite and grateful for my business. Im hispanic and did not know what to get but the person taking my order told me to ask if I needed help. I ended up getting the Popcorn Chiken Ramen, spicy level 5. Delicious! Coming back for sure. Thank you!

My husband and i were tired and hungry. i am gluten intolerant therefore ,i have to be careful what i order. (drive thru) the gentlemen who was taking the order was not familiar with this and asked the manager to complete the order taking. When we arrived home (1/2 hour drive), we found the first part of our order was not in the bag. this was upsetting. I called the restaurant and explained what happened. The manager called me back and apologized and immediately offered to bring us the missing items. after hanging up I looked for the receipt and saw, we were only charged for what we did receive. I tried calling the manager back, the phone was busy and before I could reach them, he was at my door delivering the items plus drinks. I offered to pay and he would not take the money. yes, there was a mistake in taking the order (due to multiple people) but, this is a man with integrity. he did not lose a customer but he definitely made one. and YES, by the way; the food was excellent!! thank you this world needs more honorable people as yourself!! I highly recommend this establishment!!

A drive through Ramen spot is a fast way to grab good noodles! I tried pork belly and It was tender and seasoned perfectly. Spicy seasoning on the side was a plus

This is probably the first time I ve ever wrote a review but I owe em the love one time. Service was exceptional. Food and price was great. They have that new business hussle and they re on top of it. Dude in the drive thru was super nice, even gave me a free soda for waiting (even though I only waited a couple minutes extra). First time here but I ll definitely be back. Gotta support the real ones.

We ordered online. All of it was very good. What impressed us the most was the online ordering experience. It was very easy to customize each order. The food was ready for pickup in only 15 minutes. I went through the drive thru to pick it up, and almost didnt even have to stop. It was all ready to go. The best part was that, not only was the ramen very good, but they got everything exactly as we ordered it! Even the picky eater of the family was happy.
