Comfortable with delicious food and coffee. Still actually reasonable priced compared to nearby places. Only problem is it seems like youre bothering the baristas. But its Bakersfield, service is just bad here everywhere

Steer clear of this hotel cafe. Nothing they make is good. The service is terrible and extremely slow. The last time I went, I just decided to leave without my tea, because who expects a cup of tea to take more than 10 minutes? They need to get additional help at the very least to get orders out faster. Another woman came downstairs while I was waiting for my tea, she ordered her coffee 30 minutes earlier through room service, and it still wasn t ready. They had to make it for her on the spot. It s ridiculous. They also need to hire a new chef because whoever is making the food back there isn t doing a great job.

The Elvis French toast was exceptional. The eggs were well prepared in the style in which we ordered them. Bacon was very good. Portions were generous and the service was friendly. They run out of items. By 8:30 AM they were out of French toast and biscuits with gravy. So if you want one of those items I d say come early. Cafe is inside of a hotel and street parking was available for free out front. We would return.

Ok everyone! This cafe is the place to grab a coffee and a delicious foods! I recently stayed at the Padre hotel and I happened to have a small gathering in the cafe and they had huge long tables to accommodate my party with no fuss or hassle. Kaitlyn( manager) and her morning staff are amazing and helpful, patient and genuine. They helped us make our experience eating and relaxing in the cafe. Just gave our party such a great start to the day! Big thx to Kim and Kaitlyn and her whole stuff!! See you guys again! Jeff Soto

The breakfast here is absolutely FIRE! I ordered the Elvis French Toast. It had Bacon, Peanut Butter and Banana slices. That was the best French Toast I have ever had. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access at both main entrances.

In an era of wildly inflated restaurant prices, it s hard to be satisfied with your dish arriving cold and your eggs undercooked despite 3 attempts by the cook. Coffee and matcha latte were pretty decent though.

Ive been here a couple of times and have always been greeted by the barista and service was quick. Very spacious and places to sit The only down side from my experience is the lack consistency every time I get my coffee.

Coffee was good - but it s the first time in my life I had an espresso in a mug Food is ok but our order took a long time to prepare. Not happy with the service, one of the girls was simply rude and should not be working in hospitality IMHO or needs to up her customer service skills.

Meanwhile @ the Farmacy Cafe located inside the Padre Hotel a perfect coffee experience happened. I decided to slither in to the Farmacy Cafe to process emails and phone messages alike. I ve had a cup already and try to limit myself but in ordering a blah day sugar cookie, I asked for an Italian style Capp. Best Cappuccino since I had access to both machine and my choice of roaster. It s actually better and climbing the charts for the best to be completely candid. Avery is only a kid yet compliments the industry with a true fervor for creating the perfect coffee experience. A dyed in the wool professional. Already a master barista by my standards. Just watching his expert tamp and pour stepped up Bakersfield s coffee status in my humble opinion. If you like coffee and have history with coffee shops as a business, the lesson will humble you as well. I didn t have to wait but a couple minutes and I would stand in a long line for this coffee. The most excellent customer service was the b-day party sprinkles on a craft sugar cookie. He brings his own equipment to step up the game here. Pretty impressive this day and age. Service industry has hope after all. Avery loves his work and we are fortunate that it s Coffee.

The staff ignore you as you wait to place your order at the counter. Avocado toast was lame (egg had clear goo and it was all tasteless) but the unfriendly atmosphere is enough to keep me away in the future.

Would never come back. Rude and unprofessional staff. Attempted to order a cup of coffee. I was ignored. Another lady walks up and they immediately provide her service. I politely said she could go next and waited. They make in his 20 s with the tattoo on the back of his left arm refuses to acknowledge or serve me. I have no idea what I did to make them treat me so horribly. I will not be coming back here to patronize this hotel or this coffee shop. They should take lessons from the staff next door.

Sad. We got there we waited at the front of the bar of the Cafe itself for 10mins waiting for service. The person comes out and asks us do you need anything? Welp. If Im here I probably want some coffee or a drink. We told them some coffee. Didnt notice but on my receipt they charged me for a shot of espresso when it should be included in a dirty chai. If you google the definition of a dirty chai it comes with shot. Then I was charged with Oat Milk and I had no idea that would be an extra charge. They also used Tazo Chai Late......Im confused there isnt that pre-made already ready to drink?!? Lolz Our shots were not pulled correctly and over extracted. Its a really cute place and its beautiful inside but the quality of coffee is not good.

Review №29

Whoever is reviewing this place highly must not have taste buds. The misses and I wanted to try something new and after spending $46 on breakfast we literally took like couple bites and left 97% of our food sitting on the plate. The eggs sucked, bacon might as well have been jerky, the chorizo tasted like dof food. Almost puked after trying it. The potatos were good and the coffee was good also but for $46 this place was absolutely not worth it at all. Will never return again.

Clean and well presented. Food is good. Make sure you understand that the Avocado Smash, despite it being pricey and the most attractive item on the menu, is actually an appetizer. It is a single slice of bread with avocado, bacon crumbles and egg. You ll need to order two to gain a semblance of satiety.

Located in The Padre Hotel downtown, tasty casual breakfast stop. The area is sketchy, so take your belongings and lock your car doors. Strong espresso and satisfying food. Breakfast sandwich was super filling and highly recommended. The chorizo skillet was egg heavy and mediocre. The joint lost points because we specifically ordered the french toast with fresh berries and after a long wait for all of our food, they brought out pancakes. Bottled drinks and grab and go items available as well.

Nothing unique, and its safe to say it benefits tremendously from its location as opposed to its own merits. With the trendy cafe smitten down the street and stalwart dagnys, and of course the filling station - you can do better.

Delicious food! Great ambiance! What a neat place to visit! This hotel is 1928 RETRO and super pretty with original/remade decorative ceilings, marble staircase and an elegant vibe. Our server was attentive and THE COFFEE HERE IS PERFECT. I eat healthy and was served a BIG bowl of fruit with my gluten-free breakfast bowl. The food was yummy. If you like salty you may need to add a little. The wait time was somewhat long but we were not in a rush. I was so happy to find a delicious place to eat that didnt break my belly while traveling. Will return tomorrow!

I had their fantastic and, frankly, huge breakfast burrito. Almost more food than I needed. My boyfriend enjoyed their coffee. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and polite and the other employee, who was off the clock at the time and was grabbing lunch, offered many helpful suggestions for what to order. It was a nice, casual place to enjoy a good breakfast.
