Spencer's Cafe

The food was pretty good and our waitress was VERY FRIENDLY. But overall the place felt very sterile and dull. While waiting for our turn, some people would just walk in and seat themselves with our checking in, and others had to be added to the wait list. The employees were kind, but it just left like everybody hated being there. It just felt like whoever was working got called in on their day off. Haha
The food was warm and okay, but for me I probably wouldn't recommend or go back.

The service was great the place is clean and nice the food was good but just plan no wow factor or flavorful biscuit and gravy was ok I think they changed it used to be outstanding but now was average price was ok reasonable overall just average place silverware was dirty had to change it but it happens sometimes

My family and I have been going here for a bit now. Customer service is great, food is always good on point. We have rarely experience anything wrong with the food. Good prices for the amount of food you get on your plate. Great kids menu too.

Garbage place, garbage employees. Waited for 40 minutes to then not be seated due to tables not being big enough for 6 people. Hold up.. 5 people, 1 infant. How the hell are tables not big enough for that? I swear this is straight up Smooth brain Activities, I hate Bakersfield, especially this cafe now.

Great food is served here. Spencer’s is definitely on the top ten list in Bakersfield to eat breakfast at.
Having three restaurants in Bakersfield all serving great food is a feat, hats off to the owner’s and management.
I ordered the French toast combo. It comes with 2 eggs, choice of bacon or sausage. It was good and so was the coffee.
They also have a large patio for dinning.

My family and I have been going here for a bit now. Customer service is great, food is always good on point. We have rarely experience anything wrong with the food. Good prices for the amount of food you get on your plate. Great kids menu too.

We had a great breakfast here. They gave my toddler some crayons and a kids menu. Food came out quick and tasted great. They have comfortable booths and the servers were all sweet to my kids. The place was getting really busy as we were leaving so come early to avoid a crowd

Such a great place to eat. I had my usual biscuit breakfast plate, and as usual couldn't finish it, the portions are so big. I give Spencer's a huge thumbs up, don't miss out.

I been there several times and is always nice and everyone is friendly,but today our Waitress Aliyah was lil rude and a mad face. Never offered us a refill on drinks and her voice tone did sound mad. I'm definitely going to be back just because their food is so good and this is the first time We had a bad experience. I Just hope this never happens again.

I don't eat out often, but I wanted to get a late breakfast. I live near this Spencer's. There was a 20-minute wait at 10:30 on a Saturday, but it went fast. My biggest problem was the waitress wasn't mindful of us. First, I'm obviously a senior, but when I ordered off the senior menu, I got the full plate, I couldn't eat it all, and I paid for a regular portion. I told the waitress. She shrugged and said, "I'm sorry, I guess I should've asked." I let it slide. Also, I asked for fruit instead of potatoes, and we had a little discussion about what fruit was available. But, she forgot, and by the time we saw her, she was bringing the check.

I had French toast and eggs, hold the meat, and my son had a sausage scramble. The food overall was good. I think I could've been more of a squeaky wheel, but honestly, I didn't feel like working for my food.

Four out of the 5 of us liked our breakfast.. The ribeye breakfast was too dry. The waitress saw that my dad barely ate his breakfast and offered to remove the meal from the tab. Our waitress was great!

The food was okay. Service was okay. I didn't like the industrial feel to the atmosphere. It seemed like the pictures were like the old west but all the black paint felt more like a converted warehouse. Not very friendly or inviting.

I went to Spencer’s Cafe for the first time today. I ordered a Santa Fe Salad for takeout. I was very disappointed in the salad. It was a basic chicken, tomato, cheese and lettuce salad. It did not have the tortilla strips, red onion and green onion has described on the menu. I asked for guacamole and sour cream which are options to add and I received neither. ☹️

Very unprofessional, will not be visiting this location again. Door was open I walked in, asked if I could see a menu she said “ummmm ok but we close at 2:30” I looked at the time and it was 2:50 WTH does her response mean?
it’s either yes u can place an order or no , not “ummmmm ok but we close at 2:30” how about “I’m sorry sir unfortunately we left the door open accidentally after we closed but we are closed and no longer taking orders at this time please visit us tomorrow” a rude response can lose u business one customer at a time.

Spencer's is where it's at. Breakfast, lunch, fast/prompt service in a laid back environment. I've never had a meal here that didn't satisfy me, everything is good and nicely portioned. If by chance you've never been to one of the three locations, you're missing out!

Worst service and food I ever had at Spencer's. My server implied she was too busy to check on us after dropping the food off, but I saw her check on certain tables more then once. I work in food service; that was not a busy restaurant. I brought the problem up, the manager and server seemed annoyed I complained. I'm paying 60+ with tip for a meal for 2 and one the meals is cold and soggy, I'm going to be upset.

Absolutely LOVE their breakfast. Husband and I have decided this is our regular breakfast place. The bacon and breakfast potatoes are to die for. Prices are reasonable, staff are friendly. There is always a wait, but I think that’s a good sign of how good their food is. Usually we get seated pretty quickly!

We had the breakfast here and it was delicious, we had the biscuits and gravy and spam and eggs and the Denver omelet, the portions we're more than enough for us to take the leftovers home and eat the rest of the day, the country potatoes were delicious and had a plenty of flavor 😋, the spam was amazing amd the Denver omelet had big chunks of real bacon 🥓 !!!

My grandson and I ate there Monday and food was terrible fries were cold n food had no flavor it took a while to get our food n only 1 person in restaurant not impressed with employee sleeping in chair right across from our table not ever goin to eat there again 35$ for a gross meal that left my grandson sick for hrs 😡I used to like this place.

Nice, Megan our Waitress was an Angel she was rt/ on it.. Reslly w/o asking & she did ask, but she was very cordial I haven't had a waitress like her and very very long time the only thing that was bad there was the bathrooms need to be cleaned and there was no toilet paper I asked three times for toilet paper and nobody feels the toilet dispensers other than that everything was nice and enjoyable..

This restaurant is excellent. I just came to breakfast with my parents. While it was packed, we were on the wait list for about 10 minutes. They are short staffed, but the gals are positive and moving quickly. Food came in just a few minutes and was delicious. I recommend the Chile Verde Skillet. Thanks guys!
