Taco Bros

Hadn’t been to taco bros since 2021 when they were at the old location and I frequently traveled to Bakersfield for work. Their food was really good then so I used to go all the time. Don’t know what happened but I did not like the Mexican pizza with shrimp that I got this time. Overcooked, super salty shrimp. Soggy tortilla layer. $30 for the 12-inch pizza was so not worth it. I remembered it was good before which is why I got it again. Won’t be coming back. Service was not friendly or attentive, probably due to poor sound quality of their speaker system or something. I liked the food I got at Birria Bros more so will give their Mexican pizza a try.

I’ve never met someone as sweet as her. If you ever go to taco Bros, which you should highly recommended every food item on the menu is delicious and you can thank me later. The customer service at this place is by far one of the best customer service I’ve ever had. Thank you for the food and thank you for the service. This taco/pasta/burger spot is incredible. The food is fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. You can just taste the quality of the ingredients he uses! Update July 2024: I love this place. Couldn't find a complete menu so came here to update to a more complete menu. Added new pictures. As I read over other reviews, I can only speak of my experience & it has been fantastic. Sure it's a wait (but worth it to me), CS has been good & Chef Allen is nice to talk to. Let me be honest, I'm not here for the CS as much as I for their Pastas! Which brings me to my next and last point. I see a pattern on all the low star reviews, they are all reviewing other items (Not Pasta). I ONLY come for the pastas. Lifer Here 🙋🏻‍♀️🌟🤙🏼

The pasta now is good but I purchased two birria ramens today and I thought it was honestly disgusting. It’s sooo chunky there’s absolutely no broth to it. I poured it into a bowl to see if there may be broth at the bottom but no . It literally felt and looked like pudding. Also asked for onion and cilantro on one and got 2 pieces of the stem of cilantro and 1 piece of diced onion. I did try to call to see if we can fix the issue but no answer so having to drive back to the restaurant in the morning since I forgot my receipt at home. Hopefully there’s something that can be done. Will update review after but my last review here was 5 stars a year ago on birria tacos. Can’t believe how the quality of the birria has went down. I used to love it here even when they were in downtown. The drive thru associate was super nice but quality of food is 0 on any other items to me. Passion fruit water is 🔥!! Also came back in next day and customer service was phenomenal didn’t catch her name but she was super friendly. She had blonde hair with some shade of blue or purple in her hair. Also recommended some breakfast so will try that.

Food is great, and the girls that work there are really nice and deserve all the praise. My problem with this place is I drive a ways to get there because my people love the pasta. You should really change the fact that you are not open until 11 pm that’s cap. You close at 10. Maybe people in your neck of the woods are aware of that, but if you plan to keep customers from everywhere not just locally, you might want to have your hours of operation online changed from 11pm to 10 pm please and thank you.

Taco Bros is my all time favorite place to eat in Bakersfield. The workers are always so generous & nice! My recent visit, they were very busy, but the chef was very kind and brought out some chips & dip, pasta and cake for me to try for the wait! 2000/10, Thank you chef Alantino & staff at Taco Bros 💗

The food is ok, I bought the birria balls the order showed on the menu picture it was 2 balls, once I got my order it was only one ball … once I brought it to their attention they didn’t care they just said we’re sorry its one ball per order… total rip off 5$ for 1 ball?!!

Food is great, and the girls that work there are really nice and deserve all the praise. My problem with this place is I drive a ways to get there because my people love the pasta. You should really change the fact that you are not open until 11 pm that’s cap. You close at 10. Maybe people in your neck of the woods are aware of that, but if you plan to keep customers from everywhere not just locally, you might want to have your hours of operation online changed from 11pm to 10 pm please and thank you.

Since opening of your old location on 24th Street, there been numerous copycat restruants trying to cook Birrias as well as you do but no one has ever exceeded. Excellent food and service! We had pasta Alanito, pasta Alfredo, birria tacos, chips and cheese sauce, spinach dip, chocolate (Nutella?) cheesecake, and Mac and cheese balls. Chef Alanito was fantastic! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re passing through Bakersfield!

Update 10/2/24: The nachos fries are great. They also make pasta dishes and offer chicken sandwiches now spicy or regular. I love the shrimp burrito here too. Had another shrimp burrito with chicken and Asada and it was off the chain delicious as I had always remembered.

I loved the food and the service was good 👍 I ordered mild chicken tostada and it somehow came out spicy again. My wife can't handle spicy food and this was the second time ordering mild and it came out spicy. She is very disappointed. I love spicy food so I was pleased. I don't think she will be back

I had my 30 minute lunch just went right now through drive thru they took 25 minutes to give me just one taco for my order I told the girl to give me consome and I was driving off checked didn’t have the consome I had to pack and waste more time knocked on the window and she gave me the cup and when I open it it’s avacado !!! I’m allergic to avacado!! Never coming back!!!!

I've never been disappointed by anything on the menu, which just keeps growing. The owner/cook is awesome! He brings out samples and chats with people while they wait for their food and is just really friendly. Hands down one of my favorite places to eat. I would definitely suggest the Birria tacos, shrimp fries and any of the pasta dishes!

I really hate writing bad reviews, but when the business practices are bad, people should know. This was my second time here and my last. The first time, I thought the food was okay but could give it another chance.

Tonight, I ordered via drive-thru and was grossly overcharged. After reviewing the receipt, I questioned why they prices on the receipt were higher ($2/taco higher) than the display price, Hailey stated that there is a disclaimer somewhere on the sign that says something about the prices are subject to change. Blah blah blah. She offered the managers number and said there is nothing she can do for me. Without other options, I accepted the food and left.

If the business can't advertise correctly and hides behind some lame disclaimer that is posted inconspicuously on a busy menu board, what else are they hiding? Shady business practices.

And to top it off, the food wasn't impressive, again.

Do yourself a favor and support businesses that are honest and won't pull a "bait and switch" on their customers.

Came to this place for the Birria ramen which was amazing I had it before, then the owner hooked us up with a sample of their Chicken Alfredo bowl and it was by far the best I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be getting that next time I go. I come from out of town so it’s about a 45 min drive but Taco Bros is definitely worth it. If you haven’t tried it then I’d encourage you to give it a shot it just might be your new favorite taco/pasta place!!

This is absolutely the worst place to order food... Although the drive through looks like it's moving... When I arrived the front person told me it would be ready in 5 minutes... I waited for 25 minutes for my order and of course they had missed an item... So I waited another 15 minutes... I watched one of the workers there roll her eyes at a customer when he walked away... Disgraceful and unprofessional... I will no longer go to this establishment...

First time coming to this place. Being that I'm from South Texas, and we don't have any out there. This place is good and simple. The menu is to the point. The food was great! The staff is super friendly. Very attentive. The burrito I ordered was huge. The street chicken tacos were awesome. The salsas were great. The chef even came out to say hi and see how everything was going. I even got to sample their chicken parmesan plate; thanks to him. It was actually way better than Olive Garden's. The Jamaica drink was great tasting and refreshing. I really recommend stopping by and giving them a try.

I used to go to the location downtown it's better than going to Taco Bell or Del Taco for sure but slowly stopped going because my birra tacos were always burnt I gave a chance start trying the one on Ming Avenue but the taco was still burnt it was hard to bite through the tortilla I tried their pasta a couple times it was just very dry not enough sauce customer service is good the ladies are very friendly I have maybe one or two that are kind of rude but they did fix one of my orders I really appreciate them for that I just don't get birra tacos anymore here. I rated it to as atmosphere because they don't really have a inside sitting location and it's outside it's noisy sometimes cars passed by with smelly exhaust

I got the chicken bowl and chicken quesadilla combo and the pieces of chicken in both were hard as a rock. Also had to wait about 15min until I finally pulled up to the window where they also got my order wrong and had to wait for them to remake it.

Tried to place an order online for pickup. When I got there I waited for approximately 30mins and they still got my order wrong. While I was as waiting I got to listen to a man “the owner” brag about how well his business was and how he was opening more.
One of the employees stated that the online ordering system is messed up and they still would t honor what I ordered. Left upset and sent my boyfriend back. They fixed the order but why does a customer have to jump through hoops for an expensive subpar meal? What happened to customer service? WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!

The shift manager Ev was not friendly. She helped the customer behind me and did not acknowledge me. She was not welcoming or friendly upon ordering. once at the register I redeemed my discount and then she removed my discount and said I can’t use it on Taco Tuesday (even though I bought a burrito). She was robotic about it and didn’t give a “sorry” or other option. It was my first time here. I told her my discount was already redeemed and asked if I could use but she said NO. Also I had a long wait. Then I got home and 4 tacos were missing! I called to let them know and the employee that answered the phone refused to give me her name (I wanted her name for future reference of redeeming my missing tacos). Not a good experience!! There are many other Mexican restaurants that are available to go to. I will NOT be returning here. I don’t recommend

I ordered through uber eats, the uber eats app says it is required to put cheese or a keto shell, or lettuce wrap.i didnt want any of those. So i call taco bros and politely ask the woman on the phone how to put in the app that i dont want cheese. She told me to just select cheese then put in the order notes to put no cheese. I do this then wait for my food. I open my front door and when i go to eat my food there was cheese on it. I touch the tacos and they were also cold. horrible experience and service, they did the exact opposite of what i asked then i got refunded 7 dollars out of my 40 dollar order.

I come here pretty frequently. Whether it's to order food or DoorDash/uber the service is always amazing. An employee by the name Ashley is always so friendly, smiling, and happy. She is always willing to help. As a manager, the product is always important BUT customer service has always been something | look for in an establishment. This employee deserves recognition🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Me and my wife waited in line along with everyone else for 40 minutes only to be told they didn’t have our order & if we wanted anything we’d have to get to the back of the line …. No apologies No explanations Nothing- a “take it or leave it” situation…. Of course we’re upset , gas isn’t cheap & we really wanted the food …. A few days go by and I decided to reach out yo see what the issue was …. Spoke with some guy who claimed to be the owner , super helpful/ apologetic etc …. Even goes as far as to OFFER TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ORDER ON HIM , leaves me with his number and says whenever I was ready to come in ….. He blocked me & Nvr replied again…. FOOD IS GREAT , BUT I CAN NAME 100 GREAT TASTING PLACES THAT ARE NO LONGER OPEN BASED OFF TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AMONGST OTHER THINGS . ESPECIALLY IN A SMALL TOWN LIKE THIS

Excellent selection of food and awesome customer service. This place is a real gem in Bakersfield. From Mexican, Italian and straight out comfort food, Taco Bros has it all. Usually a bit of a wait around meal times but it's very worth it. Try the Italian bowls. Mmmmmmmmmm. Very tasty 😋.

Birria! I love their birria tacos and the honest-to-goodness sweet disposition of the staff. They have a drive-thru, but I like to eat there, partially because I also think their soda is extra good. They don't skimp by watering it down, so I look forward to my Taco Bros well as the food.
I have not tried their selections of other meals, like pasta, but my last visit II did get their beans and rice. I must say this is their weak link. I found them quite boring. Sure some salt helps or pour some birria on it, but really.. I say No! and drink my birria straight up.
Actually I prefer the birria tacos eaten with the T.B hot sauces (OH my, I haven't mention their salsas!!!) and I drink the birria straight up. I just love it! But, imo for me, it could be a bit more beefier, it reminds me of ABC soup, not in a bad way. But I will not hesitate to go to Taco Bros. You should go too! Right now, if they're open.

No indoor seating. food took much longer than expected to be ready even though it was by no means busy. As I was sitting out front waiting for my food to be called I saw two vehicles scoot their way out of the drive thru since it was barely moving. Food made it worth it. Had the asada grilled burrito. Ingredients tasted fresh and meat was well seasoned. Will be going back.

I come here to get birra tacos w/ cheese & their Cajun pasta, 10/10!!! Crew members are always kind & patient. I didn’t get his name but whoever that gentleman is, the crew member in the front (short sleeve blue shirt- short dark nice hair) inside taking orders & assisting today @ 7pm 4/4/24 is so kind & exemplifies great customer service!!! Drive thru forgot my beans that comes w/ rice so I went inside & he assisted me swiftly & even gave me extra taco!!! I didn’t have to ask. Thx you!!!!

Rushed at the speaker, girl was rude. Over-priced, over-hyped. Red salsa was orange and congealed, I didn't even eat it. Food was okay at best, bland. Didn't bother trying a pasta bowl because they don't sell and I'm sure the ingredients are old, even at $20 for a plate of pasta.

I'd avoid this trash. Go eat la villa next door, or even del taco.

I ordered the chicken birria quesadilla combo (rice/beans/drink). They do not skimp on the meat at all! The quesadilla was huge and so full of meat and cheese. The consommé was really flavorful.

The food is slightly below average, the French fries were soaking with grease through the paper bag. And an item was missing when ordering at the drive thru. Doordashing wasn't any different. Ordered 3 tacos and only got 1, no napkins, no forks, no salsa and no straw for the drink.

I am so disgusted after eating here. First they forgot to give me a Mac & cheese & I had to drive all the way back. (My mistake for not checking the bag) & then as soon as my husband starts to dig into his food he sees THE WRAPPER OF THE CHEESE STILL STUCK ON THE CHEESE!!! This is so embarrassing & disgusting. I used to like this place but not anymore after today. You lost a customer.

Absolutely awful. Waited almost 20 minutes for 4 tacos and when I finally got them I had to wait another 5 minutes for the salsa even though it's sitting right next to the girl. Finally when I have the food and I'm ready to eat I noticed I only received 3 out of the 4 tacos I paid for. Tacos were meh.

I absolutely love the food here everything I’ve tried is soooo good!!! However I dread coming here because of how long the wait always is, I understand that it’s made fresh however, I’ve waited up to 40min for my food and even when there was only one car ahead of me that time was 20 min, therefore I just wished there wasn’t so much wait time!!!

Literally the worst birria tacos i have EVER tasted. The birria and rice were sooooo extremely salty it was disgusting. I couldn’t eat my food. A complete waste of money. Never going back.

Taco Bros was easily the best Birria tacos in Bakersfield however the quality has declined so much. It's been 5 times in a row where they get my order wrong simple request like no onion or cilantro or even no ice on my soda seems to be too hard to do but realistically it just doesn't seem like they care anymore. When tacos was what they specialized in the food was amazing. Now even the rice is always hard. They went from Mexican food to pasta, chicken sandwiches, acai bowls, i think even waffles are on the menu now. I get it they're trynna cover every market possible but if you aren't executing anything properly anymore then whats the point of having all those choices. This has been my go to every sunday for years now but I'll have to sadly look for other options cuz the food is no longer worth the drive from the far east side.

This is the best go-to restaurant establishment for a variety of different dining options. Besides all of the great Mexican food dishes. They also have great pasta options, along with a wonderful tasting Acaia bowls

Hands down the best tacos and great food in Bakersfield. They have a variety of options including Keto and Italian dishes that will blow you away. Been here several times and have taken family and friends from out of town. They all were so satisfied with this place and always ask about going back. Allen manages the place with excellent service and customer satisfaction. He is a great cook and trains his staff well to create amazing food for every customer.

Their birria is really good. Especially love the birria quesadilla
It can take awhile to get your food, but they make it all fresh, so it's worth the wait.
Definitely check out their social media pages too, because they often are giving away free food if you check it out.

Used to like getting the early bird burrito but lately it seems like it doesn’t taste the same. The hashbrowns were overcooked. The sausages were cold were inside my burrito and the eggs didn’t have no flavor. I think you guys could do a better job or maybe you guys replace the cook or something but it’s just doesn’t taste the same

Katelyn(I’m so sorry if i spelled that wrong) has the best customer service. The food is delicious & they give such a good amount for the price. A little bit of a wait time in the evening, I almost left the line because of that and the other girls service, but Katelyn treated us with such kindness, that made me stay. Thank you!

The pasta is a hit or miss. The chicken Alfredo is tasty. My poor bf got a chicken torta and received a chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread 😭 he said it was horrible

The food and service here are incredible. I’m a vegetarian and finding a place like this that is able to make so many dishes with no meat or meat alternative like cauliflower or mushroom is exciting. Allan the chef puts a lot of heart into the food and it shows and the staff are always nice and helpful!

First the food was absolutely delicious. The pasta was some of the best I've ever had. My husband who is hard to please absolutely loved the tacos and burrito. The owner was the sweetest man. Fast friendly and clean. If you are looking for a new taco spot. I'm telling you this is the one.

I got a chicken torta! Well idk what kind of bread they use it looked like some type of Italian bread lol so this was definitely not a torta ahaha the nachos were so plain, needed more toppings especially some beans! If you are looking for real Mexican food this is not it!

Went through drive through, first time here . Kids had bean and cheese burritos and I had the birria tacos . Unfortunately our order was way too salty . Couldn’t eat anything from it but the fries . $35 to the trash :(

I bought a corne asada burrito in the drive thru, waited about 20 minutes and when I got it it was wrapped in paper, it was cold, and it was 90% rice, 6% beans, and 4% Carne asada. It was basically a rice burrito.

I would not recommend coming here. Went inside to order, very small, no seating, waited for over five minutes to be helped, was not helped. Got back in my vehicle to go to drive through, one car ahead of me, waited over 15 minutes before they moved and it was my turn, when I tried ordering waited again for over 5 minutes for someone to come on the speaker and to no avail no one did, left a d went next door to la villa and got my food in under 5 minutes from walking in. I'll also add that taco bros was not busy at all so I'm not sure what the staff was preoccupied with doing but I won't be back. Bad first impression.

There food is good , not real Mexican but I had much worse. I went threw the Drive thru much faster than I thought. Very nice guest sevice. I had the toco birra the best. But second time too plate combo not good beans no taste the rice was either old or that quick boil. So different days also ..I guess it just depends.

I've gone many times. In all that time I've only had one mistake and they remade the order immediately, no question. They keep adding to the menu like it is run by some mad food genius. Best Birria tacos, Birria Burritos, Chicken Sandwiches and better pasta than Olive Garden but cheaper. No wonder they are alway busy.
