Wow such an amazing place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We came for breakfast and had an omelette, and 2 sandwiches to share and everything was so delicious! The coffee was amazing as well. And the service was great. Really enjoyed, recommended!

Perfect cafe vibes for breakfast & brunch! We grabbed breakfast with our husky, which is always nice to find super dog friendly places. Our pup even was offered her own water bowl 🤗. You order at the counter and then food is brought to your table, giving that cafe feel and vibe. We ordered a Matcha Latte & Chai Latte with our meal - so good! Mushroom Omelet & Greek eggs. It was unique that each meal is served with pickles, cucumber salad, and tahini sauce. Refreshing!

On a stopover from SF to Vegas. Nice little spot for a breakfast break. Sat outdoors (May 17) 11am - cool in the shade but lots of flies at this time and time of year.

Service was quick and friendly. Food was good. They have live music on Thursdays that I wish I could see but alas Vegas here we come.

Avocado smash and Burger were just fine!

Girl with long hair in the back shirt in the front drinking hydro flask at the front counter, website shows breakfast/lunch from 8-5 but we can't have lunch items because its not 11 (nowhere states this), food was neither here nor there, lemonade is store bought and costs 5.50 with dollar charge for refills, girl at the front does not have hair pulled back while dealing with food and beverages.. not worth the cost of the food/beverage in the long run

The food and service was average. The hummus plate was great. My flat iron steak was slightly overcooked and had an oily film. It has an undesirable mouth feel. My wife's ribeye was average. The kids burgers where okay. For the price we paid I was expecting a better product. Service was a bit slow even though there was not a lot of customers. The staff was very friendly.

I went to two of their locations. The food, sweets and coffee are very good. I had the snitzel, California burger, apple pie, gluten free donut and latte. It was all good. The atmosphere is amazing!!

The Smitten burger was decent. The Brussel sprouts were pretty good. Service was very good from start to finish. Had a live 2 person band playing on Saturday night. Was a bit loud for a smaller space but still nice to hear some music. Overall not a bad spot.

An actual espresso bar! Clearly know what they're doing (at least the group at 9 am on Mondays), creme, not burned, served with sparkling water. Croissants are sufficient, but nothing special.

Always delicious. The nitro cold brew is unique and delightful. The humus is the best I’ve ever had. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

I went to two of their locations. The food, sweets and coffee are very good. I had the snitzel, California burger, apple pie, gluten free donut and latte. It was all good. The atmosphere is amazing!!

Food is good. Service is NOT . My burger sandwich was Not made as ordered. I went inside to have them make the correction . My burger was supposed to be with 2 patties. I got only one . Disappointed . Very bad customer service. I do not recommend this place.

I ordered a pastry today (the last piece of pistachio bread/cake) asked that it be heated, and was given a number so it could be brought out to me. It never came after waiting a long time (which happened 2 times to me on other occasions and I was told they forgot about it) so I inquired. After waiting awhile I was told it had been burnt and did I want a different pastry. I instead asked for a refund which then took quite awhile even after 2 more inquiries but was told they were working on it. Next time (I do like the food) I will wait for the item at the counter to see if it’s taken to be heated and not otherwise sold and to also thwart the long delay. Annoying because it happened 3 different times. If it happens again despite this alert, I will probably avoid Smitten and the annoyance.

Place is clean , the food is ok. I was not allowed to order lunch till after 11 even though the menu and online state 8-5 lunch and breakfast. small portions for what you are paying for. The girl with the hippie vibe kept drinking from her personal mug and kept serving drinks and small foods without washing her hand or dealing with her hair . Considering the price you are paying I wouldn't recommend it.

This place was a nightmare, too crammed, very poor customer service, it’s wheelchair accessible but no one bothered to help us move tables for our group who needed help. The cashier was rude and unhelpful. The other customers who were dining in were more helpful than the staff. To top it off, we hoped the food would be worth it but another disappointment which was to be expected and our order was wrong. The place needs work, maybe with time but as of now they need more training.

Just visited this place for the first time with my fiancé and I,we are both from Napa Valley so we are used to medium hip places such as this.We came in earlier for a lemonade and the server was very nice.We decided to come back for dinner ,however, and the server we had(blonde) lady was very quick with us and extremely dismissive.Nowhere in between our meals did she come to check up on us,ask us how the food was,but asked a table to our right how they were doing over a few times. I've never been to a restaurant where waitresses are that dismissive of their tables where they don't ask their guests how their food is atleast once.They also weren't busy,and they were quick to try and push us out.I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for a nice place to eat and have a good time overall.

We went for dinner and the service was terrible. The waitress did not care about us she got our order wrong and brought our linguine without chicken and then expected us to wait for it to come on side in plate and we no longer ate it after it arrived and didn’t care to apologize for any of it. I won’t be going back for dinner. Over priced as well for the quality.

We dined with out-of-town friends on a Saturday night. We arrived around 6:30p to a fairly empty restaurant with live music for entertainment. As we caught up with our friends we enjoyed some drinks. I had an Old Fashioned and it was an excellent choice - smooth and well made. Three of us had the California Burger while the forth dined on a Garden Salad with Chicken. No one was overly impressed. All the burgers were lukewarm at best and not a single one was prepared as requested. My medium-well burger was medium-rare at best. I had a salad instead of fries and it was 90% arugula and was served with the wrong dressing. Those who ordered fries said they were cold. Food should be prepared as ordered and served promptly while hot - not is such a leisurely manner. We spent close to $200 with tip so it’s not too much to expect that the staff be firing on all cylinders but clearly they were not. Kudos to the bartender tho, my Old Fashioned was the highlight of my night. This wasn’t my first visit to Smitten; I was underwhelmed last time as well, so I think I’ll be passing on any future visits.

Smitten makes for a cozy little cafe to grab your morning coffee and a quick bite in Bakersfield. Its charming counter-service setup offers ample seating options in a relaxed atmosphere. While its specialty drinks shine, the accompanying breakfast items prove more of a mixed bag.
I stopped in on my way to work and ordered a scrumptious Butterscotch Latte - perfectly smooth and dripping with sweet, creamy flavor adding a luxurious twist on my usual morning brew. Of the various house pastries on display, I selected the Breakfast Burrito to provide some balance from protein. Unfortunately, the bland avocado and egg filling lacked any real substance or flavor payoff inside the thoroughly average tortilla wrapping.

Had a bad experience at the smitten cafe downtown but heard this one was better. The service here is better than the other but the food was so bad. Went with my best friend and neither of us even ate half our meal. The fries were good but everything else was flavorless. The food was so bland I doubt they even put salt and pepper. The only flavor in the breakdown burrito was a sprinkle of cheese. It’s so expensive and the food is so boring, don’t waste your money.

Honestly I was very disappointed with this place. It was insanely busy which was crazy for food that’s less than mid. You have to wait in a long line to order food, small selection. Got the chicken schnitzel sandwich, it was so dry and had no flavor. I don’t know what the hype is. I wouldn’t go back especially for the prices.

Great place with a good assortment of cocktails. Moroccan Eggs were cooked wrong initially so we sent it back. When it returned the eggs were completely uncooked. Greek Salad was goos. Usually is experience but overall, a rare miss for Smitten.

Not sure why everyone raves about here. The customer service is sub par at best. Not at all attentive. The way they brought out my espresso martini was unpleasant. Watched the server’s thumb dip in. The fries could have been warmer on my dish. Won’t be back. There’s plenty of places I’d rather be.

Went there today with my friend! I normally have good experiences, but today the service was just not it. We asked how the girl was doing as we were ordering and she wasn’t really paying attention to us. We ordered 48 dollars worth of food and it was kinda mid. We ordered the cheese platter and the chunks of cheese were way to too big, too many nuts, and wasn’t a normal cheese platter was also missing the bri. Mid bread no crackers which cheese platters usually have. The drinks were mid and not sweet at all!

Very rude employees. I went yesterday to meet 3 friends in this place and 2 of us arrived early. No one was in the reception to get them seated, so they walked in and took one of these many empty tables. Then me and my and my other friends arrived like 10 minutes after and went to the same table. One of the employees came and asked all of us to leave the table which wasn’t reserved to any other customer and just wanted us to wait 5 to 10 minutes to be seated again in the same table with a waiter. Unbelievable the way they rejected to understand that it didn’t make any sense, we were already in and the store was have not any reservations on this table. Also, they had like another 3 to 5 empty tables but they were rude even in the way they spoke to us and didn’t even apologise for asking us to leave the table.
Long story short we left the this place and went to better place where they respect their customers.
Don’t recommending them at all.

The cashier was rude and didn’t even put caramel in my coffee so it just tasted like aspirin I said if I could have a different kind and they said yes but never made it so I asked for my money back then they finally made it but let it sit there forever and it still taste bad. Food is good though. Never again will I come back here. Also over priced.

1st time coming, the burger was very damn good. Uh the French fries was even better.
My drink I would give it a 2.2 out 5. But i definitely would come back for that Burger!!

Spend $40 bucks for 2 meal and 2 drinks.
It's a little pricey.

Not what I expected. Disappointed with the place. Small and uncomfortable seating. Parking is way bigger then the restaurant itself 😆 Food was okay but could use a little more flavor. Bagel tasted microwaveable and coffee was flat. Staff was nice and attentive.

Great food, good vegetarian/vegan options. We were a group of 4, had Schnitzel sandwich, tuna sandwich, vegetarian burger(vegan patty but brioche bun) and vegan burrito. Everything was super delicious! Also got vegan blueberry pecan pie who was good but not hot enough. Prices are reasonable and service was great.
They have a nice patio and some indoor seating

Don't do a fundraiser if you don't have the capability to serve Ll the people thar came to eat and help the school. We got here at 5:45 and we didn't get our food til 7:30. Ridiculous, specially if you have small children that eat at certain time and need to go to bed at certain time.
Don't do this again if you do not have the right amount of employees to serve in an efficient and good manner your clients.
Next fundraiser if it is here....will think about it.

They do an awesome vegan burger here. It says harissa mayo and brioche bun but they've told me that they're both vegan. Really delicious, one of my fave burgers I've had. Their fries are also pretty good. Shared the garden salad and it was also fantastic (lovely lemon herb dressing). Their vegan scones have also been quite nice.

Went with a group of 3. Line was average for brunch and many options were what you'd expect for a modern brunch spot price-wise. Environment was very nice and had a bar. Expect to spend roughly $20+ per person. I personally ordered the breakfast bagel ($6) and matcha latte. Decent bites but went more for the experience.

My mom had been wanting to go so we went in last week and were extremely disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and super sweet but the food was very unpleasant. We ordered two cappuccinos and two pie holes, one strawberry one blueberry, and they were cold and tasted refrigerated, despite us going in very early. For the price, and the hype this place gets, we expected them to at least be warm. Unfortunately, we did not get our money's worth on our trip to this location.

Smitten has become my favorite spot for Dinner (and I live 40mins away!). I like that parties can share plates like a family-style dinner. My partner and I have sampled several items from the dinner menu and every dish is fresh, delicious, and fairly priced. Props to the team and the chef! Coffee is great too!

We had a small baby shower on the patio. They were fantastic about letting us put up small decor and even put the cake in the fridge for us. The food is 10/10, a tad pricey but their small menu of appetizers and dinner allows for great quality. Try the Mediterranean flat bread and cheese board. I had the Ribeye for dinner. Peppercorn sauce was 🔥.

I really enjoys this location. Working from home feels very isolating and being able to work outside and in such a great environmental has been having me much more productive especially with a gym right next door. The service is great, the food is delicious. The drink both cafe and bar are well worth it. It can be a bit pricey but the quality is there.

This place is overhyped, wayyy overpriced and overrated. Got the chicken schnitzel sandwich...the chicken was extremely dry and stringy. Tried the hummus plate and it tasted like store bought and packaged when it says "house made hummus" on the menu. The coffee was pretty good but it is served in thin clear glass cups and gets cold quick. This place is advertised as an "upgrade" to their cafe' downtown but falls short of that. Family of 4 and our bill was over $80 including tip...and for the quality of food I would easily say we will not be back.

Visited on Saturday, January 8th around 9:30am. Not too busy and more than enough staff yet quite disappointed in service. My friend ordered a breakfast burrito, I ordered one of the scones in the glass case. We both ordered a Bloody Mary. My friend received her burrito, albeit without silverware first. We could see my scone sitting on the counter for at least 10 minutes post heating..many employees were gathered talking but no one to bring my scone. Finally delivered the cold food and still no drinks! Also, no butter as requested. A man and his daughter who were seated next to us also experienced poor service but were very gracious as were we.

Unfortunately, I won’t be visiting again, worst service I’ve ever experienced in Bakersfield.

I had a very good salad. My husband had the Smitten burger which was delicious. We took home an apple pie which we had for Thanksgiving and was the best store bought pie I have ever had.

Schnitzel is excellent, although downtown location seems to give bigger portions of chicken (thicker cuts) . Lemonade is delicious as well.

It's ok. But the seating has no cushion, maybe even some individual cushions would've helped. Fry portions are excellent. Drink prices are a bit much.

Smitten is a hit or miss, not all the menu items are good.
My friend had the Tuna sandwich, the tuna was bland, very little mayo.
She also had the Maple latte and she was "smitten" by it.

I had Portobello mushroom sandwich. I liked the taste, bread was toasted.
I will definitely go back again.

Looks like a great place. Super clean. Friendly servers. The managers are very friendly. The food looks amazing. The smells from the kitchen had me drooling. The coffee selection is really good, and priced right. Please give this place a try. You'll be so glad you did

Smitten should now be known for dinner. My companions and I sampled several items on the dinner menu. Sharing each dish... it was a magical evening of some the finest cuisine BAKERSFIELD has to offer. Every dish literally was perfect. My favorites: the fries ( I am not a French fry lover but will be back for these) the quinoa dish, the salad, the lamb (I am also not a big meat eater but wow!). The sauces are amazing. This is a must try dinner spot.
I have been to this location several times for breakfast/ coffee and tea and am never disappointed.

I tried their avocado smash with a pumpkin spice latte for breakfast and it was amazing. The outdoor seating is amazing and great ambiance to hang out with friends.

Had a very nice round of drinks, cheese plate, and pie hole desserts. Good service. Live music was good but too loud, speakers were muffled and woofy so you couldn't hear clearly. It's a really cool vibe restaurant and we love it
