I absolutely loved the ambience at The 18hundred—it gave me a charming New York café vibe, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was served quickly and to perfection. We tried the grilled cheese and the French toast, both of which were delicious and beautifully prepared.

For drinks, we went with “The Rainbow” cocktail, a refreshing mix of various fruits expertly crafted together. It was vibrant, flavorful, and definitely a standout on the menu.

Our server was attentive and provided exceptional service throughout our visit, making sure we had everything we needed. The prices were reasonable, and it looks like they also have a solid happy hour worth checking out.

10 out of 10! This is the first restaurant in Bakersfield to perfectly poach an egg! The house-made salsa/hot sauce is delicious! The service was excellent and friendly. Stephanie was an absolute delight behind the bar. The overall dining experience can be described as high quality. Will definitely be back!

We moved to Bakersfield about 6 wks. ago and have been impressed with the restaurant scene so far. We checked out the Social Hours (happy hour) at The 18hundred and we will be back. Cute place, delicious food and drinks at great prices.

I had a very tasty and refreshing cocktail (The Rainbow), and my husband had a glass of house Chard (Maggio) for $3.50 at HH price is great!

Also, the staff is friendly and attentive. Mia was great, and we enjoyed learning a bit more about the restaurant and the DT area by her taking the time to chat with us. We look forward to returning soon!

The 18hundred is definitely my go to brunch place. Food, drinks, services and atmosphere was a 10/10. I had Karol as our server multiple times, she’s such a nice server. I definitely recommend check this place out !

Ahhhh the ambiance. They don’t make buildings like this anymore. The exposed brick, 25 ft ceilings, beaux arts or deco-ish facade. They did a good job creating a vice.

Oh yeah, the food, it was decent. Nothing seemed to wow us but it was enjoyable and the service was fun and whitty. I always enjoy a personality with a server. No food item stood out but def get a cocktail or a shake.

We went to 18hundred twice in a 30-hour span and had an amazing experience both times. Joseph and Sam took care of us, and each provided professional and friendly service.

During our first visit, Joseph served us at the bar during a busy lunch rush. Despite the crowd, he treated us like we were his only customers, giving us exceptional attention. The following morning, shortly after they opened, Sam was our server. She was funny, personable, and gave us some of the best service we’ve had in a long time.

The food was fresh and delicious both times. 18hundred combines great service with fantastic food. We can’t recommend it enough!

We stopped by for drinks and got the grilled chicken sandwich, bbq salad, and Zucchini fries. All was great! The bartender was really nice and gave us recommendations on where to to and what to do since we were new to the area.

In Bakersfield for work and my coworker and I wanted to go to some antiques stores. We were also hungry so we stopped here first. Very cool vibe inside, seemingly a lot of original architecture, which I love.
We ordered our food, starting with fried zucchini. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. This was awful! Tiny little chewy strips. So awful. Hard to bite into but not burnt. Couldn't eat but a few. I should have said something, but to what point?
(If anyone reading saw Love Actually and recall Colon's stint as server at s catered event, he compares some appetizer to dead baby's fingers. This is what he meant, lol).
My friend got the chicken fingers with 'salad'. It was literally chicken fingers on a lot of garnish type large leaf lettuces. I guess serving it with a side of dressing turns it into salad? I ordered the cheeseburger. It was actually really good and the fries were good too. They were shoestring, fyi.
They give you a carafe of water at the table, which I like instead of waiting for the server to refill.
The service was good, food was pretty prompt and the prices weren't bad. Just don't waste your money on the fried zucchini. 😁

I had a tropical Margarita, and my husband had an old fashion. Both drinks were good. I had a shrimp po boy, and my husband had a brunch burger. Both were very tasty, and the fries are the best. I had in a while. We want to come back and try more dishes.

Stopped in after 3 hours of LA traffic and was taken back by the attention that Joe provided. He recommended delicious margaritas based on a simple conversation! His attention to detail is top-notch! He truly is a master of his craft. If you’re ever in the area (Bakersfield… I know, I had never heard of it before) and ask for Joe! Thank you so much for taking such good care of us. We will be back.

Their BBQ Chicken Salad is awesome! I'd highly recommend it! Also their shakes are good, and pretty big.

The shake I got was the chocolate shake. I also tried the "La Vida Mocha", but I like the chocolate better.

I just wanted to share my experience. Tonight eight of us meet at this restaurant. Some were family and some were friends. A few folks got to this restaurant before others. When we arrived there was not a place for us all to seat at that time and this was not a problem. There was a 45 minute wait. They stated we can sit at different tables. Most of the eight of us were paying separately. We were informed by a waitress that even though we were paying separately and sitting at separate tables, they were going to charge a 20% group gratuity. This makes no sense at all. The waitress was not going to work with us, what a shame. We all left and went to Sandrinis. The restaurant easily lost $250.00 or more. The part that bothers me the most is we like this place and all of us go there a lot. I will say shame on you and have now lost our business.

Had lunch there recently. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and it was great. Enough spice in the sauce/slaw to let you know this is not chik-fill-a but no so much that it overwhelmed the bird. It was crispy and tender, balanced, and served with nice portion of fries. Food was outdone by service. Bar staff was kind and conversational. Well attended in terms of food service and making sure we hade everything needed. I look forward to having a chance to go back soon!

Great place for a date, where you can get get good food, service and options of their famous milk shakes, all under the roof of a historical building in Downtown Bakerfield. Great vib, despite waiting 15 mins, it was worth the wait. I'm picky about salmon, and their wild caught Salmon definitly left me craving more so I will definitly come back.

I went there yesterday. And karen the bartender there had an amazing attitude and gave amazing service. I love the shrimp tacos there, their sauce gives it a pretty good flavor.

The food is delicious and the atmosphere is nice. The hostess was a bit rude, which was a bit off-putting. Aside from that, our server was pleasant. Overall, it's a good place to grab a bite to eat. I would just suggest the hostess be a bit more friendly and welcoming.

The Tropical Margarita is delicious! The food & service are excellent! The shrimp tempura appetizer is the bomb! Reasonably priced, in a beautiful historic building. When I am in Bakersfield, I will definitely go back.

Looks like a large restaurant but it’s very small. Do not come here if you think it’s a bar, it definitely isn’t. No WiFi which is crazy. Very expensive for average food and as others have stated the employees seem bothered by customers, terrible attitudes all around.

This is a bright and fresh atmosphere for anyone looking for a great fresh taste! The burgers are delicious, the fish taco is so good and of course the milkshakes are over the top. The waitstaff are helpful in ordering and decision making. The food is fresh, non-greasy and made to order. Sides such as salads, fries, and onion rings are available but don’t come with the meal. This is perfect for sharing rather than being presented with too much food. I will keep coming back to this delicious spot!

We went for an early Father’s Day celebration tonight for dinner. The service was not good..they only had one person doing all the jobs! He was the Restaurant hostess, bar and serving food! It took forever for our food and they messed up one of our meals. Mine was forgotten and not made, so i ate after my family was done already! My daughter’s kids spaghetti and meatballs was so sour she couldn't hardly it eat! Also, we noticed the kids meal is more expensive than the adult meal! Then… we sat for the longest time before we got our check to pay! My kids wanted ice cream but we weren’t about to wait another hour! People trying to get sat were leaving because no one acknowledged them. I usually dont leave reviews like this, but this place really needs to get it together! I won’t be rushing back!

This was our second time here. The first time was right when they opened and I was giving grace for that fact, but our second time was even worse! The food is sooo bad! I would compare to a children’s baseball game snack bar quality of food. The waiters were nice, the environment is awesome but it’s not worth it to go!

Great food, great service, good ambiance. For a Friday night it was not crazy loud inside either. We were told close to an hour wait but we were seated within 15 minutes. Food was out lightning fast and they were accommodating to food allergies and special requests. Drinks were tasty and quickly served. We don't live in town but will definitely keep this place on our list if we are nearby again.

This place is nice for lunch and dinner. It has a full bar and specialty cocktails that taste great with any dish. It’s a small establishment but the decor and spacing makes it seem bigger then what it is and there is seating on the outside. Will definitely be coming back when I visit the city.

Cute spot to grab a burger and their milkshakes are ahhhhmazing! You will definitely leave full! Service was very prompt and friendly. We ordered the chicken taquitos to start - the mango salsa is really just plain mango's and didn't really go with the vibe of the dish but overall it wasnt bad. We both got burgers and a shared the unicorn milkshake.

This restaurant and bar is a must visit stop in Bakersfield. The atmosphere, service and food are great. We sat outside on their patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Great drinks made by an excellent bar tender. Highly recommended.

Found a piece of aluminum in my dad’s chicken parm, management decided a $4.xx discount was sufficient for the mishap of that; Now my dad had to sit there and watch everyone else eat or risk having their food get cold while they remake his. The waiter realized that was ridiculous and put in an additional $10 discount. I want to thank the waiter for being more understanding and remorseful, but I’m disappointed with management here. I will probably not be coming back anytime soon.

2/19/24 was my first time there. I took my oldest and we had a mother daughter date she order the chicken Alfredo pasta and I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich with the zucchini fries. I absolutely loved the zucchini fries 10/10 I do recommend. As far as my sandwich the meat had too many fatty pieces, it was a lil rough, not seasoned at all and a lil dry. My daughter’s pasta was taste less and needed more sauce. Now our first waiter was a guy I can’t remember his name but he was amazing. Very attentive nice, informative and helpful. But when he went on his break and left us with Meghan things took a turn for the worse. She did not come to our table and when I called her she huffed and puffed. Had an attitude and dragged her feet coming to my table smh.

Had a great visit last night. Was in town for business and stopped by with colleagues. The ambiance, food and service were all on point. I had the Mahi Mahi which was delicious and reasonably priced. The cornbread side dish was amazing as well. Enjoyed it so much I came back for breakfast.

We started with the chicken taquitos. Would not recommend. Too many things going on. The salsa was sweet and did not go w the rest of the flavors. Also got the salty sailor milkshake. So yummy.
For our meals we got the rib eye meal w garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Steak came w a mushroom demiglaze. So good but my husband thought the steak was a little overcooked. And the ultimate garlic grilled cheese. W bacon and avocado. Fries were really good.

Tried this place on a Friday evening and thought it would be much better than it was. The restaurant was nice, a little crammed. The staff were kind and attentive. The food was mediocre with taste at best, but flashy. I got the BBQ chicken. I only ate my mashed potatoes and corn. The chicken, although tender and juicy, was flavorless. My hubby got the mahi-mahi and it was delicious. He got a side of zucchini fries as they were out of spinach. They were so bland and soggy. The ranch tasted literally like warm mayonnaise. We always try a restaurant twice so we'll for sure try again but I was disappointed in our food overall. The wine was ok but I had a pinch of higher expectations due to reviews. Again, the staff were great. The ambience was decent. Food just didn't do it for us. Pricing wasn't horrible at all. One soda, one wine, one mixed drink 1 appetizer and 3 meals came out to $122.

very okay. had an old fashioned, burger & fries, and their birthday shake. it was all fine, but nothing enough to write home about. old fashioned was very strong. i probably should have known better when i overheard one of the wait staff say all their burgers were cooked well done. meaning: the patties are something like you’d find at wendy’s or five guys. burger & fries weren’t bad by any means though. cake shake was kind of disappointing. it was essentially a vanilla shake with a piece of cake on the glass. once you get past the piece of cake sitting there, i could get a similar shake at sonic.
people were very friendly and the restaurant itself is a nice aesthetic.

Good food, very good and quick service along with a delicious cocktail. The menu is small overall but I appreciate being good at a little versus trying to be mediocre with a lot. Had their breakfast burger with onion rings and they didn't disappoint. A true bonus, throw some sports on one TV and cartoons on another 🤯... killed it!

Beautiful building. Our waiter was very polite and timely. Sadly for such a wonderful place the food didn't cut it for me. Felt like a small burger joint hijacked a mansion ans set up shop. I hope better for next!

Bring your own utensils 🍴 🥄 and toilet paper 🧻. I don’t mind eating with my hands but I prefer the options between a fork and spoon with the aid of a knife to cut pieces bite size, again just my preference. It was too late, I was committed when I realized, NO toilet paper, I had to resort to using the brown hand paper towels, ouch I was in pain and discomfort for hours after the restroom visit. This was my first time visiting this establishment, not sure I’d return.

The burger here used to be one of the best in town now it is just average. The patties for the burger used to be nice, thick, and juicy. Now it is thin and dry like a mc donalds patty.

Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. It was originally constructed as an industrial space, with high ceilings and probably lofts, then converted into a fairly trendy downtown restaurant. The service was excellent. There was a shift change while we were there and both of our waiters were very polite, helpful and professional. The food was good. My pastrami melt was tasty but not quite what I hoped. Everything was fresh and high-quality, it just wasn't a traditional pastrami melt. Their French fries are perfect, slightly crispy and not the least bit greasy. It was busy in the late afternoon, even before dinnertime customers would normally be expected. Definitely would recommend, just for the pleasant atmosphere and quality service and food.

Bartender working 1-12-24 at 8:30 pm made a delicious Bloody Mary and was prompt and accommodating to me and my wife on her birthday. Cake was good and all drinks ordered were great but the prompt service was what really stood out.

The food was delicious (we got Mahi burger, Mahi tacos, & a Black Bean burger)and the drinks were just as good. Joseph is an excellent server/bartender!! We appreciate all your recommendations, your friendliness and professionalism. The staff were all very friendly. We recommend their vegan and non vegan options! Look forward to coming back soon.

One of Bako's hidden gems. A variety of top shelf organic alcoholic beverages. Excellent wine menu. Delicious food and friendly and courteous service. One of my fave's here in the 661. M highest recommendations.

The server earned the place two stars. The food earned zero. Very disappointing for "handcrafted" food. Alfredo sauce is watery. I'm no chef but i made better chicken fettuccine alfredo when i was 16. It was the worst ive ever seen. I honestly felt bad for recommending we try this place. Menu says wild caught fish but apparently shrimp is farm raised! Burger was mediocre at best. Had the look and taste of frozen patties. Which even at that ive had better. Was afraid to even try a milk shake after the food. Just all around an incredibly disappointing expereince, except the service.

My friends and I had a great brunch here. We snacked on zucchini fries first, then I got the Bees Knees Latte with oat milk and the biscuit with gravy. Very delicious!

Update: finally got to eat here and was pleasantly surprised! Service was great, our waitress was very nice and attentive. Ordered the brunch burger with fries and a chocolate shake. The burger was a little under seasoned but was juicy and tasty. Fries were salty and crispy. Chocolate shake was absolutely amazing! All of that for $21, price was very affordable. The 1800 has redeemed itself, will be back!

This place does not know how to turn tables. I understand it's a new place in town and that means all of Bakersfield wants to try it, but it shouldn't take 2 hours for lunch. Came here at 2:30 PM on a Saturday and was completely packed. They were closing in 30 minutes (they had wierd hours when they first opened), and told us it would take 50 minutes to seat us, so we might as well come back another day. If you looked around, you would see groups of 8 taking up all the tables chatting long after they paid their bill. Turn tables so others can eat, please. They can finish their conversation outside. I always give people the benefit of the doubt, so I will come back. Hopefully the next time it will be better and with less table hoggers.

We came in today as a group of 4 people + 4 y.o. child. Even though there were a bunch of tables we were not allowed to move 2 tables together OR use the table 4 people (we had 5 with the kid and wouldn't care). The host told us this is due to safety reasoning. I honestly couldn't think of any dangerous situations it would lead to lol. Maybe she has a couple loose screws we don't know of. Anyways, we had to leave even though it seemed like a nice place.

Always a good experience here. Clean and a fun atmosphere. The staff are really the shining stars - every single person has excellent customer service. The food always comes to the table promptly along with anything else the servers can grab for you. Like, I'm a very anxious person, and I feel comfortable enough here to ask for something because the staff is so enthusiastically accommodating.

I love how varied the menu is. Definitely in the top 3 chicken tenders I've ever had, and the maple butter cornbread is also delicious. The extravagant milkshakes are fun without being gigantic.

Shout-out to Karen S - I hope she is getting a great yearly bonus because she is simply fantastic at her job. :)

Great experience, the kindest waiter who understood we were in a hurry for a concert and provided excellent customer service in a very timely manner. Ate well and was able to make it to the show. Also, the milkshakes are fireeeee. Recommend.

Great food and atmosphere! Close to the courthouse if you have jury duty. The turkey club is perfect and the hamburgers are monster size.

We enjoyed our first visit! Service was very attentive and friendly. The temperature was perfect here. I love the atmosphere and decor of black and white with pops of color.

The food was so good that we forgot to take a picture! I got the lettuce wrapped mushroom Swiss burger. The garlic aioli was to die for. I wish I could drink the sauce. Hubby got the pastrami sandwich and said it was very tasty. The pamelo drink was refreshing and not too sweet, just the way I like it. The kids had coloring and a burger from the kids menu.

We were way too stuffed to try the milk shake for my birthday. We will be sure to try it next time! It was a pleasant dining experience :)

The breakfast is more than adequate, with a small menu but a delight. I’ve recently been told I’m borderline diabetic witch gives me limits. Whoever suffers in this situation will be happy to know that the farmers bowl is diabetic friendly. It comes with sweet potatos country style, two eggs and avocado. Super filling and delicious. Keep up the good work.
