I drive by this place 5 days a week and finally decided to stop in. The service was good and the place is nice. My daughter ordered the coconut horchata and it was amazing!! I would get this every day if I could! I ordered the berry hibiscus thinking it would taste more like jamaica. It was still good though. I ordered the cubano and fries. It was very versatile good. The fries were sooo good! Fries are always good but these were spectacular! The cubano was really good, the pork had such good flavor. My daughter ordered dulce pancakes and sausage with sweet potato tots. Everything was great and looking forward to going again!

Our party of 6 arrived on a Sunday morning around 9:00AM and were greeted warmly, seated promptly, enjoyed a BEYOND delicious meal (totally worth the $130), had a very attentive waitress, and were out by 10:30. Half of our party are vegetarian, The District Cafe had plenty of options for them to choose from. Meat eaters enjoyed The Heavy, a Mexican Burrito, and a Santa Barbara Omelet all of which are highly recommended. All of the side potato options were chosen and a hit! DO NOT PASS UP EATING HERE!!!

My hubby and I went here after a Google search and we will for sure go back! Service was great, their menu is extensive and the everything looked yummy. We both enjoyed our dishes: church fried steak and carne asada. The portions are huge, so great for sharing!

I often pass by this eatery on my way to the vet's office. This time, I was without my feline friend, so I decided to stop in. Upon entering, I was a bit taken aback by the less-than-welcoming greeting from the host, who simply directed me to a corner table. I noticed a more inviting table near the window but didn't mention it.

The waitress, however, was a breath of fresh air. She was warm and friendly. I ordered the District Burger without sauce and a side of fries. When my meal arrived, it looked and smelled delicious. But as I tried to cut into the burger, I encountered an unexpected obstacle: the bottom bun was rock-hard! I removed the bun and tried tearing it but to no avail. I ate a bite of the meat and top bun, which were okay, along with the cheesy onion fries.

Feeling unsatisfied, I asked for a to-go box. The waitress noticed my barely touched-meal and inquired about it. I explained the issue, and she kindly offered to have the kitchen prepare a new burger. A few minutes later, I had a fresh meal to go. The waitress's commitment to customer satisfaction was impressive, and I thanked her with a generous tip.

I attended a Yelp event last night at The District Cafe. I've met Alex before since he is the owner of Bakersfield Pizza and Co and Camino Real, he is such an awesome guy. The food was delicious! The gravy was perfect and with their homemade buscuits and homemade country fried steak, perfect combination. I loved their fries, it reminded me of Rallys and Checkers fries but with their chili, it was better. Their hamburger and pull pork sandwhich was mouthwatering, I left wanting more!
They're open 7 days a week and from 7AM to 10AM you can buy one get one half off on omelets and burritos, and add all you can eat pancakes for $5. I can not wait to come again!!!!

I've been twice.. Both times the food has been absolutely delicious. The second time I went service was absolutely horrible. I had the feeling the waitress did not want to wait on us at all. It was so bad we had to get up and go to the front to check out. We left our food behind that we wanted to take with us because she never came to check on us one time.

Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 just because I liked the food. The service on other hand was atrocious. I had ordered the chicken friend steak $18 it come with biscuits and gravy. I was told when the food arrived our waitress will bring the rest. Our waitres was busy with another customer (im guessing her significantother the way she sat down practicallyon him when he came in). So I waited 10 mins for her to be done she passes by, I ask for my biscuit she said oh they are making them. I say okay I can wait no problem. We eat our meal. We even order food to go. And still no biscuits I ask again she says still not ready 40 mins later. Then we speak to another waiter he tell us they currently don't have biscuits. But our waitress has been telling us they are making them. So I'm upset at this point I payed so much for part of the meal not be ready. What upsets me is if they would have been honest with me I would have ordered something else not so expensive. It was a waste of money and to get lied to it's a Big No for me. I won't be going there again service is not worth it. It's not the first time I've had a bad experience with the service there but I return because of the food. But no more I won't put myself in that situation again I'd rather spend my money somewhere I would be treated properly and not lied to.

Delicious food, I’ve tried probably half of the menu and it’s great. Service is always good and prices are reasonable. This is my number one spot for breakfast.

I stopped by to order takeout and ordered the steak & chimichurri sandwich with sweet potato tater tots. The sandwich was amazing, the perfect amount of flavor and crunch! The service was prompt and friendly, and while I wasn't there long enough, the ambience was welcoming enough that I'm looking forward to planning a lunch date with friends so we could check out their patio. If you're looking for a spicy and flavorful sandwich, I would definitely reccomend this dish!

I have enjoyed everything I have tried.Brwakfaat burrito, chilaquiles,vegan sausage breakfast sandwich. All equally good. It would be nice to have breakfast potatoes and not fries offered with the breakfast sandwich though. My husband enjoys the steak meal options.

We went on a Sunday around 8 AM. It wasn't busy at all. The service and food was amazing. I will definitely be back to try more of the non-breakfast items.

Really is a must try! Great food at good prices. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. I have only had breakfast and a lunch so far, but both were delicious! Will definitely be back when I can enjoy the bar

The drip coffee is liquid gold. Food - amazing! The mimosa tower? A must-have! Service - all staff were super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. 10/10 recommend!!

Great food but took a long time to get the food had people come in after us and they got their food and left before us. It's part of the growing pains of a new place will definitely try again .

Went there this morning the menu was straight forward nothing special you had to pay extra for salsa to put on your food that that was crazy but it’s not my restaurant they forgot to bring out the toast for my my wife just a up scale truck stop

Vida juice is not always in stock. Double OO ice cream containers don't have a consistent weight. I know this place is not Vida Vegan, I think it's the same owners, so it offends me that they charge $3 extra for vegan cheese, then I have to pay more if I say no reg cheese and sub for a avocado. Like I with cost of everything going up. It kinda makes me not wanna spend my money here. It saddens me that I don't feel that there is an effort to keep vegan customers. I can purchase a pack of sliced cheese or shredded vegan cheese for $6 and you charge 1/2 the price and not serving customers even 1/4 of what came out your package. It's just Hella disappointing. If you are vegetarian this place may be a good option. They have more mock meats than fresh foods. Food is hot when you get it so I give them credit for that. Just feel like I can get more for my money elsewhere.

I personally wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Not because the service is mediocre or because the atmosphere is average or even because the food is okay at best. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant because of how expensive they are. This place is extremely expensive for what it is and compared to other breakfast restaurants in town. The food isn't worth $23 a plate. If you're looking for a good place to have breakfast, I'd consider looking downtown and trying 18HUNDRED. The atmosphere is great, along with the food being reasonably priced.

One of the best places to eat in @Bakersfield. Delicious food, small and intimate coffee cups, fresh tasting food. Smells great. Great customer experience.
It’s just a place i wanna go back to.

Food was very good, plenty of options. Coffee is good with plenty of drink options also.
Little over crowding on the plate. Putting a chicken fried steak, country potatoes, 2 eggs and biscuit and gravy all on a plate makes for a harder time keeping food on the plate as you’re eating. Spliting it to two plates or get a larger plate would help for the amount of food.
