Sequoia Sandwich Co

Mom and I had their California pastrami featuring Sequoia’s Tender juicy and delicious Pastrami stacked “California Style” on a grilled French roll with melted Swiss, yellow mustard & pickles. Neither of us had cheese on ours but I think they have several cheeses you can pick from if you would like. This place is popular! The orders get filled pretty rapidly in my opinion and the staff are always so helpful and menu knowledgeable. So that is nice if you ask about customizing any particular order within reason. This is hands down our favorite sandwich restaurant whether you want a hot or cold sandwich because they have many choices in both categories for every palate.

During a short visit to Bakersfield (5/24), I had the BEST pastrami sandwich ever!!! I’ve been thinking of it since! The shop was well maintained band comfortable. . Staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. Will definitely return ! Thank you.

Immediate fast and friendly service! The sandwiches are incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. The kitchen staff always seems well organized and attentive to getting orders out quickly and still look great. Had the California Pastrami Sandwich. Big thumbs up. And the desserts are plentiful and tempting.

This place is mediocre and slightly pricey. I can't place my finger on it, but it is off. I believe it to be their choice in local bread, which is a bit dry. Heidi's back in the day was better when it made bread on location. Some of the combos of ingredients run slightly off. I prefer Deli Delicious and frankly Jersey Mike's and Subway to Sequoia sandwich.

Edit: Prices are high for what you get. A chicken club and a bag of chips cost me $14.75. Sandwich is small for the price. See photo.

Very good for a sandwich shop and I will be back soon. Nice area and view, with outdoor seating. I guess the secret is out because people are going for the quality and good size sandwiches. High end breads I am sure you will like and appreciate every time you go there. Many cold and hot sandwiches, lots of soft drinks,tea and many more in the cold chests. Hope you enjoy all the Sequoia Sandwich restaurants like I do.

My husband and I just visited today for the first time. Let me just say, " Where has this been all my life?"
Amazing sandwiches at very reasonable prices! Friendly and speedy service! We only waited 10 minutes for our 4 sandwiches, which were all delicious. Cashier was incredibly friendly and killing it!
We will definitely be back!

Went to pick my sandwich the Indian lady by the counter threw the bag at me and when I arrived at work half my order was missing. Sequoias has never been like this but skip this location.

I've got to say, this place makes some pretty decent sammiches. Picked up a BBQ tritip yesterday (sorry forgot to get a pic), was good enough i decided to come back again today and get the Italian Stallion. Price vs food is actually pretty worth it and wasn't let down. Nice sit down eating outside under umbrellas too in this great weather.

Very clean, friendly staff and many options for hot/cold sandwiches, desserts and sides. I had the sicilian sandwich and a side of the broccoli,almond & raisin salad. The sandwich was good, but the broccoli salad was my favorite, it was definitely different but so good! I'll be back for the broccoli salad!

Been coming to Sequoia for years and have always looked forward to the Club Deluxe. Piled with meat and bacon and an amazing onion Dill roll. But not today. Just plain sourdough, half the meat, and a couple pathetic pieces of bacon. Dry and flavorless. Definitely nothing deluxe about this sandwich anymore. I hope the new owners didn't change the other sandwiches much because they wouldn't be in business much longer. Here's a tip. If you're going to buy out a successful business and carry the same name and menu, don't change anything. At least the cookie didn't change. Still enjoyed that at least. I'm not one to write many reviews good or bad, just that disappointed after years of great experiences.

Sequoia has some of the best sandwich’s I have ever ate but what happened to the onion roll. It seriously was the best bread so it’s disappointing to see that’s it off their menu. Also why is it so hot inside their restaurant. Kick up the AC so your customers aren’t sweating while eating.

It's tasty food even though is expensive, what really annoys me is that they continuously screw up the order, the replace some items with other ones, they forget the side sauces that are part of the order, the give you the wrong dressing even though you specify what kind of dressing you want. It's unfortunate, because this happens 1 out of 2 times, many times I'm able to catch it, but some others I end up having to eat something completely different to what i payed for. Today for exmample I ordered a large macaroni, and they gave me a large cup of fruit....Seriously??????

I used to love coming here, the prices are a little high but always received amazing serving service and top notch food.. not anymore; I purchased a Sicilian this afternoon (same thing I always order) and it had exactly one thin piece of ham and one thin piece of salami.. I won't go back after today. The Sicilian used to be a large sandwich, I would eat half and save the other half for later which made it worth the money, but I am now left still hungry. I ordered the sandwich to-go and live 15 min away from the nearest location so taking it back wasn't an option. Very disappointed.

Went for lunch on Saturday at 11:45 am and as they were short staffed, no one greeted us or indicated it would be a minute. After 5 mins with a line growing behind us we left disappointed .

Ordered a sandwich like 5min before they closed got there at 3:02pm and they unlocked the door to let me in which was great, and to top it off somebody took my sandwich before they closed so they made me a new one free of charge without me asking, wonderful service and extremely kind cashier. I used to think their Reuben sandwich was the best... then I tried the New Yorker. Pastrami and corned beef with coleslaw. It's the best of both worlds, like getting a pastrami sandwich and a Reuben with a coleslaw twist.

Sequoia food is consistently good, a decent price, and nice variety (for a sandwich shop). For me this location is especially convenient because it is within walking distance of my office, so I can call in an order, pick it up, and move along quickly, or if I have the time there is plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor) to hang out for a while. There is also public parking for those who would be driving.

Sequoia Sandwich Shop is a real gem for those working in or visiting the large office park fronting on both Ming Avenue and Camino Media just west of the Market Place Shopping Center.

In two separate instances I've had the misfortune of finding foreign objects on my order. The first time I ordered a chicken Cesar salad and there was, what appeared to be, a piece of plastic wrapper inside the salad. It had the appearance of a plastic-like rope or string. The second time 10/18/2017, I ordered the same thing, a chicken Cesar salad, and this time there was a huge hair inside the salad.

While the staff is always courteous, the food comes out fast, this establishment seems to have major issues with sanitation. I tried giving them a second chance but I will no longer be a customer at the sequoia sandwich company located at Ming Ave.
