Cool Little bar/hangout/kitchen etc. It's way out there on highway #247 between Barstow and Lucerne Valley. If you are traveling through the area, I highly recommend you stop here and get a burger and fries. Being my first time here, that's what I decided to go with, and I don't regret it at all. Nevertheless, they have other menu options which I'll be checking out next time I come through here. The place gets jam packed with weekend warriors, and it's kinda cool. The interior as you will see in my pics, is super cool. But they also have a huge outdoor eating area where most visitors prefer to go. Needless to say, I really like this place and I highly recommend it to anyone passing through, or Even those who want to venture out and go visit a cool place in the middle of nowhere. Lol

I recently visited a restaurant/bar in Barstow, CA and I must say, it was one of the coolest places I've been to. The atmosphere was fantastic, the employees were friendly and the food was amazing. It's definitely worth a stop, especially if you're out on the trails. What's even better is that you can trail to and from the place, so no need to deal with streets and pesky concrete roads. Overall, a wonderful spot for lunch or a casual hangout. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

What a great find for our road trip from northern California to southern California. They have a lovely big shaded patio where our dogs could hang with us and made the 93F day feel pretty comfy. Kids enjoyed running around the yard since no one else was around. The staff was friendly and helpful. Food was overall pretty good quality with the fried zucchini having a perfect ratio of flavorful batter to zucchini pieces. Burgers were good and kids gobbled up the corn dog. Definitely recommend stopping here.

Good stuff but go with a LOT of patience. walk in and wait about 15 minutes behind a group that is dithering at the register with a menu. Finally they leave and a guy walks up and pushes himself to the register. After 10 minutes for the cashier to take his order, I start to plant myself squarely in front, and yet another entitled goober pushes himself in front of me. I stare him down and he backs off. Cashier walks up then walks away and does everything but take my order for 10 minutes. Then she completely disappears. 5 minutes later friendly owner-looking guy greets me and tells me even though it's a minute before end of breakfast that breakfast is no longer served. I let him know I've been waiting over half an hour and could he do a fella a big favor. Hemmin' n' hawin'.... aaaaaw-rightwhaddleitbe? Country fried steak and gravy please, sourdough toast. "You got it. 2 minutes." 5 minutes goes by, 10, 15... I go to counter and let original cashier know I fell through the cracks and 3 other groups that came after me were already being served. "What's your name honey?" "Calamity Bob" She goes to check on it. I can see clearly no one is working on it. She comes back and says "they're working on it right now" 10 minutes later she comes out and drops a soggy paper plate in my table, with bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and white bread. 🙄😔🤯

Eh...they were busy which obviously we knew the wait would be long. When the food arrived (an hour later, and behind about 15 people who ordered after us) it wasn't all correct.

They made it right immediately but the quality and taste wasn't great. It's bar food in the desert, I get that, just cold limp fries after waiting an hour and an overcooked burger that was cold wasn't a great experience.

Beer was cold 🥶 though and aside from the prices made it a little better.

Watch what you eat from here we got food poisoning this past weekend. The ketchup had a weird taste, which I’m assuming they make their 1000 island with. Their lettuce was slimy and brown. The place is nice and the service is wonderful just be careful with the food.

This is an off roader's restaurant/bar. This is a well known destination for anyone off roading in this area. Don't miss it. They also host a lot of organized off road events each year with the various off road associations.

After leaving king of the hammers we decided to stop at slash X and the food and service was very good I definitely recommend stopping by if you're headed to Big Bear or Johnson valley.

Great fries and the fried zucchini sticks are even better.
A great selection of beers,
A great owner, friendly and efficient staff and they are part of harvest host, so you can overnight in the 40 acres behind the cafe.
What a cool building.
It’s a former bunkhouse for the ranch-hands that is from the early 50s
Lots off cool antiques and collectibles, so there’s tons to look at including a bunch of vintage dirt bikes

It's Slash X, it's a staple of the off-road community in Johnson Valley. I've ridden my bike here with my pops and his friends since I was little and now I've taken my son's there in my SxS. The staff is always awesome even if they are slammed on some weekends, they still pump the food and beer out as fast as they can. The atmosphere is great, total desert bar that is exactly what you expect and need after a long day of blasting through the desert. I hope my sons bring their kids here one day. Make sure you pay attention pulling out and crossing the highway, cars and rigs come flying through there without slowing down.

You have to stop here if your out there. I been coming here for 25 years never gets old good food lots of dirt racing stuff to look at. They have added an outdoor beer garden very large. Some live music . The service here is very good. The food here is very good. The staff here is always friendly. Never a bad meal or experience. Plenty of trails to ride right out of the parking lot.

Always great tasting food and beer. We always make sure to come by this place when we head to Apple Valley for dirt riding adventures. On holiday weekends it can get very busy, so expect slow service because of the demand, it's a small business afterall.

This is a great destinations for burgers and beer off Highway 247 between Barstow and Lucerne Valley. It’s accessible by off-road vehicle trails popular on weekends. The service can be a little slow, but the food is good. The clientele are self-sufficient folks who love the desert I know how to get around.

Great staff, food and lots of history in this building. The food is always great and the atmosphere is even better. I love to stop in for a cold beer and food, especially when they have a live band playing. Family friendly, a tad expensive but for a place like this, its always worth paying an extra buck to support a location that supports and lives in the Off Road culture.

Been going here since I was a kid. Its a nice family hangout when going camping or riding for the weekend. Some weekends they have bands play. Great food and always a cold beer. Highly recommend just to check it out.

I always enjoy coming here when I travel between Las Vegas and Palm Desert. I don't stop often but when I do my dog is always welcomed with his mean self lol I enjoy the food here just as much as the drinks. Customer service is A-1, food quality is passing and pricing is fair! Drinks will get you a little tipsy of course. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and the fries remind me of in and out burger. Pet friendly babes💛
