World Famous Grill (Bell)

My friend and I had a meeting in East LA, and it was our first time in that mostly industrial area. We googled for food options, and this restaurant grabbed our attention. We ordered rice and lamb, chicken rolls, and the spicy sauce that came with them was delicious. We also tried the white pudding, which was excellent! The servers and owners were so welcoming and nice. I hope I have a chance to be in this area again to revisit this spot!

The food was delicious. I can't even begin to describe how great it is. But the plates are large in portions, so keep that in mind.
I did request a special Lebanese dish called kibbeh nayaa (raw meat), and the lovely Em Ali made it herself for us; she is such a sweet and kind lady to do a special dish for us, and im glad she did because it was exquisite it's my favorite dish and I had it everywhere but nothing compares to this one it is truly the best one I had.
But all the other food we had was amazing. If you're in California, it's a must; the restaurant is worth the drive.

During our vacation coming from Germany, we were driving through Los Angeles and searching for a halal restaurant. We found this and had great food and very friendly service.

It's a BANGER!! Now and days with ridiculous prices for restaurants, I am taking my hard earned money to small business, mom and pop restaurants. The food is better and you get more bang for the buck then going to a large scale fast food restaurant. This place is amazing! Great food and great customer service and proportion size is equal to the dollar amount. The shawrama bowl was a huge highlight for me out of my 2-day binge at this place. I will be coming here again as a Mediterranean favorite when I am in the area.

When you need a Shawarma, World Famous Grill is here to deliver. The Shawarma was great and I tried the Chicken and The beef because of a confusion, at the end I won... They were both delicious and different. I'm still trying to know how the baklava was. It melt in my mouth. Next time, I will try it slower, but with the amazing taste, I doubt it will be possible.

I waited in an empty drive thru line for 15 minutes for decidedly mid Mediterranean food. The cashier got my order wrong, and was rude when I corrected him and asked for my original order. All I can say is it tastes like they’re going out of business. First and last time.

The worst tacos I’ve ever had. I ordered chicken and asada tacos, and both were extremely dry. The asada tacos were a joke—completely flavorless and inedible. The chicken tacos came with just some onions and cilantro as toppings, which didn’t help at all.

I went up to the counter to ask for some sauce, hoping it might salvage the meal, only to find out they were charging $1.50 for a tiny 2oz cup. Ridiculous!

Overall, a terrible experience. I wouldn’t come back here even if the food were free.

I got asada fries and took them back because they looked like there wasn’t any cheese. When I went back they said there was cheese and wouldn’t remake them unless I paid for them to get remade.
Both my husband and I looked at them before we drove back to make sure I wasn't mistaken

Hate to leave a bad review but I'm Extremely Disappointed!
The countless times I've ordered Grape Leaves in other locations, and its just rice wrapped in a grape leaf But at THIS location, they add beef to it and Don't Specify This!
I called to communicate this mistake and they said that ordering online gives the option to choose with or without meat. This is NOT true. There's just one option and it does not say with meat! They were unwilling to fix the order, unwilling to do anything for THEIR mistake.
I just had a few bites before realizing it's not vegan...eating animal makes me sick!
I'm in shock that they do not care...

Yes its a bit on the higher budget end for me, and yes it could take a little bit more than a few minutes, but the quality, customer service, the taste of this place feels humble, and welcoming. It is definitely worth it. Highly recommended, a staple of Los Angeles for sure.

We've been here a few times and never had such bad experience till this last time. Not only was there a piece of metal in my brother-in-law's food but the cashier was extremely rude and combative. They also took over 40mins to bring the food out. When my sister asked for her order to be refunded, they refused to refund the full amount. Definitely not going back again and I'm telling everyone I know about our terrible experience.

The owners are Awesome people specially Haji um Ali the owner Mom Che cooks and help out in every area in the Restaurant and the most important famous in making the Lebanese pâtisseries she make something out of this world very friendly people and they take a pride of their food and they make it very special with care and love . Try it out and see you will never be disappointed I guarantee it.

The lamb chops and rice was delicious. It came with pita, hummus, and a small salad. I ate half of it at the restaurant, which has great service, and the other half for dinner the next day. The food was equally good reheated. If you live in Huntington Park, CA or find yourself in the area, I highly recommend World Famous Grill.

My family and I drove 40 miles . Food was superb, mouthwatering, and clean. The meat was cooked to perfection. It tasted like the food my mom in Lebanon used to make . The owner Ali , and his beautiful and BLESSED MOM, were so welcoming, that my family and I felt that the restaurant was like HOME. Appetizers were delicious, just the way we were brought up. The Hamburger meat and the special made steak were succulent , cooked , and seasoned to perfection. Kebbeh was juicy, moist , and tender , with just the right amount of seasoning. Hummus was creamy, and delicious. Fries were well cooked and very crispy. The katayef were super delicious and light. The mom’s” znoud el set” invention were surprisingly better than the traditional one. Osmanleye was mouthwatering and surprisingly light. The service was Hands down the best we have seen so far in the STATES . The atmosphere was very inviting, which felt like we were eating at home. The whole staff was proactive and the smile never left their beautiful faces. My family and I would like to thank the owner Ali , his beautiful and blessed mother, and the whole staff who waited on us hand and foot . Let’s not forget the awesome chef Ali who is the owner’s nephew who was also responsible for this amazing experience, thank you chef Ali. Also we would like to thank the butcher Tony, who runs the meat section in the store next door. He did an amazing job cutting professionally our meat which we purchased to take home. The meat is Very clean no blood on the meat, so fresh . Thank you Tony.
We can’t wait to come back to this awesome place again. Thank you everyone who made our visit a great , and pleasurable experience. I recommend everyone who wants the experience of his/her childhood mom or grandma’s cooking to go and try the food at WORLD FAMOUS GRILL. Also for individuals who were not raised eating this authentic Lebanese healthy food, give it a try, you will not regret it , because the food there is made with love. 🙏❤️

Amazing Mediterranean food. The recipes for these fabulous dishes come from the grandmother, a beautiful sweet older woman who you will occasionally see around but her picture is drawn on the wall. She hand makes all the desserts herself.

I’ve been meaning to stop by this place for years. I’m kicking myself for waiting so long. First, the place is so welcoming and open. I remember when it was a KFC and I cannot believe how great they made it look. The staff was awesome! When I walked in they were joking around with each other like pals! Back and front staff! It’s rare to see such a positive team feeling like this! The manager was also very welcoming and gave great suggestions and was incredibly friendly and helpful. I don’t know what these negative reviews are talking about. The portions are great, and you get more for what you pay. The meat was quality white chicken breast meat which is no surprise because they have a carniceria on site! The meal felt homemade. The salad was fresh and the hummus tasted like it was made that morning. Great experience! Im definitely making this a regular spot!

Went with my son, they have seveqral (6) flat screens with news, and sports on. But volume down. Great food, good portions, great Hummus!!!! Very calm place. Very quick...for what you're getting, I think the are quick. Very, nice people. I liked the remodel, several tables 10+? To accommodate small or large groups, spaced out nicely. It's a great set up. Love the dessert case, the specialty drink fridges too.

I live in culver and drive about one hour to eat there! Always fresh, 100 % halal.
Never been disappointed, my kids and wife love it. This is an institution for my family. Where you have visitors we take them there.

This review is being written after us visiting this restaurant for a gazillion times in in almost a decade. The service has gotten bad year after year and renovation after renovation. Now it feels more like going to mcdonalds than going to a proper restaurant. You have to go to the counter to place the order and if while eating you need something you go to the counter and pay and might need to do it four times a meal which is an inconvenience. No more fountain soda. Grab a soda yourself and oay first. Then if you need another go again and pay. Ruins the mood of the family meal. No more cup water also. No one comes to your table to ask if you need anything or hows the meal. The food quality is also getting effected. If you order two of the same item both will look different. “Oh we put the sause on the top instead of the side” against what was requested has become a routine there. We ordered chicken quesadillas and it was just bare. Smaller seving and pricey. Seriously disappointed.

Spending $50 for three to four items what you should expect which is acceptable if the same level of service was provided like before. Bring our old restaurant back to its former glory pls.

Kabob combo plate. It was like $20 bucks plus tax. Was worth every penny! It was huge 2 hungry people ate from it. And i was starving. The steak and grilled chicken A1🔥🔥 grilled veggies on the kabob🔥 rice and salad were delish too. Hummus was so so. But don’t mind as the meats were good quality and tasty.

Food wasn't the best. You can get better elsewhere. The kabob combo is overpriced for the amount/quality. The meat is either overcooked or undercooked, some parts tasted burnt and others the meat was raw/undercooked. Even the pita bread was burnt. Rice was alright. They got rid of fountain drinks so you have buy single drinks which is hiking up your bill/total. Lastly, the service was just average; only 1 guy at the register to take your order and money but no waiter/waitress eventhough its a restaurant. Don't think I'll be back.

Tried this new place chicken was good , meat was tough, I ordered fries, crispy and got soggy fries sheesh never fails that killed my cravings especially when they have a TV in front of u showing all there food and I seen the fries they looked fresh and crispy but was a fail for me, rice was good and salad was a but minty for me, might go back to try something different or not , who knows,, the 1st impression is always key!
