Overall 9.2/10 experience. Would definitely go back. Food was fantastic. Had the bacon waffle, best I've ever had, 9.6/10. Had the eggs, super fresh, super fluffy, very tasty 9.4/10. Had the side of bacon, they did no wrong here but I didn't think it was flavorful but it was cooked perfectly 8.9/10. Ordered the pumpkin spice iced coffee, great taste at 8.6/10. Sausage was 7.5/10 only because of the texture but the taste was good. Staff was nice and the location was clean. We got a window seat and the morning light was very relaxing. Location 10/10. Would definitely go back again and again.

My friend took me here for my 45th birthday. I love their shrimp and grits. It's my go to order. The wait can be really long so it's good to get on their online waiting list on Yelp. The owner is very nice. He made a special mock tail for my friend and she said it was very delicious.

Update: Got to eat here again, ordered biscuits n gravy and got the French toast as well. Plates are different this time around as you will see in pictures. Plates were fulfilling just wished I would of gotten more gravy to really soak the biscuits. I miss the old French toast plate :/
Tried this place out for brunch before going wine tasting. Around 9.30 am, plenty of seating, not too busy yet....Ordered the raspberry French toast and the biscuits n gravy. Both were tasty and fulfilling , but the French toast with raspberries is delicious to die for. Customer service was attentive and good. Definitely a spot to come back to.

The shrimp and gritz was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Paired with a blueberry mimosa, it was the perfect dish.

This is a great breakfast spot. It's now located on Bellflower Blvd in that cute little main street vibe part of town. The atmosphere is so cute. They have rotating installations of artists' work in addition to a very all together adorable vibe. The food left us defeated and wanting more at the same time. The breakfast poutine was amazing and delicious. The portions are deep and generous, don't be fooled by the cuteness, this is definitely a place to eat a full meal. The drinks are a whole other level of goodness as well. I had a horchata iced coffee, and even the presentation was 👌🏽 There is a small menu to explore. Everything is unique and well made. This is a place to put in your breakfast spot list for sure. The only downside, of course, was the street parking situation. But totally worth it!

Downside was the service. We got there plenty of tables available and still the hostess said the wait was 20 minutes because they needed to get some orders out first (pickup I guess?)
Her attitude didn’t help either. She has no charisma whatsoever.
So we we waited and then a big group comes and they get seated before us. So I went to another hostess and i asked her about the wait time and I pointed to the table that was still available and that’s when the first hostess said that it was ok to get that table. We have been here multiple times and we honestly love it but today was a disappointment.

The best has been a staple in Bellflower for years. They have recently moved from their Alondra location to Bellflower Blvd. They are still in a soft open stage and you can tell but I love the new space. It's brighter and parking is more accessible than the previous location. The coffee and food is still the Nest experience. Would come again! Excited for the grand opening.
Update 12/24: Still amazing. The potato tacos are absolutely delicious. It's a corn fried tortilla wrapped in cheese and a flour tortilla. Great choice for vegetarians. The chilaquiles are also expertly made. The green ones are spicy so be warned. Everything was delicious.

Simply AWESOME! The ENTIRE STAFF exudes a high level service. I visited TODAY; and, I must confess that I missed the ENERGY and NATURAL VIBE that the owner's wife and son bring to this beautiful establishment! They deserve a DAY OFF - see you soon
WOW! AWESOME restaurant. I came to this restaurant unexpectedly; and, I was greeted by the HOSPITABLE OWNER who shares the establishment with his lovely wife and adorable son. The Grits and Shrimp dish is addicting, delicious, and oh so good! I can't wait to visit again!

I gotta say first of all the food is here is great always delicious. But today
nov 4, 2024 I was disappointed with the service I was seated by the host nice fella waited 10 min no one bothered to come to our table and ask us for drinks or anything. Multiple waitress passed by and just looked but didn't say anything. When I go to a restaurant I'm already hungry and the fact that I got ignored by waitresses just passing by really sucks. I know there is a note on the table explaining the soft opening process. Bit I. Reality uts not a soft opening anymore the science of the way it works has been there all that happened was transfer of location. All it really took was for someone to come to my table amd say sorry for the wait I will be with you in just a minute. Hopefully this gets solved because Like I said the food is great I was just disappointed with today's customer service.

They told us when we arrived that the kitchen was backed up, we were ok with that and sat at the bar. We received our food VERY quick! If that is backed up, we like it. The bar tender chatted with us and had a great personality. And we met the owner, best guy ever that he goes around saying. hii!

It was the worst biscuits and gravy I have ever ate actually I couldn't even finish it and I eat a lot. dry and hard biscuits with hardly any gravy ripped the top of my mouth and for $5.50 for 1 bacon and 1 sausage is horrible I will never return at all the scratch in Anaheim is far better.

Biscuits and gravy were dry and hard. Asked for a side of gravy since it was so tough to eat (worst then a KFC biscuit) and they handed us a shot glass of gravy for 1.50 extra. A bit disappointing since i saw good reviews.

This review is not based on the food, but the service of ordering ahead for pickup. Placed an order for pickup via website, was told 20 minute wait. Received text confirmation that my order was accepted and paid for with a link to track my order. After patiently waiting an hour...the link still showed my order was not being cooked. I called and was told that my order was immediately canceled. I did not receive any notification that it was canceled, nor did I receive notification that I was being refunded. It is still unclear if I received a refund. I can't understand why there is an immediate response when my money is taken and then zero response about my order after, especially after it was canceled. The dont allow for phone orders and now it seems you can't actually get food you order and pay for on the site.

We’ll come again. Dec 2023- Great Service. Short Food wait time. Short Seating wait time. Came from MN for vacation here and glad to find a place that shines above the other local franchise’s

We got there around 8:30 AM we had to wait about 10 mins to get seated. Everyone was super nice and friendly. Their menu is very small and at that time they didn’t seem to have all the items in it available for order. We ordered a pumpkin spice iced coffee and an orange juice. Both were pretty basic, the coffee was on the sweet side. We ordered an egg sandwich and an egg benny with sides of a mini French toast and biscuits and gravy. The food was honestly not that great the eggs were on the salty side for both orders. For the price I expected a little more from the meal. It wasn’t horrible. Is give it a second chance.
I believe they’re a new location so they might be working out the kinks?
The place as a whole is pretty cool. The drinks are cool.

I went today to get some food and I ordered coke, asked if I can get it sooner as I still waiting for my food, when they brought the drink the cup was full of ice almost to the top so literally the coke was just a little bit, I didn’t complain as I thought it should have refill. Before leaving I asked for a refill and I showed her how much ice is in the cup, NEVER BEEN TOLD THAT THEY DON’T OFFER FREE when she came back, i was so surprised to see she brought it only a half full I asked “is this how they represented to their customers”. She said yeah that’s how it comes with and another lady come and she sad because we don’t offer a free referral we just gave you this that was so rude, That’s what you get , so I asked the manager her name was Ashely actually it seems to be a management thing she said yeah because that’s your 2nd cup and that’s the size of our can 7.5 oZ ((that’s their problem))))so when you asked to get a little bit of ice that’s much drink you’re gonna get((((now I know why they filled up of ice in the first place ))))and we got going back-and-forth and my point wasnt 3,4 dollars for the drink my point was that’s how you represent the place and offer to a customer who paid over $30 and when she saw me taking pictures and she said that you can take the third one if you want .

Iced coffee flights. Shrimp and grits. Bacon waffles. Hibiscus mimosas. Chilaquiles. Need I say more!? This is the brunch experience I've been waiting for. Excellent service. Great ambiance. They were playing 90s hip hop all afternoon! Had such a great time I didn't want to leave. We were so full had to go home afterwards and take a nap. Is that not the perfect brunch? Totally worth making a little trek from Long Beach to Bellflower. This place is THE destination.

Time for a new review since they moved locations! First off, the new location is waaay better. More space, less of a line and both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is very similar to the old menu with some new changes. But what’s most important is that beef short rib hash is still there and better than ever! Prices seem to be about the same and totally with it. Great job Nest! You have made a seamless transition to your new location.

I really like this place. The food was good and the vibe was equally matched. Our waitress was very nice and the food didn’t take long to come out. We had the shrimp grits, the breakfast poutine. They also give you a sample of one other select item on the menu. Now with all of that being said, the wait was about an hour on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is a tad bit small and the occupancy is 40, so that could have something to do with it. We’ll definitely be back soon to tryout more items on the menu.

I came here for brunch with some friends, and we were greeted by a friendly hostess. The seating is comfortable with some interesting artwork on the wall, in a brightly lit space.
I felt the pricing was a bit high for most of the items, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. The chilaquiles ($20) was salty and one note in flavor. The onions and egg helped provide some nuances, but without it, the dish felt mostly heavy and plain to eat.
The coffee flight I think was $13, but had barely any coffee taste. The flight had mint mojito, raspberry mojito, and black berry mocha coffee. Maybe the ratio for the flight is different than when they serve it in the regular cups, but these were definitely more milk, syrup, and ice than coffee. It was not very pleasant to drink any of them because it was so sweet and mostly tasted like watered down milk with a hint of coffee.
It's a cool spot to hang out, but too pricey for me.

Love this place. So happy they moved to Bellflower Blvd. makes our whole neighborhood so much better. Great for a business meeting during the week or friends meet up. The food is amazing. My favorite is the short rib hash. But everyone’s favorite is the chiliqueles.
Parking is easy- street parking is free and there is a paid parking lot on the north side.
Highly recommend reserving a table on Yelp and then you will get seated when your whole party arrives. Gives u some time to put your name in if you know you are going and don’t want to wait as long…. Weekend wait times can be a bit long so best to plan ahead.

This used to be my favorite brunch spot in Long Beach. However, I came here today for the first time after they moved to a different location and was a bit disappointed. It's spacious but the music was too loud and the wait benches were stained. My chilaquiles verde was great but my berry and peach toast was very dry and had no berry or cream. Note that I had these dishes before at the old location and they were delish.
Overall, it didn't live up to my previous experiences, and I probably won't return.

I miss the old atmosphere. I guess I need to use to this one. However, the potatoes don't come close to the potatoes they use to serve at the old location. We didn't go for a few weeks after we tried the new home potatoes at the new location. My kids love the old potatoes. So, effectively, we are going less often because they don't serve the old type of potatoes. I wish they would allow us to choose the type of potatoes we want them to serve. Just a thought.
I just remembered. The restaurant is using pretty cold. We have to take sweaters just in case it is very cold.

I called in and placed my order I was told 15 minutes my food would be ready! I arrived after 20 minute and was told to wait 5 more minutes which was not an issue for me. Overall I ended up waiting about 45 minutes in total and the place was not even busy! When I received my food I was told the wait was long because they wanted to make sure my chicken thigh was fully cooked. I was so hungry I couldn’t wait to get home so I decided to eat in my car and when I opened my food I was soooooo disappointed the smell from the bacon was horrible I couldn’t even eat it! My grits were an odd color and tasted like oatmeal with a weird flavor i tried adding sugar and that didn’t help any better. I was scared about tasting the chicken because you can still see left over flour on top of the crisp. I tried a piece and it was OKAY with the help of the chalula hot sauce. Now don’t get me started on these burnt potatoes they call home fries, I mixed them around to find some that were not burnt only to find Parmesan cheese in the box but not on my potatoes like they tried to hide the cheese…I ended up wasting my money because everything went in the trash! My food should have been checked before leaving that kitchen…..They also need to rethink the way they package to go orders those boxes don’t make it any better….I’m sorry I could never come back here. But on a lighter note the restaurant was really pretty and had a relaxing home feel to it….

(Long review)I really wanted to like this place. The three stars is for the prompt and friendly service by our waitress. Total time from waiting until we finished eating was two hours, the first hour was just the wait time from when we joined the wait-list on Yelp. I believe that the wait time of a restaurant always sets the tone for the experience. I'm ok with waiting an hour, however, the hostess (can be given more things to do instead of just looking lost) has the job of letting the customers know what the wait times are or it will be longer than expected. Yes, the app can tell us this but it eases the mind knowing a human knows you're waiting. I noticed that there is no sense of urgency by the employees that are supposed to clean and get tables ready for the next customer. It took them about 15 to clean and set up some tables of a large party that left. At one point the restaurant looked half empty while we still waited. I think that the speed of your employees needs to vastly improve. The music was too loud although the type of music was good. When we finally sat down, our tables still had water spills on them so I asked one of the guys(waiter/bus buy, not sure) to please wipe the table down. So he goes and comes back with a second person who says it's just water marks on the table so he doesn't wipe it down, I can clearly see there's water so i ask him to hand me the towel to do it myself! Luckily, the guy I asked first had some sense and quickly took the towel and wiped the table. Anyway, I could go on but on to the food. The french toast was probably the best part of my meal, I asked for the toppings on the side. As my dish, I had the chilaquiles verdes with pork. The green sauce was too sour in my opinion and the pork pieces were too big and fatty. The coffee was a bit too bitter for my taste. When we were ready to pay, we were double charged for two of the meals, the waitress was nice and corrected her error. Overall, I am not sure I would return to this place and I wouldn't have anyone I know visit this restaurant either unless they have like 3 hours to spare. Something to note is that they do have signs on all of the tables stating they're going through a soft opening which sounds like an excuse for their longer than expected wait times to make up for some of the lazy employees they have working there.

signed in and was told it would be about 15 min wait, waited a half an hour, got a text that said our table was confirmed. When I went inside they said "oh that just means you checked in" (after a half an hour wait) host told us we were looking at another 20 to 30 minute wait. oh and I forgot the best part, the host was totally rude, like we were putting him out by asking what the text meant. We will not be returning to the Nest anytime soon.

I went in for the first time yesterday (02/14/24) although we had to wait a while we completely understood as there’s a note on each table stating why.
Once our food arrived I was very excited the presentation of each plate was lovely & a more than reasonable portion of food for each serving. We enjoyed each meal with their unique flavoring.
Moving on to today (02/15/24) yes we came back the next day. We all tried different plates & were left full & satisfied as they did not disappoint. The only item that was ordered the same as yesterdays was the Mini French Toast for its extremely tasty flavor.
I understand that pictures are a crucial part of reviews but with an atmosphere like theirs I chose to enjoy those around me & what they had to offer.

Service and food was great. The food was served fast hot, and delicious. A lot of parking. Since this location is bigger. The wait time is less.

I hadn’t been to the new location before, but not to my surprise it still has the same delightful atmosphere, smells, and delicious food that is excellent. Bacon waffles, pancakes, the mimosas. Dine in or dine out is a great choice.

First time here. Always wanted to try but old location was small glad they moved here. Only being picky because since biscuits are fried they are kinda hard like rock and I was only able to eat the inside price is also kinda high as well. Be prepared to spend. But other then that everything else was excellent. People, Atmosphere vibe.

So disappointing to see that the original location on Alondra has now closed. The location on Bellflower was never my cup of tea, music is always too loud, always too cold, not cozy enough, and not the same menu. They no longer have stake and eggs which was my go to every time, even tho they claim they combined both menus of both places. Bring back the original location and menu, the obnoxious people can keep this other location. Also what happened to the great people that worked at the original location? Just not what it used to be at all anymore. At first it was great food for a great price. The prices went up and soon nothing was the same after that.

We were told it would be a 25 minute wait. Sure, no problem. But at 45 minutes we began to wonder what was taking so long. We noticed other parties after us were being seated so we addressed it and they said we were next. Finally got seated after an hour had passed. We felt something was up. So we asked the server to be honest with us about the situation. She said they only had 2 cooks and food would take an hour. By the time we would've gotten our food we would've been there for at least 3 hours.
We went for breakfast but they expected us to wait for dinner to eat? They should've been upfront from the beginning when we checked in. They could've just said something instead of making us waste our time. I wanted to give them a try but won't be going back ever again.

I enjoyed my experience at the Nest's Bellflower location. My husband took me bright and early on a Sunday before having my morning coffee so it was the first thing I ordered once seated. By the way we joined the seating list online and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated.
The only real disappointing thing was the cup of coffee. I wanted a nice hot cup of regular coffee and not the specialized sugar bombs I saw on some of the tables. I was even excited when they told me they had flavored creamer because some of these restaurants today will still not enter the 21st century only offering half and half. Unfortunately for me I received a warm cup of sour water. I literally and discreetly spit the sip back into the cup. The waitress told me that's how their coffee normally was made to have a sour taste. So there's definitely some work needed there because how are you going to be a great breakfast restaurant when your coffee sucks?
When I couldn't have coffee I ordered a mimosa instead and the blueberry hibiscus, recommended by the waitress was delicious.
Anyway I ordered the short rib hash with the mini waffle with bacon pieces as my small side. That waffle, as small as it was had me seat dancing. It was so good. And as for the hash, even though the horseradish that came on the side was too tangy for me, and the short ribs needed seasoning badly, it was really good once we asked for some gravy and salt to add to it.
My husband ordered grits, bacon and eggs and a regular sized waffle. He enjoyed it. I tried his grits they were really creamy and delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice with the music not too loud which was great. I will definitely come again.

Had the best time, service was outstanding, and food was amazing. The owner Antonio came to great our table and it was like talking to an old friend. I felt very welcome and really enjoyed my time there. Will definitely be coming back! !

I was super excited to try this place after seeing they had biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were more like dinner rolls than flaky biscuits, and their sausage gravy lacked flavor, and sausage. They also give you very little for the two massive biscuits you're given.
I will definitely try this place again, but at it's price point there are a lot of other breakfast options out there.

Very upset with their ridiculous pricing. There is no way orange juice is 9$ specially from concentrate. The food was bland don't even get me started on their terrible terrible chilaquiles. Never again.

Unfortunately is too expensive for the food plus the service is not great, but don't get me wrong, the pancakes are good.
But I paid $21 for two pancakes, two eggs and three small stripes of bacon. And $6 for a cup of coffee and no refill my wife ordered the same thing and my daughter ate for free
My total was $68 plus $12.50 tip.

I came here with my for brunch with my family and before we entered the restaurant we were getting out of the car and my grandmother accidentally bumped the car we were parked next too when she opened her door. The lady in the car was extremely rude about this and treated my grandmother with the utmost disrespect. It turns out this lady worked at the restaurant. The food was very bland and way overpriced for the quality of it aswell.

Worst place for a good to go food. They give so little. 2 pieces of bread with a sauce. I waited 30 minutes to get this food. You will regret coming here. I will never come back. Waste of time, gas and effort coming over here.

This place is overhyped, i was expecting a lot more. The food was cold, chilaquiles were soggy, potatoes were dry and hard from the inside (if you see the picture the quality of their potatoes are not the best). Fyi if you order takeout they don’t include utensils nor napkins which is very inconvenient when you’re on the go.
I stepped in to pick up my order and the inside of the restaurant was very crowded and small it was giving me anxiety, no music either… they even had me wait outside for my order even though it was ready.
Paid $50 for 2 people… way overpriced

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. Terrible integrity.

Decent food but I was expecting more for their prices. If you ask for a side salsa it's an extra 3 dollars per serving plus each refill is charged separately. I get that there are places that do that but this is not even the greatest location nor quality of food to do that.

Generally a long wait isn't an indication of how good a restaurant will or will not be. Especially at The Nest. In this case, my disappointment is in the execution of what otherwise are interesting menu options.
The sweet potato hash was dry, brown, and had no outstanding flavor, other than the horseradish sauce. The sausage patties were served cold (not even room temperature), and were also very dry and flavorless. The custard french toast was doused in compote, which is all you can taste. These were all the things I most looked forward to tasting.
The shrimp and grits were very tasty, spicy, and creamy. The churro waffle was warm, crispy and enjoyable. Sadly those were the only hits for the meal.
At this price point, and waiting time, it certainly raises expectations. I hope The Nest can do better to meet those expectations.

Let me begin with the food I ordered a plate of green chilaquiles with no pork beef and for side hotcakes. The green sauce was super tangy on the salty side. The eggs were not fully cooked plus the pancakes completely raw and super nasty with no flavor. My wife order a small plate for are son the fruit was super old. The fruit was dry and freezer burn this place was not good at all. Hey ask you if you want pork meat on the chilaquiles plate and even if you don't get the pork meat they still charge you and arm and a leg for that plate not worth it. Parking in horrible 😫 the waiter never came back to see if we need something else after I requested an extra plate he never came back with the plate or to say sorry. Customer service really sucks they need more help in customer service. The wait time was 45 minutes no worth it.

Tried this place after a search of the area for breakfast. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits with the Custard French Toast for the side and a side order of Sourdough Toast.
Everything was fantastic and plentiful. Definitely ordered too much. I would definitely come back!

Such a great spot. Service was quick and servers were polite and engaging. Took into account a food allergy one of us had and notified the kitchen staff to cook their meal separately from any allergens. Nashville chicken was amazing, perfect amount of spice and with tons of flavor. Cheeseburger was solid, meat and cheese were fresh and cooked to perfection and the bun was the crown jewel. Got the big mimosa and attempted to split it with 2 people but it seems more like a 4 person endeavor. Portions were generous. For the price (a little on the $$ end) we definitely got more than we paid for. Absolutely recommend and will be coming back!

I ordered from here once before and I was excited to find that this place was available on Uber East’s today, u til my food arrived. There was a live and injured fly INSIDE MY SANDWICH BOX just walking all over the sandwich as soon as I opened the box. It didn’t even fly away, just kept crawling on everything. No way I’m gonna eat that sandwich or the other one we bought this afternoon. Complete waste of money and grossed me the hell out. NEVER again! 🤢
