Okay I’ve ordered just about everything possible here so it’s finally appropriate to review. it’s all so delicious and tastes fresh, authentic. You can taste the freshness, everything made from scratch. Love Carla’s red pasta sauce. If you’re looking for real food, not your typical restaurant with filler ingredients and over salted food, you’ll love it here.

Wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious; it was great to see and be part of the friendly vibe created by the owner and chef, Carla, as she chatted with everyone. It was nice to have a touch of Italy stateside.

We shared 3 plates and they were all FABULOUS! MY wife is very picky about Italian food and she said it was the best food she's enjoyed out since COVID started. Perhaps more notable was another customer who left as we arrived who said to the owner (Carla), "that was literally the best food I've ever had in my life!"

The especial, salmon-filled ravioli in creme sauce, was our favorite. We were pleasantly surprised by the squid ink infused ravioli pasta...Wow!The lasagne and pesto pasta were close seconds. What makes this food truly special is that EVERYTHING is perfectly prepared. Nothing overwhelming - nothing missing. Just fresh and quality ingredients assembled by a person who KNOWS how to cook. I don't know the culinary pedigree of chef Carla, but the quality is worthy of positive a Michelin rating. We ended with pistachio gelato and tiramisu - just perfect!

The owner prepares most everything to order, so be prepared to wait - it will take a while. But quality is never rushed. Enjoy. Sit back. Put your cellphone, and talk to people or enjoy the people watching or the fancy cars driving by.

Just a delightful experience. It isn't cheap. If you want cheap, there's factory frozen, reheated food down the street. This is real, Italian, prepared with passion and expertly delivered food. Mangia Bene!

This is by far my favorite cafe in Beverly Hills. Carla the owner is as authentic as it gets. She takes her time and offers some staple items. Her tuna sandwich is to die for and the bolognese pasta. the coffee is straight from italy, so the espresso is insane. i tell everyone about this place. If you are in beverly hills and stop by say Jonathan sent you!

Horrible -1 service!!! Brought my family here and was in awe of the nonsense we had to go through to simply place our order. The fat woman who’s apparently the owner makes dishes according to her mood and the lady taking the order kept telling us ‘she might not agree’ or ‘ She might get mad’ lmao! At one point that owner left the restaurant in a huff and the waiter said she was mad. We didn’t pay to watch a grown woman who owns the business throw a silly tantrum for basic requests. We’re paying by for the food it’s not free LOL. Ain’t cute Lmao. Beyond nasty of a sight. You should treat customers with respect. You’re in America so you know what customer respect is? Made us so uncomfortable and unhappy to even place our orders with basic adjustments . Clowns. We wanted to leave the pathetic place but we were tired. Never come here! Nasty service nasty rude people. I also recorded the entire conversation to play for my friends.

Enjoy a well received 1 star. I’ve got all my friends and family in LA and will let them all know of my experience.

We were absolutely starving after my wife had physio treatment for her knees which took longer than anticipated arrived at 3.10 pm :What a surprise to see the plate of my beautiful spaghetti Bolognese full with barely a bit of porcelain showing unlike some places that charge the Earth ...three twirls of the fork ... and its gone 🥴
Extra ragu .!!!... no problem ..!!!. glass of beautiful CA Shiraz.....! no problem !!! service exemplary both our dishes were very tasty all freshly prepared my wife had Eggplant Parmigiana exquisite just like you get in Italy : Going back ? Absolutely to try the other dishes and not just for the mains but for the desert as well .. and to see the friendly faces of Chef ...Carla and her waitress Assunta was very very nice !
Been since twice and quality of genuine Italian food Is simply delicious !

Delicious! My wife had the capri sandwich and a chicken salad and I had the bruschetta and Bolognese pasta. Everything we ate was high quality and very tasty. The owner made us feel right at home. This will be our new go to place.

This place is a hidden gem, small location but amazing food. Pretty pricy but worth the price for the quality and freshness, worth every penny.
I ordered the prosciutto and capri paninis, my gosh one of the best panini I’ve had. The environment is homey and welcoming, it felt like home. The cook is polite and obviously knows what she’s doing.
Most costumers that came in greeted her like a friend and can tell their relationship was genuine.
Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu items.

Easily the best place to get the most scrumptious Italian food in Beverly Hills. Over the week I was in LA, I've tried the Pasta alla Norma, spaghetti, lasagna, as well as coffee (latte & cappuccino) and they were all exceptional. Carla is the best host and always fun to chat with, I strongly recommend trying this place out if you're in LA!

I am truly thankful I met Carla and her son a few days ago! I never felt so at home because I had to stop by twice and I had handmade gelato! <3 She truly knows culinary art and this is an ideal cafe at the threshold of Beverly Hills. We were so pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Carla, the owner (and Chef) introduced herself to us. All of the food was extremely authentic. In our conversations, we discovered that she was from Rome and we could tell by the way that she cooked the food. The desserts were all handmade and extremely tasty. It is a small restaurant but highly recommend it for its authenticity and experience.

Owner had us cracking up.

Great food.

Damon ordered a homemade pasta and then wanted more cheese. The owner told him no why would he want more cheese on it it will cover up the taste. It was funny and she was right. (She ended up giving Damon more cheese anyways after she scolded him).

Then when we were leaving she called him Mr. Cheese. Haha.

Pasta is good. We tried the bolognese and the eggplant parmigiana. They were both excellent. Prices were a bit elevated in my opinion, spent close to $70 for these two plates.

This was a golden gem! Amazing authentic Italian food. I am also gluten free! Carla took our order and said, “ok, I’m gonna go make it now”, and she did! It was so amazing, hot and I even asked for some of her pomodoro pasta sauce to go!

If there was more than 5 stars to give for Carla and her incredible menu, hospitality and smile, I would give 10 stars...

Hands down, this Italian gem is one of the best homemade offerings in BH and stands up to the bougie trendy spots we all know.

From the Eggplant Parm, to the Ravioli and exquisite pastries, EVERYTHING is handled with Carla’s homegrown Roma hands and BIG heart ❤️.

And say “hi” to Biscuit when you’re there, as the place is pet friendly and he greets everyone like familia...

Da Carla is a true local neighborhood restaurant. I love starting the day here with a coffee and breakfast sandwich as all the neighbors pass by yelling "buongiornio!" to Carla. I've had almost everything on the menu and you really can't go wrong. Carla is amazing and makes all the incredible dishes herself from scratch. She's like every customer's Italian mother. Highly recommend the pollo panini, bolognese, and the torta della Nonna. Grazie mille Carla!

Wonderful small place that reminds us of Italy. I remember seeing the owner working as a waitress for Toscanova in century city. So nice to see someone working their up, from a waitress to a small business owner. That out of the way, her food is better than the best Italian restaurants in Beverly Hills. Try her pasta, from what I’ve been told, she prepares her tomato sauce fresh daily. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place for a quiet breakfast or a quick bite for lunch. I even go there for aperitivo after work… a glass of wine with a piece of cheese.
It’s not a fast-paced place by any means, so don’t expect McDonald’s order speed but it’s because the owner, Carla, cooks everything fresh from scratch. She’s a very nice women once you get to know her. Funny, and caring. Go.

This is one of best authentic restaurants you can have. I tried pappar deli it’s one of the best. I love the quality and authenticity of the place. Lot of famous people come here and eat. The owner is warm and friendly

I I have never written a negative review for a business before, but I feel the need to warn others.
Tourist, beware. I just got gouged… $70 for pasta and a piece of Costco salmon. This was after the owner berated me for asking for fish on my pasta (I wanted a protein and ended up getting it on the side) and making snide remarks about me to her husband in Italian (little did she know, I understand). I suppose it’s my fault for not immediately leaving after I was greeted as though I broke into their dusty restaurant - obviously unwanted there. Each table had food crumbs on it, the floors were sticky and dirty, and there was dust on all the surfaces. Or perhaps I should’ve asked what the cost of food would be before ordering it, since the salmon wasn’t listed as a menu option (but tuna was, so I assumed it would cost around the same - and since I asked for tuna and was told by Carla that can’t have it, but I can have salmon instead).
Best part is, she couldn’t even look me in the eyes when she told me my bill total. I asked her for a breakdown, to which she replied, “the salmon was $39”. Funny part is, even if the salmon was $39, the pasta was $23. That still doesn’t add up to $70 LOL. I was beside myself and decided there’s no point in arguing this.
I chose this place because i wanted a quiet, local, inexpensive Italian lunch alone. I saw other reviewers listed an average spending amount of $10-$20 per meal here. Carla sensed my intimidation, because, to be frank, she’s terrifying. Perhaps this is why she decided to disrespect me in such a way.
She is rude, aggressive and abrasive. Her husband (?) was trying to overcompensate for her miserable attitude by smiling at me. He was very clearly embarrassed by her behaviour… and I would have been too.
I don’t know how this place has as many 5-star reviews as it does.
I guess my advice is, don’t order anything without asking what it costs beforehand, and try to match her nasty attitude if you want to be treated decently here… or go literally anywhere else.

Wow. Amazing food with a quant atmosphere. Everything is homemade and worth the wait. No matter what you order you won’t be disappointed but I recommend the lasagna. Say hi to Biscuit.

This is a cute lil place with sunny, happy vibes. The staff and owner are very warm and kind. The food was tender, flavorful, fresh, and really delicious. We got paninis and lattes and were so thankful we found this spot. Would come back again in a heartbeat!!

When I first walked in to this cafe, I knew it was going to be special. The croissants and coffee is top notch and Carla the Owner really makes this place a homemade experience. I truly recommend this cafe for anyone who wants to have a wonderful experience. This is some of the best croissant and coffee I have had in awhile. I will be coming back without a doubt.

Such an Amazing place! I have no words to describe the incredible food that Signora Carla is cooking with a lot of passion! Such a tasty food! Such an incredible atmosphere! Definitely the best cappuccino I ever had in Beverly Hills, with fresh , just baked Croissants !!! There is NOTHING negative to say about this place because EVERYTHING IS MADE WITH LOVE AND PASSION!!!From the first time we stepped into “Da Carla” I felt the warm and nobles soul of this incredible woman- Carla ! The food is fine, but the prices are criminal .I was absolutely shocked today when I spent $28.00 for a cup of coffee, a piece of cake and a handful of tiny, tiny cookies, the size of a thumbnail…all to go. I asked the owner why it was so expensive and she said each tiny cookie was $1.50. I have been to the mist exclusive bakeries all over the city and the most expensive restaurants and I have never been charged this much fo hardly anything.

Went tonight for the first time after my daughter and husband, big foodies, kept telling us to go, how good the food is, like homemade in Italy and so we did. Very simple down to earth but extremely clean and the food was incredible. Can not recommend it enough. We sat outside which was nice, not fancy but lovely, I had 2 nice Pino Grigio's and my husband a nice Chianti both really wonderful. Highly recommend and Carla is a real adorable Italian lovely lady, chef/ owner, we will return often with friends and family!! The best kept secret in Beverly Hills, all fresh homemade ingredients

Absolutely amazing. I order eggplant parmigiana at every Italian restaurant I go to and I’m never satisfied. It’s never true to real Italian cuisine but this place is literally perfect. The flavors were amazing, the portion, the service, everything. I highly recommend that if you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine, that this is the place you have to try! I’m absolutely in love and this will be a very regular place for me and my friends.

Carla cooks from her heart and cooks up incredible meals! She is a Master Chef, who loves to cook and it shows! We have all had Italian food but there is definitely something very special about her cooking. There is a special "WOW" factor to her food ( after you've tried it you'll know ). Her food is beyond food on a plate; her food is part of the conversation. It's food you want to share with the person you're dining with because you want to taste what they ordered too!

The bow-ties pasta red sauce and eggplant parmigiana is so flavorful you don't want to finish it... but you do! Because it tastes incredible!

I am so happy I found this secret-gem of a restaurant and look forward to returning to try more authentic and delicious Italian food.

The food is better than any of the fancy places around town and yet it’s at a cafe and you can order it for pickup! I’m floored. Lol. I also had the eggplant parmigiana and it was fantastic. Italy is one of my favorite countries, and this is one of my favorite slices of Italy. The five-layer lasagna is hands-down the best lasagna I've had in my life. The coffee is one of the best ones you can find in the States. Carla is so friendly and engaging too; this place is a must-visit!
