Such a stunning lunch with my mom! Our waiter, Rudy, was very professional and made our experience a 5 star. Definitely recommend the Rigatoni vodka pasta !

Menu changed from past visits, so the specific thing we went in for wasn't available. Opted for 2 appetizers since it was late and the place was closing in 30 minutes. The Brussel sprouts were good and tastey, well cooked. The 3 flavor bruschetta was just ok. The night we were there, a couple of very foul patrons were at the bar, causing quite a scene. It wasn't relaxing or pleasant. The management could have stopped the drunken disruption and asked them to leave. What a sad display of public drunkenness, which isn't necessarily the restaurant's fault. But the other guests dining there had to endure an unpleasant situation.

The service was efficient and friendly. Our food came pretty quickly, and it was some of the most delicious pasta and pizza we have tried! Definitely recommend it for a nice, relaxed lunch in an authentic atmosphere.

First time visiting. Public parking was $5 after 6pm. Easy to make reservations on google maps. Staff was friendly. I didn’t love the seating area were they put us. Not much of an ambiance. Pricing was reasonable. Food and drinks were tasty but nothing spectacular. Great location to walk around and explore after dining.

Came here for the second time to dine, really love the ambiance. The service staff is very polite, the coffee is fantastic, and the freshly baked pizza is excellent. I particularly enjoy the olive oil with Italian balsamic vinegar for the bread before the meal.

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years, frequently visiting both the Beverly Hills and Topanga locations. While the food is consistently decent and has kept me coming back, the service at the Beverly Hills location is by far the worst I have ever experienced.

From the moment you walk in, the attitude from the host sets the tone: unfriendly, unhelpful, and borderline rude. Unfortunately, this attitude seems to extend to the rest of the staff as well. During my most recent visit, not one server showed any enthusiasm or even basic courtesy. Getting a drink refill felt like a chore for the staff, accompanied by audible sighs from the waiter.

This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed these issues at this location, but it’s gotten to the point where I feel compelled to share my frustration. It’s disappointing because the food is generally enjoyable, but the lack of service and rude behavior make the entire experience unpleasant.

Until the Beverly Hills location addresses their customer service issues, I can’t recommend dining here, even for the food. It’s a shame because the potential is there, but the staff’s attitude ruins it every time.

I walked in to this place since the review looks high in google and the price is decent considering the area. However, the waiter who served us is very rude and racist. He offered us to order bread and when I asked what kind of bread, his reply was “Of course Italian bread, no Asian bread here. Ciabatta”, with a smiley face and giddy tone. When I said I’m okay he also replied “Of course you are ok, I’m not a doctor”. I found that these comments are unnecessary and unprofessional. He quickly gathered the menu when I’ve just ordered one item, although we were planning to order more. I guess they were very busy, albeit some empty seats observed. I asked him for more water since they didn’t offer any, and he jokingly replied that it will take an hour. Upon seeing my frown, he said ok and quickly refilled the water. When I mentioned that an hour passed by quickly. He said “Of course that is how we do things here”. Boy am I glad that I didn’t live here then. I was dissatisfied with the service so we left less than 18% tips. The bill came out to be $95 and we gave them $100 bill. He was asking for 15% more. I thought tip was more of a courtesy and not an obligation? We added an extra $10 bill as per his request. The food was ok, but I guess the terrible service is the price we must pay for having an affordable Italian food amidst Rodeo Drive.

Food was honestly just OK nothing memorable but is a pretty nice setting to take a break. YET the service is unbelievable. The host mainly was the problem, I was there on Saturday afternoon 11/16. The host ran after me and accused me of not paying for my food. He made me stand and wait for him to check with the server” if she paid or not… “ I paid and left 20% tip as he was watching me the whole meal and knew that, no apologies or anything just guilty until proven innocent then get out. I can only say they assumed the worst or just wanted to embarrass me. I sat peacefully was nice and didn’t cause any problem for this host to come for me in this way. BEWARE of wannabe nice places like this they don’t hire people of high class and dignity

미국에 제일 많은 레스토랑 스타일은 당연히 American Style일 듯 하고.. 아마도 그 다음으로 많은 레스토랑 스타일이 Italian이 아닐까 생각이 될 정도로 미국에는 이태리 식당이 많다. 여기 Il Fonaio Cucina Italiana 역시 미국 베이스의 이탈리안 레스토랑이다 (물론 시작은 이태리 작은 레스토랑이라고 Wiki에서 알려주긴 했습니다만..). 주로 켈리포니아 지역에 체인점이 있고 지금은 20여개의 지점이 있는 대형 프렌차이즈.

이집은 밝고 명랑한 분위기 참 좋다.
Il Fonaio를 제가 좋아하는 이유는 채광이 좋은 밝고 뻥 뚫린 인테리어 때문인데 모든 지점이 White를 기본으로 한 밝음에 나무색의 인테리어가 편안함과 푸근함을 준다

Il Fonaio와 인연을 맺은 지도 10년이 넘었다. 클래식한 인테리어지만 무겁지 않고 산뜻하다. 음식도 인테리어를 닮았다. 무겁지 않고 가볍고 산뜻한 느낌은 부담스럽지 않게 언제나 내집 처럼 찾을 수 있다. 해물을 잘 쓰는 것도 이집의 장점 사진이 예쁘게 잘 나오는 것도 장점.
아내와 둘이 마무리 점심하기에 손색이 없다.

Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt, und wenn man draußen sitzen kann, hat man immer was zu schauen. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und der Service zügig und freundlich. Es gibt ein Valet parking, ansonsten mehrere parkhäuser wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Klare empfehlung!

People were very friendly and accommodating, despite during happy hour I ordered. Pizza eas amazing, so eas the cocktail and service. Had a fanatic rest in this restaurant in my visit to LA. Wish they come to the East coast too!

I love this restaurant! A buddy and I sat outside on Saturday evening and enjoyed cocktails, fish, pasta and salad - the only negative is that the adjacent traffic gets loud and annoying, especially when the Lambo's, Ferrari's and Aston Martins rev their engines right next you....

Other than that, service was great, my fettuccine and salmon was delicious and my friend said his sole, spinach and vegetables were perfect. The bread basket and caprese salad were excellent. Bill for 2 including 2 drinks and coffee, with tax and tip was under $200, which is what you expect to pay in Bev Hills...

Beverly Hills에 3주 머무는 동안 여러 이탈리안 레스토랑을 다녔는데, 이곳 파스타가 젤 맛있었어요.
해산물 듬뿍, 면도 알맞게 익었고, 양도 적당해서 좋았어요.

About 4-5 years since I was here. The vibe completely off. Food good but service and overall ambience lost or cold. Had to ask for water - not even offered it & bread used to be complimentary / when I queried it the reply was “oh that was pre-pandemic”. That is just sad. Read the play people - the salmon portion for the extra $16 was insulting. Arriverderci Il Fornaio.

We have been here last week during our stay at the Beverly Wilshire (what a gorgeous place). In the beginning everything went well, a friendly operator lady organized a table for us (6 people without reservation).

But that's all unfortunately. The waiter who served us had, hopefully for the restaurant itself, hit a bad day. But however I must rate on what was presented to me that day. He was short in communication with respect to the daily offering acting quite unfriendly in all his behaviors and the best, he refuses to take our order or he just forgot us even he passes us by several times but all waving and signalling doesn't seem to get his attention. Our two kids get so tired that my wife have to leave prior they ordered her lunch. So only me and a friend living in LA stayed and ordered one pizza to share.

Pizza was good but not tremendously.

Behavior became even worse after the lady's had left.

So for our next stop we will rather have to make another choice.

One more time the proof that a good service is able to make the difference, or as in this case viceversa.

Very bad service. The first waiter we had was very rude, and we had to ask to change him. He even scared my daughter, who said he wasn't respecting her personal space (nothing serious). The food is also not good, and other customers left saying the waiter was rude (the same one). He is white, with colored eyes, and an Italian accent. The prices are affordable compared to others, but it's not worth it. It was very uncomfortable to be there.

Had been here ~8 years ago, came back to host a birthday for 10. Given our party size, had to choose from a couple of set menus...least expensive was $63/pp, we choose the $80/pp...and not really a good value... chicken, steak, sole, or past as options. Food portions were good (thank god for that price) and the taste was ok (our memory was that the food tasted better on the last visit). The service was really outstanding...from Maria working with us in advance and our server and team were on top of things.

Dropped in the other day for an unexpectedly delightful happy hour. Happy hour is only served inside in the bar / bar adjacent area. It's not as pretty as the rest of the restaurant, but that's cool. The food and value makes up for it. My Como Spritz was delicious and felt kind of a strong (or maybe I just hadn't eaten in a while!). The pizza was very good. And the meatballs were kind of the star of the show. Would definitely return!

We got the triple mushroom truffle pasta and it doesn’t taste that good. We also got the Margarita Pizza and that one tastes good. The server is very friendly thou, but I don’t think it’s worth the price.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday at 1 PM. Ordered the bruschetta and Caesar salad which were okay. The butternut squash ravioli and the pasta with mushrooms, Italian sausage and tomato cream sauce were delicious!

Amazing Italian dining experience

Staff was amazing since entering always made sure everything was taken care of.

Soup was really good and hearty feeling

Pizza didn’t even notice I almost ate whole thing very on point the sauce everything was blended in very well

Got a seafood pasta and my wife different version with clam, mussels, shrimp and scallops it was delicious plus some enough sauce so you don’t eat it dry. Both pastas were amazing.

Drinks very good also, let’s just say we really enjoy our 10 anniversary

“Rita” the blue-eyed host and “Vero” a Hispanic manager/host made me feel not welcomed. Maybe because I was Black. I came in, ask to use the bathroom, then the host asked me twice if I’m a customer. I said yes. After using the bathroom and ordering my food, I temporarily left the store to go across the store. As I was leaving, Rita had this look on her face like “See? I knew she was not a customer. Typical” When I came back a few minutes later, both did not say welcome back. So weird.

On the other hand, Luis (the cook) was genuinely sweet and nice. I ate there on March 16th smh

Overall 3.5 / 5 - Service was very prompt and attentive but lacked warmth. It felt very academic. Water guy was so fast water was dripping all over the table and he didn't even notice and was off to the next table. Older gentlemen in a suit walked table to table and said, "everything good?". That's fine but if you really want feedback stop and have a conversation. Ask if there is anything that can be improved or be addressed.
Food overall was good. Pastas were great and calamari was just ok.
Atmosphere just wasn't there, even on a fairly busy Saturday night. Older fit out, high ceilings, and lacking of decor makes it feel just like any restaurant. BH prices are expected so all in all I'd give it a 3.5, round up to 4. Wouldn't rush back but wouldn't avoid it either.

Super rude waiter . "The bold big dude " - not that owner will ever care - the waiter is there for long time i can tell - im from restaurant business .He was yelling at next table : you didn't ask for bread you dont get bread after nice couple next to us asked after they ordered their meal- we ordered meal and appetizer and still no bread on our table 😉 - we were told we have to pay for it . 5 min later next table ordered all steaks and got bread for free .few tables after that too - we started paying attention out of boredom. We regionally entered restaurant with child to get happy hour food pizza as advertised in window - they told us - not today - after that attitude changed into ice - and both dishes were thrown on table in front of us , our appetizer went of plate , bruschetta flew 😀 . Nobody ever checked on us after food landed - however we were followed because we took the check and wanted to give it to someone else then our waiter for manager to read my complaints. It was ripped out of our hands by the hostess both by our waiter .

First time even in nice restaurant they treat you like that. No class in middle of Beverly hills - keep complaining here ,people do read reviews !!!

Sat us outside at the very back corner and forgot about us for 20 minutes. They were taking orders from other tables that got seated after us. When the waiter finally came, he said himself that he forgot about us. He took our order but after a while, tried to give it to the table next to us. 3 of our dishes only came and then the fourth dish came about 8 minutes later. Brought us the check and it was the wrong one. We were trying to get someone to let them know that they gave us the wrong check but we sat there ignored for another 8 to 10 minutes. Finally let them know that they gave us the wrong check and got the correct one. I noticed that there was a 3% benefits charge on the bill. I've heard about restaraunts charging extra server fees and I guess that's what it was. The bill came out to be $153 and I usually leave 20% tips, which would have made it about $31 but I deducted the 3% on top of another 5% for bad service. So I ended up only tipping 12% for an $18 tip. The food was petty good but the portions were very small. I would not return back here again.

One of the best lunch spots in Beverly Hills for outside dining, upscale casual attire place with nice ambiance. Seafood linguine is one of my favorite.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and the staff are professional and friendly. I loved the place and the food is very delicious and the prices are reasonable. A nice experience. I thank Jose for the hospitality and reception.

My group and I ordered family style, which is for sure the way to go! Can’t speak from an experts point of view but in my humble opinion this is the best Italian food I’ve had in LA. Something that surprised me was the truffle pizza. I’m not a fan of truffle, but let me tell you. That pizza brought out the notes of truffle in an elegant way, that was not overwhelming.

Deliciosa comida italiana; muy recomendado y para estar en la zona de Beverly Hills, estuvo bien el precio por una pizza margarita $22 la pasta a la carbonara $28 dólares más las bebidas 🍷 pagamos 87 dólares que por cierto estaban deliciosas!

The food is Italian (from an American perspective) and Delicious. See photos. The service was slow, but I think that makes it more authentically Italian. Being charged for something we didn't get and having to wait 15 minutes to get it corrected took off a star.

Came here for the second time to dine, really love the ambiance. The service staff is very polite, the coffee is fantastic, and the freshly baked pizza is excellent. I particularly enjoy the olive oil with Italian balsamic vinegar for the bread before the meal.

$80 for two mediocre pastas. grew up coming here as a kid. quality down and price up. service still good but my oh my the value is terrible.

Very disappointed by the food here, we got the bruschetta, seafood linguine, and stuffed chicken breast and everything was lacking in flavour/quality. We had two cocktails and one was good but the other tasted very watery. Would not recommend this restaurant.

직원 모두 친절했고 세심하게 체크하고 챙겨주셨음
미국여행에서 팁을 무리하게 요구하거나 선듯 팁을주기 싫은 곳도 많았는데 이곳은 22% 팁을 줘도 전혀 아깝지 않은곳이였네요 음식 분위기 친절 너무 기억에 남아서 또 방문 하고 싶은곳!!

Starting off.

If I could give this place 1 star I would.

The staff is demanding and manipulative.

We paid for our meal aswell as a tip (under the 18% as we could not afford the full recommended amount) from then the waiter chased us out of the Restaurant and demanded a 18% tip of which he lied and said it was a legal requirement to pay.

My friend cannot speak English and unfairly targeted because of this disadvantage.

Regardless of Americas “tipping” custom it is a choice not a requirement and certainly not something that should be wrongly enforced upon visiting tourists. The fact that this waiter acted so disgustingly is something I have never seen before. Even in our 3 months of travelling America.

This is the most amazing Italian restaurant I’ve ever fancied in my life. They created an angel hair pasta for me from scratch, and the pasta was amazing and then we had a chocolate mousse cake that was unstoppable.
If you come in during the weekend, please ask for Rudy DelaCruz, Rudy provides top-notch service. Please treat yourself to one amazing night out with family and friends. Noah was our waiter also and he was amazing as well.!

I 100% recommend it!!!!!

This place has met all of my expectations. I got the vodka pasta and my mom
Got something of the secret menu (it was a lemony garlic butter pasta with tomatoes mushrooms and basil) 11/10. We also got a chocolate cake that was DELICIOUS.

my mom has been craving that pasta all week she literally wouldn't hush about it and Rudy made her dream come true. Thank you Rudy :)

The location is great. Food was OK (tastes good, but the shellfish wasn’t clean well). It seems like they were short of severs. It wasn’t so many ppl in the restaurant, but I kept waiting to order food and check my bill for a while which shouldn’t be that long.

The waiter is not an honest man in this restaurant. He told us that we can’t order pizza because the oven is not ready after 40 minutes. However, the other customer get the pizza a few minutes.

Had my doubts about this place after we did some local shopping, but this was a hit! It did not disappoint. Look to spend $40 for per person, but it’s worth it.

An oldie, but a goodie. The food and service were impeccable. We were just recently in Italy, and this ranked up there. The pasta was al dente, the pizza was insanely good, and the Espresso martini gave me a jump start. Excellent waiters.

If you are craving for good Italian food, good ambience and service then this is the place to come. Great friendly service and the atmosphere is nice, we sat inside near a window which was away from the main door so it was nice and quiet. Ok Fornaio is indeed a great place to gather your family and have lunch or dinner together.
Whatever we ordered was made perfectly and was full of flavor. They served as fresh and hot bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
We ordered ravioli, salad, chicken, pasta, dessert and coffee. Everything was delicious.
I love the location in downtown Beverly Hills. If you're looking for good Italian food in Beverly Hills, this is your spot! Service was excellent and parking was plentiful. I have been to several Il Fornaio restaurants, and the quality of the food, service and atmosphere is always excellent and consistent at all of the restaurants.

It’s tough to get a reservation in Beverly Hills and many of their restaurants but I was fortunate enough to find one at Il Fornaio.

Although parking in Beverly Hills can be a challenge, I did find a parking spot close to the restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient and the food is always delicious.

The bread was fresh, and the butter was soft and light, which is just the way I like it. The Italian salad was fresh as well, and was absolutely fantastic. Needless to say the pasta with Italian meat sauce was out of this world delicious.

If you’re looking for a great Italian meal, very reasonable prices, I would highly recommend you check out this restaurant.

il Fornaio
We have eaten at the il Fornaio in Las Vegas several times and have never been disappointed.
This Beverly Hills sister was very similar in their offerings on standard menu. The daily specials here were inventive and varied enough to suit most restrictive diets. We had salad, an appetizer and a daily special ( the sole). All we very good, the sole was excellent. A welcomed surprise was the Pinsa appetizer. It was perfect. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the decor was heavy in the clean wood look with Italian accents. Service was very good and the wine list was broad and deep enough for just about every pallet. Overall this is a very good restaurant, good food and good service. We give it five stars or 4 clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.
