Ok so the food was actually delicious here! Was completely blown away by that as I didn’t know what to expect, but it was actually Michelin level nostalgic flavours. The service was very kind and attentive, and the decor has that cute old school Hollywood glam charm too. That said, some of the tables are quite cramped and you feel like you’re sitting with strangers. It is an old awkward building, but if they could make just a few tweaks to the setup and think about the customer experience at each table I think they it would really just take them to the next level of 5 star dining.

I’ve been a patron of La Dolce Vita for a decade and I am loving what the new owners have done with it! They’ve brought a refreshed and vibrant glamour to a historic place that serves classic dishes.
I recommend you order a few apps to share and I am a fan of their fish—you can’t go wrong with a Branzino!

I had high hopes for La Dolce Vita in Beverly Hills, planning to treat my best friend to a special evening, but unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. The ambiance was elegant, and the drinks and wine were enjoyable, but the issues with the food overshadowed the evening.
We ordered the Chicken Marsala, and when it arrived, we noticed what looked like a clump of hair or fragments of a rag in the dish. While the waiter was very apologetic and replaced the dish promptly, the replacement came without the original side of potato croquettes, which we were informed had run out. Instead, they served a lemon-flavored spaghetti with cheese, but the lemon was overpowering and threw off the balance of the entire dish.
For a $234 dinner, I expected much higher standards, especially for a place with such a reputation. Although I quickly paid the bill to try to salvage our girls' night out, the experience was disappointing overall. The server was kind and professional, but the issues with the food left a sour note. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning – this was a first and last for me at La Dolce Vita.

Absolutely amazing, show stopping, incredible. The name is perfectly fitting with all the leopard print and velvet decor. This is surely my new favorite restaurant in Beverly Hills. The wait staff seem like they majored in the service industry. If you want to impress out of towners, your parents, a date, or just want to be surrounded by people straight out of magazines this is the place.
The food not to mention is divine and worth every penny. Especially the tuna tartare, the pastas, and the spumoni. The cocktails were perfect too.

The EDDC kicked off 2024 at La Dolce Vita in Beverly Hills. Not a very large space but the three of us fit comfortably at a small table/booth. Ambiance was a little dark for our late night repast but well attended by a diverse and talented crowd.
We started things off with a negroni, chocolate martini, and a 50-50 martini along with the mozzarella di buffala and the shrimp fra diabola. The blue prawns were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of heat from the calabrian chili. Drinks were sturdy and the 50-50 side car was a nice touch.
A caesar salad prepared table side was next followed by main dishes including spaghetti and meatballs along with the bone-in veal parmesana. The veal was delectable and overshadowed the spaghetti despite the later being impressive in it's own right. We ended the night with a neopolitan style dessert balanced between pistachio, chocolate and cherry gelato.
Overall, a solid start to 2024 and an enjoyable night out at an aspirant for top Italian restaurant of the year.

I have known about La Dolce Vita for quite some time given that it was a former frequent stop for Frank Sinatra and many other Golden Age of Hollywood celebrities. I work very close to the unassuming building so I have been driving by it for many months but finally got the opportunity on Saturday to stop in for dinner. As mentioned the restaurant is very unassuming from the outside, I didn’t even know it was a restaurant until I paid attention to the small sign out front. Inside is a different story though, it has old world charm and is filled with dark red booths, low lighting, and is complete with a classic East Coast style bar in the front corner. Our server and the rest of the staff we encountered were very polite and all of our items arrived quickly from the kitchen. They don’t have a dedicated parking lot, however street parking is easy to find in this part of Beverly Hills or at worst there are a few expensive parking garages close by as well.
All of our dishes were fantastic. We started off with the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, which is prawns cooked in a delicious marinara, and the Clams Oreganata, which are Littleneck clams baked with bread crumbs on top. The clams were warm and tasty and although not many in number, the flavors were truly great. For our entrees we chose the Branzino Piccata, this was my favorite dish of the night mainly because of the piccata sauce and how well the fish was cooked, and the Lemon Bucatini, which was light and packed with lemon flavor. It was a great summer dish.
Overall a wonderful classic Italian dinner in a beautiful part of town. We both had a great experience and would recommend to anyone for any occasion although it would be especially a great call for a date or business dinner location.

It's a shame the food is so lousy because the red booth, Dolce & Gabbana-esque ambience is something that LA is missing.
Come here if you want to spend $90 on veal parmigiana that tastes like Dominos pizza and is later stuffed in a plastic tub to take home. Don't forget about waiting 45+ minutes even with a reservation.
I hope they don't hide this review like the one I posted last year ;)

We waited 30 minutes before getting a seat, despite booking more than a month in advance. We were told that our table was being cleaned and we waited another 20 minutes. Why lie? The meatball pasta was very good. But customers in a hurry dont have time to wait, especially when they are lied to.

I don t know if it s part of the American experience to be greeted by a rude, impatient hostess but that s what we experienced at La Dolce Vita. We had a reservation at a specific time, but ended up having to wait for an additional 30 mins to be seated. After that, everything went smoothly. The waiters/waitresses were lovely, and the food was good. Just expect some crowding and a bit of a wait to be seated. (Even if you already have a reso)

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the bad smell. The decor hasn t changed with the new owners and I think maybe they need to change the carpet?? I wanted to walk out but I was meeting friends. The food is just ok. The Branzino was decent and the bucatini al limoni was pretty good. The Cesar salad - which they do table side - was super below average, soggy lettuce! The wine list is decent but expensive for what they are offering. I won t be going back until they change the carpet!

Arrived for dinner after recommendations from our concierge. Beautiful LA weather outside dark, dingy and extremely loud as you enter. Clearly ran out of budget, no acoustic specialist was included in the project team! The noise is way too unpleasant and certainly requires two choices: shouting or silence. Given that my wife always shouts at me we chose silence - unlike the rest of the diners. Taken to our table for two but designed for a person and a half. Now for the best part - the waitrons. All under instruction to disgorge as much alcohol as quickly as possible, whilst pushing us through our meal. No Olympic sprinter would have had to endure such anxiety before a race let alone a meal! Could we get some toothpicks? Sorry, we don t have. Do you know why? I don t know, I don t make them! CLASSIC! The bill. Besides the extortionate US tipping habits that patrons have been groomed to accept as the norm, we were gaslit and guilted with an additional fixed charge of 2% for which we were assured ONLY went to the kitchen staff who were so deserving for preparing such an average meal! Of course, on payment, you are presented with tipping choices starting at 20% then 30% and yes, you guessed correctly, 40%! Does the US public not rebel against a system that protects poor service and simultaneously lays-off its fixed costs to the diners. Win-win but not for the diners! This protection of the waitrons has completely disincentivized waiters from offering quality service. This affects the reputation of the establishment but the owners are petrified to address this as they do not want to forfeit their fixed cost contribution generously funded by the submissive public. The malaise of wokeness! Let s deal with the woke but bring on the robots! Over to you Elon!!

This place was so over-hyped. For the prices everything should be excellent. Wine list is so over priced they should be embarrassed. Wines by the glass list was lackluster and overpriced. And for $28/glass they poured less than an inch in the glass. Caesar salad was delicious. But we ordered for 6 people and each got a few leaves. They brought two dinners 20-30 minutes after the rest with no apology. When we commented they said that s why we encourage you to order and share. THIS IS NOT a share menu!! Want more bread.. sorry it s limited. And the place is as dark as a cave. Also table for six was so small at most restaurants it would maybe have seated four. They tried to market it as a table that everyone would want to know who s sitting there .more like who s stupid enough to sit there and be that jammed together!! Avoid this place.

We were warmly greeted by Nicole and an old friend Ashley when my wife and I first walked in acknowledging that it was my sweetheart s birthday. This was our very FIRST visit to this restaurant. It was however all down hill from there. Bread was brought to the table and unfortunately the busboy knocked over the table lamp which crashed and broke my water glass saturating the entire table in front of me. Accidents do happen but instead of changing the table cloth they put two napkins over the saturated area which remained soaked throughout dinner. The table side Caesar salad was delicious. When my wife s pasta dish came to the table I had to wait 10 minutes for my entree (a $96 bone in veal chop parmigiana) to come. The server we had was very nice and had warned me of how big the veal dish was. He said I would have another dinner tomorrow. He was right. The veal was excellent and I ate only half. We asked to take home the leftover pasta and veal. A doggy bag was brought to our table before dessert. When the dessert was delivered I truly thought at least a candle would accompany the chocolate tart to celebrate my wife s birthday(acknowledging the event when we checked in)but sadly it was not the case. We paid the bill and left somewhat disappointed. What then made the entire situation even worse is when walking to the car I realized that the half of my veal dish was missing from the bag. I quickly went back and after searching was told it was probably given to someone else. (Nice surprise) The manager offered to fire up another one while I wait but I declined to wait around. He then said he would make a note in the system so that on the next visit I would get the replacement. Based on the evening s experience I am truly not sure there will be a next time.

What started as a very challenging situation with our Saturday night reservation being cancelled just a few hours before dinner turned out to be a reservation system glitch. We were called back and invited to dinner by the general manager with his profuse apologies. And our dinner was spectacular, as it always is at dolce vita. Brilliant Caesars salad, tuna tartar for starters. Followed by mussels, lemon pasta and branzino fillet with veges. A superb dessert to finish. The general manager could not have been more accommodating. So a glitch turned into a magnificent meal thanks to their spectacular customer service. Definitely keeping this fine dining pick on our list. Bravo.

Its a very beautiful place full of old Hollywood mafioso nostalgia. The food I expected allot I guess. But to me. It was ok. The squid appetizer was very very fishy. The ceaser salad they put together table side. But they dont make the dressing in front of you. They are literally only putting it together. I was expecting a la Del Raes where they smash those little anchovies in the dressing. The servings were small and not very generous. The drinks were delish. The dessert was delish. The baked pasta dish was good. I cant remember the name. But the dish it comes in was gorgeous. But I felt like the food overall could be better. The service was really really great. Very high end. Super friendly staff. Very attentive. It was around $600 for 4 people. It was scratched off the bucket list. Maybe Ill go one day for drinks only.

This place is very fun for special occasions, old school Hollywood swank, but as is mirrored in a lot of reviews, the experience is not necessarily worth the price. Went Sunday night for a festive Christmas eve outing with my parents and a close friend. The bill was around the 500 mark for a combined 6 drinks 2 salads and four entrees. We were told one of the salads would be comped because of a mistake in the preparation; it wasnt; when I followed up with the restaurant the next day via email I received no reply. There was also a truly bizarre wait time between the first two entrees (spaghetti and meatballs) hitting the table to the next (about 3 minutes, the branzino), to the final (lemon pasta, no protein involved, probably an additional 7 minutes after the fish arrived). We didnt make a fuss about it at all, just asked a passing server to check, but there was no fuss on the restaurants behalf at all: no apology, no offer of a comped desert or drink, no gesture to account for a dish reaching a table about 10 minutes after the other diners received theirs. The staff were all very friendly and polite, no one was rude or dismissive or disinterested, I want to be clear. But for the prices theyre charging people, and food that is perfectly enjoyable but hardly amazing, youd expect a little more effort to be made when addressing concerns of service and customer experience. If youre not expecting the service to match the price tag and just wanna dress up fancy and have some decent Italian food, this place is great. If you have loftier expectations you might want to look elsewhere.

My husband and I were extremely unimpressed with this restaurant. Frank Sinatra may have eaten there decades ago when it was owned by the original owners. Disappointing, overhyped, and overpriced: After countless recommendations, I went here for my anniversary dinner. The vibe was really nice, but not a unique experience in Beverly Hills, especially for an Italian-Californian fusion restaurant. Regrettably, the food was plain, lacking flavor, but with excellent presentation. The appetizers were unremarkable, two days have passed and I cannot recall what we had for that course. The classic spaghetti and meatballs were not, a delicious take on a classic, according to our lovely server. It was really basic and was served cold. My partner had the Veal Parmesan which was heavy but nothing special. I had the steak which was cooked to my liking, the sauce was flavorful, but didn t cover up the undesirable cut of meat. The drinks were average for the area and the price. I have no idea why people are raving about this place. I do not know if it was a bad night for the kitchen, but for the prices they charge, there is no excuse. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone which is a true shame really as I really enjoy the other restaurants in the same group.

Great vibe, food is good but nothing special. One comes here for the experience not for fine dining. They try to juggle a family trattoria experience with a more sophisticated LA dining one, with more or less success. Shrimp appetizer and the shell less fettuccine vongole were great, veal chop good, the other dishes we ate were not memorable. Service is impeccable, as it should be at this price point.. Acoustics and noise level are pretty bad which is an issue if you want a decent conversation but pretty great if the people you are with have nothing to say and you just want a fun time

Definitely doesn t live up to the hype. We arrived for our reservation at 7:30 and were told to wait by the bar because a few tables were wrapping up. We ended up waiting close to an hour and there was another party of 3 that came in about 20 minutes after us that we re seated well before us. We were told that they seated them because they were investors in the restaurant. A new restaurant should try to prioritize paying customers over seating their investors, especially when they arrived well before them. Our initial drinks at the bar were comped but the annoyance was definitely not worth the free drink. The food was average at best. The tomato sauce was too acidic and the spaghetti was cheap store bought dried noodles. The veal parm was the only redeeming dish that was served. Overall the experience was just frustrating. Servers were friendly and kind, however the service itself was exceptionally poor. We had to wait 15 mins for a table despite being on time for our reservation (at 9pm!) and had to stand awkwardly in the entrance as there were no bar seats available. The service was exceptionally slow. The caesar salad was made fresh next to our table, which was delicious and a nice touch. However, the other salad took 10 extra mins, which was disappointing as those who were eating appetizers were not able to enjoy them together. We then waited over 30 mins for our main courses. Branzino was good though a bit too salty. And, after all that time, it was lukewarm. We were too hungry to send it back. The server apologized for the delay and comped us desserts which was appreciated. When the bill arrived we all paid separately. However, after we all paid, we were told that we were given the wrong check and that we had to pay again and that our original payments would be refunded. However, none of those charges were refunded (it has been over a month) and we all have to individually dispute the charges with our respective credit cards. Overall, not worth the money or the effort. Will not return and I do not recommend. Parking: NO street parking, only valet for $20.

One of my favorite LA restaurant experiences ever. Yes, our group of 5 waited a little while for our table, but we got to hang out at the bar with the excellent bar manager and chat with all sorts of people of all ages. Service was great, everyone was nice, attentive and accommodating for food allergies in our group. They also gave us a round of drinks (and happily swapped in virgin cocktails for the sober folks) to make up for the wait. Food was very good, especially the lemon pasta which is hard to find in la. (Seriously La Dolce Vita team, thank you for having this on your menu!!!) Spot is beautiful, cozy, updated but you can still feel the old Hollywood feel to it. Vibe was super fun, music loud enough to feel like a party, but not so loud that you couldn t hear each other at the table. Can t wait to go back!

Food was so so, waitress was great. The restaurant needs to figure out their table seating. They sat us 45 minutes late for a 715 dinner, which was fine - we had a couple drinks at the bar. But then throughout the dinner, we were pestered by a guy who was either the head host or manager for the table back ..the first time (of many) literally being after just finishing the salads the table ordered. Wouldn t go back.

My only grump-there were 2 tables sat in the whole restaurant (pre-covid) and they sat us around in a hidden back corner, in the worst table in the whole place, where servers picked up silverware beside our table. I had the feeling we werent the type of clientele they wanted to be seen, which put a real damper on our special occasion. Less than half the restaurant was sat the whole time we were there, and we would have appreciated a better table. We should have asked to move, but figured they had reservations. Nope.

One of our favorites in Beverly Hills. Frank Sinatra used to be a partner owner at its inception. Ambience is romantic, service is impeccable, and the food is very, very good.

A quiet little gem in the middle of a hustle and bustle part of Beverly Hills. The hotel I m staying at recommended it and I was quite happy with their suggestion! Outside of the building is crazy traffic and madness and inside it s mellow and chill. Great food, great service, and a great ambiance. I ll definitely be back!

Great food and atmosphere but closing 40 minutes before the time listed for closing to me is very inconvenient. Say you close at 9 if youre not going to stay anyone at 915.

Fabulous old school Italian restaurant. Great food and staff. We stayed way too long and they didnt even ask us to leave!

The service is excellent and the location is easy to get to. I enjoyed the food that I ate. The only comment about the food would be that the penne pesto didnt have pine nuts (just the way they make it), which is strange for a pesto sauce. I didnt love how dark the restaurant is, as most of the patrons have to use their cellphones as flashlights to even read the menu. Overall, a good restaurant... but just a tad bit overpriced. Youre paying for the history of the restaurant and the location more than youre paying for the food.

Ive always been a big fan of this old school Italian restaurant. It really has the old school, very classic feel and look to it. The Arancini is my favorite here; yeah, its not an entree, but either way, its still my favorite thing to order. Ive ordered the pesto primavera numerous times and its always been consistent and delicious. The baramumdi special is really good. Service is great and has a lot of old school class to it...another reason I like coming here.

This place was amazing!!!! Some of the restaurant feels a bit hokey and fake (the brick ways are tin). However, the food is not. I got a 8oz steak that was the absolute, hands down, favorite cut of steak I have ever eaten. It was also cooked to perfection. The staff was nice but could have checked back a couple more time. If you can afford it, it will be one of the best meals youve ever had.

Old school cool and food and experience really delivered. Caeser was delicious... Chicken parmesan... Angel hair with Bolognese and broccoli rabe... And then tiramisu... All classic and yummy.

By far the worst experience I had in a restaurant in LA. We waited more than two hours to leave the restaurant without eating, because our order never came. Unbelievable.

Complete disappointment ! Ordered chicken parmesan and it was burned. Broccoli on the side was gross it tasted like and smelled as if the pot had burned and it got smoked and penetrated with the burn smell . Waiter came to ask how everything was and I addressed my concern. He then said oh maybe its garlic , sometimes they put garlic on the broccoli I said that doesnt not taste like garlic . He took my plate as if I was lying or in disbelief that I had complained about the nasty food. He then brings a tiramisu cake I HATE TIRAMISU I strongly believe if Im paying $30-40+ for a dish atleast make it worth the price. This place is way OVERPRISED for the quality of food they serve.

Old school charm and menu. Toast Frank and Hollywood royalty with a stiff drink and Italian comfort food. Bonus points for sitting in the Sinatra booth.

Cozy little place just off Rodeo Drive dishing out classic Italian fares. Five stars for this place catering to the stars. The inside projects a retro flair reminding the graciousness of the past, low lighting and solid wood tables. Very attentive servers dressed in dark jackets. Open till late even on weekends.

Had a dinner here with about a dozen colleagues from work and both the food and service were very good. Good selection of wines and a full service bar ensured all tastes could be satisfied. Butterscotch pudding for dessert was a nice touch and happy discovery. Style here is definitely that of an Italian eatery of the late 70s but they pull it off.

My husband and I have always wanted to go to La Dolce Vita, so tonight we finally went. It was outstanding! Traditional, classic Italian food in a historic Beverly Hills setting. The vibe was cozy, romantic and comfortable. The staff was so attentive and nice, especially Reuben, the manager. The food was delicious and they finish it table side, which is a special touch. I have had the chance to be dining at La Dolce Vita since 1981. I had my wedding reception there, Jimmy and Ava were wonderful. Every March 20th we are there. I must say I was disappointed last year however this year La Dolce Vita is back to being the warm loving place it once was. Thank you Guys!

This is a great place for dinner. The restaurant has a great back story about Frank Sinatra and the food is wonderful. We had the spaghetti bolognese which was great. The most outstanding thing here is the service. You are well taken care of by everyone.

Disappointed!! The restaurant had a good rating, so we decided to try this out particularly due to the sweet name. The guy at the reception was very unfriendly. Well, perhaps he does not know the Italian hospitality. The food was not comparable for the price. The fish entree of $35 is no better than Buca di Beppo with half the price and much friendlier service.
