My family and I love it here. Everything we’ve ever ordered from here has been exquisite. My favorite part is that it’s farm to table. It’s rare these days that a restaurant actually serves you quality food. The owner is such a sweet lady that wants to represent her culture and nourish peoples bodies. It’s a really warm and cozy spot. We get the truffle Mac and cheese, garlic noodles, burgers, chicken sandwich, and some of the Indonesian dishes. Please come and support local businesses

Drove all the way here to find out it was closed even though Google maps and their website says they’re open until 9pm on a Thursday. Tried calling and the phone rang through. It also shows they were open and operating on the food delivery apps too. Very disappointed - please do a better job of updating your site with the correct operating hours.

I personally feel like the best wagyu burgers in town are here at Blasteran. Been coming here for years to get my burger fix and their wagyu burgers always live up to my cravings. The truffle mac and cheese is also delicious but on the heavier side. These are pricier so I like to come here for special occasions. Street parking in a popular area. Garlic parm fries are also a delicious side but I like the burgers best.

From the moment we walked in the service was a notch above the rest. They were brightening my day, one joke at a time. I ordered the Blasteran Burger and was slightly disappointed. It was $27 and about a 6/10. The fries on the other hand were something to write home about! The garlic parmesan fries were likely the best fries I've ever tasted. My mother ordered the fish plate and said it was "tasty". We ordered the French Toast for dessert it was very soft and very good. I would definitely recommend it!

Deliciously prepared plant-based burger, likely one of the best I’ve enjoyed in LA. The bun to burger ratio was on point. The herbivore was filled with avocado, red onions, lettuce, tomato , vegan cheese, arugula, and cashew remoulade. Mouth-watering goodness. The mixed green salad had crispy lettuce, cherry tomatoes, finely shredded carrots, and a bright refreshing dressing. The only reason I didn’t give this five stars is due to the price of the burger ($28 for the burger only). Adding the mixed green salad was an additional $5. Had I chosen fries it would have been an additional $7+. Food was delicious no doubt, but pricey for a burger. Nice atmosphere and friendly servers. Metered parking available, no valet.

There is something special about their fish and chips lunch special.

Their fish is actively decomposing and they decided to fry it up and serve it to me anyways. They charge $20 for a small portion and the fish absolutely wreaks of ammonia/lysol. Hallmark sign the fish has gone bad.

I sent it back and wasn't charged but I wouldn't eat anything here!
I have to go back to work and hopefully not have to go to Cedars Emergency Room for food poisoning

I had the pleasure of dining at Blasteran with five of my vegetarian friends last week, and we were all blown away by the incredible food and atmosphere. The classic veggie-forward American menu with some Indonesian dishes was absolutely delicious, and the unfussy setting was just perfect for a casual night out.

As a vegetarian myself, I always appreciate when restaurants go above and beyond to cater to our dietary needs, and Blasteran definitely did not disappoint. From the flavorful vegetable skewers to the perfectly cooked tempeh, every dish was bursting with flavor and packed with fresh, wholesome ingredients.

The service was also exceptional - our waiter was attentive and friendly, and made sure our experience was nothing short of perfect. Overall, I highly recommend Blasteran to anyone looking for a delicious vegetarian meal in a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Thank you for the wonderful evening!

Best regards,
George Anton

The Branzino with curried risotto was amazing!! Both the presentation and the flavors were exceptional. The churros with caramel sauce were the perfect dessert. When I arrived for dinner, the restaurant was at about 20% capacity. Upon getting my meal, I asked the waiter to please confirm with the chef that the risotto was dairy-free as ordered. I wanted to know what made the sauce so creamy. I asked the question on three different occasions and never got a clear answer. I asked for my bill three times. I asked for coffee twice and never got it. The waiters kept telling me that they were really busy and that the kitchen was, as well. Yes, the restaurant started filling up very quickly. However, that shouldn’t keep the waiters and kitchen from accommodating their guests. Before leaving, I wanted clarification on the risotto ingredients. At this point, one of the waiters became rude and dismissive. He raised his voice and then ignored me. Neither one of the waiters would give me his name. I’ve never been treated so poorly in a restaurant. I was in disbelief at his behavior. I understand that the staff and kitchen was overwhelmed. That doesn’t give them the right to ignore and mistreat their customers.

My friend and I split the Blasteran and BBQ Burger and the parmesan garlic fries. The fries were great. Not too crispy but very flavorful and the addition of dill was a nice addition to break up the richness from the garlic and parm. The BBQ burger was a bit too much. Everything on it was great individually and I liked how the pickles were cut lengthwise, but the flavors didn’t blend well and the blue cheese was too overpowering, and I like blue cheese. The Blasteran Burger is everything you want from a steak house burger. It melts like butter, the caramelized onions provide an amazing sweetness and the Parmesan crisp gives a nice crunch and bite. I do think it could use some acidity with the addition of either pickles or pickled onions to break up the butteriness of the burger. So over all, Fries 4/5, BBQ Burger 3.9/5, Blasteran Burger 4.5/5.

Review №65

Let me start by saying the service is impeccable. Really kind staff and owner, and loved the complimentary shrimp chips.

That said, the food is, unfortunately, not that good in my opinion. It’s extremely overpriced for what it is.

The karaage burger is overly wet, not crunchy enough, and the spicy sauce isn’t very spicy or interesting. The slaw on it, however, is quite good. The shishitos were flattened, wet, and served no purpose in the sandwich. Would be better on the side.

The salt and pepper fries were lackluster as well. I was expecting tons of freshly cracked black pepper. Dipping sauces were plain mayo and ketchup. For $26 for sandwich and fries you would expect a special fusion aioli or remoulade. If it was $10 cheaper, I think that would be much more reasonable.

As for the nasi goreng, way too salty and dry.
And should be more around $18, not $26.

And the automatic gratuity added for a table under 5 people, I found to be a bit excessive but, fine. People have to make money.

That said, If you want affordable, tasty, authentic Indonesian food, I would check out Simpang Asia in Venice or Palms.

We went there last night.
We heard that this is where the diplomats and delegates come feast!

We ordered Gado gado and laksa.

Raw and boiled vegetables tossed and rolled in peanut sauce. Not just lazy peanut sauce, this one is well prepared. You can all the spices they put in it, subtly and singing together really well. Really amazing recipe!

And the laksa. Don’t get me started. I inhale the broth until the last drop. Thick, rich, bold, balanced yellow broth. It’s so balanced and umami it activates your whole tongue, perfectly sweet spicy tangy salty rich liquid.
You can tell that they’re using fresh herbs and spices. Big fresh prawn and soft squishy fried tofu. Perfect portioning.

Service was excellent. Tall good looking fella with bright smile ready to take all inquiry promptly.
Very accommodating, engaging and even the owner is very welcoming, respectful and friendly without being too intrusive.

The lighting was on point, enough spacing provided, music was tasteful and at the right volume so you don’t have to yell to talk to your friend beside you.

All in all are a great experience for both of us!

The food was good and the waiter was amazing. However the only reason I’m leaving a 3 star is because the lady I believe to be the owner of some sort, Asian I believe, was very off putting. I’m not sure if it was due to the color or my skin ( being black) but she made a point to speak to and address everyone in the restaurant with the exception of me. I just visited today with my two small children and that was extremely rude. I find it very unseemly.

She definitely made it a point to single me out and not speak. I spent money just like everyone else and expect to be treated the exact same way. I am a business owner and own 3 businesses along with my husband and would have never excluded one of my customers. For that reason I will chose to spend my money elsewhere in the future.

Like I said the only reason I gave a few stars was due to fact the waiter was very pleasant and the food was nice but not the best. Otherwise I wouldn’t have left the rating I did.

I hope they do better.

After visiting a friend in BH we were looking for a place to eat and came across this little gem which just happened to be right next to where we were parked. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a very welcoming staff and a beautiful ambience. My friend ordered the Garlic Noodles with shrimp and scallops while I ordered the NY Steak Plate. When the food arrived, we were both blown away. For her, both the scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly as most places tend to over cook them. As for my steak, it was hands down in the top 3 I’ve ever had while dining out, and I am a complete steak snob. It was cooked just as ordered, the seasoning was perfect, requiring no extra salt, and the sear was on point. One of our favorite meals at any place across the US and Europe. And to top it off, the owner introduced himself and engaged in conversation while we sipped wine and waited for our meal. His hospitality was more than we could have ever asked. I can not recommend this establishment enough! To the owner, thank you for everything that evening, as we truly enjoyed our experience!

Not much of the ingredients are stated, so we can assume the breads they use here have sugar and other junk in them. In order to get something at reasonable cost and still consume a decent amount of protein, I went for the shrimp tacos, since whatever ingredients they DO tell you about seemed modest, and I ordered a side of sliced tomatoes to ensure my daily veggies without worrying about unknown junk in the food. When I finally opened the package to see what the shrimp tacos looked like--much to my surprise, they were fried!!! And nowhere on the description of the item does it say that the shrimp are fried! There's just too much cheating going on in the restaurant industry. They should give an option between fried or grilled! But as long as the "owner is nice" and there are "good people with good vibes," let our health be damned!

A cute fusion, farm to table restaurant in Beverly Hills. We parked on the street right in front of the restaurant.
We came during off-lunch hours on a Tuesday afternoon so there was no wait.

The interior was nice and spacious but it was fairly empty during our time there. I can see it being a bit cramped and chaotic if it were to be packed but that might be a vibe too. They had a few tables outside in their porch area.

Service is exceptional. Attentive and very kind. Loved the vibe the servers created. They had fun conversations amongst each other and that was really cool to hear/see. Seemed like a fun & chill place to work.

Food
- 2 Korean galbi tacos with tortilla soup. The tacos were stuffed with meat and veggies. Loved the chipotle crema. It was a yummy burst of flavors. Tortilla soup was a good combination with the tacos. Easy to eat. Good flavors and seasoning!
-Garlic noodles with scallops. I was very impressed with the noodles! They were good on their own. The perfect amount of garlic. So many places go over or under with the garlic but these noodles were garlic perfection. The scallops were juicy and elevated the dish.
-Parmesan fries. These were sooooo crispy! I love when the outside is crisp and the inside is soft and thick.

We will definitely come back to try the burgers and truffle fries *drool*. Another customer had ordered the Blasteran burger and it got everyone's attention.

Such delicious vegetarian/vegan options are available. and a few more too on request. Staff and owners are super friendly. And so quick to find you (in case you accidentally leave your credit card and walk out) to return your stuff! Thank you so much for the very tasty food!

if you're hankering for a little Indonesian flavor, go here.

Went for dinner with friends before going to a concert at the Saban (around the corner).
Had Cowboy Burger made with wagyu beef and truffle fries. ($25+6) Food tasted pretty good and fries were delicious. But my favorite was the French toast bread pudding with ice cream! Only wine and beer for alcohol.
We got there at 5:40pm and it was quiet but got steadily busier as night went on.
Service was not as attentive as that happened, which would have been fine but we had a concert to go to. Pretty good overall

Clean bathrooms and free street parking on Sundays. Walked to Saban after dinner.

This place was amazing! We live in the neighborhood and decided to check it out. Everyone, and I mean everyone, that worked there was extremely nice, super professional, and made us feel welcome! Welcome! The food was really good, the menu is fairly eclectic, the atmosphere was great, and we will be back there within the week.
Usually when you go to a place and everyone there is nice, it means that the management is nice. One of the owners was there who we have to talk to and she was amazing as well!
I seriously cannot recommend this place enough!

Over rated and over priced. Average decor with zero aesthetics especially outside and some old and work down furniture. Food was decent but way over priced for the quality and quantity. Indonesian for those who have never been there maybe. The beef rendang was like a carbonar from Flanders and the yakisoba noodles were bland with a piece of grilled chicken on the side. Sadly not worth the money. Service was good and very nice and pleasant. Might come back for the burger which they seem to be raving about.

The atmosphere was great for a lowkey evening out or date. It had ambient lighting and some chill music. The food itself was absolutely amazing. I had the chicken karaage sandwich which was very juicy and crispy. The Caesar salad was very good and do not forget about those fries. They were very light crispy and all house made. I would come back just for some fries. They also brought out house made shrimp chips which were very good. 10/10 would come again

Absolutely wonderful setting and atmosphere. You get this upscale, elegant vibe yet, modern and not so out of reach. We had the mediocre rendang, exceptionally presented Laksa & the Garlic noodles with the very expensive 3 "colossal" shrimp. Honestly, the taste nor, the portions are worth the price. The burgers and breakfast menu may be better but the service wasn't necessarily preferable and I didnt get to order the Swordfish which was on the dinner menu (during dinner hours) but would've needed us to wait over an hour before they could begin cooking it.

Way overpriced for what it is. Had one of their hamburgers that had so much mayonnaise on it you could barely taste the burger. Seriously $20 for a mediocre burger and the fries aren't included what is this world thinking. Their menu is all over the board, and it's reflected in the quality. Service was terribly slow, all that I ordered was a burger and it took an hour and a half to eat and get out of the restaurant. Would not recommend this restaurant even if starving.

Delightful and unexpected. We discovered this under-the-radar gem driving by while returning home from picking up a friend at LAX. Seeing several people dining for brunch outside we decided to stop for a bite. The soothing, tasteful ambiance and subdued lighting put us in a good mood from the beginning. Then the waitstaff proved to be uniformly professional, friendly and helpful. Both our breakfast choices - a uniquely styled avocado toast on a baguette boat and a melt-in-your-mouth breakfast burrito - were far far better than they needed to be. Finally, the co-owner Landon introduced himself and charmed us with his fascinating life story. Now our appetites are whetted to taste many more dishes on the eclectic menu. We can't wait to go back!
