So to share an honest review disregarding the hype of a “celebrity” spotting, the food is actually good. But the serving sizes are about half of what you would expect and twice the price you would expect. So basically you’re paying a 400% mark up. Yeah, it’s Beverly Hills, but so what? It’s the equivalent of paying $20 for a drip coffee at Starbucks.
The best value - their own Mr Chow “Private Reserve” Cabernet for $85/bottle. Seriously - it’s a decent and drinkable wine and the best value on the menu. Paying $60 an entree that barely feeds one person is a joke.
Yes, the vibe is good but lucky to see a washed out B or C actor there if any. Just a bunch of Hollywood wannabes who think they are cool they can afford the place.
Best is if you are with a bunch of people on business and expense is not an issue. It is good, but no value for your dollar. Kind of like an over-hyped AI stock or crypto stock !

Mr. Chow is a very famous and polarizing restaurant that also has a lot of pop culture influence in LA. They have many other locations: Vegas, Miami, London, New York, and a few others. The inside is like a mid 90s time capsule and pretty much everything else is from the same time period, as well. When we sat down, they brought us a food menu and also a merch menu. You can really tell what sort of place you are in when you are handed a merch menu before you even order your food. They are well known for their high prices and great service and even though it is a bit retro I really did enjoy the 90s aesthetic on the inside. They offer valet parking for $15 but honestly street parking or garage parking is easy to find in Beverly Hills. Our server was very polite and attentive, as well as the rest of the staff we encountered. All food items are brought out on a silver plate and served directly in front of you. It’s almost a time capsule of how fancier restaurants in bigger cities in the 90s would serve their clients.
One of the biggest issues I had with our dinner was the pricing. It is ridiculously expensive for fairly small sized portions. I honestly felt a little hungry after I finished dinner so this is not this sort of place I would go to after a long hike or game. I had to start off with a Chicken Satay because it is one of their most famous dishes, and honestly, I can see why. It is expensive for $16 per chicken satay but the flavors were tremendous. Some of the best I’ve ever had. We also ordered the Ma Mignon and Sweet and Sour Pork. The mignon was fairly good, although not nearly as good as a filet mignon @ Mastro’s or one of the other high quality steakhouses in the area, but the pork was exceptionally good and something I would definitely order next time. It was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and just had great flavors. The desserts were two cheesecakes and a fruit tart so I ended up passing on those.
Overall, a really nice experience, some pretty good food, but really unfair pricing. I get that Beverly Hills rent is expensive, but I don’t believe that should be taken out on the diners.

so the main positives are that staff was extremely welcoming and attentive. some dishes were good, especially the prawns we got as a starter.
but… i really couldnt believe how expensive the food was for the quality. it’s definitely not better than any other Chinese restaurant. the worst was the filet mignon- it had a spongy texture, which usually is indicative of something that has been repeatedly frozen and thawed, or improperly vacuum sealed, either way it seemed like it wasn’t fresh or cooked correctly. none of the other food felt particularly fresh. i dont think the desserts are made in house either, the cheesecake seemed like ralphs cheesecake.
the decor was cute in a kind of kitschy way, the music was pretty bad, upbeat pop music is a strange choice. the layout was also strange, with makeshift screens right at the entrance, and what appeared to be an entire other dining room that was unused while the main room everyone sat in was cramped…
yang chow, gengis cohen, and northern cafe are all places that cost about 1/3rd as much and have better food in my opinion.

Ehh…….not impressed & don’t get the hype. Wait… yes, I do. People like that it’s in Beverly Hills & hope to spot a celebrity, right?
Let me be fair- The staff was great & the customer service was on point but here’s the downside: the food.
The food just doesn’t justify the prices. It’s pretty average, if that—honestly, it might even be below average. You’re better off heading to Chinatown for a better (& more affordable) meal. But if you’re looking for an experience or are into the whole “tourist” vibe, then by all means, come on over!
That said, it’s nice to see a long-time staple still in business here. It’s got that nostalgia factor going for it.

I had the pleasure of dining at Mr Chow in Beverly Hills, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the elegant atmosphere and attentive staff made us feel like VIPs. The menu offered a fantastic selection of dishes, and each one we tried was a masterpiece. The Beijing Duck was particularly exceptional, perfectly crispy and flavorful. The staff was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations, enhancing our dining experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an exquisite meal, Mr Chow is the place to go. Highly recommend!

I remember celebrating my sister’s birthday at this restaurant before 2020. She was so happy to get a reservation. It was about 10 people (family/friends), so we made sure to be early. The staff greeted us with open arms, however, when they found out that we were not “celebrities”, things changed. We were stuck into the smallest area in the restaurant even though we were the first people to arrive at the restaurant. We were lie to about the menu items by the waiter for which he suggested that a la carte was best for our group size. The menu didn’t say that their a la carte items were served on small plates which was not even enough food for one person. We ordered other food to feed everyone and tried not to make a scene, even though we were very much disappointed ☹️ 🤬😡. Why would you/waiter do this?? He knew it was a celebration 🥳 Then to top it off, we were over charged for the “so call” meals. Again, my family paid without making a scene and left. 😡🤬☹️🙃 It was so sad 😞 to be treated that way and he was expecting to receive a tip. No, we didn’t leave him anything. If he would have treated us like customers/celebrities, he would’ve made a very, very good tip. This experience left a bitter/sweet feeling with all of us. Forgiven, but never forgotten 😌 Hope restaurant staff improved on their “customer service” skills. (I wish I had wrote this sooner).

Big show for nothing !!
Amazing service scene then huge disappointment from the food
We started with chicken satai Wes ok. Vegetable dumplings, tasteless. Ordered their noodles we never received
The crispy beef was a JOKE!!!! Total waste of money
Insanely Thin sliced of maybe beef fat not the meat himself covered with tons of cornstarch and they called it main course, you basically receiving a very small plate full of cornstarch fries.
The crispy dock greasy and dry
Fried rice full of oil, veggies as well
All dishes swims in oil.
If I could I wouldn’t pay a penny for this meal.
Interesting how come not even ONE CHINESE PERSON dine in this Saturday night service.
Not even one.
It’s a shame for the Chinese culture and culinary to call this establishment a Chinese restaurant.
I’m in shock.
Server decided to put us on a pre fix menu even though we asked an la cart because we’re not eating some of the stuff
He decided to order for us and choose things we didn’t need

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mr. Chow, and my experience can be best described as nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into this culinary haven, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that seamlessly blended sophistication and warmth.
The design of Mr. Chow is a masterpiece in itself. The attention to detail in the decor creates an ambiance that is both stylish and inviting. The restaurant's aesthetic complements the dining experience perfectly, setting the stage for a memorable evening.
The crowd at Mr. Chow adds to the overall allure of the place. It's a vibrant mix of patrons who appreciate fine dining and a convivial atmosphere. Whether you're there for a special occasion or a casual evening out, the diverse clientele enhances the overall experience.
However, what truly sets Mr. Chow apart is its exceptional staff. I struggle to find words to capture the level of care and attention provided by the staff. From the moment I was seated, their dedication to providing impeccable service was evident. The little touches, the genuine smiles, and the attentiveness of the staff elevated the entire dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food. Mr. Chow's menu is a culinary masterpiece, and each dish is a work of art. The green shrimp, a personal favorite, was a burst of flavor that left my taste buds dancing. The dumplings were nothing short of perfection, and the scallops were a symphony of exquisite flavors. Every bite was a journey through a world of culinary delight.
And let's not forget the cocktails. Mr. Chow boasts the best Old Fashion in town, and I can attest to that. Each sip was a testament to the craftsmanship and expertise of the mixologists.
In conclusion, Mr. Chow is more than just a restaurant; it's a destination for those who appreciate the finer things in life. From the captivating atmosphere and impeccable design to the caring and attentive staff, every element of the dining experience at Mr. Chow is carefully curated to perfection. If you're a connoisseur of exquisite cuisine and unparalleled hospitality, Mr. Chow is an absolute must-visit. It has certainly earned its place as my go-to dining destination.
Cheers to Mr. Chow for an unforgettable culinary journey!

Worst tasting Chinese food experience we’ve EVER had. Don’t go here unless you want to get ripped off for the most expensive, small serving of bland food. Prawns tasted like they’re cooked in McDonald’s mayo, Chow noodles tasted like a bland spag Bol, Sweet+Sour pork was clearly from a cheap jar and the Crispy beef literally had ZERO beef in it, was just sticky fried flour. We tried to leave after the appetisers, it was so bad, but the mains were already on the way (because of course the waiters couldn’t care less what our actual dining experience was - they just wanted us to spend on the 2course set menu). Service was quick/rushed, but fine. It was plenty busy - we honestly don’t know why - has no-one ever had good Chinese food before?? Read the reviews of its NY restaurant before going here, wish we had!!!

When I go to a restaurant and spend over $100 a person I expect great food. Mr. Chow was bland at best.
The $30+ lettuce wraps could hardly be salvaged with a sauce and I know a place with $12 lettuce wraps that will put Mr. Chow to shame. The chicken satay wasn’t any better and even though it comes out bright red, which I thought meant there would be some seasoning, it tastes like boiled chicken on a stick. The main courses we tried didn’t rise to the occasion and the ma mignon was cold and just as unflavored as the other dishes.
Next time I’ll save myself the drive and $300 and just get Chinese food from the hole in the wall place by my house. At least it will have some flavor to it and I won’t feel like I just wasted money on a meal.

The restaurant is unfortunately OK with the fact that women get harassed and walked out on, they wouldn’t even give a discount and would let the woman take care of the entire check. My friend who’s not eben from LA, had to take care of both her check and his check while the manager of the restaurant Ricardo says that she only had to pay for herself.
The restaurant has absolutely no sympathy to someone who’s not even 21, serving them and making them pay for asian scammers who invite to Mr Chow and run out on you while the staff watches and does nothing.
this place is not what it used to be. they will sell their rep for $100.

What a terrible and costly experience. The service was tedious and rushed - they served us every dish the second they cleared the previous one. We paid $230 for a 28 minutes experience. It was so aggressive that we didn't even order desserts because we just wanted to leave. The food itself was flavorless. The salt and pepper shrimps had no salt, pepper, or flavor and had to be covered in their house spicy sauce. Same with the lobster appetizer. For our main course we orders the fried duck which was dried and flavorless. We had better Chinese food from cheap $20 places. STAY AWAY!

Their martinis were also excellent. Would definitely recommend a try or three.

After a stressful work week, we decided to treat ourselves and stopped -in to Mr Chow's.
I had fond memories of nice meals at this location in BH---pre-pandemic.
We were uncertain as to what we would find tonight. I am pleased to say that it was a truly wonderful experience. The staff were attentive polite and utterly charming. The familiar eclectic menu with its authentic dim sum a,ppetizers, famous freshly pulled hand-made noodles and savory seafood dishes (we chose the lobster) as well as legendary Peking duck were all in attendance.
Nothing was greasy or overly seasoned. (And there was no MSG to give one that good hang-over either)
The Champagne cart survives and thrives.
We treated ourselves to a glass! Why not!
I cannot say enough about the staff. They are friendly. They care about making your experience special. They even feigned laughter at some of my attempts at telling a joke.
All this on a weeknight too!
Thank You Mr Chow!

Mr Chow’s has fallen a long way, and the surly waitstaff are the sad footsoldiers exploiting the remains of a once great dynasty. We told the staff a few dishes that we wanted because we’d been there before, and they ended up charging us $102 each for a prefix that didn’t even include dessert (I’ve literally never encountered a prefix that didn’t). The food was obviously mediocre, as we expected, but the dishonesty and surliness of the waitstaff was used-car lot level and ruined the experience for me. I will never dine at a Mr. Chow’s restaurant again - and from the looks of Thursday’s crowd, don’t expect that will even be a choice since I suspect they won’t be in business for much longer.

Mr Chows is incredibly expensive for what you are getting. The portions are tiny and I’m not sure this food can be classified as Chinese.
My highlight dishes for the night are the Gambler’s Duck and the Mixed Berry Tart and the Lemon Tart. Our party was pleased with these dishes.
One dish I highly don’t recommend is the Crispy Beef. This dish is awful. The only thing I tasted was the fried pieces of flour and/or cornstarch.
There are a tone of staff so if you need anything, they will be there to assist you. I guess thats what the 20% auto gratuity is for.
This place is fine for an extremely special occasion but if you come here for the food you must be insane.

The food here is excellent. I had the house noodles, potstickers and the spicy filet mignon. The service was kind of a bummer. We were having cocktails and I wanted potstickers to go with the drink and they said this was not possible, you had to order your dinner all at the same time. We didn't want to do this as they tend to bring all of the food out at once. So this kind of put a dark cloud over our anniversary dinner.

Akşam üzeri 5 kişi gittiğimiz mekanın barında 4 tonik içip yemeğe geçtik. Bir şişe şarapla birlikte yemek siparişine geçtiğimizde kişi başı 75 dolarlık yemek sipariş etmek zorunda olduğumuzu öğrendik.
Fazla aç olmadığımızı söylesek de ısrarla kabul etmediler.
Ve az yediğimiz halde kişi başı 75 $ hesaba yazmışlardı.
Garsonlar nezaketsizdi.
Tavsiye etmiyorum, paranıza yazık.

This place isn't about food. It's a business designed to extract money from wealthy folks. A preposterous experience for people of average means. If you want to spend a lot of money at a restaurant in LA, there are hundreds of better options.

I am Chinese. I think the food is ok but the price is really too high for the quality. The menu is in a plastic folder and feel very cheep. Nice to try once this place and never go back.

Very disappointed!! I should have listened to some of the people in the Beverly Hills area who advised me to cancel and not to go to dinner there. The people who have tried it, decided not to go back due to pricing and how cramped the place is. Service was fine, the food is just ok to good depending on the entrée, but not great, so compared to what you pay, it is not justifiable. Also, I didn't care for their system with them requiring you to get 4 appetizers and 4 entrees at a cost of $106 per person. Overall, I will not go back. Earlier that day, we went to Nobu in Malibu, we sat outside with the most amazing views and ate incredible food and paid all in $600, now compare that to over $900 at Mr. Chow and the food was just ok with cramped seating next to a wall. NO COMPARISON.

Serving prosecco in a Lalique champagne flute, and some people, somehow will say it's the best "champagne" ever!! This is exactly the ideology of this place. Taking any photo of their dishes is an insult to my phone/camera. Naming this place by the last name is an insult to all people sharing the same last name. Readers, if you can spare >$150/person (US dala) for chop sui, please try this place out to believe it, because it's purely unbelievable.
Cheers!

Got food poisoning don’t know whether the chicken or beef we ate. Didn’t taste very well either. Heard quite a bit about this restaurants let’s just say I been staying in my hotel room for the last 2 days since I’ve gone there.

Quintessential LA restaurant known to be very sceney, attracting the wealthy while serving mediocre, below average food. Some dishes were edible, most unworthy of the caloric intake. Panda Express is better than this, truly. I cannot fathom why this restaurant continues to have a home in Beverly Hills, charges exorbitant prices ($135/pp for our group) and attracts the upper middle class to host events and birthday parties here. Their fame is embarrassing to LA’s Chinese food and food scene in general. Service is rude, rushed and not notable. This experience was offensive to me.

Out of this world! thank you fabulous team, what an experience we had here.

Terrible service. Unfortunately, I didnt have the option to give them a ZERO star rating and had to choose 1 star as a minimum.
The waiter/supervisor’s ultimate goal was to maximize our bill and did not give us the freedom/pleasure of ordering what we wanted to.
He insisted (4 times) that we must order the set menu to obtain the “best experience” of “food and service”. He was reluctant to let us order a la carte (as we have the absolute right to). Ive personally experienced this at this restaurant in the past but didnt think it was a trend.
This used to be one of my favorite places in LA, but I definitely will never step foot ever again.
Not worth my hard-earned money to be talked down to and disrespected and end up paying about 170 USD (for myself) to be disrespected.
Thanks but no thanks. There are other restaurants in LA.

Noodle pull show was super impressive! Food was great - of all the dishes we tried, I loved the chicken skewers and green prawn.

I would eat here every day if I could afford it. The food is incredible. Have tried several things on the menu and can't say which I like best since they are all amazing. Their spicy sauce that they put on the table is incredible as well. Definitely put that on anything and everything! Thank you for another great meal!

All I can say is terrible terrible. Terrible from the appetizers to the main course to the desert. Just ridiculous. No pallets at all. It’s like no one has a pallet and that restaurant no one has taste buds in that restaurant. It’s like they don’t believe in seasoning. It is the most ridiculous dinner and money waste of money that I’ve ever spent I highly do not recommend. $400 wasted.

I had planned a very special dinner to celebrate my deceased daughter’s birthday who loved Mr chows last night. We had celebrated her birthday at that restaurant for several years and it had become a tradition. It turned out to be one of our worst experiences and we left before ending our meal. A very loud, vile and rude group sat at the table next to us who were all shouting and disrupting not only our party but other tables around us. A couple of other tables left. We pointed this out to a few servers, the manager and other restaurant personnel who took no action and allowed this disruptive people get away and continue to ruin our evenin. When we asked them to keep the noise down they responded by swearing at us, like “f” off, etc. The manager did nothing to resolve the issue and keep peace. In fact he stayed away. Very poor management. The restaurant did not offer to move them nor us to an another table where we could enjoy our dinner and celebration. I know I will never go to Mr Chow’s again nor will any of my guests. This was truly the worst restaurant experience I have had. The quality of this restaurant has gone down in every way.

What can I say, legendary. Unbelievable service and hats off to Ronaldo and Ramon. In the earlier part of the year, we (myself and family) frequented Mr. Chows every weekend and sometimes during the week from January to May (That's over 20 times dining at the establishment). Not once did I receive poor service. Not once was a dish cold, hastily presented or anything but superior. Sure, the fried rice price is surprising, but it's worth it when you take in the surroundings, especially sipping on an amazing Lychee Martini. Our most memorable dinner here came with my Girlfriend and her Parents, simply amazing.

We had a very nice booth near the front but that was the only thing that was nice. I had two shrimp appetizers cuz nothing on the main menu sounded good. My partner is vegetarian, and had very limited options for him. They gave us a hard time about ordering side orders of white rice and brown rice with mushrooms ($16/bowl) because we didn't order a main course and said that three appetizers was not enough. They finally let us order $32 for two sides of rice, but only after we were both pretty uncomfortable. Shrimp dishes were tasty, washed it down with hot jasmine tea and bottle of flat water, we don't drink alcohol. The bill included tip and tax was close to $300. But got sick within 12 hours of eating here. Two days of a fever of 100.5, diarrhea, and nauseous.
Not the best spot for Chinese food. Food poisoning was even worse. No thank you.

It’s just to expensive. The waiters don’t know information about the menu except the captains. They just try to get the most money out of you. Tip and notes: there’s a minimum of $75 per person so don’t get the idea you are going to eat for less than that. If you don’t drink any alcohol be regal to spend $120 per person. If you decid to go there beside this you must order the emperors crab you won’t regret it.

The food is horrible and lacks flavor! The prawns are not prawns and more like medium shrimp. The green bean taste frozen and the lobster noodles weren’t even able to eat. Like what does the chef have against FLAVOR and SEASONING? The fried rice… do yourself a favor and save your time and money. I mean this was on par with PF Changs. They seriously need to get a new chef and have a come to Jesus moment about what they are serving because this is not worth!

This was one of the most stressful dinners I've ever had. There was a large party of at least 25 people seated in the main dining room which literally took over the entire restaurant. Members of the party were out of their seats and mingling in the very narrow aisle preventing the flow of traffic, bumping into my family member's chair continuously as they socialized completely oblivious of the other patrons. The staff did absolutely nothing to reign them in. This was not a private room nor a bar and was utterly inappropriate and rude to the rest of the patrons. The food was OK, frankly pretty bland but good enough quality that the prices seemed acceptable. However, a lot of "hocus pocus" when we were suddenly somehow switched to a prix fixe dinner as a "courtesy" because it was more economical. Economical or not, discuss it first so your guests can at least understand the bill and what they are being charged- not leaving trying to analyze it in their head on the way home!. A big disappointment!

Went here for restaurant week, which is a high recommendation. Otherwise be ready to spend. Drinks did add up quickly but not like any other LA place.
Service A+++. Food was served to share, which I liked and for the most part very good of you add sauces. Desert was good as well. I could see myself returning.

Everything was good up until I realized I’m over paying for mediocre quality of food and service. The appetizer I order was a chicken satay that was $14.00 a skewer, waiter insisted that I order 2 since they’re small, so I did. Didn’t like the way it tasted so I asked if they can at least take 1 of them off the bill since I didn’t like it and didn’t want it. They were so strict about not taking it off the bill and I must say that is so unprofessional and unethical to decline it, giving that it is a “high end” Chinese food restaurant. Sad

I have never been so disappointed in food at a restaurant. Came to LA for a conference and wanted to check this place out. Overpriced for gawd awful food. Your neighborhood Chinese spot is better than this. Had the green prawns, satay chicken, Mr. Chow noodles, broccoli and Beijing chicken, it was all gross. This is embarrassing. How can you serve $5000 bottles of wine and serve what’s tastes like frozen food. Only got two stars because of the waiter.
