Celeb chef Wolfgang Puck's buzzy, sleek bistro offers creative, locally sourced Californian cuisine.
Make reservations! The high quality ingredients are worth experiencing. I like how disciplined the dishes are: nothing is over seasoned, flavors just exist on the palate with minimal effort, ingredients speak for themselves. Can feel a bit crammed, loud, difficult to navigate through the tightly space tables, but as a result the energy and the enthusiasm is elevated throughout the restaurant. I DO NOT recommend the salmon pizza. It will make you super full so only order this signature dish, if you are going multiple times, sharing, or are ok with taking food home.

Located at the heart of downtown Los Angeles, Spago Beverly Hills is a popular restaurant found by Wolfgang Puck. The Christmas decorations are very festive. While the bar and main dining room areas look hip and chic, the private room with a high ceiling has a classy tone. However, hygiene appears to be a big concern, perhaps the main reason for the Michelin stars to be plucked away! Washrooms are filthy to say the least, and coffee cups on the newly set dining table are not properly cleaned (shown on one of the photos attached). Jason, the manager taking care of the private party, is very friendly and accommodating. Sadly, the so-called California cuisine is unimpressive, and the high price is not justified at all! The signature Smoked Salmon Pizza’s crust is not crispy enough, and the salmon roes are very fishy. The Hiramasa Sashimi (US$ 38) is overpowered by the ginger seasoning. The Blue Fin Tuna (US$ 46) actually tastes quite fresh by itself, but is unfortunately ruined by the addition of the chewy seaweed that has a strange smell. Highlight of the dinner is the rich but fluffy Dark Chocolate Soufflé (US$ 28).

Our waiter was excellent. Chanterelle Cavatelli, steak and jidori chicken were all done so so well. We were seated in a spacious and beautiful banquet. The only issues were that our appetizer was served before our bread and while my wife got her champagne within 5 minutes of ordering, my cocktail did not arrive until after the appetizer was finished (about half an hour). Still, wonderful experience and we will surely be back soon.

Understaffed, food was good but the portions to price is kinda skewed, same goes with the cocktails, yes I know the ingredients are of better quality but classic/aging dishes that are on constant repeate leave much to desire. More of a place to be seen and or check off a list, which help it dust under the rug things that many other locations in LA offer at a better service and quality and with a bit more creativity then wolfgangs Spago does.

I haven’t written a review in years but really wanted to say how wonderful my experience was at Spago last night. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. I don’t dine out as I have a very sensitive stomach but had no problem at all with my meal last night which is saying a lot. The most noteable part of the evening was talking with Ms. Lazeroff, one of the owners or the owner of Spago. What a lovely woman. So gracious, welcoming and warm. My dinner companion was going through a difficult situation and Ms. Lazeroff spent a significant amount of time talking with us and guiding my fiiend on “next steps” to finding resolution to her problem. I can see why her restaurant is still so successful all these years later and with so much competition, the restaurant was packed, buzzing and alive. I love it. That’s how it should be.

Amazing experience at Spago. Salmon pizza with caviar was delicious. Gem salad and ahi cones unique and special. I had lamb chop which were lean, perfectly cooked and in a savory sauce. We had chocolate souffle for dessert which was made from a darker chocolate and exquisite. Best overall was the outstanding service. From the server. Conrad, who was
knowledgeable about the dishes and attentive, the busboys were super helpful about each detail, the wine sommelier was extremely knowledgeable. We had high expectations and spago delivered beyond on all fronts.

I recently dined at Spago Beverly Hills, and it was a truly disappointing experience. I had heard so much about this restaurant's reputation for high-end cuisine, but what I encountered was far from impressive. To start with, the dino nuggets were a major letdown. These were supposed to be a fun, nostalgic item, but instead, they were overcooked, dry, and lacked any real flavor. They tasted like something you’d get from a cheap frozen food aisle rather than a renowned restaurant.
The fries were equally dismal—greasy, limp, and under-seasoned. It’s astonishing how such a simple dish could be executed so poorly. They were neither crispy nor flavorful, and seemed like they had been sitting around for too long.
The rest of the meal didn't fare much better. The service was lackluster, with inattentive staff who seemed indifferent to our concerns. For a place that boasts luxury and culinary excellence, Spago Beverly Hills fell flat on all fronts. The experience was far from what I expected from such a reputed establishment. I left feeling both dissatisfied and cheated out of my money. I won't be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quality dining experience.

it's a beautiful restaurant and the food is amazing, but the service is sloppy and the overall tone of the staff is mercenary and aggressive and dismissive and hostile and greedy and impatient... needs new management, otherwise they should lower their prices, because they're charging like a two michelin star restaurant, but the standards fall spectacularly short of what's being charged here.. dear wolfgang puck, please bring back the glory days of this beautiful establishment, it felt so sad to be in here with these scoundrels ruining your reputation!

It had been a long while since I went to Spago but last night I was reminded why it remains one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles, even to this day.
After being greeted with a warm and heartfelt welcome, we were shown to the perfect table on the restaurant’s enchanting patio. The evening ensued flawlessly thanks to the professionalism and genuine enthusiasm of our expert entourage - Eric, Wine Director Matt, and server Leal. The cuisine was exquisite, the wine pairings were spot on, and the service, impeccable. To top it off, we enjoyed a delightful exchange with Barbara who passionately insisted that we conclude our meal with Kasserschmarm for dessert. She was right - it was superb! Spago is truly world class and showcases with great brio the meaning of hospitality. I will be sure not to let as much time pass before visiting again!

My husband took me to Spago as a surprise to celebrate my birthday. What a treat!
The service was impeccable. It is clear from the moment you park the car in front of Spago that every single staff member strives for excellence.
We were seated in a comfortable booth inside and enjoyed seeing the lighting changing as the sun set happened late. The ambiance is sophisticated, yet comfortable.
We felt very lucky to have an extremely kind and sweet server named Rita. Her assistants (who brought in the food, the drinks, removed empty dishes, lit up my birthday candle) were also kind and professional. They all brought a feel of being happy to be there in that given moment.
As for dinner, I'll name my favorite dishes:
* the tuna cones
* the branzino (I think the best I ever had)
* the peach strudel (inspired) dessert
I appreciated the personalized touch of having my name written following the "happy birthday" wish with our dessert.
Mr. Wolfgang Puck came to greet us at our table at the start of the evening, which was quite sweet.
As we were walking to leave the restaurant, many of the staff members thanked us and wished us a good rest of the evening.
Impeccable, from beginning to end, with the addition of a follow up email on the following day.

There's something wrong with this place's identity. Maybe because it was a father's day, it felt like a ultra-expensive family diner if that makes sense. People dressed up and the price was high, but the food was weirdly big in portion and not as delicate as you might expect. The "middle plates" were especially perplexing. We upgraded them to the "entree size", which was a huge mistake and we didn't finish: the original portion would've been enough for us as entrees; I couldn't imagine having the "main" on top of it.

It’s pricey, but worth it. My experience at pricey, high-end restaurants is this: in about 30%, the food, service, atmosphere and overall experience justify the price. In the other 70%, you feel like you were ripped off because something was disappointing. Spago was the good 30%. It you want to treat yourself and dining companions, I highly recommend Spago.

The servers and staff were spectacular. My server Steven and Dakota were on top of it and had things at my table that I wanted before I formally told them. One of the su chefs Danny greeted out table and personally apologized when pig ears were mistakenly on the menu but not available and went back to the kitchen and immediately made pig ears for my wife. Devin poured us wines that were exquisite and went perfectly with our food. Richie, another manager, came over frequently to check on us and even folded our napkins when we went to use the restroom. Would go back everyday if I could. Everything was flawless.

To celebrate Mother's Day, we chose Spago in Beverly Hills, a decision that proved to be exceptional in many ways. The ambience was refined and inviting, perfect for a special occasion.
The service at Spago is unparalleled – attentive, knowledgeable, and always with a smile. The wine list is extensive and carefully curated, with our server making excellent recommendations. We paired our meal with the Donnachadh Rosé of Syrah 2023, which was light, and refreshing, and complemented our dishes perfectly.
Our meal began with their famous bread and salsas, setting a high bar right from the start. We also enjoyed the Spicy Big Eye Tuna Cones, featuring sesame, ginger, wasabi, chilli aioli, and daikon sprouts. These were as delicious as I remembered from my previous visit – a perfect balance of spice and freshness.
For our main courses, we indulged in the Liberty Farm's Duck Breast, which was beautifully cooked and paired with caramelized endive, kumquat marmalade, candied walnuts, and a spiced duck jus. The flavours were exquisite, each component enhancing the duck without overpowering it. We also tried the chicken and the Chilean sea bass, both of which were prepared to perfection, showcasing the quality of the ingredients and the chef's skill.
Desserts at Spago are nothing short of spectacular. Being a special occasion we let ourselves be recommended for Mother's Day but we will return to try everything we can.
Spago remains a top choice for fine dining in Beverly Hills. From the exceptional service and wine list to the delightful starters and exquisite entrees, and the unforgettable desserts, every aspect of our Mother's Day celebration was perfect. Highly recommended for any special occasion.
Spago remains a top choice for fine dining in Beverly Hills. Highly recommended for any special occasion. However, I have to say, this visit was Allegro Ma Non Troppo. We've enjoyed the concept of Spago's kitchen on many previous occasions, having dined there numerous times before. Unfortunately, this time wasn’t the best experience.

The place where we were first taken was too noisy, so we asked to be sheltered inside, and they gladly let us go, so we were able to enjoy a better time in more places.

Spago pairs white-hot chic atmosphere with exceptional food, adding professional service without pretense or arrogance. You’re in a fancy (ultra expensive) restaurant, but servers are down-to-earth and guide newbies through the menu without the exasperated exhale practiced at similar establishments.
Enter and walk through a traditional bar that was peaceful when I attended, a handful of regulars holding court with an affable bartender. I went with work colleagues, which blunted the pain associated with fairly hefty prices. But, as our elders say, “for money you get honey,” and Spago delivers where it counts: quality food. I had bits of numerous dishes – but the duck was particularly special.

Whoever is running Spago Beverly Hills Instagram has no idea how to use Instagram. I swear they must be a 70 year old friend of Wolfgang Puck because it’s really really frustrating. They post drinks and food items on Spago Instagram that aren’t even on the menu anymore. So you go there wanting an item you just saw that day and no one working there has any clue what you’re talking about. This has happened on three separate occasions just in the last month. Even all the employees say the person running the Instagram is terrible. That she post content way too late and has no idea what they’re doing. It’s 2024 you need to have a person that knows what they’re doing on social media. Especially with a restaurant with so much praise and amazing food.

Went to Spago with high expectations - the ambiance in the restaurant was lovely, food was good but what absolutely killed the experience was the service- it took 20 mins after we were sat down for one of the waiters to finally come over and acknowledge us. We had to wait ages between each course. Even after we were given dessert menus, we had to wait 25 mins for our order to be taken. Other famous places in town such as Cut and Nobu had exceptional service so Spago really need to rethink what they’re doing

We have been in LA from NYC for the month of January. We had planned to dine at Spago earlier but something always came up. We finally made it last night and we are only sorry we did not get there earlier as we would have gone more than once (we leave for NYC tomorrow.) The hostess was very gracious when she greeted us and had our table ready for us right away. We had a lovely and comfortable banquet in the main dining room. Our server Kat was very attentive and knowledgable. We were pleased by the numberous selections on the Dry January list and Kat made a good recommendaiton to my wife. We shared a mushroom pizza as an appetizer. It was perfect and delicious. We each had a hand made pasta for our main course. Both were flavorful and al dente. Finally we shared a scoop of the ice cream made everyday on sight. It was over the moon. I highly recommend this classic spot. It is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service.

The hostess girl ruined the whole evening and the whole mood for me and my family.
In an establishment of this level, I think a hostess who speaks rudely and yells at guests should not work!
The situation is as follows: we booked a table for 6:30 pm by phone call and arrived on time. We waited 10 minutes. Other guests arrived later than us and were seated faster than us. I approached the hostess and asked: why were these guests seated faster than us? To which I heard not an answer, but shouting and insults directed at me! That's horrible!
I am very sorry that in such a good restaurant they are rude from the threshold and speak obscenely to the guests.

A great fine dining option around beverly hills as well as place for anniversary or birthday celebrations. There was always a little wait even you made the reservation beforehand. Yet, you can always kill the time at the bar areas where you can find a few sofas. The food is up to standard depends on the rotating items that you got for the season. Eg the crispy scale black bass is my fav but you cannot get it all the time because they rotated the menu. Tuna cone and pizzas are also must try and the wine list is also one of the best. I also personally recommend the bread roll before entree, soft & sweet & milky. Sashimi is also highly recommended. In short, it's a safe option for special occassion especially if you run into the best items in menu.

The best part is that Chef Wolfgang Puck occasionally makes a surprise visit at your table if he is in town. I am so glad that I got to chat and meet him in person. We even exchanged the signed copies of our books. The service there was attentive and personal! The whole dining experience at Spago was truly remarkable and memorable!

THE best place for lunch in Beverly Hills, with impeccable service, great atmosphere, and dishes that never fail to impress. I cannot resist ordering the gazpacho soup - still the best anywhere. The menu is so varied, it would be a challenge to find any other restaurant in the world that executes to perfection the diversity of dishes one can order at Spago. Wolfgang Puck’s flagship Spago never fails to meet or exceed my high expectations, and easily earns a 5-Star rating.

Had a great time at this legendary LA eatery for my birthday. I think the tuna cones and the salmon pizza were excellent but I was a little disappointed in the angelotti and the schnitzel courses, though. The pasta did not come quite warm enough for my liking and the breading of the schnitzel came off a little too easily. Both were still quite enjoyable, but I think did not quite meet my expectations of such a legendary and tbh expensive restaurant. It was a tremendous pleasure and surprise meeting Wolfgang himself as soon as I walked into the dining room. I would still recommend Spago to anyone looking to treat themselves to an elevated dining experience.

Service was painfully slow. We also were reassigned servers three times during the evening, not sure why. This restaurant is extremely overrated. While the food was good, it wasn't memorable, and is very overpriced.

I dont usually write bad reviews but felt the need on this one. My husband and I had friends visiting from Germany and decided on Spago. Food was average at best but we were having a nice time with friends. At the same time the check came, a server walked behind my husband and dumped a her trey of drinks including beer and water all over his back, getting his coat and shirt soaked. Manager came over to apologize and offered to have the coat dry cleaned. I explained that we live about 45 min away and would need the coat delivered back to us, to which he returned the coat back to my husband and gave us the GMs card, Steve Scott Springer. Said best to contact him and resolve the situation. Nothing was taken off the bill as a good gesture. Just the GMs business card. I emailed Scott on 10/16, 10/24 and 11/3, and have left him 2 voicemails and have yet to hear back. Its not the cost for the dry cleaning or the fact that they didnt comp anything (not even 1 drink) or that they wanted us to drive back to pick up the coat....its that Spagos prides themselves on great service and each time I have been there, I have had a terrible experience with their service.

Celebrated our 9th anniversary at the highly rated spago and we were not disappointed. From top to bottom, from servers to food and atmosphere we had an excellent experience. Thank you to our co-server Ephraine probably misspelling his name to our server for taking care of us. Definitely for average people like us it was on the expensive end but then again it was expected for an A listers who frequent Spago. For example We saw Ted Danson. So if you plan on dinning at Spago you might be lucky to see your favorite actor or actress. Overall my wife and I had a great time. Thank God He is good to us for His endless mercy and grace.

We had a birthday celebration for my mother's 80th birthday, and it was truly a great experience at Spago. The service was amazing and the food couldn't have been better. Everyone in our party has different tastes, and Spago accommodated everyone's expectations. Even my four year old grandson was impressed with a Mickey Mouse shaped cheese pizza. Wolfgang Puck came to the table and wished my mom a happy birthday, which delighted her. All in all. I would recommend Spago for anyone who appreciates fine dining.

Spago is special. There are few meals that are so impactful that you can recall everything about the meal. I have had two such experiences at Spago. Their pan seared sea scallops were magical as was their strawberry shortcake. Service is always on point, too. Anytime I am in LA, Spago is always a MUST!

This is a place that is now simply resting on their laurels from a bygone era (the early 2000s?) but does not seem to be innovating or even trying anymore. There are so many better places to eat in LA, including other Wolfgang Puck owned restaurants, like Cut.
Our food, from the Wienerschnitzel, to the Jidori Chicken, to the Branzino was “mid.” Especially at the price point.
The only cool and fun part was meeting Chef Wolfgang Puck himself, who does take the time to walk around and greet the guests.
