Fantastic spot for a great lunch in Beverly Hills. Service, food and atmosphere are wonderful . . . Keep coming back for the best in class of everything. Front of the house is extremely helpful and makes every visit special. Food is wonderful - had the Dover sole and it was amazing. And the space is iconic. Just a must visit spot in BH!

Elia our waiter was amazing, he made us laugh had heaps of jokes and great recommendations. The rib eye steak which was seared to perfection was so juicy and the basting was enough not to have any sauce. The scallops were amazing also and the tuna tartare was fantastic as an entree. Must try when your in LA next. You can tell that the staff get along well as everyone was lovely. Great experience.

Traveled frequently to Los Angeles in the 90’s and 2000-2012. Favorite spots to go with friends: Spago, Nate-n-Als, Musso and Frank, le Petit Four, Canter’s, Pinks, and the legendary Grill on the Alley. Populated often by high rollers yet welcoming to everyone. Dress ( casually ) up and enjoy the great menu and professional service.

I recently dined at this restaurant with my son. He ordered the 12-ounce New York steak, requesting it to be cooked medium. Unfortunately, it arrived rare and undercooked, with visible blood. The steak's taste was subpar, and the string fries were burnt and inedible. Although the ambience was beautiful and the service excellent, the food was a major letdown. This experience merits a 1 out of 10. The meal was extremely overpriced, and we will not be returning. If you want to enjoy your food, steer clear of this place.

It was our first time at this location and we are NOT coming back! I was sick few hours later and my friend had a hard time digesting. He was up all night with an upset stomach and sweat 😰
The Maitre D was nice and found us a table. Our waiter didn't know the menu and was not professional. The timing to get our food was very long and timing was off. I believe the soft shell crabs was not fresh... That's the only things we had in common. I don't mind paying but that was very disappointing and behing sick after eating is NEVER a good thing...

Jane was such an excellent server. She's a real pro. Very friendly, with pleasant conversation. .. I would have given the food 5 stars except for the side dishes. I happen to love hash browns, and these were not up to minimal standards. They seemed to be left over from the previous shift - cold and stale. In addition, $14 should bring a sharable portion for two. We received an average sized portion for one. Suggestion for the chef: Go to Joe's Stone Crab in South Beach and replicate their hash browns. Seriously. Your guests will appreciate it. The broccoli might have been steamed for 60-90 seconds, and therefore was barely cooked. C'mon. I know The Grill on The Alley can do better.

It was the worst experience in a restaurant!
It's not the first time I eat at this location and usually I seat at the bar.
Last night after I order the Pork chop m w with asparagus After waiting the 30 minutes which is ok I was told about the waiting time, I reciveded the chop extra over cooked and with fries after waiting that long I ordered mac and cheese with bacon and no mushrooms again the mac had no bacon!
Ok I order again a NY m r, the meat come out raw, than the 2 bartenders giggling and whispering in the ears they send me another mac and cheese this time with mushrooms but no bacon!!! The gentleman eating next to me couldn't belive what was huppening!I am disappointed in Carlos I told my frustration and he blamed the kitchen easy to do so right? No manager notthing was done to adjust the situation rather than serve a cold check!
There was alot of DISCRIMINATION!!!To say "Sir we lost in translation!!
To the Manager train you employees not to run only for the money but to have Passion for the food and people!

Was pretty disappointed on my last visit. When I walked in and asked for a table, the man at the host stand said “I do not have a table for you right now” when I could clearly see a row of empty tables from where I stood. I am thinking he said that because I was a party of one. I did not say anything, but did stand there looking at him with a demeanor that said I was going to wait. He then fumbled around and found me one of the row of the empty tables. The waitress came but multiple times, but was there and gone so quick after my initial order I was never able to order the Lemon Drop I really wanted. I ordered the wedge salad chopped and tossed. It was pretty mediocre. I also ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. There was no lump about it. It was a mushy scoop of the crab mixture that when served to me was hot on the outside but icy cold in the middle. There was a saving grace. The hot fudge sunday was great.

If I could honestly give them a negative 0,
I would. I ordered the lamb chops, spinach, and Mac and cheese. The lamb chops were suppose to be well done no char; they arrived charred and pink no seasoning just bland the macaroni was so overcooked noodles the were hard, the spinach were just steam. I sent the spinach back, the chops were asked to be redone. They took the chops back and brought the chops back to me which are now charred badly and still pink. I cut the chops so that he could see they still weren't cooked correctly. He walks off! I finally asked for a check. I paid for the meal and got up to leave. As we were leaving another waiter said did they take care of you, he said no black people. I was livid. I walked out and turned around to speak to manager about it. I am grateful to God that I am in a different place in my life. It is sad that people think that are to be compensated for poor service!

It is a very good option if you like steak and and you would like to eat a late lunch or early dinner as they are open all afternoon.
The appetizers were too big for my appetite but I think this is expected looking at all the other restaurants.
The Mac & Cheese is not impressive, we liked the onion rinks and Salad.
The stakes were nice but we didn’t get to chose any sauces, I’m not sure if they have them as I didn’t pay attention to the menu and the waiter didn’t remind us about sauces.
Again, if you are tight with time, that’s a great option.

The restaurant has a classy decor and a warm, enjoyable atmosphere. We couldn't fault any of the food in the slightest. Everything was cooked to perfection. The flavours and textures were a massive credit to the elite chefs they obviously have there. These people clearly take immense pride in their craft and as a result, the finished product is as good as anywhere else you could go for a perfect steak. Another visit to The Grill on the Alley will be a very deliberate addition to our itinerary next time we are in town. If you haven't been to this restaurant go out of your way to get there. Went there with a old friend and was able to get a table at the last minute which was great. Once there, we were treated very quickly and with a great waiter who was very helpful. We both ordered the surf & turf with the lobster tail and filet. I had mine with the ribeye. He came back to inform us they had only one lobster tail left, we were the last reservation of the night so it was understandable to run out. So for a fix he gave us each a half lobster tail and soft shell crab as replacement. Great idea he had and it was delicious and the portions were plentiful. Along with sides of Brussels sprouts, asparagus, baked potato and a salad. We ate like kings. Throw in some 7 layer chocolate cake and a key lime pie to die for we had zero room left for anything but conversation. A great evening and a nice walk around the area in beautiful Beverly Hills shopping district. Which at night is my favorite place in LA to walk around. With the lights on the streets and all those amazing storefronts we caught up on life events as we went to our cars to head home. All in all, the Grill On the Alley was the perfect place to have dinner and to see an old friend. Highly recommended for its great food and atmosphere. Did I say we closed the place and not once did they rush us out. When we realized we were the only ones left we graciously said thank you and exited so they could all go home.

This place is unbelievably good. My Gram lives in BH and this was my grandparents go to place for taking family and friends out for dinner. They know them. My grandfather passed and his waiter was at his funeral. He has since retired but there are still amazing waiters that really take good care of you. So the service is amazing.
The drinks are also yummy. I ordered a lemon drop (or 2 😉 🍋 🍹) which was sooo good and my husband ordered a "Flawless" . So good. But my husband liked his first one better and I noticed there were fruit garnishes on our second round so the bartenders must have changed.
My husband and I split a ceaser salad which we devoured. They split the plate automatically for us without asking and added black pepper to our taste. Perfect service.
I ordered the salmon special which honestly the salmon was brilliantly cooked and yummy but didn't pair that well with the citrus dressing and greens topping it. I ate half of it and the rest of my grandma's John Dory. The John Dory is the best fing thing on this menu. You MUST order this dish. Or at the very least someone at your table willing to share. Thanks Gram! The sauce it's paired with is incredible and comes with the halibut too because my aunt order the parm encrusted halibut and she got the sauce. Hers was incredible too! Let's see.. My husband ordered a ribeye with mashed potatoes. Yes yes yes! I got one delicious 😋 bite. And it was the best bite ever. My daughter got a kids size steak filet and after finishing it she ate some of the ribeye. She is a sucker for good steak. My son got mac and cheese and he's a Kraft fan so he wasn't impressed with the rotini shape and sauce.. But we were! We took it to go and ate it later. It was tasty. My great aunt ordered a prawn pasta she liked it. I could tell she'd ordered it before. I saw another person with it too so it's a popular dish.
Lastly on the food.. You'll definitely definitely want to save room in your belly and wallet for dessert, because this is where our Texas sized appetites were satiated. The portions are huge! We ordered a key lime pie, cheesecake and hot fudge sundae. My son got the hot fudge sundae (yes even after his meager attempt at his mac and cheese), but you have never seen a happier little boy in your life. There was a huge amount of whip cream atop the chocolate ice cream and then you get a little gravy boat full of hot fudge; he was having the best time pouring it on top. His face lit up! Get your child this sundae or be a kid again and get it for yourself. My aunt and gram shared with him but he ate a lot of it. My daughter and great Aunt shared the keylime pie and OMG ITS THE BEST DANG key lime pie you've ever had. And we've been the the Florida keys and had plenty of their pie but this was better. Even my husband who doesn't care for it as much as my daughter and I, loved it. The portion looked was 2 slices in 1. It's creamy and not too sweet and the gram cracker crust is just perfect. My husband and I split the cheesecake bc he loves cheesecake. It was dense and perfectly made. But I need more than the little strawberry puree they put on the plate. My husband is a purest and loved it as is. Any critique I have is really my own taste preference and not the restaurant's quality. I know from eating there before that they will adjust anything you ask based on your tastes. Pan seared vs grilled, more sauce etc..
I mean this restaurant is top notch. It's been my grandparent's favorite since my childhood. Things come and go in Beverly hills but this restaurant is a staple.
You get what you pay for! This place is pricey but not in an exorbitant kind of way. You will be happy to pay the prices once you experience the quality of service and food and atmosphere. If you want a good dinner by Rodeo Drive, this is the place!
People wear jeans and shirts here so no need to dress up but we always look nice when we go here.
Takeaways: if you like seafood, try the John Dory. Dress nice but not up and order the key lime pie if you're a fan. Kid friendly!

Excellent food. Excellent service. Gotta try the Tomahawk! Be prepared to dine with OLD folks. Average age of each person was about 75 years old.

The steak was good, but the Cobb salad was something special and the French fries one of the best I ever had

WONDERFUL. From food to atmosphere to amazing service and enjoyment, The Grill on the Alley is a place not to be missed. Every visit we have had has been enjoyable well beyond expectations. The staff are extremely professional and make the evening complete. Can't wait to visit once again once Covid has been "tackled", until then my wife and I can only smack our lips and anticipate what's to come!

Doesn't get better than this. Hollywood power lunch extraordinaire. The food is super tasty and I had a career waiter. He knew his stuff, was funny and super attentive without being annoying or intrusive. Beautiful environment, great food & great service. A++

Most of them are really funny and hilarious and hilarious and funny. And, once you start reading them, it’s really hard to stop. When you read numerous comments, you see the pattern which you don’t understand and read it again to reassure that you are able to reason something out of it.
